Wherever you are, that city needs to be ashamed of itself for allowing that growth to just be. Im sure that neighborhood is grateful for your services. Blessings.
I always think the same thing. The city always warns, fines, etc., homeowners to keep the places cleaned up, but then when the city takes ownership, do they clean it up? No.
Most cities have limited budgets and it really should be all neighbours helping each other out by keeping their neighbourhood clean and safe, unless you want your property tax bills to go even higher to have the city do it all.
@@colleenasteevesbos6975If one lives in the house one is responsible to keep the yard maintained to minimum city standards. Spencer dear, I admire the excellent work you do to keep neighborhoods looking good. I worry though that you are still not wearing a respirator when you’re blowing all that dust, mold, critter droppings and heaven knows what else. It’s unsafe. 🇨🇦
Clearing the gutter in the street will definitely improve drainage now. I can’t believe this city would let that property get so overgrown before stepping in, one way or another!
Wonderful job!! I lived next door to an abandoned house for over 22 years. I kept it mowed, in addition to my own 3 acres just to keep the snakes, and other varmits from encroaching on my property. It was a lot of work, but it was to my advantage to take care of it. The owners lived in Florida, and they only came back to the house twice a year.
Did they think it was magic that somehow their lawn was taken care of? I would have warned them that they need to take care of their property, otherwise vacant houses tend to burn down.
Serious question folks, if these are foreclosed homes then why is the city not holding the bank holding the deed accountable??? Let’s not attack one another let’s hold bankers accountable! God Bless America 🇺🇸
It's true. Banks are not above the law. The have to abide by city ordinances and keep their properties mowed and free of debris. They're subject to fines just like we are.
@@kimberlyheckler8453well that’s a tricky situation. Yes banks are supposed to keep their properties clean. But they have excuses and tricks. On something like this they let properties run down because they have lists of slumlords or whatever that they can call and dump properties on to get rid of. Maybe bad neighborhoods or they closed a office in the area so not in their loan zone anymore. I used to work with banks. There’s a side of all this that would make you sick. And that’s also why they make it hard for young people to get loans. A lot of times people get turned down for a loan and has nothing do with their credit.
It’s so nice that you take on this kind of thing. In our neighborhood, if a neighbor near us is out of town or something is going on we help them. We will mow their lawn. Sometimes it’s just a nice day out and it’s no big deal to just do the neighbors too. I can’t believe the neighbors didn’t do anything. I personally wouldn’t let a house next to me get like this.
We had a father/son live two doors down. When the father died, the son couldn’t stay b/c of the memories of his father’s illness and decline in that house. So he left it, never came back to check on it. I’d push through the back gate and rake it each spring and the neighbor on the other side would mow it. Kept it looking like everyone else’s yard, plain but neatly kept. Someone recently bought it at auction, and they’re working on it now. We’ve seen a light trailer filled with junk and the slider is now boarded up, guess a new ones coming. Can’t wait for him to clean up that wretched deck! ☀️
I try to explain why I sit in front of the screen watching a guy cut overgrown homes. They do not understand. Screw 'um. With the world going nuts, this is the best therapeutic thing I've watched. Thanks, and you are brilliant and have a work ethic encased in steel, The youth would learn what working means.
So sad to see a home like that. You know it was either a disabled person or elderly that died or nursing home and no one to up keep. Can’t believe such disrespect in throwing the appliances in the yard. 😢. You did an outstanding job as always ❤
One house in our neighborhood fell into disarray because the sons disagreed with the parent's will. The person who was willed the house couldn't evict the ones who didn't; the ones who didn't get the house trashed it. The son who was willed the house couldn't take it over because he couldn't afford to fix it up.. families 🤷
@@CraigGrant-sh3in I can understand that, however, it only turns into a nightmare when they do finally come to terms and go back to see it falling apart. 😢💔
I agree with you 100%. That was only 75% complete. Neighbors can trim all of those sucker limbs still there on those front trees, rake up all of the grass and mow it again the proper way. That grass is not even close to being mowed all of the way. But as he stated it was just a start of the cleanup to make it somewhat presentable. Neighbors can be part of the solution as well.
Breaks my heart to see all these vacant homes. As a person who ended up homeless and almost on the streets to see them vacant kills me. Thanks for your work. Love seeing them looking like they’re cared for
The ironic thing is if someone just moved in and had utilities turned on in their names, depending on the state, they can file for deed after so many years and it would be their house! A lot of people don't know that law though
Spencer, you are always inspiring! You have crazy energy! It’s actually relaxing for my wife and I to watch you work. We can’t wait until winter clears out and we can work on our yard again. I have to add…when my wife and I bought our house which is on a 1 acre lot, that is what the yard looked like. I had a riding mower with a 46 inch deck. It kept getting stuck. A neighbor about 1/4 mile up the road came to our assistance. They brought their ford tractor with a mower attachment and a brush hog from their farm to help us out. We wanted to pay them but they told us no, they were just thankful someone bought the house. It was vacant for 2 years.
This is the most overgrown yard I've seen you clean up. You are an absolute blessing to this world! I hope people get inspired by you and help in their own neighborhoods. Great job! ❤
When I see a yard that is this far gone, also noticed the wheelchair ramp leading to the front door, I just can’t understand how the neighbors could allow this to happen and not help out. All the surrounding yards are all well maintained. You can’t convince me there’s not one able bodied person who could possibly have just run a lawn mower across their neighbors lawn to help out. Instead they just turn a blind eye! It is just shameful!
We don't know what that person was like. I have one of these in my ( millon $ + homes)neighborhood. I was checking on her every day, cutting her grass every week. She then made her house into a boarding house, talked trash about me and all the rest of the neighborhood that helped her out, and now piles her garbage in the backyard. Plus, much more I could go on. The advantage we have is that the town comes twice a year and cleans it up and puts it on the tax bill. So let's not judge the neighbors unless you know the whole story.
There's something about watching these beautification projects every week and before you know it - you find yourself hooked! Looking forward to a new one next week. Fantastic job, Spencer! Looks like very hard work. God bless you!
Good lord, what a mess! I need to go to bed, it’s late but I have to see this done no matter the time!! I really wish the neighbors would come over and help you! You work so hard Spencer, we need more good guys like you to make this a better world! God bless you!🙏💕
I’ve never seen anyone work so hard to clean up such a horrible yard. Thank you for doing this and letting us watch. I hope the neighbors keep mowing it because it lowers their property value when it is such a mess and clearly the city isn’t going to use their tax money to clean up a home that someone probably lost during COVID.
All that grass & tree limbs - I saw you hauling it off, but where did you take it? All that wouldn't have fit in your truck with the mower. All I can say about this one is WOW!! Great job Spencer!!
He spreads it back on the yard. Honestly, it would take a BIG mower just to cut through the clippings he leaves behind. That’s why these abandoned yards probably end up the same way as before. I’m not knocking Spencer. He did a quick fix on the front yard and got his video out of it. The neighbors will be grateful for a few weeks.
I do the same thing to my back yard, I take the cuttings that I have and spread them out in my back yard, a lot of people do it because there’s little seeds in the grass that will help grass grow back, and some just leave it on the property because that’s where it originally came from
I recently found your channel and I am so proud how you managed to turn a good will into a business thru youtube. Very inspiring. You should contact a local stable if they need these tall grass, horses love it. Keep up the good work.
This guy is AWESOME!!! He made it look not so old and rundown and you can see the potential this property has after he was finished! Town/bank should be ashamed that they did not take care of this and this guy had to take time out of his life and put in the insane work for free to do this!
More than a few signs that the previous occupant became disabled before they moved or passed. Seems like a great home for the community to finish rejuvenating for a disabled person in need! Keep up the great work, SB
That’s how it’s done! I love the work, you’re devoted to helping the community. I love the fact that you’re doing this every week, the dedication to the work, filming, editing, outreach and communication. You’re amazing brother!
I always love watching huge transformations like this, but I can never figure out why the neighbors can’t help! I’ve mowed neighbors grass when they couldn’t and vice versa, because it’s the right thing to do, help people! Thank you for keeping the sense of service and love for your neighbor alive!
I think that is what hay is.....tall grass. We had acres once that abutted other acres. A guy would come and cut it and make bales, then take the bales for someone's horses. I was so relieved when he cut it, then we'd mow it some till autumn.
There is something very ZEN watching you clean up these lawns. I am very much enjoying watching you take the chaos and tame it. I see you refill that wheelbarrow with grass and limbs but where do you take it? It goes off camera so do you have a pile or do you put it back in the yard to mow over it? Keep up the great work!
I live in Scotland, and I genuinely need help with My back and front garden... Wouldn't be a blessing if We all had that one guy in the neighbourhood to take good care of Our gardens? 😊
You probably have a local gardener/odd job man, but it can't all be done free of charge. Even this guy will rely upon normal paid work to live and buy/maintain his equipment.
The only problem is that you're living there, try having a vacant house and this guy will show up. I dunno how trimming a vacant house will benefit you, but there you go.
The least the neighbors could do is get out there and help him. They are worried about how it looks but not enough to put down the remote and do something.
You sir are one heck of a man, helping the city look better with each yard you do. I can't believe the hard work you do. I am sure that one day the city will recognize your efforts in making the city look better not just for the neighbors but for the city as a whole. Best of luck this 2024 mowing season.
@@progkast Yes, I know. Makes me wonder, if he is doing all this work in the city where he lives, where is the city inspection Dept.?? Would they not have tagged the property and mowed it themselves? Our city would.
since the neighbors were so concerned why didn’t any of them take care of it. Now that you cut it down the neighbors should be good humans and work together and keep it taken care of.
The neighbor has plywood on the roof and lots of junk in the back yard. They are not much better off. Maybe the neighbor that complained is elderly and can barely manage their yard.

@SirYuppwhile he does own his equipment, a lot of it was given to him by various company's that sponcer him, so you do need to keep that in mind. Plus, he's probably been doing this for years. I believe he started out working with his dad.
Maintenance doesn't require thousands of dollars worth of equipment...just takes a lawn mower, and a few min of effort a couple times a month. @SirYupp
Perfect job but happens to to the cut grass. It will look cleaner if the cut grass is raked and removed. My honest opinion. Thanks for making the neighborhood grateful and your viewers happy for your generosity. Goodluck and be safe.👍
Usually when you see these, the overgrown yard is hiding a dilapidated house and a crumbling sidewalk and cleaning up the yard just reveals a property that should be demoed. In this one however, the house seems pretty nice. Not too old, nice brick and siding exterior. The fact that this was allowed to be trashed and ruined seems all the more shameful. Very sad.
You need to partner up with a hauler, Spencer. The last couple videos or so seem you could really help these neighborhoods out by using one. Or, SB Hauling…
Another miracle job!! All your hard work and dedication to helping people and the communities in general is appreciated and I live no where near where you are doing this but I have so much respect for you! Take care
Where's your bailor when you need it hey?? Such a wonderful thing for the neighborhood. Too bad the city won't just drop off a bin for all the junk and then two guys with a dolly could take care of the backyard. Thanks for filming Spencer. I know it is more complicated filming then what it looks like.
I'm from the UK and it always amazes me to watch you clear the footpath and grassed verges to a property. In the UK the owner is responsible for the property surround upto the footpath. The footpath, the grass verge and road all fall to the local authority to maintain.
That's sometimes true in the States too. But in my town we are responsible for it, and have to clear the sidewalks (if any) in front of the house of snow and ice as well.
Great work! That yard was the worst I've ever seen so far. I hope those who reached out to you will get on a rotation to keep up the lawn because they know the city won't do anything. It must not snow where this place is because I can't imagine snow plows and salt trucks going over grass that has made it that FAR into the street.
And get rid of the junk that came from them in the first place? ...Hah! That's not going to happen. They'd have to rent a trailer, take it to the dump and pay the $10ish fee to dump it. And take a day to do it. And that isn't even including the junk they have put inside the building (after dark).
What a perfect chair to take a break in lmao. Spencer your funny. Also amazing job on the clean up. Wow looks incredible! My favorite video is with esbee the kitty boy. That video made me cry. 😅❤ you have such a big heart. Keep doing your thing dude, your changing the world!
I've said this before - and I'll say it again. The work you do is such a blessing to the communities where these properties are located. An entire neighbourhood can seem neglected and seedy - and even unsafe - by just one unsightly, overgrown, garbage-strewn lot. But that same, entire neighbourhood can get such a LIFT when that mess is cleaned up. You're like a neighbourhood therapist, and you put smiles on people's faces with the work you do. Once you've been there - the whole community is perked up. Thank you so much for the work you do . . blessings on you.
If any of those neighbors are watching this they should be ashamed for not coming out and helping you work on this. At least offering to let you set out yard waste for pickup with their property.
If you want to help you can go find him and volunteer. I know it's not as easy as being next door, but it's what you gotta do if you want to participate.
I have to laugh at the neighbors complaining and calling you to do it for free yet nobody is willing to help or offer to make a donation. I hope they will maintain it after you finish.
just so tired of “clean up for neighborhood.” How about “Cleaning for the elderly?”or Cleaning for the Disabled? Takes a little more work, but much more worth it!

Only if the city paid him. He does this for the neighborhood not the city
The city probably doesn't do them because they know he will eventually and they don't have to pay for it.
I've never seen a driveway and side walk completely overgrown with grass that tall. That's wild. You did a great job.
A lot of communities know about Spencer and guys like him. The district love saving money plus collecting money if you still live 8n the house.
@@colleenasteevesbos6975If one lives in the house one is responsible to keep the yard maintained to minimum city standards. If one is unable to maintain it because of bad health on can hire a yard contractor or have a family member help out.
If that still is not an option one can sell the property and downsize or move to assisted living.
Somebody owns that house. The city, the bank, the owner… I always wonder why nobody is held accountable.
Would have been cool if everyone in the area showed up to help you Spencer..................You are an amazing person
Thank you so much for the support!
Exactly!😎👍
Do coom to foor wick
Do you just show up and start working every time a landscape crew shows up in your neighborhood? Lol
@@reesbritton6623 Quite. Most trades don't WANT non-employees "helping" for insurance reasons.
If you come over and help a landscaper but cut off your toe with the power edger, or help a roof but fall off the roof and break an arm, who pays?
The contractor and/or the property owner.
Spencer , you deserve a million bucks for cleaning up this yard , I'm sure the neighborhood appreciates you SO much !!
Spencer dear, I admire the excellent work you do to keep neighborhoods looking good. I worry though that you are still not wearing a respirator when you’re blowing all that dust, mold, critter droppings and heaven knows what else. It’s unsafe. 🇨🇦
I would like to see him use a respirator, also. If not for his health right now, but to lessen future health problem!
Clearing the gutter in the street will definitely improve drainage now. I can’t believe this city would let that property get so overgrown before stepping in, one way or another!
I was thinking the same, and ear defenders.
it's too hot where he is, he REALLY wouldn't be able to breathe. I sweep dust for a living, believe me you get used to it.

It’s a shame they didn’t pay you to keep it up for them. If you hadn’t, they wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it when they showed up.
Did they think it was magic that somehow their lawn was taken care of? I would have warned them that they need to take care of their property, otherwise vacant houses tend to burn down.
OMG! @@nishihundan1257
@@murlthomas2243why should they pay him? they never asked for
Did they pay you any mo ey.
Holy cow!! The length of that grass allows you to make hay. SB, you did this job by yourself. You have a very generous heart ❤️.
it looks like straw not hay!
Serious question folks, if these are foreclosed homes then why is the city not holding the bank holding the deed accountable??? Let’s not attack one another let’s hold bankers accountable! God Bless America 🇺🇸
Horray someone finally gets it. Blackrock Vanguard!!!!!!!
( you will own nothing and be happy)
It's true. Banks are not above the law. The have to abide by city ordinances and keep their properties mowed and free of debris. They're subject to fines just like we are.
Great job! You work so hard.
This👌🏽
I don’t think I would have known there was a sidewalk or driveway. Amazes me that you can even find them.
That's what I was thinking.
Shovel go tap tap tap.
yeah I was watching and said "That's the *driveway*?!?!?"
My son lives in Missouri. There are 2 single woman who live next door to him. When he mows his yard he also mows their's. Their lawn mower broke down.
Such a kindness
i find it funny when you said 2 SINGLE woman like you want him to ask them to date him lol.
My husband does that for our nearly 90yr old neighbors.
Youre so right - watching something , anything get put back in order is so therapeutic
It definitely is therapeutic. Part of it is the sounds for me….takes me back to when I was a kid and hearing me dad do the yard. ♥️
It is so satisfying to watch the transformation from blight to All Right !!!
Oh my Goodness….. me too! My Dad had an Edger….specifically for the sidewalks…. I don’t see them anymore!
Awesome ..Good job!
No way the City would have done that good of a job! Awesome job, SB Mowing!❤
That was a back breaker geeze. You're a Blessing Spencer.
After watching this video, I now know that you SB Mowing are doing the Lord's work in all you do. God Bless you.
I appreciate all the work you do for the neighborhood.
So sad to see a home like that. You know it was either a disabled person or elderly that died or nursing home and no one to up keep. Can’t believe such disrespect in throwing the appliances in the yard. 😢. You did an outstanding job as always ❤
People, even family members are heartless sometimes.
One house in our neighborhood fell into disarray because the sons disagreed with the parent's will. The person who was willed the house couldn't evict the ones who didn't; the ones who didn't get the house trashed it. The son who was willed the house couldn't take it over because he couldn't afford to fix it up.. families 🤷
A lot of people can't deal with death and leave the family home to be a shrine .
@@CraigGrant-sh3in I can
understand that, however, it only turns into a nightmare when they do finally come to terms and go back to see it falling apart. 😢💔

Oh yikes that’s one bad looking lawn good thing you came in and fixed it up and made it safer for the neighborhood! Great job Spencer!!
How does one man do all of this by himself? Spencer, you the man! Thanks for such awesome, wholesome content! 🎉
Spencer did the heavy lifting , so isnt it reasonable to expect the neighbors can expend a bit of energy and rake the clippings up and bag em.
Love seeing them looking like they’re cared for
Yeah and they kick you out if you try to live in them and clean them up.
The ironic thing is if someone just moved in and had utilities turned on in their names, depending on the state, they can file for deed after so many years and it would be their house! A lot of people don't know that law though
What a clean-up!! 😮 The community must be very grateful.
Some places rent goats. They eat everything!
What nice neighbors you have now.
I am so glad you even cleaned up those poor trees. They were drowning
it is always sooo satisfying when he pulls the thick grass as if it's a rug 😮😮
This is the most overgrown yard I've seen you clean up. You are an absolute blessing to this world! I hope people get inspired by you and help in their own neighborhoods. Great job! ❤
When I see a yard that is this far gone, also noticed the wheelchair ramp leading to the front door, I just can’t understand how the neighbors could allow this to happen and not help out. All the surrounding yards are all well maintained. You can’t convince me there’s not one able bodied person who could possibly have just run a lawn mower across their neighbors lawn to help out. Instead they just turn a blind eye! It is just shameful!
People would rather chuck a few bucks towards a shady charity organisation than shed one bead of sweat for their own neighbourhood
No one wants to be sued. End of.
People/Neighbors barely have time or energy because they have jobs dude...Spencer gets paid for this. Cut out the self righteous BS.
I 👍
I have never seen grass that tall and long. Bless you for taking on this project.
You need to find some mountain village I guess. Can't imagine where in USA can be grass like this. We have it on Balkan everywhere.
God bless you!🙏💕
I agree, the banks should be held accountable to clean it up, or add it to the taxes if not in foreclosure!!!
Maybe if I was a house flipper I'd care about my neighbor's property value. Can't imagine why I would otherwise.
All that grass & tree limbs - I saw you hauling it off, but where did you take it? All that wouldn't have fit in your truck with the mower. All I can say about this one is WOW!! Great job Spencer!!
I've been wondering the same thing
He usually spreads it in the back yard
He spreads it back on the yard. Honestly, it would take a BIG mower just to cut through the clippings he leaves behind. That’s why these abandoned yards probably end up the same way as before. I’m not knocking Spencer. He did a quick fix on the front yard and got his video out of it. The neighbors will be grateful for a few weeks.
The Aussie Lawncare guys take the trimming and clipping to the landfill /tip, instead of scattering it as "mulch."
I do the same thing to my back yard, I take the cuttings that I have and spread them out in my back yard, a lot of people do it because there’s little seeds in the grass that will help grass grow back, and some just leave it on the property because that’s where it originally came from
Shame on that city and the mortgage holder. Someone is responsible for this!
maybe there is no mortgage
There's no mortgages holder AT ALL or the city would be fining them and posting signs. This is sn abandoned place owned by the city.
Well, you took on another unbelievable challenge. What a difference. The city should pay you for doing their job. God bless.
You should be nominated as a National Treasure. God bless you, Spencer. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺
I recently found your channel and I am so proud how you managed to turn a good will into a business thru youtube. Very inspiring. You should contact a local stable if they need these tall grass, horses love it. Keep up the good work.
that is just unreal - what an amazing transformation!! God bless you and Mrs. SB
Thank you so much!
It is OBVIOUS that you worked hard to make this property so presentable! I admire your work ethic, Spencer! 👍🏼👍🏼
If i have to mow this lawn, i think i might go crazy. You have so much patience for these crazy lawns.
You have my respect. I can't imagine how much energy it takes to do what you do. Thank you for cleaning up a little bit of the world.
This guy is AWESOME!!! He made it look not so old and rundown and you can see the potential this property has after he was finished!
Town/bank should be ashamed that they did not take care of this and this guy had to take time out of his life and put in the insane work for free to do this!
Nice house, now the yard is mowed, drive and walkways would look awesome power washed 🌊
Well, not exactly for free. He’s getting paid through YT ad revenue.
Good grief, your arms must be aching. That's a big job you have taken on.❤
More than a few signs that the previous occupant became disabled before they moved or passed. Seems like a great home for the community to finish rejuvenating for a disabled person in need! Keep up the great work, SB

Wow...what a nightmare. Such hard work cleaning up that mess. Kudos to you. The neighbors should be excited and grateful.
I always love watching huge transformations like this, but I can never figure out why the neighbors can’t help! I’ve mowed neighbors grass when they couldn’t and vice versa, because it’s the right thing to do, help people!
Thank you for keeping the sense of service and love for your neighbor alive!
That clean up was crazy. It looked like hay. You did an amazing job.
I think that is what hay is.....tall grass. We had acres once that abutted other acres. A guy would come and cut it and make bales, then take the bales for someone's horses. I was so relieved when he cut it, then we'd mow it some till autumn.
You are the man, Spencer! Doing the work that others won't. Well done.
You are such a blessing!!!❤
Love the drone shots at the end. Best ones to compare and to realise how much cleaner it is for the neighbrhood now.
He said that he makes a compost pile in the backyard corner on one of his videos
@@aebbage35you obviously have never heard that Scotsmen are tight with their money and won't pay for anything
He makes money doing this, you know.
I agree with you. I doubt that they will though. They didn't even offer him water after begging for his help. Shame on them
The neighbor has plywood on the roof and lots of junk in the back yard. They are not much better off. Maybe the neighbor that complained is elderly and can barely manage their yard.
I don't do my Neighbors. His has not been cut in over 14yrs... I Lent Him a Mower once with a Gallon of Gas to Cut it.. He Sold them... He is also one of those who would Find Something to Sue You For...

God bless your back! Every video I watch, I pray this for you. Keep it strong and pain free!
You gotta be kidding me....WOW ....what a mess
GREAT job on the clean-up
Usually when you see these, the overgrown yard is hiding a dilapidated house and a crumbling sidewalk and cleaning up the yard just reveals a property that should be demoed. In this one however, the house seems pretty nice. Not too old, nice brick and siding exterior. The fact that this was allowed to be trashed and ruined seems all the more shameful. Very sad.
I couldn't believe you actually sat down on that chair! 😂. Good job like always!

Corpus Christi is in southern Texas on the Gulf... Don't get much if any snow there.
Maybe the neighbors could get together and clean the junk out of the back?
That could be cool, but they wouldn't mow the lawn, so I'm assuming they won't get off their rumps to clean the back.
That’s a great 👍🏿 idea but maybe they keep the front cut too 🤔
Surprised to see a concrete drive under all that!!!
And get rid of the junk that came from them in the first place? ...Hah!
That's not going to happen.
They'd have to rent a trailer, take it to the dump and pay the $10ish fee to dump it. And take a day to do it.
And that isn't even including the junk they have put inside the building (after dark).
I sounds good, but personally I would not touch the junk. I would not want someone to come back on me. Why reward the bum for being a slab.
Great work . I would have never thought that I would watch a guy clean yards as part of my entertainment mix. Reminds me of my youth.

I don’t have to imagine. I live in the USA where the government does nothing but collect our tax dollars and line their pockets with it.
You are a good man Spencer!!!!
