If you lived it then you understand that song, I did in the late 60's and it was pure Hell, I was at the lowest point in my life back then and I'll tell you that Sunday mornings were absolutely the worst.
i can't imagine how difficult that was for him to get through that song. i've seen this particular version dozens of times and i usually have to fight back tears every time i watch it - and i'm not always able to.

I had the honor of seeing the HIGHWAYMEN when they were on tour. It was one of the highlights of my life! I was raised listening to these great artists. I will always remember that night. I love the way Kris and Johnny sings this song..yes I'm like one of you said, it cuts to the bone..when Johnny Cash first came out with this song, I took a little 45 record of it and took my friends car and went to New York to see my girlfriend, and stayed upstairs in her family house and played it over and over for 2 weeks and after I had drank up all her dad's cabinet full of liquor I eased out of New York and tried to make it back, before Sunday morning came down again ❤️ 💙 I was gone for 2 weeks and only remember being there about two days 💙 life can be a bitch ❤️ and then several years later, I married one ❤️ 💙
