I love the way this is presented. Straight to the point yet funny. I’ve been practicing these for an hour a day for about a week and it’s not only given me a cool trick to wow my friends but it’s completely expanded my perspective on navigating the fretboard. Thank you so much.
I'm a big fan of a lot of tutorial channels on YT but none have improved my guitar playing like your videos have. Choice of licks, easy to read tabs, no 5 minute rambles before the tutorial starts, amazing editing, amazing tone, cat, I could go on forever.
I love that diminished 7 arpeggio, you play it so surprisingly clean without a fret wrap for muting, mine come out very unclean w/o one. Kudos man, you sound fantastic.
Stumble on your channel and just watched all your content/downloaded every thing from your website . Dude you are a very kind person for sharing your amazing skills for free . Thank you !
Your stuff is amazing man. I don't know why you are not famous. Your video and audio production both are amazing man. I am getting inspired by you and i am watching your videos again and again. Thanks sirrr
This is a great lesson, but just a tip for the beginners who are just starting to learn tapping licks... practice while holding a pick. Transitioning from using the pick, to finger tapping, and then back to picking can be tricky if you don't hold a pick while you practice. I use my middle finger to tap while I hold the pick with my pointer and thumb, makes for quick and easy transition. If you practice using your pointer for tapping it's going to be harder when you actually try to add those licks into your solos seamlessly... or you'll just drop the pick a lot :P
Yea I mean really its whatever you're comfortable with, but I remember the first time I tried to add a tapping lick into an improv solo at band practice, I dropped the pick because I wasn't used to tapping while holding it lol then I had to kind of reconfigure my technique. This was an awesome lesson though, my playing was getting stale and I saw your video and it just opened up doors in my head that have been closed for a while... was jamming all last night with some fresh ideas thanks to you! :)
This is definitely one of the coolest techniques and one that I've been putting off learning for a long time because it looks intimidating lol. They're easier than they look, though. Thanks for the lesson.
Im going through the sweep excercises from your previous video, and it is definitely helping. This tapping video is the next challenge. I wanted to ask: could you make a video teaching how to utilize sweeps and tapped sweeping together, or how to piece sweeps patterns with other taps/riffs/sweeps. The extended tabs are perfect too. Maybe have part of a song going into the sweeping. Sometimes idk when to apply sweeping/tapping I definitely enjoy your editing in these videos!
oh man that is quite harder than it looks at first. skipping the string is what gave me the most trouble still struggling a bit. but im still getting used to the activeemg/sustaniac as well this thing is nuts, fun to play around with but moderately difficult to control! thanks man great tutorial love the aesthetics of the video as well.
David Bartles thanks! yea I agree it’s pretty tricky at first. Good thing is i feel like the same movement translates to a lot of different shapes so that’s a big plus
Great arpeggios, and I love the tabs so I can follow along! A bit of advice for you who tap: Use your middle finger to tap, not your index finger, because you have to shift your pick to another part of your hand to tap, and then back when you want to resume picking. This makes it easy to fumble your pick, and it inevitably can mess up timing. Always maintain your picking position and simply use your middle finger to tap!
Unless you want to be fancy like Michael Romeo and flick ya pick whilst shredding to use index tap at lightning speed. I tried it one time, gave up. No need, middle finger is good
Right now my skill level is on par with that cat in that computer but once I practice these challenges I will level up and become a champion. Love the videos! Thanks so much 🙏🙏
Props to you man you don't use that lame ass hairband / fretwrap that most tappers use. They say it ain't cheating but it's actually cheating in my book, nothing beats a good muting technique! gets you far
Dude, practicing your videos improve my guitar playing! I'll definitely practice this one, cause the last one (5 sweep picking exercises) helped me out a lot. Thanks lml
I love that he didn't stop and TALK like so many youtube guitar teachers........"ok guys...so first you take your index finger and you're going to place it on the 5th fret on the A string.....and remember to...."
tip for anyone just starting to do these - do these with your pick in your hand. if you're playing a song/ performing, chances are that you're going to have to immediately switch between the two
Which would you pick for future videos?
1) Guitar tutorial content (like this),
2) Video production tutorials or
3) Audio production tutorials
Guitar tutorial content ;)
Tutorial content for sure.
1
Guitar content pls
guitar tutorial content like this, (although the video stuff is really cool)
Now this is quality content.
😎
@@clinttustin Thank YOU!
I love how you don’t talk too much, strait to the guitar! Legend.
Been playing 56 years, really enjoyed the lesson!!
Me too. I've been playing since 1978 and still shredding away!
I love the way this is presented. Straight to the point yet funny. I’ve been practicing these for an hour a day for about a week and it’s not only given me a cool trick to wow my friends but it’s completely expanded my perspective on navigating the fretboard. Thank you so much.

Really Cool tapping, but I'm more impressed of how you edit your videos, its so cinematic or whatever you wanna call it!
thanks! that's what i'm going for
Pretty sure he's just using pre made transitioning effects
I love that diminished 7 arpeggio, you play it so surprisingly clean without a fret wrap for muting, mine come out very unclean w/o one. Kudos man, you sound fantastic.
Agreed! Mine come out super messy/blurry - how do you control/mute the sound so well, when moving form one chord to another? :o
Right & left hand tricks.. Timing is the key. Use the palm of your right hand to mute unwanted string vibrations
Less talk, more demo, now this is tutorial that im looking for!
I love the confidence. No fret warp nothing. Pure skill.
Wow the not only is the editing great, but you just added a new building block to this guys playing and saved me a lot of time : D
Stumble on your channel and just watched all your content/downloaded every thing from your website . Dude you are a very kind person for sharing your amazing skills for free . Thank you !
I learned a couple new things I didn't know. It really helps that you break it down with the tabs and slow it down. Love it!
Your stuff is amazing man. I don't know why you are not famous. Your video and audio production both are amazing man. I am getting inspired by you and i am watching your videos again and again. Thanks sirrr
I just found this channel... And instantly whispered ...I have never been so good to deserve this ...

nate means true! I use both but the middle finger makes more sense no doubt

Huge help man, ive never played arpegios before and this got my feet wet. You the man.
Este canal debería de tener más suscriptores, he mejorado considerablemente con tus ejercicios, gracias.
The video editing skills are the highlight here though…cool licks, clear and clean…great job!
This is definitely one of the coolest techniques and one that I've been putting off learning for a long time because it looks intimidating lol. They're easier than they look, though. Thanks for the lesson.

You are an excellent guitar player. You play beautifully and you give good lessons. Thank you so much.

Joe H. Or you could be a mad man like IA Eklundh and use your thumb and middle finger for holding the pick
Unless you want to be fancy like Michael Romeo and flick ya pick whilst shredding to use index tap at lightning speed. I tried it one time, gave up. No need, middle finger is good
