Every time I see one of these abandoned properties, I have to wonder why there isn't a system in place to reclaim them for use for HOMELESS VETS... Struggling on SS, disabled and still having to TRY to work, I wouldn't mind just about ANY of these places. They may not be a GREAT place to live, but they would be a blessing to any one of the THOUSANDS of homeless in this country!!

This particular house, the video said, wasn't just abandoned, but was unsafe for habitation. Perhaps after the owner died, squatters used it as a meth lab, or something.
You wouldn't want to put a homeless person in an unsafe house.

ppl would be likeley to fix their own properties or others if the cities would stop wanting to charge the homeowners fees and forcing them to pay for permits..you cant fix one thing no porch no stairs no broken sidewalks or remove trees without the city coming down on you..ppl around me start their repair projects after 5pm fridays and end them by 5am mondays when theres no city workers or offices open..its their neighbors that do the complaining during the week..we did our porch over the weekend because of that nonsense.

because as sad as that is that would be highly illegal and corrupt of any government entity to do so unless the property acrues backtaxes unpaid fines etc it will stay in the family i hate seeing abandoned homes i myself feel they could be used for the homeless and such but i dont support corruption in the government even if its for that purpose and the sad thing is all of those things you mentioned would be taken care of if we didnt have a corrupt government so we are just stuck in a shitty siuation

An entire city & its government. A whole community. A complete neighborhood. NOTHING done. Then along comes 1 man & shows us ALL what we could have/should have been doing all along. FOR FREE, WITH NO THOUGHT OF HIMSELF. No one offered to help him but many had time to complain. No one brought him a drink or snack. Yet he smiles kindly, says 'for the neighbors' & looks for another place in need. The shame is heavy folks. Thank you, Spencer, THANK YOU!

As many have said, the neighbours could all get together and clean up that entire property for their own benefit. Everyone could chip in abit. Hire a chain saw and cut up the fallen tree/branches for firewood.
Get rid of dead branches, etc.
It would require a team effort, but once all the worst is done, it would mainly require the grass to be cut.
Get all the junk out of the way. Get it to where there is only grass to maintain.
Not one single neighbour came out to help or offer a drink, yet they called you Spencer.
You are a good man for taking on that catastrophe and had a back breaking job to tackle that jungle alone. Well done. 👏👏

We couldn't grow those outside. And a palm tree at the intersection. I always said, if there were Palm trees & Alligators by tge Arch, I might stay in STL. Haha look at me now, in Minnesota!!! The way that grass was laying over it musta been at least 3’ long. It actually looked more like a hay field than a lawn. Spencer you did the community a very favor and made walking safer for everyone not to mention allowing the water to drain properly. That was a surprising long driveway, making for lots and lots of shoveling and trimmer work. Night and day difference in before and after shots. Awesomeness loving the drone shots.

I noticed one time a landscaper doing a lawn like in this and I watched him and noticed he was using a floor scraper it was a model Mk Diamond Products 167676, he had a small generator on the truck to power the Floor Scraper, you may want to check ✔️ it and it may help you complete the job faster and you do need to break your ass with shovel 😅

@@doingitinthedirt Seriously! Like no one expects you to also clean the backyard or pull down all the vines, but when you are mowing your own yard anyway, go the extra 8 feet and keep it under control. That entire front yard would probably only add a few minutes for someone already mowing if they just kept it under control.

He lived an hours drive from us so someone had to stop by all the time. We finally told him he had to stay with my sister. He went to the hospital the next day. Died 2 days later, with a rosary in his hand surrounded by family. He lived the way he wanted . You never know.
