    Dear Mr. Fancy Plants, I am green (and bronze) with envy 🙂So many fun and interesting plants. I've had some nice ones over the years. Wish I could replace some of the ones my grandmother had back in the 1970s and early 80s before she passed away. Have watched vids by Summer Rayne Oaks touring the begonia society collection in Texas as well as Steve's Leaves.

      Thank you. Hopefully I’ll keep bringing more to the channel. Aren’t begonias just amazing? I subscribed to both of their channels as well and love watching them. I wish I had as big of a following as they did. Lol lol. Guess I better order some more plants.

    Wow, what a great video! I'm just getting into begonias (Ferox was my first purchase), and this video was so much fun! Every one of those plants was fantastic, and many I hadn't heard of yet. They all looked like they were in really great shape too. I really appreciate you having the bullet points with basic info about each one too. Would love to see a follow up video with a brief overview of which plants are still around and how they're doing, and maybe some info about what happened to any that didn't make it. Thanks! 👍🏼

      Howdy. Glad you liked the video. I'll do another one shortly from ShadyPlaces. Unfortunately though, I must be a lousy begonia grower, lol. I can grow most things, but these took some care. Most lasted 6 months to a year, but only about 25% of them made it. I'm devastated. And when they go, they go fast. Within 1-3 days, gone. Some went dormant and came back up, some just died. It was a mix to be honest, but I'm saving the ones I can. Darth Vader I was having amazing results with, but then one day, poof, gone in a few days after being HUGE. I hear that's common. So I hope you have a ton of luck! I ran out of space in terrariums, so now I'm going more for the ones I can grow in greenhouses. Did you get begonias mainly for inside or for outside? I'm not giving up though, as you can tell, cause I have another order to show. ha!

      @@FancyPlants bummer! I’m so sorry to hear that. 😢 It’s wild how quickly they would turn from good to bad on you too. I’m avoiding D Vader; too many horror stories. Currently I have Ferox, Soli Mutata (aka color changing), and a small Rex, all in a small terrarium with a small Peperomia ‘Little Fantasy.’ They’re seemingly doing well, with all three putting out new growth. But I’ve only had them two weeks, so who knows. 🤞🏼

      Well, I thought I knew what I was doing. It lived for about a year in an enclosed environment and was getting huge. But then suddenly within a week it was entirely dead and there was nothing I could do and I have no idea what happened. Seems to be a common Thing with this one.

    Hello , very beautiful plants
    Do you have any contact in Thailand to buy some rare begonia . Thanks

    • @FancyPlants
      @FancyPlants  Год назад +1

      Hi! Unfortunately I don’t, I just buy from local vendors. These were given to me as payment for a project I did. A lot of people into begonia sell on etsy so that’s a good place to start

    Hi. I can’t even grow begonia Gregii. Have had 2 and they do well in summer but as soon as winter comes and I move it inside it declines. Live in southern Ca inland empire where winters can get int high 20’s. Any suggestions. Have tried twice. Enjoy your videos very much

      Hi Sandy, glad you enjoy them! Yay. Well, I have a few that survive outside just fine but I got them from the Sherman Library and Gardens because they are varieties that are meant to handle our conditions. I'm in Los Angeles, and though we get down to 30 many nights, every degree below that makes a huge difference. I would say try and grow them inside. Even if you don't have a greenhouse, I have great success growing them in the very cups that these were shipped in. Look for the biggest clear drinking cup and grow them inside that... it really helps increase the humidity. Put them on a windowsill that just gets bright light or maybe early morning light but nothing hot. Those two things alone should help you immensely. Then you can grow things like Begonia amphioxus!

      @@FancyPlants thank you. My greenhouse is too hot. Will try the drinking cup method under flouresent lights
