I'm still waiting for any credible evidence she hit him. Not saying she didn't, but it's hard to reach a guilty verdict when the prosecutions witnesses (expert) come across as inept or came to opinions that are favorable to the defense.

I too feel very badly for John's parents and the O'Keefe family, and for everyone. The jury no doubt tried their best in this complicated case. idk if Karen hit John or not, but the injuries to John really do not seem to match getting hit by her vehicle; or any vehicle. It's just the evidence itself that hasn't proven anything. imo there are a lot of reasons for reasonable doubt. idk about some of the other theories so am not going to comment on them. i have to say, that not long ago, i was so worried that i ''must have'' hit something [not a person though]. And when i asked specifically about it, i definitely did not hit anything at all. But until i heard that, i thought i surely must have. + A similar thing at work; an area that is a small space with people. I'd be working away, hear something fall behind me, and i'd ask the people, ''did i cause that to happen?'', or, ''did i do that?''. But every single time i had not. So worrying or asking or even thinking something might have happened before the facts come out doesn't indicate ''guilt''. Like others, i too pondered that maybe Karen hit him and didn't realize it at first. But then why do the injuries not match? Why did no one see him out there? So very many questions. It's a sad situation for everyone for sure; of course most of all to John's parents, and his entire family.

Proctor will be transferred from the DA’s detective unit effective Sunday. Proctor is subject to a duty status hearing and will remain employed by the department until that hearing completes, according to agency spokesman Tim McGuirk.
“Although Trooper Proctor is still employed by the Department, the decision to relieve him of duty means that he can no longer work cases or function as a trooper during this time,” McGuirk said.
Why is the defense happy? She's not off the hook. It wasn't a Not Guilty. There jurors that thought she was guilty and even thought the evidence was substantially more than enough to prove it.

She’s free. They won’t retry the case too expensive and they’d have to deal with Michael Proctor again and he is what lost thus case
@@BoxerClover It's not the slam dunk "not guilty" they thought they were going to get. So, it's back to the drawing board for them now to prepare for the "do-over." The problem for the defense is that the prosecution gets a "do-over" to prepare and to hone their case better this time if it goes to trial again. Trooper Proctor is and will be the biggest problem for the prosecution. The big "multi- person conspiracy" to frame K. Read theory is and will be their biggest problem. If this case goes to trial again, the outcome may be very different.
FBI is on Proctor. There won't be a retrial. Heartbreaking for JO family but they believed the wrong people. They should've accused the LE for not doing their job properly.
NG is preferred of course but hung jury is always much better than guilty. Did I really need to explain that or are you just trolling?
A killer is still free. For how much longer who knows. After that the wrongful death suite is coming where she has to testify. Book it in danno.

Well it wasn’t a not guilty verdict but at least she isn’t on her way to prison. Hopefully the DA will realize he doesn’t have a case against her and will drop it.

Vinnie, the Commonwealth needs to get the experts that the prosecution used in the Murdaugh trial. Next, why can't that back up video be provided by Lexus? Bring the head guy from Lexus. Lastly, nobody looked for people buying bleach the next morning from a nearby store. Almost always in murders, videos show somebody buying bleach at 7am, which is always solid evidence. Most important, Karen R. Involvement with soooo many supporters out front is manipulative. These people are in effect trying to bully and gaslight the public view. It is too much and it is suspect.

I think the US jury system is very unfair and biased towards the prosecution. In the UK jurors are selected at random, you do not get to select them and a majority of 10 to 2 is sufficient for either side. It’s not politicians who decide on a retrial like here.
But, I do think that if there is a majority for not guilty. Let’s say 9 to 3, it’s ridiculous to put the defendant thro it again and give the prosecution a chance to change their attack whereas whatever was said in the previous trial can still be used against defence
So what happens next
DA already announced that they will retry the case ! A conference is scheduled for 7/22 at 2:00 pm. At that time, The Commonwealth will formally announce that they are retrying the case. They may decide to make changes to the charges. I don’t really know what else will happen.

How much for the bridge, I don't buy the conspiracy but there is too much reasonable doubt mainly being hit by suv 24 mph would leave more injuries. So tragic for the police officer but what did really happen? Reasonable doubt is reasonable doubt, innocent or guilty couldn't be established because of the doubt either way

just my theory, but I think it’s quite possible John may have injured himself with a fall. You can really hurt yourself with a fall and he ended up outside in the freezing snow. He may have hit his head on something because his injuries are not similar to getting hit by a car. He may have become unconscious and then froze to death. Also, there are way too many chick haters leading the blaming on Karen just because she’s a woman. Still today in the 21st century it is shameful that people want to hate on a woman just because of her gender. Read may not be likable person, but that does not make her guilty

Did you hear her say she did it? Because as far as I heard from reports she never said she did it! From what I have seen and heard imo there isn’t any proof she did it and those injuries help convince me. Don’t talk about Jen googling “his long to die in the cold” at 220 am long before he was found

@St99748 The EMT made no note of this in their report and didn't add that they heard this confession until well after they'd given their original testimony. That is the case with everyone who testifies to hearing Karen say "I hit him" that day. None of their testimony includes this until after they've already given statements. I'm no conspiracy theorist, I can accept one person forgetting or changing their statement on something this "key", but multiple?
