Unbox, Build, & Radio Setup is now published - Check it out here - ruclips.net/video/FLEKG-ULVwc/видео.html (sorry for the delay!)
Great video, thank you guys. When I was a kid a long long long long long time ago, I had a PT-19 control line. Had a ball with that thing. My Dad made me a stick controller so I didnt have turn in circles, I could sit outside the circle. I thought I was so cool, lol.
Cox PT-19! I loved that little control line plane. Have great memories flying it with my dad as well. 😁
@@JustPlaneNutzRC very cool, was it Cox ?
Cox engine? Plastic plane? My older brother had one, loved the smell of the exhaust. I think Cox had their own fuel but I can't remember anymore
That is a BEAUTIFUL Airplane! Thanks for your informative and detailed videos, I for one appreciate the longer videos. Your Wife does a amazing job filming everything from your flying to you working on your Aircraft, naturally you're a helluva RC Pilot! Have a awesome day!
Thanks again Adam!!! We do have the unbox, build, and radio setup coming, basically later this week. The upload wasn't done when we wanted to release this video, so we decided we have to do it this way :(... BUT it was a GREAT BUILD!!!! Super easy, and super FAST!!!!!!
Another Great Video Brian. And as for me that is just what I do. When I'm ready to buy a certain plane that catches my eye, I type it into RUclips and check the videos and as always, I find yours the most informative and with the full format you have put yourself way over the top of all others that just continue to push these shorts. Keep it up and keep that #1 position.
Also, thanks Magan for the camera work .. Ps ..... Guys use Brians links to buy a lot easier than searching yourself!!!
Right on! Thanks, and we do try hard to give the most information as we can, while also helping share our opinions at the same time. We appreciate you being here, and when you're getting ready to spend some cash, we can be "cheap insurance" ;)
Thanks!
Thanks for your support! We appreciate it!
That, sir, was amazing.
Thank you kindly! Love this plane, and hope you get one!!!
Had this model as a "fly by string" when I was 12? (1965). Can't wait to see the Unbox and Build video!
We heard that a bunch of guys had control line PT-19's years ago. If you had one, you gotta get this one!!!
That thing looks and fly's awesome. 6S really woke it up. Love the look of the wood prop.
Nice flying Brian 🔥👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks, and yeah - but I'm torn...kinda want to find another WOOD prop that I can run on 6S. Not sure it exists.
As the new self proclaimed RC video critic, your "Camera Crew" wins the Oscar for (videograph, cinematography) or best camera work?. I watched so many flight videos lately where your lucky to see the aircraft in flight 50% of the time. She (they) do an awesome job! Great video!
Thank you sincerely! I agree with your sentiment - she is great!
Super cool that the power lines are moved under ground
yeah, it cost more than a new car...but I guess when your life is on the line, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and spend some cash.
Super glad we made this move, and hope it works out the way we plan. This is all part of a much larger vision ;)
Brian honestly I have never ever seen anyone demonstrate the PT19 so beautifully.
You need to film it again but with music make those gorgeous wide loops and rolls and corn holes combinations.
BTW the 6s flew more balanced throught your maneuvers.
Thanks!!! I think you're right about the 6S - maybe the additional power helped to keep more control authority while inverted, and at or near stalls.
The passion was real in this video😂😝🤭
100% thanks ;)
So stable, very nice, one of my favorites!
She sure is!
Nice video and beautiful model! :)
Best regards Brian!
DUDE!! That’s awesome the lines came down!!! I look forward to the “Rc plane flying bonanza celebration” video lol…. I’m definitely not using a Jedi mind trick 😂
Yes, they did - I've been working on it since January 2022!
What a beautiful bird!
Nice video! Great looking plane! That must be nice to have the telephone lines gone!
Thanks, and very much is!
Beautiful balsa model and excellent video, as always! I'm so happy for you that the power lines and poles are gone. I bet you are going to love it once you get used to them being gone. I hope you are planning to move your tall windsock.
Thanks, and we will love it - already love it, but like you said, it's strange but I DO have to get used to it.
I did get the DA 18,,, good to hear the battery size, thanks
Yes - same if you're flying on 4S 5000mAh - which is PERFECT for the D18
Congrats on finally getting the power lines removed! It only took them what, 8 months?
The 4S prop looks comically large. This plane reminds me of something I built with a Flite Test kit that was supposed to be a Mustang :) Hangar 9 makes nice balsa planes.
Actually, we were fighting over $$$ for about 5.5 months of it...the rest was waiting on scheduling the crews. They did it in about 2.5 weeks and about 0.5 day for taking everything DOWN ;) 7X Bucket trucks - that part was FAST
thank you for all your video
You're welcome. Thank YOU for watching them nouailhas!
Very nice plane. Great flying :)
Thanks Jim! She's a beauty!
Looks good with out the power lines and poles. I'm sure it's nice to not have to worry about hitting them anymore. 😁
100% but it's kinda weird - my brain is like, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!", when I try to fly where they were...I almost CAN'T do it. I hope this will come with some time.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Haha yeah you will eventually get used to dodging non-existent objects. 😁
Nice airplane good flying think I'll buy that one the power lines being gone is cool 👍
Excellent choice, and yeah - loving it!
Another great video. Congrats on the power pole delete! Looks awesome
Bryan. No more power lines? Oh how sad. You removed one of your biggest challenges of flying at home field. 😆. Man, I really been trying to resist this plane due to the fact I don’t really “need” it. Your not helping….LOL. I have one of those spouses that doesn’t support my RC habit but she ok with me doing it. As far as costs go, I figure ignorance is bliss. haha. Anyway, keep pushing these RC planes. I really enjoy the shows when I get a minute or two to watch. Take care out there. Brad 👋
Please, YOLO - OR if you're married, YOL'edO - You Only LivED Once - LOL ;)
Thanks Brad - This is a great plane by the way! I wasn't as excited about this as "the brand" probably wanted me too be, since I had the P-47 Fun Scale in recent memory, but as it turns out, this plane has been everything I WANTED the P-47 to be, that it wasn't.
Glad you're here with us still!!!
Great Video. I am struggeling with this „fun scale“. I would love to have flaps on it. Anyway. I think I want to have it in my collection. Brian, I am not sure. Could it be that you ride the stick a bit to much, thats why it is so fast? I mean, yes. balsa, weight etc is always faster than foam. But how is the stall behaviour? Is it possible to go off the throttle much earlier? Btw love your summary at the end of this video.
I have a old flight line PT17 with a Cox nitro motor. The little Cox motors can be a pain in the but to get running right.
Yeah, but you can fly for a long long time on a tiny bit of nitro!
After awhile, those motors get all gummed up by the castor oil after a time the oil gets rancid and sticky and the after-flight clean-up is a chore and the normal burning out of the glow heads.. I had a plane and 2 copters from Cox.
I'm not into nitro. Too messy.
Brian didn't paid his electricity bill, that's why they removed the power lines 😁😀
Happy Halloween @ Brian, his Family and all RC pilots here! 🎃🎃🎃
Happy Halloween
LOL - Exactly the opposite - I paid one more HUGE bill!!!
What happened to the power line in front of your house? How did you manage to get them removed or installed underground?
We battled with the utility for about 8-9 months, but ultimately paid another $24,263 to do this. This was on top of the $35,000 ($25,000 our share) we paid for the lines to be installed about 3.5 years ago. This was yet another example of how a protected monopoly can really screw over the land owner. We're still very glad to be able to get them buried, but since they refused to bid the service underground initially, we were notable upset that we basically had to pay to install it all again.
Man I bet you're super excited about not having the power lines!! Definitely one less thing to think/worry about.
That freakin aircraft is gorgeous! Looks like A Looooooot of fun! I also just wanna say yalls videos have been looking very very good. I know you got that new camera, but just wanted to lyk that it does look so good. Thanks for the video!!
Thanks! The 4K really helps, but I still want better image quality. Megan keeps the planes in frame, but lose a lot of fidelity with zooming. I'd like to find an optical zoom we can clamp on our smart phone, and still have it work. These smart phones have AMAZING cameras, until you zoom, then you get a lot lower quality cameras.
Great video as always. WOOHOO no more powerlines....
OHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I keep watching this video cause I love this plane!
It be really cool with a kolm or os engine!...
You Just Rule Mate!
Gimme Half Your Skills.
Beauty BP&Co, YUMM!!
LOL - thanks!!!
Hi Brian, another great video. I loved your Ted talk on flying rc fixed wing at the end. I have some great fms, eflite and arrows planes....but couple of months ago I got a second hand unboxed dynam...yes dynam, albatros ww1 fighter for 100 dollars. Most reviews on you tube said it flies badly and is a bitch to build. I had no problems building, it looks great and it flies like a dream , and i got about 30 spare screws...go figure. Don't you just love this hobby. Andy in uk.
You are becoming an amazing pilot I'd be so nervous flying this first time cause I'd hate to crash a 500 dollar plane I just got that is this beautiful I always get nervous on every maiden
This is cool, I fly a scale pt-19!
I love your flying style. As soon your children get into this hobby, you will get a wild card from your wife to invest more than one model... 🙂
LOL - we already have 4 kids, and the oldest flies all the time ;) He is good, but doesn't quite understand how amazing an opportunity it really is to LIVE in a hobby shop - seriously...
Nice job. My dad had one. Paid $1,500 for it in the late 60s. Lol.
I bet he did. These were crazy expensive as ARF's so this as a PNP is a great value.
Super video as usual
Thanks again
W@@W That Is Totally Weird, NO MORE POWERLINES! Too C@@L... Thanks 😁😎
I know!!! It's so strange, actually, but also wonderful!!!! Wish it wasn't so dang expensive, but glad it's done.
You need a goal post or a flag pole out there now. Something to challenge your approaches. Just kidding. Looks way better now.
LOL - I was thinking of moving the wind sock pole to a different spot once they're done with finish work on the primary service move...which is now done (less some touch ups I'm fighting to get completed - minor stuff, really)
Would you recommend this or the h9 p47 pnp as an all-round flyer
PT-19 for sure!
Nice plane I have one balsa plane may have to add this one, still waiting on build video
This plane is way better than I expected!!! Kinda makes me want to get a bigger one, and possibly plop a gas engine in it ;)
I would love to see that
This is a Great Planes models because I got the same plane. But mine was a ARF
It is almost exactly the same, but I bet you had a heck of a lot more than $450 (inflation adjusted) in it - this is sold as an PNP!
What happened to the unbox and build? Love what you guys do keep it up
It's uploaded, and we'll publish it soon. Sorry for the delay, sometimes our unbox, build, radio setup takes a lot longer to upload than the flights, so we miss our release times - super frustrating, but such is life on RUclips ;(
You the man
Better on wood prop and 4s in my opinion!
YES, I think the looks alone might be worth it...and I don't need to scream by at 100 mph with this plane. I love the way this one flew.
Brain, i would like to see a Extreme Flight 60inch Model, they are easy to build and have a very nice performance. Trust me you will love it. The Extra NG is a very good choice.
That would be cool!
Great you got the poles and wires down, how’d you pull that off?!…😂
Fought with them for about 7 months, and wrote eventually wrote them a $24,263 check. What a farce, right?
Brian, I don’t see the power lines, are they gone?
Congratulations!
Yes, and thanks!
That’s awesome power lines are gone
100% totally excited about it. We're finally seeing the view we thought we were buying, but we didn't take them down for that reason only...we wanted to give me a better crack at living for takeoff and landing with my PPG, and later my ultralight planes from the back lot, when we build the full scale runway
It'll be cool for came in a kit. I love building the airplanes flying not so much
LOL - this is the opposite of my experience, but later in life, I believe the roles will flip ;)
You can get kits, but they're hard to find.
How did you get them to remove the power lines ??
Fought with them for 8-9 months over the details, but eventually paid our utility $24,263 to move the primary service underground.
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Nice job. So much better.
Love your channel, very entertaining
Keep on Flying RC in the Free World !!!!! gotta go! gonna catch a pearl and ride the Dragon's Wing.....up...up...and away cough! cough!
At it again, Mr Reynolds - LOL!
two of the videos on this playlist are marked private and I can't view them.
Sorry about that! It took a little longer to get the Unbox, Build and Radio Setup uploaded. They should be released and viewable soon!
Why did they take the powerlines down? Not that I know that really made you angry or anything!!...lol
They took down the power lines because I paid them tens of thousands of dollars to do it...
@@BrianPhillipsRC LOL...Well money can get most of our wishes granted!!
Wonderful no power lines. Did they charge you for that?
Only $24,263, paid in full before they would schedule the work.
Also, keep in mind, this was in addition to the ~$35,000 we paid only a few short years about (3 year) when we were REFUSED a bid for underground service, despite this being "illegal" (against the "Tariff" they were obligated to operate under). Yep, protected monopolies at your service! Also, we couldn't keep any of the wire to sell for scrap, or any of the poles that we had JUST paid in full for...since that gets deeded to the company when you get service...even though we got no credit for any of this part. We have been fighting them since January of 2022, exercising every possible complaint short of arbitration or a law suit, even up to a formal complaint with the board of utilities (this took about 2.5 months), where we learned that the IBU believed we "didn't have standing" to complain they failed to bid underground service 3.5-4 years ago when the at time field engineer Bruce failed to bid stating "We didn't want to know how much it would cost for underground service". Keep in mind, WE INITIATED THIS PRIMARY SERVICE REQUEST, which we later had to pass off to the land owner, who was selling us the lot, since he was the only one at the time that could ORDER service changes, but everyone knows, WE PAID FOR IT (and to be fair, it was only about 1/3 of it at the time - $10,000, but later we ended up having paid ANOTHER 1/3 or slightly better when we bought the other property - for which we ALSO had been the first call to request primary service under or over it, since it was between us (our house) and the end of the road where the service was already available.
So, basically, our only recourse was to fight, and we negotiated some money back when they admitted they erred in fleecing us into paying for the 9th, last, and totally unnecessary pole at the end of our street - the one that our neighbors had to look at for NO REASON, that spoiled their beautiful views for NO REASON. This was to minimize the cost the utility would bear if someone added to the power later, down the road...which is unlikely, but even if it happened, THEY would have been responsible, not us. This was worth a bit of "discount" as they claimed, but this discount, was admission of guilt, and we'll certainly use later when we find enough money or some great lawyer who wants to represent us in our suit against them. BUT, for now, we have to pay and pay we did. This is not totally unlike what we did when we first had to pay for overhead service. They basically refused to bid what we wanted, and they knew that we couldn't just wait around forever. We had set timelines to operate within for our "due diligence" period (where you can get bids for utility work before you buy property), and even after that, we had builder waiting for power to work (they didn't want to work on generators...and would have charged a considerable amount to do so). The utility will do this to a land owner or buyer in their due diligence period. They'll force you to make a decision, knowing full well, you have NO OTHER CHOICE, then knowing that they have the Board of Utilities to back them up, when they do it. As you know, we can't just wait into perpetuity for things to happen. I'm not going to waste years or decades waiting for them to change their mind, or admit their guilt, while I lose access to a safe landing strip, so we'll have to just pay up, then deal with it later.
Know any good lawyers? ;)
P.S. Ironically, the people at the utility have been wonderful to work with through this whole process, less one guy who decided to yell at our solar company across the yard, and scared the crap out of my wife - which made me more than a little angry - he was put in his place, and we shook, and went our separate ways. I think he felt pretty bad knowing how bad his company had screwed our family, after I told him about it...and I know everyone has a bad day from time to time.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Holy shit
You ever made any effort to ground those lines b/f you built and/or moved into the house?
Hey Brian love your video looking from Denmark and i bought 2 of the plane you showed in your video
Keep up the good work. By the way what happens to all the plane you put together, if you keep them you soon have to buy a bigger house😅😅
We keep them. The basement is getting really full!!!
That plane does not need 6s. Fly it more scale on 4s.
I like the way it works on 4S!!!
Power lines are gone sweet
yeah!!!!
Been doing this sense 1966. So just the cost of the plane.
I'm not sure if you're asking a quesiton or making a statement, so I can't help too much Mike - sorry!
Been doing this sense 1966. (Got it)
So just the cost of the plane. - ??? (there's a link in the description...prices change so I don't talk about them on the video except in rare circumstances.)
Hey Brian. Just wanted to say that. So. Hey.
Hey Casey. Hey, we hay our property, if you weren't aware - Do you want to buy some Hay?
wow. no powerlines anymore?!?
yep, they are GONE!!!!!! Ohhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh
wow no more power lines :)
100% So glad too ;)
Can a beginner get away with that plane as first plane? I want it!
I wouldn't suggest it. It's a quality plane that you could fly as a 3rd or 4th plane, no problem with SAFE, but it's also still pretty dang expensive to outfit for a beginner plane that, to be frank, is gonna get torn up.
Here's some better BEGINNER choices we recommend all the time.

@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks for the reply! Love the channel. This is the most helpful rc plane oriented channel I've ever seen!
No you didn't, yes you did another balsa plane🤯
yes!
Why are the powerlines gone
We had them put the primary service underground for a few reasons, the most important of which was my safety in flying PPG (powered paragliding) and also my plans for flying ultralight(s), and if all goes to plan - eventually GA aircraft from the full scale strip on the back portion of our property.
In the mean time, I'll enjoy the clear flying area for RC, and the beautiful view we thought we were going to have when we bought this place ;)
...and there's the fact that we paid $24,263 to have the service relocated. This was after a $35,000 bill from three years ago to get the primary service ran down the road. They refused to bid underground service when we requested a quote, and since we were building our home, we had to get things working. We've been fighting about the price since January 2022 or so, but we extinguished all our possible remedies short of arbitration or a law suits, and I didn't want to wait another 2-3 years to deal with that crap, so we just paid the insane price and had them get the work done. We can and probably will fight them some day over their mistake leading to our burdensome cost, but for now, we wanted the service moved.
@@BrianPhillipsRC glad you got it sorted
