If i only could run away from my family and my country and start again , maybe then i could feel like a Human. I'll be just grateful for that. Life would be easier..
I feel like I was born in the wrong country...I love my mum but we just have to many arguments and she says that I don't help out enough but I just don't have the energy as I'm always so depressed 😔
To be happy u need to be grateful.....I can relate I’ve been there but when I tried this it worked. Be grateful to small things....like I have a family , I have food , I can see, walk, hear while some ppl can’t ..yeah I hope I helped you at least a little bit.
as a rather introverted person, at the same time being a shy guy with a moderete level of social anxiety, zoning out is comfortable I must say. But rather in the sense that not always I imagine past or future, just observe then I have a conversation with myself. Coming out with a topic and discussing with myself, sometimes I agree to the voices in my head, sometimes I make a reason to decline. Of course it is not rare as well that I zone out like as discribed in the video since, I'm anxious most of the time. I get to the point of being lost from the world, just to enjoy my internal monologue
Same here. I always find myself waking up unhappy but I don't know why, before that sleep I was very happy and comfortable with everything, after waking up, I feel all the negativity
I practice meditation too, and I can totally relate to what you said. I'm trying different things... maybe we're too calm, we need some excitement and hedonism for contrast... 😄
Meditation does not really help unless you can be happy with your present conditions. Like if you are Paul Pogba, you can be unhappy with your club but after meditating, you realise how happy you can be with your millions.
I started having depression at the age of 9. I start historically crying when i'm all alone and no one's there. I actually like being alone. Because it makes me let all my tears old till I calm down and then be normal. One time I used a tip that in my brain I pictured a settings page and I said "Happiness 100%" and it actually kinda worked! It doesn't work anymore all I just do is put out a big smile and confuse my brain if i'm happy or not.
My dads friend told me that in order to live a full life is to not take things to seriously and to not react to failure with sadness but with an intent to learn from it and become better, also find what you like to do don’t let your family influence what you like to do and your job, he told me that the best thing he did was study abroad and go on vacations by himself to force himself to meet people and interact more, he said that changed the way he thought and stopped being so shy. He also said that not everyone is your friends and your friends from childhood aren’t your close friends but people you know but you will start to make deeper connections starting from your teenage years, so just put yourself out there and be more relaxed and don’t care too much and don’t be shy.
I can’t be happy anymore I can’t go outside anymore I can’t goofy around anymore I gotta be matured now because I’m older? I hate being older now I want my child self back I want her back i want the girl who used to be happy and everyone loved her but she’s gone she’s not here anymore why? I really don’t want to go through this anymore cuz I want to be happy......again I want to be alive again I want to have freedom again I want to go out without being yelled or being forced staying at home again I miss it all I REALLY DO
I don't agree with the answer unfortunately. I think the answer lies in being gratefull and thankfull for everything. Instead of looking at things you don't have, concentrate on things you do have. Also loving, yourself, others and giving is a big part of happiness. The reason for this is that your thoughts determine your feelings and that determines your behavior. So how you think is the most crucial thing for determining happiness within yourself. You can still meditate and still feel depressed several years (know that by a friend of mine). I've learned this by psychology and studies
the perpetual bliss is a lie. It doesn't exist. Happiness comes and never overstays its welcome, therefore we should deeply appreciate it when it arrives. We should realize that no one can or have "it all" so we can cut down on the one thing that impedes our happiness: Envy.
I wanted to leave the place several times. It's all becaude of my mind. I over analyze things a lot. I feel like it never gets better. I have my hopes and dreams, but it those little things like getting a bad grade that bring me super down. It's weird. I just want to keep a positive mindset. I don't want to be happy i want to be perfect. So I won't feel so left out and so I won't let others down anymore. It feel like I just can't achieve that. It feels like one the days a feel happiest, the darkness comes in and I feed it. I feel likr giving up
I have been feeling like this. I should be so grateful as I am not going through any real hardship - still feel so alone and not myself - like my spark is diminishing. I just need to get over this and hopefully I’ll be happy again.
You’re absolutely right, I started meditating when I was 16 and i can’t even describe it. It was clarity. It was contentment. Mindfulness was easier, natural. I felt ready to thank on the world & explore it. Now that I’m 25 I haven’t meditated due to not having my own room for years and constantly moving… but since I have that safe space now. I’m going to start meditating again, Thankyou for reminding me. I’m just scared of all the thoughts to sift through since the last time…but it’ll be worth it. Thankyou!
Thank you very much for this video. Very informative about our tendencies to want, to reject, to zone out. I really love the thought on mindfulness - focusing on what's important. Great video!
The productivity culture makes us care so much about the result, that we forget to enjoy the process. The Forwago helped me to keep improving myself and achieving my goals while still enjoying the process, and I am so grateful because of that.
I’ve been failing high school and always wanting so much more than my brother.I get the idea now, thank you. And I’m not meditating 99% of videos like these it’s always gots do with meditating
Don’t worry! I was really sad and suicidal in grade 7 but things weirdly got better! Idk how long it will come for you but trust me, things will get better
That happened to me, i was feeling really low all the time and could't snap out of it, then i began hard exercise and gradually i began to feel better, now i dance as well as much as i can, i feel great !! Put the effort in and you'll get a break through 👍
I know the potential of meditation as a habit and how awesome it really is. But is seems so hard for a beginner (like myself) to sit even for 10 minutes there, concentrate on my breath and clear my mind. Do you have any tips or meditation techniques to suggest? It would be cool if you also include this in the next video.
221rays as a daily meditator, honestly JUST START WITH 2 MINUTES. set a timer on your phone, find somewhere quiet and for just 2 minutes focus on your breath. your mond will try to zone out and that's OK, keep in mind that you can't fail meditation. whatever effort you make will make a difference in your mind. Cheers!
221rays Try guided meditations first. It really helps specially for beginners, if there's someone guiding you in your meditation (even if it's a pre-recirded tape). There are plenty of excellent apps out there with guided meditation sessions like Insight Timer, Headspace, Calm, Omvana etc... I'd recommend the first 2, they helped me the most. And no, it's NOT meant to be hard. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Best of luck, 221rays!
Today I woke up happy and excited for online classes and at the end of the day, I got tons of homeworks and project and now Im ready to procrastinate and cry myself to sleep
l o n e l y g r x n d e doesn’t matter even if it really does not exist. considering that happiness is something everyone can achieve, we should still try and live our lives to the fullest, regardless of the mystery that clouds the future :)
Talha Khan Palal but it’s difficult , making it almost impossible for us to find the happy things in life when we’re continuously forced to do things we don’t want. We’re just sick of it. Nice to hear from you though, appreciate it
Tbh when I bought my Xbox one and put it in my room, I don't remember a time I was bored and anytime anything bad happens I just hop on Xbox and things are better
I know nobody's going to read this so I'm just going to put it all out here. I'm tired of pretending like everything's alright and that I'm strong and that I don't cry. I'm broken and I've got no one by my side
this is awesome but there is 1 false point made in this video, meditating is... NOT... the only way to become more mindful for example, and anyone who is reading this can try the following... just decide, decide that your going to look at things with wonder, you will then realise that everything has some amazement to it, decide you want to be mindful, make it a goal every morning and the chances are you will achieve it. certainly there are plenty of ways to become more mindful.
I freaking absolutely LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. THIS IS THE BEST CHANNEL ON RUclips. THE THINGS THAT I HAVE LEARNT FROM HERE CAN'T BE COMPARED TO ANYTHING. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Its just that, I see people around me happy in school even when there grades are low But no matter how much my grades are high, I can't get rid of sadness Its just that i feel like a failure to my family I want to die but I can't, i started seeing my friends go out without me (bestfriends) every time when i get sad i just store the sadness and its come out in a form of either anger or depression
I sometimes feel like I'm meditating when I'm lifting weights. I ignore everything around me and the only thing that's on my mind is the task ahead of me. Is this wrong of me to say? Or do I need to meditate properly if I want to reap all the benefits as well
mr1337viking it's because you enjoy it. Enjoyment isn't limited to wanting or being mindful, it's just loving what you are doing. The chemical reactions and dopamine released, the burn, the results. Just enjoy it man, Love is powerful
F*ck yes! Meditiation! I just read about Meditation in "Tools of Titans" (which I read because you recommended it) btw) and I definitely want to learn how to meditate!
Leonholic Check out Headspace on the app store. The first 10 guided sessions are EXCELLENT for beginners and are free. After that, check out the mindfulness app called Insight Timer. It has literally thousands of free guided meditations and a whole community of meditators. Best of luck Leon!
StratosFear1992 sounds like you've been meditating for a while. So what do you think?? Does meditation work?? Is it really the true way to eternal happiness?? What's been you're experience, I'd love to know!
J_Venchy I don't want to oversell meditation as a wonder pill but in my personal case, it really has transformed my life for the better. I started meditating a year ago in my final year of uni and it gave me the self awareness to know what my aim really was and the extra focus to study harder than I ever did. I aced my final exams and since then it has helped me improve in so many ways. Meditation only actually develops a greater sense of calm, focus and self-awareness in you. That self awareness however is key, as it helps you detect unhealthy habits and patterns in your behaviour that you weren't even aware existed. It made me realise how I was sabotaging my own success and that it was MY responsibility to make a conscious change. I stopped complaining and living in the past or blaming my situation on anyone or anything other than myself. I finally started reading and watching resources about self development and actually started putting them into practice. So meditation was for me a "keystone" habit whose positive effect spilled over into every other aspect of my life. I started a journal (as opposed to a diary) and have discovered so many self destructive thought and behavioral patterns in myself. Have gotten the focus to stick to an exercise regimen. I've learned to recognise feelings of anger and frustration as soon as they arise. This especially has helped me A LOT in dealing with people (be they close or strangers) Am better able to deal with situations when shit hits the fan. Overall more calm and focused. So mindfulness ITSELF may only make you 10% happier but if you keep your practice up, it will snowball into something truly transformative. If you're already a very disciplined and focused person, it may not make as big an impact, but it WILL help you nontheless with very little time investment on your part. So I'd definitely advise you to try it for a week. Since it's free, there really is no pressure to carry on if you find it's not working for you.
The feeling of being nearly blind and then finally putting your contacts in after not having them and you get to look at the trees and sky and clouds and just smile because life is so beautiful. If it wasn't for the experience I would call this video bogus, but I seriously agree. If you can look at anything and fully sit there and comprehend it, it can be a spark of gratefulness and often lead to a happy mindset.
I’m going to a new school, and I’m so afraid that I won’t make any friends or fit in that I’m constantly stressed and unhappy. Thanks for the tips, I will try and be more mindful
I've been stuck on the most horrific chapter of my life for 18 years! I want to make a change. I want to finally feel something. I've been trying to better myself over quarantine and I've certainly gotten things done but it's not enough. I need to keep trying. I need to keep working hard. I don't want to fall back into the pit of an endless cycle of darkness again 🥺
Wanting rejecting and zoning out ?? there is no other situation for 99% of the people ?????? When i'm having fun talking with friends, having pleasure heating or beeing satisfied of having done sport you really think that this is part of wanting rejecting and zoning out ?? [sorry for my bad english, love your video but not enought scientifique proof/sources]
I just watched this video and just meditated for the first time. All the symptoms you talked about occurred, but along with it a weird magical thing that I want to experience again some time. When I sat there, just as you said my mind wondered off in the first few seconds but I brought it back to breathing. And my mind constantly dwelled off but somewhere I weirdly managed to bring it to the present, an experience I've never had before. It was like I was there, but not there. I was only thinking about breathing, the fluid of air going in and out, and I felt my heart beat. Then the next part felt really weird, it felt as if I was an observer from outside watching myself and feeling myself at the same time. I was in the real world, but at the same time in my own world, and then my mind was suddenly just blank. Only thoughts were on my nose and the air around it. No sense of time whatsoever, I don't know how long I sat there but just suddenly my 5 minute alarm woke me up and I am now in a weird sense of calm, detached from my emotions. I just wanted to share this if it was interesting, even though it might have been a common experience
I like this channel but downvoted this video and here's why: Meditation isn't a new thing and it has arrived even in our western pop culture since decades. You're trying to answer the complicated question of how to become happy in life by simply throwing in some random advice one of which is meditation - as if it is that simple. But actully it's not. If it would be, we wouldn't have this billion dollar self help industry throwing new books, seminars and pills every year into the market. Life is complicated, contains suffering and each one of us is facing different obstacles. There is no ultimate way to become ultimately happy. Is this video worthless? I don't think so, but the title should rater be "Some ideas on how to become happier in life".
A person is happy when he does not despair over the past and does not think about the future, I mean reassurance, and a person is also happy when he helps others, and always the happiest person is the one who helps others the most. Your friend from Syria
"Yeah you might get a glimse of happiness from your achievements, but what you'll learn as you get older, every time you reach one, is you'll just make another goal that doesn't lead to freedom." - NF

the perpetual bliss is a lie.
I feel likr giving up
3000 years of philosophy to find how to be happy and there is still no answer to it but a 4 minutes video will change that!!
Improvement Pill not really but love you tho
@@ANTISHMETTT do you even meditate bro?
the answer the religion
@Qiyana in your opinion but respect it
This made me burst into tears after watching this😭
I think this is why I keep shopping so much..I focus on happiness, not "getting to the next thing"
I just wanna see my friends again.
I just wanna live before I can’t.
If I saw them, I’d be happy. I think. I hope.
This is a great illustration on the truth of happiness around us...
Great work guys!
I wished this video actually helped me.
I have been feeling like this. I should be so grateful as I am not going through any real hardship - still feel so alone and not myself - like my spark is diminishing. I just need to get over this and hopefully I’ll be happy again.
You’re absolutely right,
I started meditating when I was 16 and i can’t even describe it.
I need to be happy I am incredibly sad
What's making you unhappy?
Dance for 1 hour solid to a funky house classic 😎

Guys life has its ups and downs. Its like the ocean, never calm. I am hypochondriac and it really eats my self but better days are coming
I am really depressed and I don't know why:\
We live in a society...
Put the effort in and you'll get a break through 👍
bassam youssef same, but I know why:(

Cheers!
shir35303 I understand. Well this is good to know then.
check out 'Mindfulness in Plain English' by Henepola Gunaratana...perfect for beginners
Thank you all for the suggestions! :)
predators; they are around me. whenever i want to be happy, they make me sad. and i became sad, again and again. even if i want to be happy. I can't.
Thats so true...

These are the kinds of videos I love about this channel
True, when you focus on what you have right now you'll leave no room for complaining and negative thoughts
happiness is in my name
1) I don't want things though....
2) I do rejecting with myself....
3) I can't help dissacotiating...
"I don't seek happiness, but i look for pleasure"
I feel better when i see that we all write "how to be happy"...guys we deserve the world
Today I woke up happy and excited for online classes and at the end of the day, I got tons of homeworks and project and now Im ready to procrastinate and cry myself to sleep
Deal with it. We’re all living for a future that doesn’t exist.
l o n e l y g r x n d e doesn’t matter even if it really does not exist. considering that happiness is something everyone can achieve, we should still try and live our lives to the fullest, regardless of the mystery that clouds the future :)
Talha Khan Palal but it’s difficult , making it almost impossible for us to find the happy things in life when we’re continuously forced to do things we don’t want. We’re just sick of it. Nice to hear from you though, appreciate it
Nature love SAMEEEE
I feel like I'm just sad cuz im setting too high expectations for myself.
Tbh when I bought my Xbox one and put it in my room, I don't remember a time I was bored and anytime anything bad happens I just hop on Xbox and things are better
same here
Same. But it's getting old. Now I have to find something else.
Distractions always help...until they don't anymore.😞
My Xbox is my drug. It’s bad
Idk try a book. It’s like traveling without using your legs
Easy to say, hard to do. What if you are rejecting the things around you.
I know nobody's going to read this so I'm just going to put it all out here. I'm tired of pretending like everything's alright and that I'm strong and that I don't cry. I'm broken and I've got no one by my side
i love you sm
Happiness is our greatest need..."by serving others, our own highest needs are met..." Serve and keep serving.... give and never stop giving...
exactly what i need now...mindfulness :D.. thanks for the video
this is awesome but there is 1 false point made in this video, meditating is... NOT... the only way to become more mindful for example, and anyone who is reading this can try the following... just decide, decide that your going to look at things with wonder, you will then realise that everything has some amazement to it, decide you want to be mindful, make it a goal every morning and the chances are you will achieve it. certainly there are plenty of ways to become more mindful.
Family is the true happiness.
Tepes Obrejac my family says I’m unhappy all the time and that makes me more unhappy
I freaking absolutely LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. THIS IS THE BEST CHANNEL ON RUclips. THE THINGS THAT I HAVE LEARNT FROM HERE CAN'T BE COMPARED TO ANYTHING.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Its just that, I see people around me happy in school even when there grades are low
But no matter how much my grades are high, I can't get rid of sadness
Its just that i feel like a failure to my family
I want to die but I can't, i started seeing my friends go out without me (bestfriends)
every time when i get sad i just store the sadness and its come out in a form of either anger or depression
Literally just search "How to become happy"
:')
I sometimes feel like I'm meditating when I'm lifting weights. I ignore everything around me and the only thing that's on my mind is the task ahead of me. Is this wrong of me to say? Or do I need to meditate properly if I want to reap all the benefits as well
mr1337viking meditation and any physical act that makes you focused and Zoned in is the way to go.... happy lifting
mr1337viking it's because you enjoy it.
Leonholic just sit in a comfterbel position. close your eyes. focus on your breathing and try not to think.
Leonholic Check out Headspace on the app store. The first 10 guided sessions are EXCELLENT for beginners and are free. After that, check out the mindfulness app called Insight Timer. It has literally thousands of free guided meditations and a whole community of meditators. Best of luck Leon!
StratosFear1992 Awesome, thanks man!
StratosFear1992 sounds like you've been meditating for a while. So what do you think?? Does meditation work?? Is it really the true way to eternal happiness?? What's been you're experience, I'd love to know!

I don't want to oversell meditation as a wonder pill but in my personal case, it really has transformed my life for the better.
This especially has helped me A LOT in dealing with people (be they close or strangers)
Am better able to deal with situations when shit hits the fan.
That is what a true guru is for... to help you be happy...
So i just need to meditate for 10 minutes every day?
And the way i do it is sitting on the ground and than breath calm and then think of my day is that good?
No you have clean your mind the goal is to think as less as possible.
There are actually a lot of great guided meditation videos here on youtube. Maybe you want to just give it a try. :)
I tried To be happy but I cant my society is killing me.
how do you make these videos. I've seen other yters use this as well
CM Punk why would you want to make crappy videos.
Will Will do a favour for everyone, just don’t watch them
I’m going to a new school, and I’m so afraid that I won’t make any friends or fit in that I’m constantly stressed and unhappy.
I think the thumbnail is the other way around. people tend to pretend they're happy.
Not gonna lie , 2019 is my lonely year
I have no memory of writing this comment whatsoever
Mine is 2019 and 2020 😔
Wanting rejecting and zoning out ?? there is no other situation for 99% of the people ??????
I just wanted to share this if it was interesting, even though it might have been a common experience
to everyone who feels hopeless during this pandemic, sitting with their thoughts everyday, be kind to yourself and hold on. this world needs you.
I don't think so, but the title should rater be "Some ideas on how to become happier in life".
great point!
True. Something is wrong indeed.
So basically, consumerism, and by extension, capitalism, makes people unhappy? What a surprise.
I know what I want.
For my parents to be proud of me.
A person is happy when he does not despair over the past and does not think about the future, I mean reassurance, and a person is also happy when he helps others, and always the happiest person is the one who helps others the most. Your friend from Syria
Yuh :) you’re right ( change your state of mind you sort of)
"Yeah you might get a glimse of happiness from your achievements, but what you'll learn as you get older, every time you reach one, is you'll just make another goal that doesn't lead to freedom." - NF
