- Housed at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the largest collection of begonias in North America-and one of the top in the world! I had the pleasure of taking a behind-the-scenes tour with one of the foremost begonia experts, Don Miller, (who also happens to have a begonia named after him!)
The working greenhouse and the collection greenhouse at Fort Worth are not open to the public except by scheduled tour. To schedule a tour, you can call the information desk at (817) 392-5510.

Yes I live here and didn’t know about the Begonias. Thanks for that video.
Hi Summer! You always make my days brighter! Great video 💓
so great to hear. Thanks for saying so.
This is an amazing visit, nice to see a fellow who loves what he is doing, glad you take us to these different green houses that we normally would not get to visit. It must be a little rough on you as I am sure you would like to take a few home with you, just one or two of course....
Wow! Had no idea there were that many types of begonias. Very cool!!
Wow...those begonias are awesome...love it

Love your channels! I am learning so much! And I really love begonias!!
Thank you for posting this, really enjoyed it!
I love your channel! Thanks for keeping up with the great quality and frequent episodes! I hope that one day you do an episode on the insects you keep or have kept. The field trips are fantastic! Thank you :)
glad I can keep putting these out myself. I enjoy doing them!
My first plant that I was able to keep alive that flowered was a begonia I got for Mother’s Day from my then 7 year old daughter. I had it for years but we ended up moving during a winter and it died because it was accidentally placed on the not enclosed trailer.
Wow, that was wonderful! I adore Begonias...that Red Fred was awesome!! I have some Beefsteak Begonias.
Thank you for sharing. I’m beginning to become a begonia fanatic.
Really love seeing this video on the lovely Begonia's
Very interesting, but was disappointed to not see the Rex begonias with wonderful reds and silver leaves and the escargots. Maybe another tour????
very beautiful begonias plants thanks you for sharing
Got to start collecting Begonias...just gorgeous collection.
Unusual varities of begonias. Thanks for showing
be cos of you @summer I regained my confidence in begonia again, the same rex jive which match ur kitchen! found it in the cheap section at local plant shop - what a find! darth vadarina is just WOW Much love from SG
Thank you very much two of you for wonderful video,I love it, Our world is Amazing ,a lot of beautiful things out there.
I am from Sri Lanka and I love plants. Enjoyed the video and the variety of begonias.
A treat to the eyes!!! Awsome episode.
Begonia's do well in the SF bay area. I have a few species and a few hybrids. Some of the more tropical need a porch, others seem to go dormant in winter and return in spring- Iron cross for example. Eyelash Begonias grow like weeds. I would collect more but I'm trying to avoid a container ranch with water here not being cheap.
I am love in it.I love begonias.
OMG... Mind-Blowing Tour! Who knew? TY
Wow beautiful collection of begonias

Kathy Gilbreath I just received my babies from Stevesleaves yesterday. I’m happy with my purchase and one of them is begonia ❤️.
this is amazing!!! I was wonder how the plants from other countries get transported into the US. Quarantine?
This was fascinating!
I'd just watched you interviewed at home by Kirsten Dirksen. I love her work. I had just discovered you a bout 2 or 3 months ago - so really enjoyed learning more of your back story!
This episode really resonates with me. I just love so many types of begonias. I love so many of them, especially the spotted ones, so know I'm going to have to buy a few, new ones one day. I love the Rex types, but didn't have good luck with them. I think the heat in my home in winter may have been a problem. Maybe I could've raised the humidity with pebble trays & frequent misting, and a humidifier. Do you think that they would've appreciated that kins of environment?
One day I hope to find another one, & learn the name of a beautiful begonia I"d had for many years, which had been my mom's. I'd started many new plants, so easily from cuttings & had no problems with it with insects or disease whatsoever. It was a strong, healthy, vigorous plant. I'd pinch it back to encourage branching, It had clusters of pink flowers, & red, kind of hairy stems. The leaves which tapered to a point, could become maybe 7" long, & 5" wide, & could easily hold itself erect with all those leaves, without ever getting floppy, & was at least 2 to 3 feet tall, & even wider, in a modest size 8" clay pot - heavy enough to weigh it down.
The front side of the leaves were a glossy darkish hunter green, & the back sides & stems were a gorgeous reddish- orange. It was even more gorgeous with the sun shining through it. I'd assumed it was a common plant , & would be easy to replace, as it was so attractive & easy to take care of. I lost it in a move maybe 35 years ago, & have never seen another one since. If anyone knows what it's called pleas tell me.
Stunning
Passionate, queen and the king.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love begonia plants. hope one day I can visit this place
Not a huge fan of begonias but this was a real treat to watch! Some of those were just spectacular.. Im really thinking about propagating one of my begonias now. Ive watched a few of your videos and I had no idea you could propagate it by the leaf. Now im facinated!

Thanks for this great video.
7:24 one of the most beautiful begonias I've ever seen.
Where could one find the round clear pots that those small plants are in?
That was absolutely fascinating!!!
Awesome
Beautiful...
Been waiting for this since you posted the black/pink begonia on insta!
it's definitely a beaut!
So with your tip on the mosquito bits, I bet the begonias would have a better chance against the Florida bugs. I'll give it a try this year.
This was amezing
Plz tell me about different variety of diffenbachia plants and how we propagate it
I thoroughly enjoyed this! I would like to know where you can buy the bubbles and terrariums.

Thanks your sharing..👍👍
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW AMAZINDGGGG
I love your videos
Thank you so much xxxxxxxxx
This would be a wonderful place to revisit and go into much more detail and make a nice big long long video! I have a collection of maybe around 30 angel wing begonias most are from Steve's leaves. I love angel wing begonias... They're tied for first place along with Hoya and orchids as my favorite then comes the elephant ear family alocasia and colocasia along with caladiums dinner also in that same family. I have hundreds of plants and some days it's just exhausting to do the watering like I just spent about 12 hours watering my orchids. But during that 12 hours I'm able to do a few other things. But they soak for about a half an hour and their nutrient solution and then I put them near the kitchen ceiling fan until they're completely dried off since I also do a foliar feeding well they soak and if I don't get them to dry off they can get a crown rot. Then I have to put them back in the bay window or take them to my bedroom where there under artificial light with LED light bulbs. It's funny the ones that are growing with LED lights seem to do better than the East window that's the bay window and natural light. I love your videos please go back and do a long long video with mr. Miller I think I have the begonia named after him
I wish he'd have shown a Pavonina! This collection is amazing though, that Darth Vader begonia is so cool.
