Hi Misha, nice video! Btw could you shed some light on why actullay this is a lap record? It looks like the internet just doesn't count the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo run in 2018. What is the problem with the Porsche's run?
I'm not Misha but I think I can answer that. It's a production car lap record. Porsche 919 Evo is not a production car, so does VW ID R, Lotus Evija X, NIO EP9, and any race car you can think of.
100%. They gave us an "F1" engine that no one loves. The amount of effort and headaches this presented could have been traded for something totally memorable. On the other hand, they've ventured into uncharted territory with this project, and it's scary to think what AMG have learned in this process.
I think the new curb cost about a tenth of maybe 2 tenths. You used to be able to cut the left kurb but now you can’t as it’s too high, so you have lose speed to go wide and avoid the kurb
i'm sure there is more laptime to gain ... as a few people already said it feels that this lap was around 80-85%. On a even warmer day, a little bit bigger battery (which you could upgrade over time) and more risk there are about 2-3 sec in it ?! I would love to see what it can do on slicks / full race tyres 🙌 with the old weight spec - without that EU regulations it also was a lot lighter which would also helped. But at the end: very impressive and a great car 👍 I'm happy to have sat in one
If Koenigsegg get the chassis really correct, for the 1420 kg (pretty full tank?) weight and high downforce that they claim, being RWD only like the GT2RS MR but 900 hp more...what might their Jesko Attack achieve? I know power only helps over a cetain speed where the GT2RS driver would be asking for more than 100% torque, but if well managed, it would help a significant amount. God, how much I want to see a confirmed 400+ kph down Dottinger Hoehe... Jesko attack will be draggy, but supposedly Agera R already did it.
I don’t think they will attempt. They are like Pagani - they claim ultra high performance without benchmarking their cars. They have to guarantee that a measurement will match their brand image, and at this point, cars like the GT2RS MR can turn a track time that’s too close to a seven-figure car.
@@matthewcurtis3759 ...koenigsegg does benchmark their cars. They've held the top speed production car wr more than once, and there's onboard laps at multiple circuits in some of their models. Look up the jesko at laguna seca or the one:1 at spa

How much time left on the table? Think some braking areas dodnt brake as hard and alot of corners left some speed on the table again. But car bottoms out alot also
We need ever more stuff for car nerds! The talking is the most important part, we know every single tree on the track, but those information are not something that we can find out by ourselfs.
That car is a lot faster than GT3 cars. The question would be if it has enough battery to run the full lap and if the aero fan downforce is stable enough on the camber and rougher sections of the ring
For as far as I have seen it is as fast as F3 cars in 50% mode, as fast as F2 cars in 75% mode and as fast as F1 in 100% mode... But I think the mcMurtry Speirling would be very dangerous on the Nordschleife, because it is dependent on its suction. And on the bumpy nordschleife there is to much risk that suction will be lost in which case the extremely fast MS would truely would become a rockship... In the literal sense..
@@rientsdijkstra4266 Very dependent on the generation of f1 car in question. On a conventional circuit, the sperling would be outmatched by most modern f1 car.
When will we get a porshe with active aero ? :D I guess it is the biggest advantage cause you do not have the drag on the strights and have the downforce in the turns.
Was a great lap. But I’d like to know why the Rimac was so slow. That has way more power and individual wheel control should enable great cornering. Top speed was limited but tyres but to 350kph. I expect more
Don't we all want that to happen? :-D It's around 300-350 kg lighter, but RWD. It's got insane 1600 hp on that rear axle though... How good ar they making the traction control and chassis? The aero seems to be at GT3RS levels, the weight is similar or lower. 1100 hp extra... A really amazing driver needs to be able to pin teh throttle and the car to work out the traction. It DOES have a really fancy torque distribution system, so it might well hold traction, if well programmed, through the bump and kinks between 'Ring corners. 1600 hp down Dottinger Hoehe...what to expect? Did Agera R really do 402 kph there? Can you keep it pinned under the Bridge? 400 kph is almost double the kinetic energy of 300 kph. 16:9 ratio.
@@Cloxxki Damn what an amazing answer. I really appreciate it! I think depending how much time is saved with that power it would suprise me if it was in the ball park of beating the amg one, atleast on paper.

Power to weight ration of this 2 cars almost the same...porsch is lighter and has less power, but when you translate to powe/weight ration its for both car almost the same 2.8+kg/kW....
Luvv how the entry speed for first corner left is always the same in every golf every motorcycle and also the amg one its all exacly 80 for a split second.. After that the power and downforce do the rest at speed but funny to notice
Considering that the GT2 RS MR didn't have active aero with DRS I think it's possible that the new gen of the GT2 might shave off a lot seconds if they don't add weight and bump the power to +800hp, which its engine is totally able to take without additional heavy modifications. It'd be nice for a proper goodbye to the last internal combustion engine powered Porsche cars. My take is that it'll do below 6:28 but I don't want to sound like a fanboy either. 100%. They gave us an "F1" engine that no one loves. The amount of effort and headaches this presented could have been traded for something totally memorable.
On the other hand, they've ventured into uncharted territory with this project, and it's scary to think what AMG have learned in this process.
14 rpm? you want the engines they had on the titanic?
@@hertzwave8001 all the torque bruv, just imagine.
Being a fast race engine of course it was intended 14 in place of 14000 for sake of brevity. But it sound funny indeed 😅
This just makes me more excited to see what the upcoming 992 GT2 RS will be capable of
wait, this was with the "ugly curve" out of foxhole. How much time does this one cost vs. how it was before? also i think the car is quite heavy
I think the new curb cost about a tenth of maybe 2 tenths. You used to be able to cut the left kurb but now you can’t as it’s too high, so you have lose speed to go wide and avoid the kurb
just from seeing the differnce between damp run and dry run you would know that they could've done better.
Jajajajaja “a real k swap can do” got me bad jajajajajjaja😂
Great video! I know the goal here is best lap, but how would it compare to a GT3RS in a race of many laps?
would love to see a walkthrough from you of the Porsche 919 EVO hybrid’s lap record run. ❤💯🔥
i'm sure there is more laptime to gain ... as a few people already said it feels that this lap was around 80-85%.
It a epic car. The sound give me the chills
just curious whats the best time he has ever lapped the ring with a production car?
By the way, do they have to drive through the Karussell? Sometimes i think that cars like this would be quicker on the outside.
Next time I go through I'll try the outside and let you know.
We all know from the bottom of our hearts that Mr 7:09 would have done 6:15 or something like that with such a machine 😂😂😂. Jokes aside: what a lap ❤
@@matthewcurtis3759 What are you talking about.. They benchmarked the Agera at Spa successfully, they just didn't at the Nordschleife.
Also the MR 911's are classed as aftermarket, not true factory, you can do a lot more aftermarket than stock.
@@matthewcurtis3759what are you even talking about? They just went for the Laguna Seca record. You haven't been following things
@@fullsendsimracingjust not yet,, im pretty sure they will comeback soon. Yeah hopefully soon.
They've been seen testing the Jesko once in Nurburgring but it was raining Hard.
Incredible amount of knowledge and data dropped in this short video.
I really cannot wait until the McMurtry Spéirling goes on the ring!
6:12 if it doesn't run out of charge.
@@youssefkhaled9666 It will be faster than the ID.R
What about McMurtry Speirling, will it ever lap the Nurburgring? It´s slightly faster than GT3 cars, it would probably do 6:20
That car is a lot faster than GT3 cars.
I not sure it’s got the top speed to get a record on the ring, but I’d love to see it
@@rientsdijkstra4266 Very dependent on the generation of f1 car in question. On a conventional circuit, the sperling would be outmatched by most modern f1 car.
@@Dadandtheboys it does 190 mph, or 304 kph...
I expect more
"Its still a cool time to be alive as a petrol head" - Misha. (highlight of the video for me😁😁)
Random question but what time do you think you would get in this car?
Do think there is a chance for the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack to beat the Amg one?
Don't we all want that to happen? :-D
It's around 300-350 kg lighter, but RWD.
That car's suspension system wouldn't survive the Ring at this pace
@@Shadowboost Source for that?
Jesko will beat it. It’s significantly lighter and has more power and has even more downforce than a Gt3 RS
Misha, what are your lap records, and in which cars?
I would like to see how cars are performing on some F1 racetracks with flat road and more safe feeling when you riding it.
Just makes you think what the great Stefan Belof did all those years ago….. just amazing. 👍🥃🇦🇺
20:05 Come on Fernando!
I hope you get a chance to do a lap in StanceWorks Mike’s K-swap one day once he’s got it fully ironed out and dialled in.
It must be so nice to just drive this track without any traffic!
👍 Love this Video, keep them caming 😎
Thx Misha 🖤
I knew the sunset would make the video
06:35 Has anyone from Nürburgring GmbH ever given an explanation as to why the curb at suck curve had been raised?
Misha what about the upcoming mclaren W1 the replacement for the P1 could we see them attempting a lap ?
What time is Misha best time record and in which car ?
Chevy C8 Z06 and ZR1 then the Zora!
you will be disappointed
Do you agree that gt black series attempt is necessary?
I'm curious to see how the Valkyrie compares. Hopefully this will happen someday soon, but it's gotta be Aston Martin doing it or it doesn't count on my book.
Why would it not count then ?
@@E9X330 It's much less likely that a private owner will have the car setup for the best possible lap time as they won't be using Aston Martin engineers. It's also less likely that a professional driver will be utilized.
I suppose this is all possible with a private owners car, but highly unlikely.
What about the T.50? As a plus it doesn't sound like fart.
what time do you think japan super gt500 car would make around the track?
Considering that the GT2 RS MR didn't have active aero with DRS I think it's possible that the new gen of the GT2 might shave off a lot seconds if they don't add weight and bump the power to +800hp, which its engine is totally able to take without additional heavy modifications. It'd be nice for a proper goodbye to the last internal combustion engine powered Porsche cars.
My take is that it'll do below 6:28 but I don't want to sound like a fanboy either.
It'll be a sad day for the petrolheads the moment we stop using ICE in motorsports.
Dream car right there. I wish they were only 1m or 1.5m. something someone could dream of reaching someday. 5m is just an insane price. 😢
The service for the engine after 30,000 miles is $700k. Or is it €?
What about the Czinger 21C, could it beat that record?
