A Domestic Violence Survivor's Story

Recently, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced the sentencing of former firefighter Eric Jones. Jones was sentenced to 10 and half years in prison for setting his ex-girlfriend’s home on fire while her son was inside. After talking to the victim in this case, we’ve learned the abuse began before he set her home on fire. Chanel Bowman shares her story of survival so that other women will get the courage to leave and seek help.

Sharing like this makes the difference. You are a shining star lighting the night so that others can see a SURVIVER & A THRIVER. Active & ongoing abuse eventually permeates the "target" of that abuse. It drags u down, steals your gladness, not to mention your dignity, strips a person of their personal gifts + endeavors, until that person suffocates from the toxicity. It is impossible to thrive and grow in an abusive setting. It's wild how much comfort + validation you give to others who resignate with you. Moreover, it brings more awareness to the general population.Several things you said...helps to know that someone out there really understands. Thank you for your honesty, bc it opens the gate for others to relate with these things. GOD BLESS YOU. The fruits of & vigor for LIFE do not dwell in the darkness itself.
