Pam should have been arrested for not contacting authorities when she saw the abuse and the wounds and all the scratches and the children being starved to death. He wanted to sue his oldest daughter and accused her of theft for retrieving items from their home to care for her siblings. He didn't even ask if his kids were okay when they told him they were found emaciated. Both parents are nasty and narcissistic.
Even if Kevin was truly unaware that his wife's discipline of their children had progressed to horrific, sadistic, physical & emotional abuse, once he was made aware, he didn't ask to be taken to his kids immediately, nor did he ask about their condition. He did however, ask what was going to happen to Ruby. This spineless, pathetic excuse for a man, doesn't deserve to be a parent. Parents should always put the needs of their children ahead of their own. Kevin has proven he loves Ruby more than his kids & his main goal was always to get back to Ruby, not necessarily back to his "family". I find that to be rather pathetic & infuriating. We as adults have the luxury of deciding who we're going to have children with. Children are not afforded the same luxury & have no say whatsoever in being born at all, let alone the option of who will be their parents. Kevin only filed for divorced because he was advised to, in order to look better to the Utah family court & to the public, in order to distance himself from what Jodi & Ruby did. I have no doubt he will be waiting at the prison gates when that psycho is released from prison.
No but the two oldest have been at the court hearings & want her to go to prison. Shari, the oldest daughter, was the one calling CPS on a regular basis because the younger 4 were left at home alone for days/weeks while Ruby went to stay with Jodi 4hrs away. I figured it out. Ruby was trying to emulate the "Wilderness Camp" program, the same that Ruby had sent their oldest son to. I'm not certain, but I don't think those wilderness camps take kids that young. The outcome of these kids is precisely why most of us want those wilderness camps shut down.
You just gave me that “light bulb” moment! Yes! I’ve heard of it. A college roommate of mine..years ago..had gone through one. She told us (her roommates) about what occurred on these camps and we thought it was horridly abusive. She didn’t, and never spoke of it again to us.
I could never not see my son for a year. This guy is a joke. Let someone hijack your family and life and act so passively when you “find” out how they were abused. His only role is to provide financial support and pay the bills, nothing else. Not being there for a year of your children’s lives is selfish and there are no excuses. You family needed you, your son needed you. You failed as a father, no other words.
He isnt a joke, watch interviews with former clients of Jodie's who brainwashes the parents and husbands during group sessions to not see his wife and kids for a year.
He knew everything he was involved and also the other 2 girls were cleaning this church lady house free maid and he wanted his older daughter to be arrested for taking a laptop from the house
So he hasn't even seen his adult children that don't live in that house, in a year? How does being an absent father help his marriage? How is his marriage is more important than his kids?
She lied to them about the safe room. She said she’d set the code 6 yrs ago and forgot what it was. It was that room, looking like a huge safe, they found the ropes and handcuffs that boy was held with. Thats where they found the honey and cayenne pepper wound treatment these women put on him. This frightens me soooo much. The Daybell case and this one, from the LDS group, scares me. They were all friends, so that’s an issue, too.
Why let them take a plea deal??? These women should have been put on trial to get the maximum sentences. Disgusting. And the husband should have been charged too. He just abandoned his kids.

The part of her journal that really gets me is when R escapes the first time, she writes that she was shaking (and scared) because "my life & Jodi's & my family would forever be different". She knew that if R made it to "jail", he would tell them what she and Jodi had been doing to them. She KNEW that what they were doing was wrong and abuse. Jodi KNEW. THEY KNEW. Yet, they claim that in the name of religion, they were doing the right thing. This is cult behavior and cult thinking. If this behavior is condoned by whatever higher being she claims to have believed in, then why was she so scared that R would escape and get to the jail? These women make me so angry.....
I’ve watched this video maybe two times before and several things stand out that really bother me about Kevin and how he responds. But one in particular that is disturbing is right after he finds out the condition of his 2 youngest children, at the point where the officer ask would he condone that and he hesitates and says, “would I condone that”? And the officer says something to the effect that no human being should be treated like that, Kevin’s reply is a half-hearted no feeling “yeah, okay”!!!! Something is just gravely wrong with that! Yes I know he was in shock and all that. But most normal people , especially the parent of one of those two children, should have been mortified, sickened, and sobbing for having heard how bad they were. I cried so many times while watching both of these children. Why do I feel like we all are far more upset than he ever shows here?
Wish I could ask questions? He said I came to pick up kids. He hasn’t seen them in a yr. Kevin won’t give police address, who told him to come and pick up kids. I would not put up with his crap.
Where exactly are you getting your information. I, the authorities, news reporters, prosecutors all believe he was shunned from the family by Ruby and did not know what was going on. He was under Ruby’s narcissistic spell.
@@SunnyDays70s there are a few vids of him with ruby in the car talking about disciplining the children, maybe he didnt know the extent but he knew something....
Remember, she was the boss of the children, he trusted her with them. He wouldn't dare cross her. What she said goes. And therein lies the problem. If only he had some guts and cared for his children.
Ruby's YT videos should be titled "6 Prisoners" and not "8 Passengers". Because that's what her children were to her - prisoners. Moreover, this woman treated them in an inhumane way, starving and humiliating them. I won't mention Kevin because he attracts contempt as a man.
Prisoners aren't even treated this bad. Their only punishnent is being confined to a jail cell. They aren't ever deprived of food or water. They aren't tortured by having to stand in direct sunlight, duct taped, none of the things these INNOCENT harmless CHILDREN had to endure. 😡
I would love to see a deeper dive into Jodi's connection to the LDS church. Ruby's journal has entries indicating that Jodi met with senior church leaders at various times. She has previously had her license revoked, and I'm not suggesting the leadership knew of this specific abuse, but why has the church continued to refer people to a therapist who has had her license suspended. And how deep does Jodi's connection to the church actually go?
Brad Wilcox, who gave Jodie Hildebrandt a blessing is one of the 12 General Authorities of the Mormon church. She was the therapist that the church sent Adam Steed, the BSA abuse whistle blower to Jodie to abuse. The church followed Adam throughout his life to silence him. They are connected to the Daybell serial killer case because they all were listed speakers at Another Voice of Warning (AVOW) and Preparing A People conferences. Tim Ballard was a frequent speaker. He was buddies with M. Russell Ballard, another General Authority from the quorum of the 12, who passed away recently. There are many other podcasters following these fundamental folks footzoning and practicing "spiritual wifery"
.. you know, it would sound like fiction because of how nefarious the entire 3 hundred billion dollar corporation actually is, but sadly, it is what it is.
From what I understand, the boy (R) that escaped had been threatened by one or both of the women (Ruby and Jodi) with calling the police on him. When he showed up at the neighbor’s door he wasn’t seeking help from the police so much as he was turning himself in, thus the “It’s personal business”. They likely threatened the little girl (E) the same way. She was probably terrified when the officers showed up.
I find it odd that Kevin Franke doesn't know what "emaciated" means. He's a college professor and a native English speaker. The word is not that rare. In the context I wondered if his question, "What does emaciated mean?" was more an attempt to look for some wiggle-room, "My son is slim, he's not at death's door from starvation." The policeman's response, to go back to giving him synonyms, was probably the best.
Ruby and Jodi were abusive and crazy before they met each other and when they got together, they used each other to justify their sadism. I don't believe one word of Ruby's claim that she realizes it now. That's just more gaslighting. She is as screwed up as Jodi, just slyer. What they did to these kids is pure sadism and I hope they never get out. Kevin otoh I do believe realized how crazy it was. I even think he will eventually realuze how abusive she was to his kids and how negligent he was going along. But I hope he just gets actual help and not his kids back. They need to be safe.
The father gives me uncomfortable vibes! I believe he knew that his wife's thinking and her handling of the kids was suspect. To walk away so easily just hits me wrong. He should be watched very carefully, and I would talk extensively to the older children about their dad. Letting him have custody of his kids spooks me!
I've been wondering for a while why Jodi was already on the telephone to her attorney before her arrest. My guess is that she found that R was missing and made an educated guess that this time he'd successfully got help. The fact that she chose to call her attorney, as opposed to calling 911 to report a missing child, suggests that she knew that what she was doing was wrong. EDIT: And another minor anomaly. Ruby refers to throwing E in a dog bath. Off the top of my head, none of the screenshots from "8 passengers" includes a dog, I don't remember seeing any dogs in the excerpts of their videos I saw back in the day. While it's possible they used to own a dog, or that Jodi used to own a dog, I'd like to know when the dog bath was acquired and for what purpose. Because my spidey sense says that it was for torturing kids, not washing dogs or perhaps some legitimate form of craft.
Apparently Jodi was out driving the neighborhood looking for the boy and encountered the police who told her to go back to her house. Hence, she knew the police were now involved so she called her lawyer.
My response also! I LOVE how her perceived control is pulled out from under her and she is lost, absolutely smile. From there to a cage, not as nice as the cage in her home! Happy over here! 😊
These two women KNEW what they were doing was wrong. When Russell escaped Jodi's home, they knew that their scam was over. That's why Jodi was on the phone with her attorney when the police showed up to find Eve, under exigent circumstances. Ruby wasn't at the house at the time, but she knew, which is why she called Kevin, out of the blue, to come get the kids, because she knew she was going to be arrested, once Russell's escape was reported to the police. They knew. Kevin never knew that his family was even IN Ivins, UT, which is near St. George, which is on the border with Arizona and Nevada, near Las Vegas. Kevin had to drive FIVE hours to get to Ivins from where he was, north of Salt Lake City (Brigham University campus). Ruby had gone no-contact with him, on Jodi's advice as her mental health therapist, to save his marriage. He was totally in shock at all of this, and this is the reaction he's displaying when being interviewed by the police there in Ivins in regards to his knowledge of what happened to the two youngest children.
But he should have known. He didn’t bother to see his kids for a year and even in the interview he was more concerned with whether Ruby was ok than what happened to his kids. He is a horribly neglectful father and I wouldn’t trust him to protect them if he is granted custody.
Why is no one talking about Rubys two sisters who also have their own social media channels where they parade around their children. They were aware of the abuse and claim they were powerless to help the children.
Two of the sisters have spoken out, one put out a video about their concern over what Ruby was telling them about what she was learning from Jodi, then contact was severed.
@@gointothedogs4634That’s probably true, but what is so gross is that the sisters, especially Bonnie, have made and posted videos on their RUclips channels talking about Ruby after her arrest. And those videos were monetized. Bonnie even did one on how she told her children about Ruby. It makes me sick that she is financially profiting off the backs of her physically & mentally abused nephew and niece. It’s pathetic. I unsubscribed to the three Griffith sisters RUclips channels and unfollowed all of them on Instagram. I haven’t watched any of their videos in months. Somethings not right with that entire family.
If you are going to put new content out, actually put out new content! And we don’t need to see R at his neighbor’s house again. It was hard enough seeing it the first 10 times.
I really feel like the dad was involved too. Especially after hearing the phone call between him and Ruby. Not to mention Pam too and her hubby. I mean Pam is a member of Connextions too, very suspicious.
I am so glad they were never able to bring the kids to the land they were trying to get. It would have been even more torture and labour. I don’t think they would have survived long out there. It’s sick that they are capped at 30 years in prison after what they did and how much trauma all the children will have forever.
The mom is delusional, both mom and dad are self absorbed narcissists. These women could very well have killed these children and the fathers excuses are inexcusable. Sad they will be sent back to the father.
Kevins comment @13:55 says it all about how he doesn’t care how his children were treated. “Ya okay” what?! These people are giving off the same vibes as Lori and Chad Daybell! The persecutor said that Ruby showed remorse. When are they going to release the phone call where she shows remorse? Her "thank you" speech didn't have a drop of remorse for her children in it.
Kevin just knows that he has to play their game now. Same as Ruby. Once Ruby realized that she needed to pretend to be incredibly remorseful to get out, she got into her role…. Kevin realized that he needed to pretend to not believe in the same crazy beliefs that Ruby and Jodi do, in order to have any chance whatsoever in getting the kids back. Yes.
This makes me think he used this question repetition on his students and his own children, to specifically shame them for questioning his authority
I think Kevin used the repeating questions technique on his students and his children to shame them for questioning his authority. His students had complained of his behavior in the past at BYU.

EXACTLY!!!!
Exactly
I was surprised they let him know what they were trying to figure out in the first place. I believe they shouldn't have revealed they were trying to figure out his involvement
The father should not ever get his kids back. He is just as bad as the mother.

I found the wound photos. They are so disturbing. Evidence says it all.
That cop that came out to read her charges to her was HILARIOUS!!!!!
Obviously from seeing some of 8 passengers podcast Kevin is involved in the abuse! No Christmas for kids? He apparently goes along with it!
Wish I could ask questions? He said I came to pick up kids. He hasn’t seen them in a yr. Kevin won’t give police address, who told him to come and pick up kids. I would not put up with his crap.
I think Ruby called him; told him about police, etc. I think that's why he was there to pick up the kids.

It did come out later that Ruby was the one who called him to get the kids. It was part of the big evidence drop last week

It strikes me that the church leadership have again colluded with these monsters by remaining silent as they did with the Daybell case.

The husband knows exactly whats going on in that home ...needs to be charged !
The charges are too lenient, they were going to kill R & A

I find it odd that Kevin Franke doesn't know what "emaciated" means. He's a college professor and a native English speaker. The word is not that rare.
In the context I wondered if his question, "What does emaciated mean?" was more an attempt to look for some wiggle-room, "My son is slim, he's not at death's door from starvation." The policeman's response, to go back to giving him synonyms, was probably the best.
Maybe the boy was a normal stature and slim weight the last time Kevin saw him so there might have been a bit of disbelief hearing the word emaciated.
Kevin is not a father, a father would have been concerned and checked on his kids. He looks as evil as Ruby and Jodi.
agree, so messed up those kids will go back to him. He failed them in EVERY way. Pathetic coward.
yup. he looks like a total slob when is not dressed up.

I hate when people are like "I need to pick up my kids". Well, you should have thought of that before. Since when do you care about your kids.
Since they could tell police about him too
"Woah woah woah woah woah!" Jodi was absolutely "in distortion.
Hope both Ruby & Jodi do not see a blue sky outside of prison walls for decades.
Watch his second interview and MormonStories interviews with other men.
Maybe because of their religious beliefs, he thought it was appropriate punishment if the demons are involved.
Those kids are so brainwashed by this point, and look how CPS failed the younger kids over and over again. This story is so brutal.
I’ll never not smile with glee when Jodi opens the door looking like a deer in headlights 😂
My response also! I LOVE how her perceived control is pulled out from under her and she is lost, absolutely smile. From there to a cage, not as nice as the cage in her home! Happy over here! 😊
Woah.. woah...woah... 😂

The way Kevin speaks and conducts himself here is not the same way that we knew him on 8 passengers.
Kevin and Ruby are all about ME ME ME ME ME
I'm sure someone will take care of Jodi and Ruby in prison, even hardened criminals can't stand child abusers.
Ruby and husband deserve 20 to 30 years period.
They moved the BYU campus from 45 mins south of Salt Lake City to north of it?
How did poor Russell not end up with sepsis from the infection from the wounds. This is beyond horrifying.
So many years of abusing children. Disgusting. Pam should be in prison too!
Why is no one talking about Rubys two sisters who also have their own social media channels where they parade around their children. They were aware of the abuse and claim they were powerless to help the children.
Ruby shut them out and basically said they are fine and the sisters hands were tired I think
They are also abusers to their children

I really feel like the dad was involved too. Especially after hearing the phone call between him and Ruby.
Not to mention Pam too and her hubby. I mean Pam is a member of Connextions too, very suspicious.
I am so glad they were never able to bring the kids to the land they were trying to get. It would have been even more torture and labour. I don’t think they would have survived long out there. It’s sick that they are capped at 30 years in prison after what they did and how much trauma all the children will have forever.
6:34 Ruby "invited" him to leave the home. There's that word again that they use: invited. So weird.

If that poor child had not escaped, they would have been unalived at some point! And it sounds like it would have been soon.
I pray they never have to be with their father again.
Lori's name is Vallow not Daybell.

He had a change of heart because he was introduced to the whole truth not just Ruby’s truth. I couldn’t imagine being blindsided like he was. 🇨🇦
Kevin should be charged. He knew what was going on and did nothing to protect his children.
The persecutor said that Ruby showed remorse. When are they going to release the phone call where she shows remorse? Her "thank you" speech didn't have a drop of remorse for her children in it.
How could Kevin have NO contact with his kids for over a year? That s negligence.
Why is no one examining the child corn angle? The young boy R did not get access to corn at three years old by himself.
Kevin just knows that he has to play their game now. Same as Ruby. Once Ruby realized that she needed to pretend to be incredibly remorseful to get out, she got into her role….
