People confuse warming up and getting blood flow and some general movement with the muscle or muscles that you are about to train and stretching, these are two very different things that serve different functions and purpose. Stretching is not something you want to be doing right before a heavy lifting or general hypertrophy workout, too many people drive to the gym and right before they are about to "lift" they spend time stretching, or even worse doing heavy static stretching as you see so many people sitting around at the gym stretching out before their workout. This is not what you want to do because static stretching actually stretches the muscle fibers and is something to be done between workout days, on off days or after a workout is completed and soreness has settled in, you would start by gradually stretching the muscle, and if your very sore and tight from the past workout, a heavy static stretch such as on your quads or shoulders or even triceps will help lengthen and elongate the muscle. Warming up and getting some bloodflow to the surrounding area that you are about to train is what you should be doing right before a training session, doing some generalized movements especially if your coming from a full day of sitting at work or if you've been stationary for any degree of time, most people who sit at work are at a massive disadvantage as the muscles in the lower body freeze and lock up with extended periods of being stationary. Even pro NFL teams are doing it all wrong, the players are standing or sitting around in large circles before the game performing mostly static stretching. Your body needs to be warmed up but tight enough for your muscles to respond to the added stimulus, contrary to what we were taught in gym class growing up, endless stretching and warming up is wrong, you should always be warm and stretched out enough to perform an exercise, and the day of training is not the time to be performing endless sets of stretches, you would be weakening the muscles right before the upcoming training sets.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 Jesus Christ is the only way, seek Him while He may be found, before it’s too late, tomorrow is never promised.
