I've been driving 57 years and owned many cars. Be smart. Whenever you get another car just wire a spare door key under the car through one of the frame holes. Better to get a little dirty than break something. ( most window mechanisms are steel gears. This won't work on those. And of course unless you're home you aren't going to have a plunger anyway.)
Call a wrecker company... they carry unlock kits... and take insurance! If you pay out of pocket the bill probably around 50 bucks! The plunger trick...100% will not work to put your window down... unless something is broken!
