Ok yea they can sound like Tool at times but they do have their own vibe too. I mean if you're a prog metal band now, how can you NOT be influenced by them?
Come on guys, there's enough room in our hearts for both Tool and Wheel ^_^
Especially because tool hasn’t released a significantly above average album in 14 years and wheel have. To me at least.
Huh, so this is better than the stuff Tool released last year? Are you stuck in 1990 by any chance?
Oh ya!
@@spyretto nothing wrong with that right
@@spyretto Tools last album was trash
Instead of comparing them to TOOL, I'd say that tool started a genre that is gaining popularity, Karnivool, and Porcupine Tree and that band....Lucid Planet are a genre. An awesome one!!
interesting idea!
Porcupine tree es alternativo, y eso los hace diferentes.
Let’s not forget Meshuggah. Def an influence on these guys, too!
Well said, friend 👏👍
@@stephenhowardfranklin7778- The singer James has mentioned being a fan of them
first band that sounds like tool but not trying to imitate. I can't stop listening... Awesome piece of experience!

Lateralus + The Grudge + Jambi
Amazing
As a fan of Tool, I just discovered this band and I really only have good words, yes, they sound like Tool, but they are influenced by Tool, nothing else, they have their own style and are different, oh well Tool has influenced bands like these are amazing!
Intro heavily reminds me of Roquefort by Karnivool.
To me it sounded more like The Grudge by Tool...
karnivol meets tool
Great material. More Karnivool, not much of Tool.
My new favorite band. Fookin amazing!
Same bro
Can't stop listening. Love the new album, also. I wouldn't mind finding an interview that asks James what his influencers were other than Tool, because that's the only comparison everyone seems to be able to make. I would lean closer to a Karnivool / Porcupine Tree vibe, but Wheel have their own style and I love it.
Made me fkin cry of joy.. been looking for bands/musicians/music in general, that could hit me as hard as this ever since i discovered tool 14 years ago.
Thank you.. Thank you so much..
Same dude, so glad I found this band!
Tim Roth can sing his ass off! Who Knew?
Love the sound. He's even got Maynard's lisp.
The best ‘new’ rock band I’ve heard in 30 years… the last time I wrote that sentence, I was writing in a music industry magazine called The Tip Sheet about a new band from the West Coast of the US which nobody had heard of called… TOOL!
i wasn’t quite ready for it… now i’m trying to put the scattered pieces of my former self together… hopeless… and while many make comparisons, whose inspirations seem rather obvious if you consider it a sub-genre established almost singlehandedly by one prolific band, and the tribute to the older brothers is clearly there, i take it all in as a fresh, personal, meaningful and deeply resonant. thank you James, Santeri, Aki and Jussi. you’ve opened a new path for me. 🙏
Amen 👍🙏🏻
Oh my god, this is perfect! Strong Tool vibes, love it!
Im stunned.. and your new fan. O_O
Karnivool´s Roquefort + The Grudge by TOOL= Wheel´s Farewell
These guys are really good though. They're a pain in the ass to try and search for though. >.
It hasn't gotten any better
"wheel band" worked perfectly for me... works for lots of other bands too.
Saw them last weekend in Finland. Awesome gig
Try searching for their eponymous song. "Wheel - Wheel". Absolute madness.
I'm just totally impressed.... sounds fantastic... please give me more. Great job.
I saw these guys a couple months ago as they opened for Vola and now I'm a fan. Solid live performance and great songs!
Love the Tool vibe, love this band!🤘
Love that crunchy bass sound.
Subscribed after only hearing Vultures. Love the music, love the voice.
Look up their song Dissipating.
Fantastic band, both on record and live. Loved my experience in Seattle and can't wait to fully discover their catalog. I'm already telling everyone in my circle about them. Deserved!
Where can i find the lyrics????
There is SO MUCH good prog metal/rock music coming out of Australia, it's insane. This band doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Dream Aussie prog festival: Karnivool, Caligula's Horse, Wheel, Plini, The Butterfly Effect
Not denying that, however I thought this band was Finnish?
@@Shadovox I’m dumb, they are. Not sure how I got that in my head lol 😂
Great band, not so great video. Looking forward to MORE WHEEL!
WHEEL is so damned good.
Ok, so wheel sounds like tool sometimes... ¿is that a problem? with apc moving backwards, actually wheel pushes forward. Ultra talented and gutsy musicians!
These guys combine all my favourite bands to a metal orgasm!
Hahaha, very well said :)
I recently discover your music but I have to say that it's a shame that such a brilliant track like this one has only so little listenings/viewings. Waitin' for new album ("Hyperion" is awesome) and can't stand to finally see you on live show in Gdansk with Epica and Apocalyptica, January 2022. Best wishes from Poland!
dude..... this...is....fucking.....sick!! progressive metal is still alive and well! tool/temple of thieves-ish...COME TO ATLANTA!!! FUCK... I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YALL LIVE!!
This band has majestic tone quality!
it's actually crazy how people get this wrong nowadays with modern technology, baffling
@@ericcotter1984 Not all people spend time on good music or even understand what is heavy and what pretends to be genuine! it seems like people get fooled by the latter easily!
what a great support at the "The Intersphere" concert (28.04. HH, Molotow) (Y)
Cheers from Brazil! You guys rock, simply amazing. Muito foda!
What a track! Brilliant! I've got my dose of bass riffs in here for a year
Love this song most. As a bassist I miss Mikko. The sound of his bass in this track is so solid, hands down my favorite from the band. I prefer the cleaner tone, sound, and style he used in this entire EP above any of Wheel's other work. Moving Backwards is a close 2nd bass tone speaking. Mikko will be missed. This is not a slight on the talent of Aki, just an opinion and no way discrediting anything Aki brings to the band. Both are amazing and talented, I just prefer the sound here. Can't wait to see you in Sept in NC. Been waiting a long time.
Got damn. That is a great fucking song.
When will there be a complete album??? Can`t wait... "The Change" is so great!!!
THEY KNOW THEY MUST DESEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERVEEEE!!!!!!! :)
This band will be GREAT!!!!! Thanks for playing in aschaffenburg. only wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! Their guitarist looks like Dwight WITHOUT wearing a costume! 😋
WOW, simply AMAZING!
Love
Byłem. Widziałem. I było ZAJEBIŚCIE... 👍👍👍 SUPER BAND pozdrowienia z POLSKI!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Album #2 pls.
Man, this is so sick! Amazing!
We really liked your gig in Cologne yesterday!!! It's a pity that there're only three tracks on your EP... More, please :)
This band is really growing on me!
Still a great track 😀
Nää on tosiaan kivoja pikku Tool juttuja. Keikalla olin aistivinani myös vähän Deftonesia. Ja kun etsin Wheelin Spotifysta, olinkin jo joskus aiemmin klikannut Seuraa :D Todella kova!
Heard "The Path" yesterday. Wow. Great. I´m a fan. Bought the vinyl. ^^
Anyone have the lyrics?
good shit
You guys doing a great job !
I am looking forward to hear you on summerbreeze !
For anyone bitching they sound like Tool, I dare them to form a band and try to make an album that can be adorned with that high of a praise. Sound like Tool for me sounda like a badge of honor. Can't wait for them to get back to Munich so I can buy that ticket again. Keep the Wheel turning! 🎉
Just heard you guys on pandora and your song "the change" has me totally hooked already.
You guys where a "happy surprise" in Cologne. Keep it up!
Sounds a lot like Tool back in the Undertow days. Not a bad thing. Great riffs! I want more!
Sounds kinda like "The Grudge"
Is this the same band that did my favorite Epic Doom album, "Icarus"?
They are amazing live! - saw them at HRH Prog North Wales November 2017
Absolutely Love this band. ❤️
the nasal vocal at 1:10 is sick
Reminds me of your Cassini days. Great to see some more prog rock James.
New fan here! great music guys!
i saw this left handed guy in a bar in Helsinki back in 2016, playing tool covers, by him self, in acoustic guitar. das was gut shiet
Wow, you're a lucky dude!!!!
Wish there were some lyrics for this somewhere
What a gem of a band this is! I sense Tool influence here. Which is great! Keep it up!
This is the first Tool inspired band that get it right. Hopefully, these guys can and branch out a little more. But this is a pretty good place to be. It does Fucking Rock! Maybe not the most original, but damn that's one rocking song.
Art-Metal \m/
what the fuck is happening @ 3:19

now me like ....a lot !!!
JUNE2019 PORTUGAL AAAHHH CANT WAIT
awesome !
Nice.
Great song! Saw ur Picture on the Summer breeze Ig account. Not disappointed \m/
Remember me when you're famous! Much love!!
Pure voodoo.
Just showed them in athens...pretty kickass band \m/
Are you touring with Soen?
Yes, they are! Saw them both last night... both bands are fucking amazing!
I'd hate to live in Tool's shadow. Chevelle is by far the most popular of the Tool-Alikes (Wheel, Lucid Planet, Vulkan, Karnivool, Rishloo, Soen).
They playing almost like tool, but are good for my earsss....
you need a tool to install a wheel, but that does not mean that the wheel cant be great without it!
Tulkaa jyväskylään! helvetin mainiota progee :)
Finland flies
I hear the grudge by tool
Bonustrack from 10000 days? Lol.. someone listened to Tool
Karnitoen?
Intro is a blatant Roquefort by karnivool rip LMAO
If you like this check out dead letter circus from Australia
0:50 Where the grudge like a crown, of negativity. Calculate what we will, or will not tolerate. Desperate to control, all and everything. Unable to forgive your scarlet letterman
So just because they're prog like Tool they are like Tool in everything else? It is called a genre ...
To this I prefer to hear the true version of this...TOOL.
Sounds like it could be a tool song
well I saw both tool and wheel this year. and I like wheel better. they sounded way better at live and more fun to be at the concert. just my experience/opinion.
Hahahahaha... Yeah right
I'm going to make an educated guess that your age falls somewhere in the 16-21 range.
This is more clever than Tool but the vibes are there.
I know this is going to upset some of you but I don't really care. You keep comparing them to TOOL, well guess what, I think these guys make better songs than TOOL.
And I mean that overall.
Overall, wheel is a much better rounded band and their songs are superior in terms of quality both in music composition and in singing.
Sure, Maynard may be a better writer but he isn't a better singer than James Lascelles from Wheel.
TOOL is only superior in terms of individual skills. Meaning the individual musicians are more skilled. For example, Danny Carey is of course a master of drumming, and it's very difficult to top him in particular. But when it comes to playing as a group in a band, that's where Wheel has the upper hand. They just work well together. And their sound is much more polished than TOOL's.
And that's it, I didn't want to say it but a lot of you keep comparing these 2 bands. Just be quiet and enjoy the music.
"That's not real, is it?"
@@baijley1
Huh?
@@MiguelAngel-ep9vt It's a quote from This is Spinal Tap.
The band should have picked a better name for the band. "Pressure" wouldn't be a bad choice.
They sound like the tool
Yes this song especially sounds a lot like Tool, But that's not a bad thing givin its been like 30 years since last Tool record!
Chris Mares 30 years.. hahaha sounds about accurate to be honest
Well...if you want to rip Tool off..Do it good..These guys did a good job...
This ain’t Tool influence or being part of a genre, it is them copying a style to a point of being unoriginal.
