Just got the novas for PlayStation, probably one of the more comfortable headsets I’ve used. For anyone wondering, the mic does pick up a little more background noise then I’d like, nothing deal-breaking. Great review!
Thanks. I did a full Nova review last week and found the mic to be on par with previous versions. Which headsets have you found the mic to be better?. I’d be interested to try them.
@@MainCave I usually stuck with corsair headsets, and they probably have the best mics around. Last headset I had was the corsair virtuoso, great mic but it was very uncomfortable and started tearing at the headband and earcups like 1.5 years later. Which is why I looked into the steel series.
I have the arctic 7p and now the nova 7p and yes, on the nova to nova it picks up more background noise

I'm in the process of shopping around for new headphones. Steelcase really needs to figure out a better naming convention for their headphones. Or at least make the release year clear and obvious on their site. Trying to figure out which headset is which and which one is the more recent release has been such a hassle since i started diving into all this over the last few days. Your video has been the best breakdown on this i've seen so far.

Great comparison. Saved me £150 from upgrading from a pair of 7x's to the Nova 7x's. Can't justify the outlay just for Bluetooth.
same. i do use the 7x’s share port to plug into my ipad to get a “poor man’s bluetooth”, and can still simultaneously game wirelessly on xbox, not a bad setup, really.

I had the arctis 7p+ for 2.5-3 years and I just upgraded to the nova 7's. They live up to the hype and are a worthy upgrade. The mic is better imo, the audio is slightly better, they have better battery life and the simultaneous Bluetooth is a game changer. My only problem (nitpicking) is the clamping force. They're super comfy and more comfortable than arctis's due to the extra adjustments but the clamping force is almost non existent at least for my head. They just kinda sit there

I’m an Arctis 7x owner and who bought the nova 7x, and I think the novas is one step better in sound, it’s quite more uncomfortable than the Arctis 7.
The earpad is just smaller, hurts my ears after a short period i needed to return the nova 7.

Hi, thanks. You’ll get identical performance out of both, due to the SS software and if you’re on PS5, the 3d audio.
If you are on PS5 just make sure you have the 3d audio on and maybe look at my H7 video as they are fantastic. Helps in FPS games, loads.

Tried the arctis 1 nova and the arctis nova 3. The nova 1’s were better imho. Just got the 7x’s . Lil loose but comfy. Also i had the 7p plus loved everything minus the shallow earcups killed my ears. Now im on the 7x’s for series x and ps5 ill Give them an 8.5 outta ten comfort and sound quality a ten!
I’ve had the nova 7x’s for 2 weeks and barely found out you could pull them out to adjust length 😂

Good vid. Just want to point out that having owned Arctis for several years, i ended up returning 7P Nova's as they immediately felt too small, hot and heavy to my ears :(. There are much better quality headsets out there but i stayed with Arctis line for their exceptional comfort (headband + earcups)
My new Steelseries were too tight on my huge ugly head until I discarded the blue headband and removed the four tiny screws holding the plastic to the spring steel band. After that, I was able to bend the spring steel just enough to allow blood to flow to my temples during use. The sound is fantastic.
My Steelseries were $179 down from well over $200. I traded in my PS4 Pro for $100 and had 20,000 points on my GameStop club membership.

So which set can work with both PS5 and Xbox series X? I need chat to work correctly on both and I don’t care if they are wired. I know the Arctis 7x works on both other than chat mixer on ps5, but what about the Arctis 9x? I don’t want xbox protocol, I want universal.
I prefer the mic from the Arctic, but the Nova are a bit lighter

It can connect to anything bluetooth, but you may get some noticeable lag especially when listening to the TV

Is there any difference between the Nova 7 and 7X. Apart from the xbox support. Mainly play on PC but do have an xbox.
The Nova 7p works on PC/PS and Nova 7x on PC/Xbox. They are otherwise identical. Edit: I suppose I should add the color on the headband is different as well.
Could anyone reconfirm if the Wicked Cushions could fit Both Artis and Artis Nova headsets? As the Wicked Cushions on Amazon indicated that it doesn't fit Artis Nova headsets...im confused
I have the Arctis 7p and I like how I can plug my guitar amp into the 3.5mm port and listen to my playing plus pc connected by bluetooth so I can hear both.
To conclude and ease your confusion:
If you already have the Arctis 7P+ - then it is not worth to change.
If you don't, go for Nova 7P
*unless you want simultaneous Bluetooth then it’s 100% worth the upgrade 😬

Is there any benefit from buying the Nova 7 or Nova 7P against buying Nova 7X? It seems that they are the same but the 7X can also connecto to XBOX so why would you buy the others?

I wouldn’t say they are a problem. Just not as “snug” as the Arctis’. Both are still very comfy

I currently have the arctis 5, and I find that they are loose, I feel that the ears are not well sealed, I don't know if I will solve it with new earpads or that these new Nova fit better.

Materials are definitely better on the Nova, it feels more premium for sure. That being said I have a pair of the 7+ previous to the Nova and they lasted 5 years with the only thing to wear out being the ear cuffs.
Any downside for the nova x on PlayStation?
I don’t get the connectivity restrictions otherwise.
I’m a ps5 only player but I might buy an Xbox, if the new TES game launches exclusively on there and then the x might be better long term.

If I’m coming from turtle beaches? Should I get the Arctis 7P+ or the nova 7? Bluetooth is not really of important to me since I just want them for gaming on the ps5.
If you dont need bluetooth (which is dead useful for connecting to your phone at the same time) then id go for the 7p+, I find them comfier and probably cheaper.
Does the Nova 7X also take advantage of the tempest audio for the PS5? If so I would rather get that.

Hello, I have a question. I play on PS5 and I'm needing to get a new headset as my old one (Hyperx Cloud Flights) is getting a bit worn out but I still love them as I've had them since they came out and like how they sound. Anyways for Christmas my mom got me the Razer kaira pros and I really didn't like how they sounded as they sounded so muffled and too bassy, I couldn't pick out footsteps in any game and every game sounded unclear, no matter what PS5 sound or EQ settings I tried. So, I then returned them for the Hyperx Cloud 2 Wireless since I liked the Flights so much but, unfortunately those kind of sounded the same (even trying every setting) and were kinda uncomfortable for me. In all do you think these (Nova 7p) sound better than those two headsets I had and would they be a good upgrade going from Cloud Flights? Sorry for the long question and thank you for the great review.
Hi there, Ive not tried the Clouds so can’t comment on them. These do provide a bassy sound with presets and it can be toned down.
Have you looked at the Sony H7? I’ve made a video on them and they are always the first set I reach for. No presets, but sound fantastic and super comfy. Worth looking at.

@@MainCave Just wanted to update, I looked at the Sony H7's but ultimately ended up buying the Nova 7P's and so far I love them a lot more than the previous two I tried. Also that's without even updating them yet so should I still hook them up to my computer and update their firmware? Sorry I'm not the greatest when it come to technology lol. P.s. I use them for PS5.

I still prefer 7p+. It looks very clean. If nova 7 has the same design as nova 1, it will look better to me
They get real dirty real quick (both the white and black version), currently, due to the materials used and how they built the Novas, mine still look brand new and I've had them for around a month now
If i get this nova 7p will i have to do things in website to make the sound quality better or can i plug in and just play
You can just plug and play, no problems at all, but updating on a PC will improve the sound and a few other settings.
Can anyone please tell me if the Nova 7P fit well and comfortable over the PSVR2?
I got the Astro A50 and they fit a bit too tight over the PSVR2. (I have a large head)

Did you say that the Arctis Nova 7X and Arctis Nova 7P can save 1 sound profile from PC on the headset to use that specific profile on console or are you stuck with the basis out-of-the-box- sound for consoles? Could be a deal breaker for me if it is the case that you can't use at least 1 sound profile on Series X or PS5 at a time.

Guys, It's about my PS5, on which I tried 5 pairs of headphones. Razer Barracuda, Arctis 7X, Corsair HS80, Razer Barracuda again and now Arctis 7.
Only on the first pair did the microphone of the headphones work for a while, but as I read, Razer has a problem with the dongle for that model of headphones, in the sense that it disconnects after a while and no longer works wirelessly.
I kept looking in the settings, at various tutorials, etc., but nothing.
I want to mention that when I go into the console settings to test the microphone, it works, but when I go into Call Of Duty, it doesn't work.
Do you have any idea what it could be?

Yo idk if you can help but I was playing today with my new 7p+ and my friend said he was able to hear the game we were playing through the mic is so I had to lower my volume quite a bit is there anything I can do so I can keep my volume up or nah?
Try turning down the sidetone.
@@MainCave yeah it’s ok the way off I I had to lower the volume and that got me killed a lil bit and I lowered the mic setting on the eq as well so it doesn’t catch as much

Cuz ive seen a lot of people having issues on the sound quality in artics 7p+, saying it sounds bad or echo-y or really low or distorted.
Im looking for a new headset to play on my ps5, the one i have is really good but very uncomfortable and hurts my ears after a few hours. I also need it for online meetings, listening in the phone/tablet so not just ps5

Look at the Inzone H7's, almost perfect for the PS5/PC.

4:09 I had the same issue with the Arctis 7X+ Wireless but after a couple weeks of using, I got used to it and the subtle "pain" got away really quickly, It got really comfortable. Currently having the exact same problem with the Nova though, hopefully it's the same thing.

@@xxdhia-kxx369 oh the newer ones are definitely better in almost every other way. They’re comfortable, like you’d totally forget you even have them on after playing for a couple hours.. but the older ones are a little bigger and more comfortable. That being said, the quality is just countless times superior. I had went over 5 Arctis 7 (the old ones) and they all broke within 5-15 months of use all from the same piece. As far as im aware, there hasn’t been any complaints online about that same piece with the newer ones so they definitely improved the build quality.
Overall, the newer ones are superior. They are also like half the weight from the older ones, it’s just it’s a little bit tight.

Please help, everytime im using my nova 7x with my xbox and conected vía Bluetooth to my phone, the volume of the game goes down as soon i have a phone call or join a discord room, it doesnt happen when conected to pc, is this normal or i just have a bad headset?
Just check in the Steelseries Software in Settings that in Bluetooth you have “do nothing during calls” as you may have the “volume decreaser” on which will lower sound.
@@MainCave it is selected "do nothing during calls", it only happen if it is conected to the xbox, when its on pc it works as intended
Hi! I have a few quistions about the Arctic series.
I currently have had the Arctis 3 for a couple of years and they were ansolutely amazing, but I really want to buy them again. They are discontinued ofcourse so I am looking for a new headset.
The one thing I absolutely hate is that everything is now an active, wireless headset, while I am looking for one I can use passive, with a 3,5mm jack in my xbox one controller and still have surround sound. I am very confused because it is a real pain finding out if that is possible with the new models, so can you still use the 7x, 7x+ or 9x without battery and wired like the arctic 3?
I really hope I can get one before black friday, just can't figure it out!

I recently bought the artics 7P+ for 190$ USD including the shipping fees, and i didn't know about the nova 7P untill now, and they're about the same price.
Now i can't really decide what should i do.
If i return the arctics 7P+ to get the nova 7P they will charge me 25$ USD to ship it back, knowing that i paid for shipping fees when i first bought it.
Do you think it's worth it to return my arctics 7P+ to get those extra new stuff?

Stick with the 7p+ unless you desperately want simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity.
Could someone please explain to me whats the difference between the casual nova 7 and the nova 7p. So, can I buy a nova 7 for my ps5 and it is as good as nova 7p ??? I was searching for hours and I cant find what nova 7p is better in than casual nova 7
PS5 doesn’t support chatmix and you won’t hear your own voice. The 7P is special for PS5 because instead of having a chatmix dial which doesn’t work on the PS5 it has a side tone dial so you’ll be able to hear your own voice. So get the 7P

@@duncansmol9362 i mean everyone always writes its special developed for ps5. Thats why I think only the 7p has many special functions for only ps5 but if its really only this one thing, the side tone dial I would rather go 7 for chatmix dial at laptop

So I have Arctis 7x wireless. Nova pro wired with Dac and they sound amazing. bass booms so deep! My arctis 7x, used on my sim racing rig don't punch as deep. Im on fence about buying the nova 7x...but not sure if its an improvement over the arctis 7x. Anyone able to help me out here...should I? Is it worth it?
The normal configuration might sound better with the Pros, but if you connect them to a PC you can change the settings and make them sound the same.
I'd say don't upgrade, just use the Arctis 7 until they wear down and eventually break.
Can I use the microphone without stretching outside with Bluetooth or usb-c signal?
Mention that in the vid. You’ll get massive amounts of feedback if you don’t pull it out and have sideline one. Tbf don’t need to pull it out far for it to stop, it will work without sideline on but not as loud

Is there a spec about what charger should i have to use on this headset?
Not that I’ve seen. Without testing too heavily, a USB into the PC seems to be adequate for a fast charge.

It is confusing. They “old” range is called the Arctis. The “new” version is called the Arctis Nova

Xbox doesnt display battery it shows “plugged in” I guess that’s because of the USB dongle. Other than that it’s pretty good , for now

You are either the only person honest enough about these products sound or completely wrong...I'll find out later today. I have the 7p+ and just ordered my Nova 7's because everyone claims they sound better. You are the only person that said they are the same in sound and that people won't be able to tell the difference. Can't wait to see which is it:)
Remember. A lot of people I’ve seen didn’t even know you can edit the EQ for the PS5.
@@MainCave well I got the headphones in and tested them. You were completely right about there not being a big difference on the surface. I didn’t hear any difference almost. But the firmware update loaded and the volume limiter turned off, brought out some very nice audio that while not a night and day difference is subtle in key areas. But again, to the native listener, they wouldn’t find any difference most likely. So I give you all the credit on your review. If there is any clear differences that would stand out…it’s got to be with the missing Bluetooth ability on the attic 7p+. That ability could stand as game changer to people coming from the 7p+ to the Nova 7p.

Volume limiter (set to off) is a must for these. As for Bluetooth, it was the only reason I got them in the first place. I need it on every gaming headset here on.
I don t know if the 7x and 7x+ are made identicly, but today i got the nova7x and i compared with my 7x first gen … honestly they do not sounds the same … they are complitly different … 🤷♂️ i repeat i don t know if there is a difference with the + but the nova has the Spatial Audio wich mine 7x has not , and i can hear around better quality sounds… 🤷♂️

Can someone explain me why de nova 7p exist? I mean its the same as the 7x just without xbox compatibilty. So why dont steelseries just release the 7x who can go with xbox and ps? i dont get it

I’ve been using the Steelseries arctis 7p now for 2 years with my PS5. It’s beautiful, clear and spatial… the battery life is incredible and the comfort for glasses wearing individuals is amazing, but that’s it. The Arctis 7p is not an all around headset for games, multimedia and movies, it’s for games. Even after updating the firmware and choosing a great preset, the bass is so underwhelming it’s flat.
I was very misinformed by Pulse 3d and arctis 7p reviews. Everyone favors the 7p and even says the mic is better. I just reluctantly bought the all black pulse 3d tonight from Best Buy (Saturday 12/10/22) and 2 hours with it, it’s simply beautiful. The standard sound preset on the eq beats the arctis 7p beautifully and the bass I was missing and wanting in the 7p is available automatically on the bass boost preset in the eq setting on the ps5. I don’t base my gaming headsets anymore on gaming spatial sound or quality, I now base it on… is it capable and worthy of watching Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray movies and sound good across the spectrum without dropping or bottoming out. The arctis 7p cannot keep up, the pulse 3d just blew my mind and for $50 less. The arctis 7p is gorgeous, but it’s not even close to the performance of the pulse 3d. The microphone clarity blew my friends away and hearing them was so crystal clear. The arctis 7p is always trying to keep up in chat. I underestimated the pulse 3d based on so many articles and RUclips channels.
If you have the arctis 7p, go to best buy, by the Pulse 3d, use it for one night. If you don’t like it you can return it no questions asked for 1 month. I expected to return the pulse 3d but again, it way overshot any expectations I could have ever had for it.
Arctis 7p, I love you, but I’m selling you now.
Pulse 3d is the most uncomfortable headset I’ve ever used .. my problem was never the sound but comfortability.. i use astros so maybe that’s why i hate them so much

7 and 7p aren’t Xbox compatible. whereas the 7x is everything the 7’s and 7p’s AND Xbox.
Also they have different coloured head straps. black 7, blue 7p and green 7x

the sidetone wheel on the P is totally useless and a TOTAL deal braker! I thought that it was a dial for game/chat volumen but actually is not. How can you use it in playstation if you cant control the chat volume? Should I go each time to the game settings to lower or raise the volume of chat? really stupid function they offer with sidetone, the engineer that decide to put that on the headphone has to be FIRED
