I watch a lot of guys take the car apart unplugged things and don’t disconnect the battery. I’m a technician that’s the first thing we should do. You’re on the right track my friend. This is why I love your video. You’re on the right track and let this be known to all you guys out there this right here he’s going to do disconnect the battery. It can save you a lot of headache. I see guys doing it all the time you don’t disconnect the battery. A lot of things can go wrong. trust me you’re doing it right, sir.👍👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏
Guys like you make life so much easier in the RUclips era. Thirty years ago I installed an aftermarket front bumper and Warn winch on my Toyota truck and it was a very trying, learn as you go process. Nice production in an easy to follow format.
Informative video! Great job on the install, but I want to let you know that the side bracket show at 24:00 should be on top of the plastic bumper tab. If you mount it with the metal side bracket on the bottom, then when you tighten the fastener you will most likely crack the plastic bumper tab. There is a circular ridge on the bumper tab and if you mount if the way you did, it will result in a gap in the clamped assembly and the plastic will crack because of the compressive stress placed on it. After watching the bumper tab crack on the CBI installation video, I contacted them and they admitted that they had installed one of them backwards too.
I don’t usually leave comments but this is the BEST video! I must have watched it about 20x before and during the install of the CBI bumper w/bull bar and Warn EVO 12 winch on my 2024 Tundra. Everything went smoothly and it looks great. Next step is to tension the line, and conveniently enough, I see you have a video for that too. Great job!
Agreed 100%!… That's what I love most about it, it's nothing overboard, just enough… Integrates with the body lines of the front end perfectly, my favorite addition to this truck so far!… Thanks for watching!
You did an amazing job buddy it looks so freaking awesome unfortunately I do not have the balls to try cutting up my brand new HV Limited Tundra with less than 100 miles
Hahaha...thanks man, much appreciated!...my wife is a Spanish teacher (full blooded Italian, never understood how she went that route)....she got that blanket in Spain, which is why she didn't take too kindly to me using it on garage floor 🤣
I just saw your video, thank you. I installed a Fab Fours bumper winch on my 2012 Tundra by myself. I found it easier using my floor jack to balance and lift that heavy thing while I bolted it in.
It looks very good buddy. It looks very good. I love it. You know I got I got rid of my 1794. I never liked to the TRD. I never really care for that truck too much. I don’t know why I always like the 1794 but what I did bought I bought a capstone 2023 I didn’t go. I didn’t go this time. I found a really nice one the price was right it’s a 2023 with 29K on it for 59,000 I think that’s a steal for 80 something thousand dollar truck I’m not gonna tow anything so I’m not gonna really do what you’re doing on this one on yours, but it looks really good but what I am gonna do I am going to change the grill. I don’t like the grill on the capstone. I’m gonna take that off and I’m gonna change the grill like the 1794 see I’m a chrome man you guys like your stuff blackout but me I’m a chrome man I love chrome so that’s what I’m gonna do on mine. I’m gonna take my bumper off and I’m gonna make it all chrome I wanted to look just like the 1794 is a great trucks, man I don’t know why would anybody would go by F150 we got the best truck don’t worry, all right brother. I’ll catch you on the next one. I love your truck man. It looks really good.👍👍👍👍🤣🤣👏👏👏👏❤️
I applaud you for doing such a great job explaining how to install this great mod but to be honest it would be too much for me to try myself. I am way to impatient and would somehow miss a step in the process you laid out. At 62 I have over the years learned my limitations and they are many. I will recruit a helping hand.
Thanks Shane, I appreciate that! Yeah absolutely, if you don't feel comfortable doing it grab an extra set of hands!… If I can help at all don't hesitate to send me a message!
Excellent Video, wish I had it when I installed mine! Thank you! I used an oscillating saw I think it was much cleaner. After watching several videos, I'd highly recommend it with a good blade.
Would welding the bracket to the frame be a better option (after installing the bolts)? That way there is no way u might accidentally sheer the bolts when getting towed?
I'm so jealous of you guys who can do your own installs. I don't have the skill or honestly probably the patience. I would love to have this bumper with the optional bull bar for extra protection. My fear is that it would interfere with the sensors. Maybe no the bumper alone but with the additional bull bar. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Again my truck is the TRD Limited hybrid 2024.
Can you tell me how far the recovery hoops stick out from the bumper face? My truck barely fits in the garage as is and I need to know it will still fit with the added length.
Hello Sir, I saw on CBI’s website concerning the covert bumper that Front End Sensors may need to be professionally recalibrated after bumper installation. Did you find that you needed to have your front end sensors recalibrated after installation? Thanks for your time and thank you for your channel it’s great information every time
Thank you, I appreciate that! I didn’t have to do anything like that thankfully, all my sensors worked perfectly, plug n play. Hope that helps, thanks for all the support!
Your videos are great! Curious to get your reaction to the less wide coverage of the bumper to the old crash bar width. I can’t for the life of me understand why the CBI bumper surface area is so much shorter than the oem crash bar so that a lot more of the front tire and fender areas are left unguarded during a collision.
Agreed, I was waiting for the re-installation of the crashbar. Not sure I personally would trade off safety for a bad ass looking bumper and recovery points. Nice looking install and great video by the way, thanks for the hard work.
I was told by two body shops that you and must recalibrate the sensors when you remove the grill and disconnect the plug. Have you heard of any issues after unplugging the collision sensor?
You did a great job with the install video. I loved how you taped painted areas for protection. With all do respect...try to stop saying the word "basically". The elimination of this word will make your videos more professional. Thanks for your time showing us this upgrade.
Thank you, I appreciate it!...yea, I have to stop saying "basically" and "actually"...I do it all the time, even off camera! 🤣...thanks for the feedback!
Another great video, thanks for the step-by-step installation process and detailed description. Have you noticed, or anticipate the shackles swinging back-and-forth and making contact with the bumper? Thanks.
Thank you, I appreciate it!...not at all, the shackles come with rubber spacers you install between them and the tiedown locations on bumper… Comes with different sizes of the spacers so you get a snug fit where they won't swing… Hope that helps!
great video, i definitely be watching it again if i end up buying this cbi bumper, question, what are those 2 holes next to the towhooks? maybe for cube lights?
I've had this bumper on my truck since mid October and I love it. I am however extremely disappointed that it's almost completely surface rusted already.
Sorry to hear that. That’s the challenge with aftermarket mods on the first year of a new generation truck. Even the mods need time for improvements and feedback.
Does this bumper work with the Trd lift kit installed? I noticed after they installed the lift kit at the dealership they remove my factory fog lights, just want to make sure this bumper is compatible before I purchase it.
Any idea how much the susspension dropped ? I wonder how much is the weight. I ordered one and it should be here in few days I hope I dont have to modd the front suspension so it can handle the weight better. Thank you for a fantastic video. I will be using your video step by step.
Thank you, I appreciate it!… I didn't even think to measure to be honest, but going off looks alone it doesn't seem like it dropped much at all… If any… Definitely nothing where the suspension would have to be modified for sure… If I get bored enough I'll take it back off and get some exact measurements, wish I thought to do that when installing!
Thanks man, I appreciate that!!...I got mine directly from CBI website...but there's actually several dealers that sell em...I would shop around for best prices...just Google "CBI Covert bumper 2022 Tundra" and you'll get a few options, hope that helps!
They make bracket kits where you can place it over winch location and flip it up when winch is needed... thankfully we don't have to use front license plates in Pennsylvania but if we did you have that option!
Hey bud,,great video..im a little late for the party but I am purchasing a 1794 '24 in a couple of weeks ..will this be the right fitment for this mode' as welll ?
Hmm, that's a good question… I'm honestly not sure… I haven't seen any sequoias in person to even check for you, I would email them and ask, you never know!
That’s an awesome video. Quick question. That install didn’t affect your cameras or your sensors or anything right? Everything is perfect? It’s been a year you’re still plays with it? Thanks for the info Man”.
Hey man, Love the style of your truck and the new setup looks amazing. Im going to be buying a truck and im curious to hear from owners what your experience has been with the 22' Tundra in general and what kind of mpgs your seeing? hope you're well
Hey buddy!...thanks man, I appreciate it!...no joke, this is my favorite truck by far...I say it all the time, toyota couldn't pay me to go back to my 2020 Platinum!...this truck is better in every way imaginable, you won't be disappointed!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!…I honestly can’t even remember where I got mine, they sell them at several locations…if you Google it you’ll see a few options, I would recommend checking around for sales!
Thanks man!!...yea that's what scares most people who wanna do this themselves...but that's one thing I'm never afraid to do on this channel, just start tearing into things 🤣...my father in law used to say one of my favorite one liners, "god hates a coward"...I definitely try to live that way for sure, sometimes to a fault 🤣...thanks for watching!
AWESOME WORK DUDE VERY PROFESSIONALLY DONE AND EXPLAINED ONE SICK LOOKING TRUCK. Wonder if they sell the kit for 2021 TRD PRO THANKS FOR SHARING. HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎊
Thanks man, I appreciate it!… i'm honestly not sure what they offer for the 2021, I would take a look at their website… They make some high-quality stuff for sure, Happy new year!
I actually haven’t done anything yet, I drive it offroad quite a bit so I have added more scratches unfortunately…my OCD isn’t happy about it 🤣🤦♂️…my plan is to eventually mask it off and respray the entire panel, I’ll make a video on it showing results when I get it done!
Hey Tim!...they're 35x12.5x18 Kenda Klever RT's...my favorite tire for sure, I've been running them for a couple years now...better than the "big name" brands I've used in the past...hope that helps!
Thank you!!... that's one of the main reasons I love this bumper, looks like it could have come stock with it… Nothing overboard, just enough… Thanks for watching!
Very awesome. I watched it like 3 times. Im in the process of ordering this for my 2023. My question to you is: The 2 small areas below your headlights. I see you put the Orange strips. Did you change those and are they the lights module, or you just added the orange strips onto the plastic? And the orange front sway bar. Where did you get that from? Awesome video. Ima follow your steps when I get mine.
Thanks man, much appreciated!... so the red strips on those areas below headlights, they are just vinyl strips that I applied for accents… No lighting… and the red sway bar is the stock sway bar that comes on the Trd Pro, hope that helps!
Thanks man, definitely recommend it!...my favorite mod so far!...and honestly I didn't even think to measure, wish I did... I will say just going by the looks it doesn't seem to have dropped it at all… So if anything it's minimal... who knows, if I get bored maybe I'll take it back off and measure 🤣
Its just mesmerizing how they call this TRD PRO (OffRoad version) but whole factory front end its held up by plastic extensions and bumper its actually lower then front skid plate so in case of front impact while offroading whole front gets ripped apart before even touching skid plate.
Thanks Joe!… It wouldn't void the warranty… Toyota would have to prove that the bumper caused whatever issue you were having in order to deny the warranty claim… Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
You could still get it!...they make brackets for mounting a license plate over winch opening, and the bracket flips up out of the way when ya need to use your winch!

I like the look of this bumper. It has the look of the stock bumper but gives you a mount location for shackles. Looks great.
Agreed 100%!… That's what I love most about it, it's nothing overboard, just enough… Integrates with the body lines of the front end perfectly, my favorite addition to this truck so far!… Thanks for watching!
What they should of done in the first place.
Agreed, but then it wouldn't give me a project to ruin one of my wife's blankets 🤣
Why would you expect tow hooks on a $65k+ 4x4 vehicle when you can spend another $1k+ and a few hours of time to add 1 yourself?
Exactly
@@troyhodulik5542it would have been nice. But I do like the fact they left an aftermarket spot to add whatever we want
You did an amazing job buddy it looks so freaking awesome unfortunately I do not have the balls to try cutting up my brand new HV Limited Tundra with less than 100 miles
As much as it sucks Toyota didn’t plan for this, you did a fantastic job detailing the process. BRAVO👍🏻

This mod is almost a must on the Tundra. Cool video

I agree!...really kinda ties the front end together!...thanks for watching!
Would welding the bracket to the frame be a better option (after installing the bolts)? That way there is no way u might accidentally sheer the bolts when getting towed?
You do an awesome job bro. Thank you for making these videos. Looking forward to the winch install video.
Thanks Frank, I appreciate that!… Me too, I want to get the winch on ASAP to complete the look/project and get this thing off the beaten path!
Very good explanation. I'm installing one currently for a customer and this was very helpful 🤘🏻

Dude that’s sick!!! Mine will be here after the first of the year! Can’t wait! I’m going to be running the Traveller X 10,000 lb winch! I can’t wait!
Thanks man!...you're gonna love this thing, I can't wait to get my winch on!
Damn I wish this was standard equipment. Even if you don’t use tow hooks it makes it look so much better.

i dont have a tundra because not having tow hooks was a deal breaker for me but after this video how can you not want one
Great video, I will upgrade my grill to the Toyota one and this video will help tons, thanks
Won’t lie, I am amazed at how much plastic is on this Truck for the cost! But love it anyway!!

That looks like a factory bumper. Toyota should do this!
That's what I love about it, looks so streamlined with the truck...looks like it came from factory like this, and I agree, it should have!
What's the name of the lay down roll around thing you were using? Amazon link? I need something like that

Absolutely an excellent expert like tutorial on the install, now I'm super motivated to do mine 😆 thx
I've had this bumper on my truck since mid October and I love it. I am however extremely disappointed that it's almost completely surface rusted already.
Sorry to hear that.
That’s the challenge with aftermarket mods on the first year of a new generation truck. Even the mods need time for improvements and feedback.
That what I was thinking could happen. So, I take it that it's steel and not aluminum?

The 2 small areas below your headlights.
AFe sells a red sway bar if you’re looking for the same effect for slightly cheaper than the TRD
What Tundra groups on fb and ig are you on? What's the name of the group?
TRD pro bumper coming soon 😎
Nice!
Nice...will be doing this as well. Does the weight of the bumper bring down the front end at all?
Thanks man, definitely recommend it!...my favorite mod so far!...and honestly I didn't even think to measure, wish I did... I will say just going by the looks it doesn't seem to have dropped it at all… So if anything it's minimal... who knows, if I get bored maybe I'll take it back off and measure 🤣
Thanks man. Great video
Thank you, I appreciate that!
love your contents! perhaps long drive vids soon?
about how many miles have you put in your trd pro from you got it till now?
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!...I have about 11k on her already...time flies when you're having fun! 🤣

U have a link for the cbi bumper??
Love it!
Thank you!!
Looks great. Congrats
great job Man!!
You have any issues on thus truck?
Its just mesmerizing how they call this TRD PRO (OffRoad version) but whole factory front end its held up by plastic extensions and bumper its actually lower then front skid plate so in case of front impact while offroading whole front gets ripped apart before even touching skid plate.
First, beautiful work, great craftsmanship!! Secondly, do you know if this install voids Toyota’s warranty?
Thanks Joe!… It wouldn't void the warranty… Toyota would have to prove that the bumper caused whatever issue you were having in order to deny the warranty claim… Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thank you.
No prob!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Btw, I installed my CBI Bumber & Winch. Your video was the perfect guide. Thx a million!!
Man your truck added up more than $100 k . But nice and good work. I can’t keep up with that what you doing to your TTD Pro.
Thanks Jim!...I'm fortunate to be able to do what I do, and I don't take it for granted!...I appreciate the support!
Any trimming required?
Well done thank you so much
No problem, thanks Tom!… I appreciate it!
What type and size tires are those?
Guess this works for SR5models ??
Yes sir!
I want one of these CBI bumpers so bad for my Tundra but Washington state requires drivers to have a front bumper license plate 😢😢😢
You could still get it!...they make brackets for mounting a license plate over winch opening, and the bracket flips up out of the way when ya need to use your winch!
