2024 RX 350h. Dead battery. Door will not open even when unlocked with the skeleton key and by pulling the hidden lever as in this video. It just will NOT open.
So there is a mechanical door latch still in that handle? 😄 that’s so crazy, everyone screams save weight but yeah let’s add an electronic door hatch AND a mechanical door hatch. This is a mind boggling design.
Why would they even do this? It’s a terrible design choice especially because it doesn’t offer any aerodynamic benefit. If they are gonna make electronic door handles they may as well make them flush or at least more aerodynamic
I agree. If they are adding this complexity, it should offer atleast some benefit, like perhaps opening the door from the key/phone or like you said, making them flush for aero benefit.
That would make sense, except when it is cold like it was here, if you don't have the ability to pull on something to open the door and it is frozen, you won't get in.
Is this gonna help me get into my i20? No. Did I still watch it? Obviously

It should, are you sure you aren't locking the door instead of unlocking it?

Most of the time the manual entry will never be used. It is only used when the batter is dead.

My car battery died completely and the locks got jamed to a point that the key broke trying so hard. Eventually you'll need a locksmith
What model and year is your Lexus?
