Ruby has no right to call the children she abused for "my babies". They are NOT her babies. You are supposed to love and feed your babies, not hate, torture, gaslight and starve them.

@@superpoepie6256 years ago my sister was in jail for drug charges. There was a woman inmate who had abused her 9 yr old stepdaughter and un alived her. The inmate was supposed to be kept away from the other women because of what she had done. But one day there was a mistake and she ended up in a holding cell with 2 other women while they waited to be taken to court. One of the women recognized her and took matters into her own hands. The jail employees got in there and separated the women. I can't help wonder if the mistake that put the one woman in with 2 others wasn't really a mistake. But I'm pretty sure what happens in the men's detention happens in the women's too.

Same. IMHO, it was simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming to watch the video: on one hand, it's awe-inspiring & heartbreaking to hear how polite and respectful that poor boy was despite the horrific and cruel behavior that had been modeled to him...but at the same time, for me at least, hearing that gentleman spontaneously burst into tears with the 911 dispatcher was such a beautiful testament to compassion & humanity in the face of such a confusingly bizarre situation.
It would have been so easy for him to simply write the whole thing off as a prank or say, "this is none of my business; the boy says it's personal, so I'll just call Jodi to pick him up. I'm sure it's just a rebellious, spoiled kid trying to get his mom & her friend into trouble..." but instead he took the time to take a closer look and kindly ask the boy what he needed.
I hope that that gentleman knows just how much it warmed my heart to hear the naked empathy in his voice, knowing that it may we'll have been the first time *ever* that that poor child had experienced such unconditional care and concern.

This is exactly why people saying Ruby was brainwashed etc makes me really angry. Not only were there signs of abuse years before Jodi even met Ruby but if you look at Ruby's demeanor, body language and reactions in her initial "interview" it tells a very different story. She is cold/unemotional, calm, never once asking about her children or whether they are ok. The most interesting part of it is the way she "answers" their questions. She looks each of the detectives in the eyes for maybe 5 seconds-ish, first one, then the other and refuses to answer anything. She just stares down her nose at them. After a period of time where she just repeats this behaviour - eye contact with one, then the next while not saying a word - she then requests a lawyer in a somewhat vague way (something to the effect of "I think I will wait to speak to my lawyer") but goes back into her silence/weird eye contact thing when they try to clarify whether or not that was a genuine request for representation. It's very clear she enjoys the power that her silence gives her; her arrogance and narcissistic behaviour, coupled with the zero interest in the welfare of her children, to me (and this is just my layman's opinion) shows that she was not the unwitting follower people are making her out to be.
Jodi was equally as guilty, no doubt about that. The similarities between what happened to the Franke kids and the recollections of Jodi's nibling, Jesse (Jesse identifies as non-binary) are too much to be waived as coincidence.
I believe that these two women were toxic before they met, maybe Ruby would have gone on to do the same/similar acts without Jodi (I think she would have) but undoubtedly their meeting was a catylist that led to the worsening abuse of those poor children.

She had clear thoughts of what would happen if the children escaped. So what did she do after that close call she ramped up the abuse to another level.
She wised up so very quickly as she stated in her phone call with Julie. She knows exactly what the parole board wants to hear from her.
My hope is that the parole board reads her journal, and has her words ringing in their ears as she spins how she is so remorseful now she’s not under Jodie evil spell.
