    Great video, thank you guys. When I was a kid a long long long long long time ago, I had a PT-19 control line. Had a ball with that thing. My Dad made me a stick controller so I didnt have turn in circles, I could sit outside the circle. I thought I was so cool, lol.

      Thanks again Adam!!! We do have the unbox, build, and radio setup coming, basically later this week. The upload wasn't done when we wanted to release this video, so we decided we have to do it this way :(... BUT it was a GREAT BUILD!!!! Super easy, and super FAST!!!!!!

    Another Great Video Brian. And as for me that is just what I do. When I'm ready to buy a certain plane that catches my eye, I type it into RUclips and check the videos and as always, I find yours the most informative and with the full format you have put yourself way over the top of all others that just continue to push these shorts. Keep it up and keep that #1 position.
    Also, thanks Magan for the camera work .. Ps ..... Guys use Brians links to buy a lot easier than searching yourself!!!

    Brian honestly I have never ever seen anyone demonstrate the PT19 so beautifully.
    You need to film it again but with music make those gorgeous wide loops and rolls and corn holes combinations.
    BTW the 6s flew more balanced throught your maneuvers.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад +1

      Thanks!!! I think you're right about the 6S - maybe the additional power helped to keep more control authority while inverted, and at or near stalls.

Man, I really been trying to resist this plane due to the fact I don’t really “need” it. Your not helping….LOL. I have one of those spouses that doesn’t support my RC habit but she ok with me doing it. As far as costs go, I figure ignorance is bliss. haha. Anyway, keep pushing these RC planes. Great Video. I am struggeling with this „fun scale“. I would love to have flaps on it. Anyway. I think I want to have it in my collection. Brian, I am not sure. Could it be that you ride the stick a bit to much, thats why it is so fast? I mean, yes. balsa, weight etc is always faster than foam. But how is the stall behaviour? Is it possible to go off the throttle much earlier? Btw love your summary at the end of this video.

    I have a old flight line PT17 with a Cox nitro motor. The little Cox motors can be a pain in the but to get running right.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад

      Yeah, but you can fly for a long long time on a tiny bit of nitro!

    • @pajamamar2011
      @pajamamar2011 2 года назад

      After awhile, those motors get all gummed up by the castor oil after a time the oil gets rancid and sticky and the after-flight clean-up is a chore and the normal burning out of the glow heads.. I had a plane and 2 copters from Cox.
      I'm not into nitro. Too messy.

    What happened to the power line in front of your house? How did you manage to get them removed or installed underground?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +1

      We battled with the utility for about 8-9 months, but ultimately paid another $24,263 to do this. This was on top of the $35,000 ($25,000 our share) we paid for the lines to be installed about 3.5 years ago. This was yet another example of how a protected monopoly can really screw over the land owner. We're still very glad to be able to get them buried, but since they refused to bid the service underground initially, we were notable upset that we basically had to pay to install it all again.

  • @deandagner

      Thanks! The 4K really helps, but I still want better image quality. Megan keeps the planes in frame, but lose a lot of fidelity with zooming. I'd like to find an optical zoom we can clamp on our smart phone, and still have it work. These smart phones have AMAZING cameras, until you zoom, then you get a lot lower quality cameras.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 года назад

      Only $24,263, paid in full before they would schedule the work.
      Also, keep in mind, this was in addition to the ~$35,000 we paid only a few short years about (3 year) when we were REFUSED a bid for underground service, despite this being "illegal" (against the "Tariff" they were obligated to operate under). Yep, protected monopolies at your service! Also, we couldn't keep any of the wire to sell for scrap, or any of the poles that we had JUST paid in full for...since that gets deeded to the company when you get service...even though we got no credit for any of this part. We have been fighting them since January of 2022, exercising every possible complaint short of arbitration or a law suit, even up to a formal complaint with the board of utilities (this took about 2.5 months), where we learned that the IBU believed we "didn't have standing" to complain they failed to bid underground service 3.5-4 years ago when the at time field engineer Bruce failed to bid stating "We didn't want to know how much it would cost for underground service". Keep in mind, WE INITIATED THIS PRIMARY SERVICE REQUEST, which we later had to pass off to the land owner, who was selling us the lot, since he was the only one at the time that could ORDER service changes, but everyone knows, WE PAID FOR IT (and to be fair, it was only about 1/3 of it at the time - $10,000, but later we ended up having paid ANOTHER 1/3 or slightly better when we bought the other property - for which we ALSO had been the first call to request primary service under or over it, since it was between us (our house) and the end of the road where the service was already available.
      So, basically, our only recourse was to fight, and we negotiated some money back when they admitted they erred in fleecing us into paying for the 9th, last, and totally unnecessary pole at the end of our street - the one that our neighbors had to look at for NO REASON, that spoiled their beautiful views for NO REASON. This was to minimize the cost the utility would bear if someone added to the power later, down the road...which is unlikely, but even if it happened, THEY would have been responsible, not us. This was worth a bit of "discount" as they claimed, but this discount, was admission of guilt, and we'll certainly use later when we find enough money or some great lawyer who wants to represent us in our suit against them. BUT, for now, we have to pay and pay we did. This is not totally unlike what we did when we first had to pay for overhead service. They basically refused to bid what we wanted, and they knew that we couldn't just wait around forever. We had set timelines to operate within for our "due diligence" period (where you can get bids for utility work before you buy property), and even after that, we had builder waiting for power to work (they didn't want to work on generators...and would have charged a considerable amount to do so). The utility will do this to a land owner or buyer in their due diligence period. They'll force you to make a decision, knowing full well, you have NO OTHER CHOICE, then knowing that they have the Board of Utilities to back them up, when they do it. As you know, we can't just wait into perpetuity for things to happen. I'm not going to waste years or decades waiting for them to change their mind, or admit their guilt, while I lose access to a safe landing strip, so we'll have to just pay up, then deal with it later.
      Know any good lawyers? ;)
      P.S. Ironically, the people at the utility have been wonderful to work with through this whole process, less one guy who decided to yell at our solar company across the yard, and scared the crap out of my wife - which made me more than a little angry - he was put in his place, and we shook, and went our separate ways. I think he felt pretty bad knowing how bad his company had screwed our family, after I told him about it...and I know everyone has a bad day from time to time.

      I wouldn't suggest it. It's a quality plane that you could fly as a 3rd or 4th plane, no problem with SAFE, but it's also still pretty dang expensive to outfit for a beginner plane that, to be frank, is gonna get torn up.

    Why are the powerlines gone

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  Год назад +1

      We had them put the primary service underground for a few reasons, the most important of which was my safety in flying PPG (powered paragliding) and also my plans for flying ultralight(s), and if all goes to plan - eventually GA aircraft from the full scale strip on the back portion of our property.
      In the mean time, I'll enjoy the clear flying area for RC, and the beautiful view we thought we were going to have when we bought this place ;)
      ...and there's the fact that we paid $24,263 to have the service relocated. This was after a $35,000 bill from three years ago to get the primary service ran down the road. They refused to bid underground service when we requested a quote, and since we were building our home, we had to get things working. We've been fighting about the price since January 2022 or so, but we extinguished all our possible remedies short of arbitration or a law suits, and I didn't want to wait another 2-3 years to deal with that crap, so we just paid the insane price and had them get the work done. We can and probably will fight them some day over their mistake leading to our burdensome cost, but for now, we wanted the service moved.
