Thanks for the video. I thought I was the only one. How much are replacement cartridges for that pump? Which model? For a replacement start capacitor they want as much as the whole pump. the start capacitor is usually under $5. Supplyhouse.
it's usually cheaper to buy the whole pump and pull the cartridge end off the new volute. same for zone valves, cheaper to buy the whole thing and use half of them lol
Have you ever though of making dowels same thread pitch and size with a longer length to help guide the pump on and start the other two screws? I use this a lot when needing to line things up and bolt them on by myself.
Using guides, a good idea. Usually lining up these little pumps and getting bolts or screws to hold are not a problem. The o rings usually stay in place. I put that ring I pinched late on a Sunday night. It kept trying to jump out on me. You bring lots of valuable experience with you into HVAC. All mechanical jobs blend together in some places.
just get threaded rod or longer bolts and cut the heads off. even the factory ones with heads cut off would probably work, only put them in a few threads so they stick out plenty
The great Hacker always is great at finding problems and repairing them !!
Thanks Ted

Good repair Hackster ...
Thanks, not what I wanted to wake up to. Yet a pump repair instead of replace video is always good
Why do the o-rings come in 2 different shapes? Is there a reason to use one or the other?
you'll have to fire the plumber for flooding the basement =p
Looks like a bronze series pump!
You had me at Taco
Typical hack job by the ultimate hacker
