Don Miller is considered a god amongst the begonia world. The effort he’s given… & the things he’s done for the begonia scene… Genuinely , hybrids have been revolutionised because of him… And there’s many species & hybrids & cultivar lines in general that have been kept alive & cultivated BY HIM… There’s also a lot of important people within it , that he pays homage towards constantly.. as we saw him do on this video. And I think that’s why this man is so loved in the Begonia scene , he’s an extremely special soul. I’d pay good money , just to walk throughout that place with him & hear EVERYTHING he has to say on Begonia. Don miller & Byron Martin are my two begonia inspirations 🫡
I really wish this was posted last week so I could attend the sale but thanks to you I am discovering wonderful things I didn’t know about in DFW. Thank you My bad. I need to keep up with your videos you did post earlier Sorry
Wonderful tour guide, Mr. Miller and wonderful tour. Hope to see him again. Its an offer of info, to have before assertive shopping. At least, we can request plants by name, so that the shop owners can search, when they bring another load from the bigger markets. They usually take a photo and go look. Thanks for the Latin nomenclature as well. It might help, as the sellers and I sometimes only speak a bit of the language, we both understand. Thanks to Begonias for being so willing to try out a new look for us. They are good friends to have in the home, after a hard day's school or work, or both.
Challenger has been on my list, I knew it got big but I had no idea it got that big, how beautiful, it’s already cold here where I am so I will have to wait until summer comes back around 😊
Begonias are still fairly new to me. I do enjoy the Eyelash (Bowerae). Though I always lean more towards the miniatures. I believe from this episode. I am more a rhizomatus kinda guy as opposed to the canes. The crested look interesting to me. Really liked them! And OH 😲 that Kevin White was the stand out for me on this episode! Over on Flock Finger Lakes, I enjoyed the conversation involving the creative thought going into the build of the ground greenhouse. Both channels are my goto! ❤️
I recently got ds-fairytale and ds-dolce vita, and they are absolutely surreal. I'd love to see some more sophisticated and refined-looking begonias like the DS begonias.
B. Cathedral does bloom in in India., and also it can be grown by leaf . The interesting thing is it makes miniature leaves. There is a mention of this in the book Down to Earth with Begonias by Peter Sharp, and it's known as Fiji Islands.
O M G or Goddess ... Summer Such wonderful content and again, so happy to watch, learn and enjoy Don Miller at his best. Thank you for the video and splitting them into parts!!!! Yay for me! Wonderful wonderful wonderful Practically drooling over the sp - from those fab HUGE foliage Challenger, Bashful Bandit (LOVE) to totally fancy that black Fancy to that beautiful spiky Cachuma (wow whee!) PS if I could drool more .... when Summer call out Don Miller missing out on that dark huge B. Jovian .... wow
I know you were probably joking, BUT! I would totally buy a begonia and their creators card/flip book! I have given up on curbing my enthusiasm for the collecting hobby, so I am trying to learn as much as I can about what I have and any new acquisitions!
Cane styles are my favorite, so I wish they had been highlighted a bit more. I was able to pick up several from the plant sale, as well as the sale back in spring.
Hi! I visited this botanical garden when I lived in Texas and Don Miller was there! I watched this video and it was such a treat. I actually have a begonia plant that I would like help identifying. Do you know of anyone maybe I could email or send a message to get some help with this?
I'm one of your subscribers that likes to do the 'pause and look up terms, plant varieties etc' and then go back and continue the video. I've never heard of the term 'sport' as it pertains to plants. The Google universe brings up 'genetic mutation, anomaly' and then a really great word, 'variant'. What would be the equivalent in the animal or human world? I was a medic and medivac in the military so medical terms come to mind and the first would be the 'c' word, Cancer. But genetic mutation could also mean a more permanent non-malignant word association. Could you provide a perspective please?
Can anyone explain to me why people fixate on begonias? Not meant as a criticism but it seems a very specific fascination to some, for what seems a chaotic and busy genus
I love love love begonias but I'm a taaad bit disappointed with the gentleman presenting. He felt a tad bit underprepared, he was just showing anything wily nily with little to no facts. I think Summer gave more facts about the begonias.
Damn… you realise that’s Don Miller…. Quite possibly the most important person in the Begonia world today , and what you’ve just said is bollocks… She BARLEY spoke through this…😂 it was genuinely ALL DOM….😂😂😂😂😂 and if you think summer dropped more facts , then I don’t think you were actually awake & or paying any sort of attention. I’ve watched this video , along with ALL the other videos summer did with Dom , and it’s quite obvious she doesn’t know about begonia for the most part , unless it’s common place rex hybrids or just known species like the Maculata , Near enough every example Dom pulled he also gave facts on the names , place , characteristics or even mutations at times. Summer just says shit like “oh , why this”… or “oh , it looks edible…” Come on man….😂 as a studying biologist I’m hurt by your observation…😂 Anyway though this was also , the third or fourth video of the day they had filmed… and I do mean no offence (I’m just extremely expressive/no filter😂😅) , but again….in those videos it’s quite obvious summer has basically no idea about 98% of the things within the greenhouses , other than the things she’s owned or familiar with BECAUSE of don…..😂 The man has an incredible in-depth knowledge on begonia in general (hence why they hired him…) & is working on The recognised American international collection…. He definitely knows what he’s doing. And I think he was more than prepared… hence just doing 4 tours. It seems quite obvious to me by the way she has nothing to say quite a lot of the time & just laughs at most of the comments over the few videos , that it’s her thats underprepared…. And fucking HUGELY so. 😂 Don Miller is considered a god amongst the begonia world.
I love me my Don Miller. I get to see him once in a while at my part time job. He’s such a sweet man in person and sure doesn’t change in camera!
I just love watching this gentleman! He's so cool!

gotta love all these colors and shapes
I'm interested in landscape begonias for my yard so I really enjoyed this.
The Black Fancy is amazing!

Me: nature is wild
This guy: hold my cultivar
So fascinating, thank you!

So dissappointed I wasn't able to attend the plant sale this year due to the multitude of assignments being thrown my way, maybe next year!
Hi,awesome video.
Magnifique. Merci

Went to Logee's greenhouse today, Love that place but I only allow myself to spend cash there. Loved this video 🙂

Summer I understand you love to travel and I love your content but can we get a houseplant tour, I would to see your collection now.
do you fertilise them ?
anyone know why these plants are siting on upside down terracotta pots?
I could watch these videos for hours. I mean I do, but I could watch more.. haha
💚🌿💚🌿
I could never get my begonias to reach these proportions
💚💚
Is there a website I can order from

Their beauty is captivating.
Haven’t looked into the matter but I can assume if a mutation is caused by a virus than propagation through leaf cuttings might be hindered. 😮
Begonia Trading cards…. Please American Begonia Society, make that happen 😂
I want to name a begonia
