ronaldo duran It's not that simple. No developers are optimizing there apps for those specs on the Nexus, so it just becomes numbers on a sheet no one takes advantage of.
Larry Faulkner The phone just came out, im sure now that its out developers will start optimising their apps for the phone but you cant expect that to happen before the phone is on market or only been on the market for a couple of weeks/days. Just like many apps are not optimised for the new iPhones, reports of crashes and all sorts because they are new phones that havent had apps optimised for it yet.
Nexus 6 win clearly. Nexus 6 have water resistant, Nexus 6 have active display, always voice listing even when you phone is locked, Nexus 6 can connect to any kind of device from Apple, Microsoft or Android , Nexus 6 Lollipop better than iOS 8, Nexus 6 better specifications and Nexus 6 cost only $650 while iPhone $950.
So opinion, personal preference, personal preference, personal preference , personal preference, So can iPhone, Opinion, Lack of knowledge or what general specs mean, and I agree that the iPhones price is bull shit. Interesting conclusion.
My main gripe is the fanboys of both sides that refuse to except or even understand a viewpoint. There are reasons for both platforms, and anyone who doesn't see the use for both is foolish or uninformed. personal preference because not everyone wants something always listening to them or an active display. And specs don't matter much unless its ram or storage.
***** He put it as a reason why it was better and i would label it a preference. That whole list was his list of the features that he thinks make the nexus better. -_-
im not like those guys who talk shit about other phones because I love the other. I've been with apple since the 4 and now up to the 6 plus and I love it, Apple never fails to deliver. Having said that, the nexus looks like a fantastic phone. I just prefer my 6 plus for personal preferences but both seem like very solid phones and everyone should love either choice they go with. Great video man
why are you people so but hurt about the cell phone wars. You're not making money on it. So if someone wants a different phone than you... Oh freaking well!
People, people... relax! They're phones by major corporations. Just because someone like Android or iOS, who cares?! People have different needs and are different. Just let it go and enjoy whichever OS you like. The end.
SnorkFlirt n yes ur premium phones bend and android r water proof and scratch proof many times shock proof too... even 200$ android has more things to offer than ur 700$ crap... wow u should enjoy ur landscape its so new for u.. and 1080p resolution screen wow thats new......2k is sooo crappy right hahah do u people sell ur common sense or did u just sold that to apple for 700$.. waste ur money n feel proud iDiots
I'll put it like this for you guys... iTunes is forcing a U2 album on you and Google Play just gave out the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack for free(still free until tomorrow)
***** That "lame" soundtrack is filled with CLASSIC music from Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5 to the Runaways and David Bowie. So not only did you hate on a great film you hated on timeless music. You're opinion is shit. Calls Guardians a lame kids movie while having a picture of Wolverine.
I purchased the iPhone 6+ and the nexus 6, used them both for a few weeks. I kept the nexus 6 and sold the iPhone. Why? I prefer android and the nexus paired with my Chromebook are a good match. Was one better than the other? Yes, the iPhone felt and looked more premium but that was it. Simply put, your a Android fan or a iOS fan and that's all. Thanks for the video review, nice and truly the most like devices to compare from both sides.
Have both. iPhone camera does much better, generally speaking. Both have features the other could use. I like the Apple ecosystem. I don't give the Nexus 6 any of my real ID information because I don't like Google's attitude on privacy. I love iOS and Android Lollipop is outstanding, especially without a bunch of carrier crap all over it. iPhone is definitely faster for heavy graphics/games. iPhone sound quality is better. iPhone is definitely showing its age in the looks department. Anyone who says one of these phones is clearly better than the other is a fanboy, pure and simple. If you took either from me, I'd miss it. I tend to use the iPhone more business and the Nexus for personal use.
MadCrainProductions Yes, I saw the video and there's nothing 2012 about the iPhone6. On the other hand, android devices have 2014 specs with 2012 performance ;-)
MadCrainProductions I was spot on. Coz with the hardware specs of the iPhone, it can still compete with android devices more powerful specs. Can you imagine if Apple went all out with the iPhone, putting a quad core processor with 3gb of RAM? So yes, android phones have 2015 specs with 2012 performance.
I kinda liked the nexus although both phones are too big for me! I always say that the best android phones are the nexus. However as an apple fan,I would choose the plus. Don't forget, that these two phones have different hardware. The plus has 2 cores and 1GB of ram and the nexus has double cores and 3 times the iPhone's ram. The problem with android phones is the software! Imagine an iphone with the specs of a nexus 6. That would be awesome. As Time goes by, we will see great things from apple and of course from the android community trying to keep up with the iPhones. I would like to see from you,a speed comparison video between these 2 phones.
Seriously, what more does the android do compared to iphone and requires 4 cores/8 cores and 3GBs of RAM? Tweaks apps games are the 60%-80% use of every phone. In most every logical and true speedtest(not the actual speedtest app) between an iphone 6/6+ and an android, you'll see that the iphone is barely faster than its competidor. Why is that? With less ram and cores. Explain this to me plz.
I don't get what you are saying about the Android's software. The new Android Lollipop is optimized to make the Nexus 6 a beast phone with a friendly and smooth interface.
I agree with that. As i said before, nexus is the only android phone i like-would buy if i had not tried an iphone. To understand me,i will explain this one more time. Read carefully! An android phone, like nexus or S5 has needs. What are those needs? Lots of RAM. Even with 2GBs of RAM it laggs and many times is not smooth, so it becomes unpleasant. Therefore, 3GB of RAM is a must. In addition to that, it also requires 4 or more cores at high GHZ! 2,7 for the current nexus it is. My hole point is this...The iPhone to operate smoothly requires only 2 cores and only 1 GB of RAM. Doesn't this intrigue your curiosity of how a phone,in this example i mean the iPhone, with less specs manages to be equal on speed and many times faster compared to other android phones? iPhone:dual core 1,4GHz and 1GB RAM. Nexus 6:quadcore 2,7GHz and 3GBs RAM. Yet,the iphone has half the specs of the nexus and has the same speed and smooth UI. The answer to all i am saying,is the software! Apple has done an amazing job managing the software so that it does not require many cores or GBs of RAM! Do you understand now?:)
Frankly, to me it is about the service behind the device and the people in the store when something goes wrong. It is equally important how much the monthly plan is, what they will do for you when you break the screen, and how good the actual connectivity is in any given area. Further, does the company treat you with respect as a customer. I have not had a good experience with apple which is why I am considering cancelling my order for the i6 and going with an N6. Thoughts?
If I would say "Nexus 6 is better than iPhone plus" All the apple-fans would argue and say im totally wrong. How would they know, if they haven't even touched an android device? "Omg, everybody has this overly expensive phone, so it must be awesome, right? It looks good too. And I don't like Android because it is too cheap and complicated, and I haven't even had an android device so I have no idea how it is like to have one, but I have to defend Apple anyway so I say Android is shit." (
Kenneth Martin Sales doesnt make something better, all those songs on the radio that suck sell a boat load but are they as good as some quality musicians? nope far from it but they mareket and shove it down your throat so much. If you base buying goods based on sales (sheep mentaility) i feel sorry for you. Also Apple doesnt outsell in every country, thats basically only in the US.
it doesnt mater iphone 6 plus is far better than the note 4 better looking, better performing, better camera, and the battery last 2 days under heavy usage
Kenneth Martin Not sure where you are getting your facts from because besides looks which is personal preference (to me the iPhone looks like something from 2007) the rest of what you said is incorrect and the evidence is all over the net.
I am an Apple fan, but here is what I have to say about Apple. Apple hardware > Any other phone's hardware. Android > any other OS. And that is why, I will switch to a Nexus 6. I'm bored of iOS, too boring, same simple design for years, where as Android is very customisable and appealing. Anyone agree?
what`s new in iphone 6 and 6+ since the first iphone same thing they took 7yrs to improve but nothing new, nothing innovative and as a coustomer we need to encourage and support the new world of technology, this time i will go with nexus6.
Eeryone wants something different, not the same. iPhones are just copycats of all Android devices. The Nexus 6 introduces us to turbo charging and it's the first device with Lollipop which looks like a great OS. Definite great improvement
I have scientifically measured the volume of Iphone 6s. it has 40% less volume on calls while using earphone or headphone. I am surprised that no one had paid attention to this flaws.
Well, call quality is HIGHLY dependent on the network. So if your carrier sucks, your call quality will suck. Not an easy way to test all carriers. My carrier could deliver awesome call quality and your carrier/area could be horrible. Thanks for watching. :)
***** Why not have both phones on the same carrier and use an older model as a base test and listen for background noise, cancellations and pitch/tone of voice with different speaking distance? have the nexus call the 6 plus and bam compare. if calling is an issue do a voice record with the phones mic so we can hear the absolute quality of the recorded sound without network/carrier errors. Thank for replying. :)
iPhone 6+ looks like a really old phone, it doesnt look very modern at all imo, really, it just looks like their older devices except with a bigger screen and those large bezels eww. And the back is ugly as hell. Performance wise its decent but imo the Nexus wins this in every department. Might have to upgrade to that phone or the Note 4, both beasts. Sorry Apple, i feel you failed this year.
I agree! The back is really bad! Nexus has a much better design. Also, Nexus 6 has better specifications. Nevertheless, iPhone 6 Plus is 2x the price (i6+ $ 1200, N6 costs $ 649)
Macesso I was an Android user for years. I can say without a doubt the iphone 6 plus is a much better device. Battery life is incredible. The Nexus 6 barely makes a day with normal use. Photos and video again is much better on the iphone 6 plus. Almost every review touches on these 2 issues and agrees. Unfortunately its always becomes a childish discussion on iphone hatters and Android haters. The facts speak for themselves. Also IOS 8 has a ton of features that Lollypop does not. Search in Google and you will see what I mean.
chascent666 Hello there sir, If you were an android user for years clearly you would not have these statements. I have an iphone6 and i must say that the battery needs to be charged twice a day. I had the plus for 1 week and i gave it back because the battery was worst on that device than the 6 despite the "claims" if you will. I have an Android device "LG G3" as a company phone and i have to say that MANY! features the plus has NOW! has been on android for about 2 years now. Now, Features that iphone has which Android does not? Hmph well the only thing that comes to mind would be cross chat between devices and able to pick up apps between devices seamlessly. Great, This can only be used if youre heavily involved in the apple eco system. Chances are many apple users have multiple apple devices. I for one, am not one of those. Other than that there is nothing you can tell me the iphone has that android does not. I can give you probably a page of features android has across ALL devices not including Cyanogen mods and other Roms which will not be used in comparison because they are not official roms. At least i dont consider it yet despite cyanogen being shipped with premium devices overseas. Oppo, Oneplus1 to name a couple. Siri being shazam well that great, Ok google has that. 3D maps that apple had well google has that. The "Hey siri" feature that needs to be plugged in for it to be useful well thats awesome. I use it all the time in the car but google has that and it does not need to be plugged in. paid apps for free google has that without jailbreak. (apps that are worth the money i pay for or i charge it to the company, If i can then why not? Dont judge me.) Torrents, downloading music straight to the device WITHOUT a subscription. Apple finally has NFC which they are restricting to apple pay. Google been had NFC for god knows how long and google wallet. Another thing i give apple credit for is how they released apple pay. They made contracts with credit card issuing companies which is something google should have done. They didnt but shit happens, No one is perfect. Apple nor Google is perfect. Apple devices are extremely simple to use and its usually a smartphone i would recommend to NEW smartphone users. But if you want something advanced and you really want to call it your own! then Android. This statement is the main reason i drive the car i have. So many people have Mercedes, Hondas, and other affordable vehicles that i hate being "grouped" with individuals of "thats a honda head" or "has a benz because of blah blah blah" With Android you can make an icon your wife's left nipple and another icon your girlfriends clit. Shit happens, I am not saying to go out and do that but you have the ABILITY to do it if you wanted to.
***** Do your homework, 13 mb means nothing. I repeat just about every review says the Iphone 6 camera takes better pictures. 3 gb ram means nothing, its the operating system that uses the ram that makes the difference. Did you see the video that has the Nexus 5 vs 6 loading apps next to each other? Almost every app loads faster on the 5, explain that one, less ram, less processing power. FYI I had owned a SGS3, SGS4, Nexus 4, HTC One, HTC M8 before going to the Iphone 6 this year so I am well versed with Android devices. I am the one pi$$ing my pants reading your baseless post. BTW the quick charge only works when the phone is completely shut off.
chascent666 I wouldnt say that 13mp and 3gb ram means nothing, it just depends how the user is using the device and photos. 13mp will be better for those who zoom and crop their pictures as the mp do count in this circumstance. And ram, you should know being a passed Android user that Android devices can do a little more then iPhones and need that extra ram for those more heavier applications and settings like real multi tasking and widgets to name a couple.
I've been with android for 5+ years and I've finally had it with android. I am ready to try something new. There is always android lag, google can't even follow their own guidelines, android update process is unbearable. Not this phone, but almost all other android phones have been locked down so you can't flash roms (which was the funniest part). I have no idea why google removed the ability to use your phone as a mass storage device. Now android phones barley work on windows and cant work at all on macs. You can't even make a full backup and restore your phone to exactly the way it was out of the box / if you don't have a unlocked boot loader. I'm at the point now, that I just want to have a phone that just works. And the iPhone has been doing that great for years. Sorry Google.
Most phones are unlocked? Carriers like att and Vrz locked the phones? You can easily flash roms on most android devices outside of those two carriers. And connecting to macs are pretty straightforward? What are you talking about
It's hilarious reading these messages and people arguing and getting mad over basically nothing. I have an iPhone right now but my next phone is the nexus 6. Don't get me wrong my phone works great I'm just tired of looking at page after page of just apps and not being able to customize it. The one thing I do like is Touch ID but that's not a deal breaker for me
This review was very redundant and kind of useless. Frustrating watching most early reviews tell us what we already know. Yes thank you for telling me how iOS works . I have only used iOS for 5 years. Yes thank you for telling me how the two are different operating systems which are personal preference. How about doing real world test and compressions and comparing each stock app. Or geek bench . These phones need two hands. Wow I didn't know that. Thumbs down
clearly iphone beats any android phone in the market and will continue to do so as ios apps run on objective c compared to java as in android. objective c is many times faster and efficient than java. also apples superior software and hardware integration with their own in house chips and hardware are far better than androids. thank u apple for such a beautiful device :) ))
I have two complaints with my Nexus 6. 1. When the brightness is all the way down my screen gets washed out. My whites are turned into a pinkish color which I don't like. 2. The front facing camera seems to make photos look more saturated. Not sure what's going on there. Overall I really do like the phone. It is not that big in my hand and it fits in my pocket! I do wish the battery life was like they said it'd be but I still get through the day. A good pick up if you have an upgrade available.
MacMike1000 Cheap components? Lol N6 looks FAR better than the IP6. Whoever designed the IP6 needs to be fired. And look at the specs of N6 vs IP6. N6 blows the IP6 away.
Saint Satan Honestly, you shouldn't really judge how a phone looks based off a video, unless you already held both then you may think what ever you want :) And honestly, every flagship phone out there is FAST, You may have 10x better specs but when it comes to everyday use and games each phone will perform the same. Personally, I think iOS is a little smoother without the occasional android stutter, but I haven't gotten to use Android L on my OnePlus yet.
I can't believe how almost brainwashed some apple fans are. Like sure I can understand that Apple pretty much started this smartphone revolution but damn you really don't think anyone can or has caught up by now. Apple is doing nothing new. They still make the sleekest looking phones and just as reliable, but google has given people the opportunity to make Android theirs in every way possible. Its like saying would you rather be told wat to do not have any individualism or be free. As for technology inside the phones I can't imagine apple coming up with any mind blowing features. Google on the other hand their job nowadays is to blow minds. The first time apple slips up on design people will leave it a
everything comes down to pure android vs iOS and what's your favorite but the nexus 6 is kind of ahead with wireless charging, front facing speakers, bigger and sharper screen
Lol guys...... ITS A FUCKING PHONE. Who the fuck cares what YOU want to buy. Fuck what everyone else says. This is just as bad as console wars and stupid shit like that. It all comes down to opinion and and personal preference. Fuck what the android people say and fuck what the apple people say. I bought the iphone 6 plus. You know why? Because i wanted too. I was leaning towards the side of android because the Note 4 was grabbing my attention but then apple announced the 6 plus and i just like apple because they are simple. Android wins in customization hands down no joke. Android wins in many categories and thats coming from a "stupid isheep" like myself. And honestly how many of you android users have actually personally USED and iphone 6 plus or iphone 6? And im not talking about going into the apple store and using the ones on the table im talking about using a friends or buying a contract free one or something like that. Yea they are fucking expensive but still i doubt any of you have actually used it (but if you actually have then i tip my hat to you because at least you tried). I like both. Android and Apple but at the end of the day apple is just where i go because it gives me the simplistic design. And honestly the iphone has always had the better camera EXCEPT when the Note 4 came out. The N4 now has the best camera hands down and how i know is because my mom owns it and its great. Very great. But at the end of the day guys who the hell cares what is better? Choose what you want and what you think will be a better fit to you :) And please stop insulting each other because remember............. Its..... Just...... A....... Phone :)
+Dom Esposito I got bored with the iPhone and chose the Nexus 6. Customization and Material Design kicks iOS out of the water. And oh, the AMOLED screen, Qi Wireless, Turbo charging, water-resistant and UHD video recording are all superb !
Ya, have fun with your lack of customization, new iOS releases that completely brick the phone, lousy 8MP rear and 1.2MP front camera, not water resistant like the Nexus 6, lousy specs from 2 years ago, and much more!
***** Yeah, the Apple is so innovative. With their new iPhone 6 and 6+, they have a new origami feature where you can bend your phone by just putting it in your pockets!
I am going to buy Nexus 6 only, but one thing i miss in that over Iphone 6 plus is the slo-mo feature, also I have a doubt that customisable "ok google" is there or not as in Moto X 2014?
Dom you make this blue Nexus look. I originally wanted the white version but I think Tmobile is going to only offer the midnight blue. I'm just worried about the finger prints on the back... How does it hold up for you?
I owned an iPhone 5s for six months. I couldn't get past how horrible of an experience it was to search for anything in iTunes. The search results were so jumbled, and in some cases irrelevant. Google Play is much more organized in that aspect. I also missed being able to download music, ringtones, etc. from other sources directly to the phone. I don't know if iOS 8 changes any of that. I also didn't like that the iPhone only had 1GB of RAM. With apps getting more resource hungry, 1GB just doesn't get it done.
I was going through the comments, and I wanna know the statistics of nexus and iphone. BTW whats the noise reduction in nexus 6? I had nexus 4 and 5 and when I record a video in a night club, I hear nothing but noise... I hope I get an answer for this question. Thank you
can you make a comparison with the note 4 or the iphone 6 but the two in maximum brilliance ?? i don't know yet what's the exactly quality of the nexus 6 screen
I'm a huge android can so my choice is obviously the Nexus 6. Even if they were both android devices, the N6 out classes the iPhone 6+ in every way. Literally every spec on the N6 is vastly superior to the iPhone. Not to mention the iPhone 6+ has huge bezels and a bending issue. In short the iPhone 6 Plus is barely catching up to 2013 as far as the specs go, whereas the Nexus 6 is already into 2015 spec territory.
I have to stick with my Apple Iphone, though people have brought up good points about both Android and IOS, Apple is a company that I'm use to. People often criticize the Iphone 6 and plus because it bends, and as they focus on this fact, they don't mention how it will bend due to prolonged force and of coarse, skinny jeans. (I mean, when is someone going to just try to bend their phone just because of no reason on a regular day, I know not me.) Anyways yeah, I would side with apple because of the fact that, even though it has its flaws, I'm very use to it, both how the software works and how it feels in my hands.
How would you guys rate these phones in terms of their longevity? Androids start lagging pretty soon, but I don't have an idea about Stock Androids. So which would be better in these terms?
Hmmm. I think it would have been good for him to mention the prices on the phones, because as for me that was the deciding factor in my choice. I've had an iPhone for the past two years and love the phone, but the price and also the yearning to switch things up have made me choose the Google Nexus 6 as my phone of choice for 2015.
Sorry man. Could be that I'm incorrect. I have no proof for my comment.. Can't find the source where I read that before. Anyways: Killer video.. as always!
Kim Weigand Thank you! Yeah, I can definitely confirm that it uses OIS during video. Certain negative OIS characteristics are visible with rapid movements during video recording. Sometimes gives off a wobble effect. Either way, still shoots stable video. Appreciate the support! :)
***** That, and what they call cinematic video stabilization that uses a gyro under the camera to calibrate it.. I could see from your sample video they weren't joking. And also, try to bog down the nexus. It's almost impossible to bog down an iPhone.
I know it's been almost 2 years for this video, but I bought the three OS smartphones out there in the market (iOS, Android and Windows Phone). I experienced them for a month, and the winner to me was (Android) So I will definitely go with the Nexus 6 !
I broke my Lumia 1520 and decided to get my first iPhone, the iPhone 6 Plus. Unfortunately it has been disappointing, so I am considering replacing it with the Nexus 6. Although playing with Samsung Note 4 in the store turned me off Android, I am hoping that Material Design on Nexus 6 will be less cluttered and busy. None of the stores in my area have the Nexus 6 and it is out of stock online, so I can't really see what it is like in person. Thanks for this comparison.
How about NEITHER device? WAY too expensive. I use to be under the impression that you "needed" the latest OS, latest hardware etc, to have a good experience, which means, you bought a new device every year, 6 months or whatever the cycle is. Well, not for me. When Google announced the retail price for this, I said NOPE, not going to waste 600-700 dollars for a PHONE. This past summer, I discovered a cheap alternative, with a 6.1" screen, JB4.3, a HUGE battery for 350 bucks, tax & shipping! Thinking it might not be any good, kept the receipt, box to send it back but let me tell you, was I surprised. I don't play games, so that isn't an issue. This thing is clear & bright, easy to read, no lag, runs everything fast and has a good camera. Why would I want to pay more than double for something that basically does the exact same thing? Because it doesn't get a software update? Does my device work, YES, does it run everything I use? Yes, then unless their is an app that requires KK or the lollipop, what difference does it make?
To be honest, the thing I like about the iPhone 6 is that they finally invented NFC payments. That means Android users should be able to use the NFC we've had for about four years to make payments or use public transport.
On the Android side, there's no point on getting a phone that size and only getting 5.5" of display and the same old iOS interface that can't be customised to suit your needs, and you will have them if you're buying a phablet. On the iPhone side, the cameras are always mega and the pictures look so much better than any Android phone. If you like iPhone and want a big version of it, you're finally sorted, albeit three years late. If you like Android, you're in a fix because there's a lot of good phablets to choose from besides this...
Great comparison between the two. There is only a clear winner if you prefer one software platform and ecosystem to the other based on previous phones you have owned. I am absolutely going with the Nexus 6 here because I am an Android diehard, but I know plenty of people that are equally pleased with their iPhones.
I totally agree with you when you say it depends on which ecosystem you are the most invested in. The iPhone 5 was my first smartphone, and I loved it. However, I soon became very interested in mobile technology and started seeing how many great android phones there were out there. After about a year with the iPhone, I had convinced myself that I was going to switch to an android phone when I had an upgrade available. I was seriously considering the HTC One (M8) - except the fact that the camera is not very compelling on that phone. But in two years, I have acquired a lot of app purchases and music via iTunes and the App Store. In addition to this, every member of my immediate family now has an iPhone. There are certain features - iMessage, family sharing of purchases through iTunes, etc. that compelled me to stick with iOS. In addition to this, a few of my main gripes with my old iPhone were screen size, resolution, and battery life. The iPhone 6 plus provided a serious upgrade in all three of these areas. So it made the choice to stick with iOS easy. But I'll admit it was the safe choice. I am very impressed with the Android platform and I love seeing a lot of the cool features and hardware that the various hardware manufacturers come up with. So while the iPhone 6 plus may not be better than the Nexus 6, to me it's on par. It is certainly a good phone - a capable device with stellar performance. Both phones are great, but the iPhone 6 Plus made sense for me.
I will never argue Android and Iphone if iphone price is lower like nexus 6. It's not like i want iphone 6 so much, dont get me wrong. It's funny to see that people like iphone so MUCH even it's overpriced :) 70% u bought iphone logo. 30% u bought the hardware.
After a week with Nexus 6 I couldn't be happier. I was worried the phone would be too big to carry in my pocket but it's not. The front facing stereo speakers are amazing, the device is very smooth and responsive. Screen is impressive with true blacks, and the screen-to-bezel ratio goes a long way. Battery is quite good, I can easily get 7 to 8 hours of screen time during a day, which is plenty for me. Wireless charging has always been a nice touch on all Nexus phones, though it's not something I couldn't live without. Haven't used camera enough to comment. Triggering voice search with OK Google even when the screen is off is really great, though sometimes it's a bit glitchy (I'm sure it will improve with updates). I won't compare Android and iOS, since it's pointless. If you have a strong opinion about mobile platforms you won't change your mind anyways, if you don't - you'll be just fine with either. Overall I highly recommend this device to anyone who's willing to give phablet a try.
Wow. Nice unbiased review. I'm going iphone 6 plus because that is what I am use to. I've had a iphone since the first one with no issues. The nexus caught my attention but I think i'll wait it out
A very neatly done head to toe comparison video. But I expected you'd dig further into build quality(longevity :-). However this video was very helpful!
I had the iPhone 6 plus and I've been with Apple since the iPhone 4 and I just got so bored with Apple and the only reason I wasn't able to switch was due to the fact that I couldn't get messages with apples iMessage problem. Now that they fixed it I switched over to the NEXUS 6!!! And I'm happy with it :)
I loved the video, but I still don't know which one to get :( . I've had the note 3 since it came out, and had the note 2 before it. My brother has the Nexus 6 and it looks fantastic, my sister just got the iPhone 6+ and it looks equally stunning... I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
God the nexus is beautiful, does the blue smudge alot? I want the blue but I've heard it does. Also is the screen too dim? Pretty much the only big thing I'm worried about is the screen.
Personally I prefer the Nexus 6. This is mainly because I started out with a Samsung phone and now I'm using Motorola. I do have an IPod that I used when I didn't have the best phone but now I would much rather be using my Moto G 4G
XboxHackingTricks Don't just cite megapixels because it doesn't tell the whole story. There are a few comparison videos out there, and the iphone 6+ and note 4 cameras both beat out the nexus 6's. lynksis12 You can definitely get some nice shots on nexus 6. Just don't expect to always get a perfect shot the first time like is possible on note 4 and iphone 6+. Low light isn't great on nexus 6 also.
lynksis12 The camera on the nexus 6 is really great actually, better than the iphone 6 in almost any category besides low light, where the iphone is a bit better.
I had an iPhone 4S for about a year. Then I bought the nexus 5, and I loved it. I like Apple and Android, but I prefer Android over Apple. I have a mac book pro and an iPad mini that I use every day, I like them both. I think it's a personal preference if Android or Apple is better. I don't have the nexus 6 or the iPhone 6 plus, but by the look of the specs I would chose the nexus 6.
Im an IT student and i "usually" navigate on the net. Problem is i think nexus 6 is really big. Dunno, coz i really grown up with ios devices. It's really obvious that nexus won the battle. I have 500 euro budget, which phone shall i get?
I own the Nexus 6 and am missing the iPhone's look and feel.. The Nexus 6 feels to me more like a toy, while the iPhone looks somehow "professional", which is more my thing. Would love to see this device (especially its outer apperance) with Android because im in Google's ecosystem and don't ever want to leave it, therefore I would never buy an Apple device.
Nexus 6 all the way! Google and android all the way! Android 5.0 is the smoothest os out right now. Whith the new added animations everywhere and colors the new material design for 5.0 is a boss!
Ordered a Nexus 6 for myself. Cloud White, 64 Gigabytes! So excited! I mean, come on. It has front facing stereo speakers, inky blacks on AMOLED, has some water resistance, and can charge wirelessly via Qi.... excuse me while I change my pants!
Nexus 6! Apple still has yet to impress me...for a lot of reasons. I'm buying a nexus 6 in the near future coming from a Note 3. I love the Note series phones but have decided to branch out and try something different. As far as customization goes and tweaking things on my phone, I think I'll really enjoy a stock android experience over Touchwiz and Samsung's added extras. I will miss my S pen and features but I plan on buying a stylus and just downloading similar apps that resemble S note and action memo. If I can adjust from an S pen to the alternatives, I will have a hard time going back to the note series unless I see some changes. I love having a big phone and now everything else just feels so tiny and unusable...I always ask how people can stand using such small devices. It's just nice viewing a larger screen for everything. It's just something you have to experience to appreciate.
Very nice comparison! Lots of thanks. I only wish you had mentioned the price difference too. Nexus 6 sells for $699 (64GB) compared to $849 for iPhone 6+ (64GB).
Great video, really enjoyed the comparison. I've seen and played with the new iphones (6, 6+) and both of them are really nice but I have invested into the android ecosystem and I have really enjoyed the new Motorolas (x), now having the option to have a nexus be a Motorola is a beautiful thing.
You don't even have to watch this to know the nexus 6 won by far. It's common sense...
hi
webkinzhamster571
You cant be serious? anyone with any sense can see the Nexus kills the iPhone 6/+
ronaldo duran It's not that simple. No developers are optimizing there apps for those specs on the Nexus, so it just becomes numbers on a sheet no one takes advantage of.
Larry Faulkner
The phone just came out, im sure now that its out developers will start optimising their apps for the phone but you cant expect that to happen before the phone is on market or only been on the market for a couple of weeks/days. Just like many apps are not optimised for the new iPhones, reports of crashes and all sorts because they are new phones that havent had apps optimised for it yet.
Of course it wins, the specs are far better than the 6 Plus. Cuz specs always determine the winner.
It really doesn't get any better quality than this. Fantastic work man.
thanks man!
@itweaks Your videos are great!
Lord Kronos How is what he stated personal preferences? And how does it make his point any less valid?
My main gripe is the fanboys of both sides that refuse to except or even understand a viewpoint. There are reasons for both platforms, and anyone who doesn't see the use for both is foolish or uninformed. personal preference because not everyone wants something always listening to them or an active display. And specs don't matter much unless its ram or storage.
Lord Kronos Nexus 6 being water resistant isn't an opinion. -_-
***** He put it as a reason why it was better and i would label it a preference.
Great video man
thanks!
+Malik Noob
+Severo Salguero Thanks, I've always wanted to know how to take iPhone 6 Plus. I have no fucking clue what that means but I am indeed curious.
Hope help!!!
why are you people so but hurt about the cell phone wars. You're not making money on it. So if someone wants a different phone than you... Oh freaking well!
Stupidity of people man , same goes with console "wars" . This is what the corporations want and these idiots buy it
People, people...
This debate is like watching paint dry. Pointless and a waste of time.
SnorkFlirt some one sound stupid and lacks IQ. You must been dropped as a baby.
I'll put it like this for you guys... iTunes is forcing a U2 album on you and Google Play just gave out the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack for free(still free until tomorrow)
Thanks lol don't even know that.
Din't*
You can choose to download it if you want so how is it " forcing "
***** That "lame" soundtrack is filled with CLASSIC music from Marvin Gaye and the Jackson 5 to the Runaways and David Bowie. So not only did you hate on a great film you hated on timeless music.
You're opinion is shit.
Calls Guardians a lame kids movie while having a picture of Wolverine.
"Even by adults" Same as Guardians of the Galaxy and literally everything else on this planet. Idiot.
Don't be shy. Just say it. iPhone is definitely better ;-)
Alex Lmao did you see the damn video? It feels like the iPhone was made in 2012.
MadCrainProductions Yes, I saw the video and there's nothing 2012 about the iPhone6. On the other hand, android devices have 2014 specs with 2012 performance ;-)
Alex Nice try, but not even close.
Iphones don't do as much therefore they don't need more cores....
Makis Ballas
you're forgetting something important, Iphone doesnt load as much pixels as android normally does, you cant run emulators and so on...
Nexus 3=Audi iphone 3=pontiac
Nexus 4=Porsche iphone 4=honda
Nexus 5=Lamborghini iphone 5=kia
Nexus 6=Bugatti iphone 6=GM
Iphone 6 = fiat 500*
I like the nexus much more but Bugatti is ugly as fuck
+Nitroszx Oké this is bad :)
+Jams 최 y not?
And I don't like Android because it is too cheap and complicated, and I haven't even had an android device so I have no idea how it is like to have one, but I have to defend Apple anyway so I say Android is shit." (
I think u 4got 2 describe android fanboys...
Thank you for not going insane the second someone mentions iOS vs Android.
Ikr
Says to a person who haven't tuched a iPhone
Ummm, read the comments again. Android fanboys are the angry and hateful ones. iOS users' are keeping their cool.
Im going for the Nexus 6 thank you im going to love this phone.
iPhone 6 plus is obviously a better phone in my opinion the best phone of 2014
You and other Apple fans are basically the only ones saying that unfortunately
but Apple phones outsells Nexus, Samsung and all other android phones so its a ton of apple fan bots more than any other Android phone
Kenneth Martin
Sales doesnt make something better, all those songs on the radio that suck sell a boat load but are they as good as some quality musicians? nope far from it but they mareket and shove it down your throat so much.
Kenneth Martin
Not sure where you are getting your facts from because besides looks which is personal preference (to me the iPhone looks like something from 2007) the rest of what you said is incorrect and the evidence is all over the net.
Just got my nexus 6 and I love it !
I love to see videos like this. Undepended review while not showing which one you like more.
what`s new in iphone 6 and 6+ since the first iphone same thing they took 7yrs to improve but nothing new, nothing innovative and as a coustomer we need to encourage and support the new world of technology, this time i will go with nexus6.
Eeryone wants something different, not the same. iPhones are just copycats of all Android devices. The Nexus 6 introduces us to turbo charging and it's the first device with Lollipop which looks like a great OS. Definite great improvement
HAHA, what do you want, a flying phone that can teleport you anywhere? They have innovated, but your blind ass can't see it.
HydrogenIsOne behave no vulgarity, come on don`t be biased, don`t be either brand slave be neutral and use both and enjoy the most. take it easy.
Just no, you are wrong
Phani Kumar I'm not being biased, the person can't seem to comprehend that innovation is not what he thinks it is.
I have scientifically measured the volume of Iphone 6s. it has 40% less volume on calls while using earphone or headphone. I am surprised that no one had paid attention to this flaws.
Hmmm I thought this was a Phone Comparison!? No mention of the call Qualities between the PHONES!
Damn this video was great. The production value alone was outstanding! Such a good job man.
Those bezels on the iPhone are so ugly, nexus 6 is overall a better looking and better performing device AND is $200 cheaper
iPhone 6+ looks like a really old phone, it doesnt look very modern at all imo, really, it just looks like their older devices except with a bigger screen and those large bezels eww.
BTW the quick charge only works when the phone is completely shut off.
chascent666
I wouldnt say that 13mp and 3gb ram means nothing, it just depends how the user is using the device and photos. 13mp will be better for those who zoom and crop their pictures as the mp do count in this circumstance. And ram, you should know being a passed Android user that Android devices can do a little more then iPhones and need that extra ram for those more heavier applications and settings like real multi tasking and widgets to name a couple.
Thanks for the video! Can i ask you which tempered glass you have used on iphone 6 plus? Sorry for bad english.
Smart guy you are ;-)
Alex spell you can ;=)
Android doesn't lag anymore, I have a nexus 6 and my brother has a note 4 and I almost never get any lag issues
QueenGoesYT Of course I can spell :-)
Thumbs down
Yes, most reviews like this one just read off the spec sheets and add little value. Annoying
Just discovered your channel, great review... Very unbiased which is hard to come by these days. Subscribed!
clearly iphone beats any android phone in the market and will continue to do so as ios apps run on objective c compared to java as in android. objective c is many times faster and efficient than java. also apples superior software and hardware integration with their own in house chips and hardware are far better than androids. thank u apple for such a beautiful device :) ))
Dude do you know what your talking about? Android apps are not run in java
Not even remotely true, i'd even argue that object c has higher chance of memory leaks.
Your right all the way
I have two complaints with my Nexus 6.
Overall both are good but the clear winner overall is the iPhone 6 Plus.
Idk what fact your looking at but the fact I see it that the iPhone 6 and its shite camera belong in the dollar store nexus 6 is a real phone
Look at the tear down of the Nexus 6, 70% cheap plastic components.
MacMike1000 Cheap components? Lol N6 looks FAR better than the IP6. Whoever designed the IP6 needs to be fired. And look at the specs of N6 vs IP6. N6 blows the IP6 away.
Saint Satan Honestly, you shouldn't really judge how a phone looks based off a video, unless you already held both then you may think what ever you want :)
And honestly, every flagship phone out there is FAST, You may have 10x better specs but when it comes to everyday use and games each phone will perform the same. Personally, I think iOS is a little smoother without the occasional android stutter, but I haven't gotten to use Android L on my OnePlus yet.
MacMike1000 BTW it's harder to make plastic that get aluminum
I know ones an iLok and ones an ignition key, but what is the other stick in your hub? Just a usb drives? Just curious. Love the videos
nexus 6
Great comparison! What kind of headphones were on the desk?
I can't believe how almost brainwashed some apple fans are. Like sure I can understand that Apple pretty much started this smartphone revolution but damn you really don't think anyone can or has caught up by now. Apple is doing nothing new. They still make the sleekest looking phones and just as reliable, but google has given people the opportunity to make Android theirs in every way possible. Its like saying would you rather be told wat to do not have any individualism or be free. As for technology inside the phones I can't imagine apple coming up with any mind blowing features. Google on the other hand their job nowadays is to blow minds. The first time apple slips up on design people will leave it a
You.... You need a cookie
everything comes down to pure android vs iOS and what's your favorite but the nexus 6 is kind of ahead with wireless charging, front facing speakers, bigger and sharper screen
Both look perfectly :-)
Dom ty for the awesome video. i wanted to ask, does nexus 5x is better than nexus 6 in terms of camera, speed.????? plz reply.
+Vinayak Mohata no, nexus 6p is the better one. They use the same camera tho. But the nexus 6p has a faster processor.
and is overall the best
Lmfao Iphone 6 is the equivlent of the nexus 2
I LMAO when I compare their sales figures ;-)
Alex You win comments.
hey Dom can you tell me which program you are using to make animations like the one at 0:55
I believe he uses Adobe After Effects. :)
Jared Davidson ok thx!
Its..... Just...... A....... Phone :)
+Dom Esposito
I got bored with the iPhone and chose the Nexus 6. Customization and Material Design kicks iOS out of the water. And oh, the AMOLED screen, Qi Wireless, Turbo charging, water-resistant and UHD video recording are all superb !
iPhone 6+ is a king. Sorry nexus
Ya, have fun with your lack of customization, new iOS releases that completely brick the phone, lousy 8MP rear and 1.2MP front camera, not water resistant like the Nexus 6, lousy specs from 2 years ago, and much more!
AnimeFan not to mention it bends :D
***** Yeah, the Apple is so innovative. With their new iPhone 6 and 6+, they have a new origami feature where you can bend your phone by just putting it in your pockets!
AnimeFan Don't forget the downward-firing, tinny speaker.
***** Oh how I can't forget that. Nexus 6's dual front-facing speakers alone just wash the iPhone 6+ out.
I am going to buy Nexus 6 only, but one thing i miss in that over Iphone 6 plus is the slo-mo feature, also I have a doubt that customisable "ok google" is there or not as in Moto X 2014?
Great video, really high quality presentation and mix. Love everything. Subscribed for more!
05:54 - Um, yeah that's called bloatware for a reason. Not having that crap is a huge plus and a major reason why people like Nexus.
Dom you make this blue Nexus look. I originally wanted the white version but I think Tmobile is going to only offer the midnight blue. I'm just worried about the finger prints on the back... How does it hold up for you?
I meant you make this Nexus look good.
What screen protector is on your iPhone? I found the anti-glare one that Apple Store stocks is sooooooooo awful..
Is that a glass screen protector on the iPhone 6 Plus? What brand is that?
Stock android wont lag for shit.
Stock Android won't lag. I have a year and a half old nexus 7 2013 and it doesn't lag at all on Android 5.1
if you're talking about Samsung then yes! but with stock there's Zero lag.
Hmmm. I think it would have been good for him to mention the prices on the phones, because as for me that was the deciding factor in my choice. I've had an iPhone for the past two years and love the phone, but the price and also the yearning to switch things up have made me choose the Google Nexus 6 as my phone of choice for 2015.
The iPhone 6 Plus makes use of OIS only when taking photos. No OIS in video mode.. uses the same software stabilization as the normal iPhone 6.
That is incorrect.
As far as I know for video, both devices use digital stabilization. Got to check that again.
Great video Dom!!! Keep up the great work
I know it's been almost 2 years for this video, but I bought the three OS smartphones out there in the market (iOS, Android and Windows Phone).
I experienced them for a month, and the winner to me was (Android)
So I will definitely go with the Nexus 6 !
I WAS PLANNING ON GETTING THE iPhone 6, but decided on the Nexus 6! I love everything about it!!!
thank you for this comparison, im on backorder and wanted to see how they stack up against one another
I broke my Lumia 1520 and decided to get my first iPhone, the iPhone 6 Plus.
Yes, then unless their is an app that requires KK or the lollipop, what difference does it make?
then why are you here seeing this video? and care to comment too...
Here is my favorite youtube channel for alll review of gadgets!!!thanks DOM
It's funny to see that people like iphone so MUCH even it's overpriced :)
70% u bought iphone logo.
Great review. You have earned a subscriber. Much respect.
good review as usual but for the love of all things good, please take the protective cover off of the display of the iPhone 6 Plus. Thx!
Great video man....!!!!
Enjoyed it
Does anyone know what he uses to edit the video? Especially the part where the nexus 6 specs come up
God the nexus is beautiful, does the blue smudge alot? I want the blue but I've heard it does.
Also is the screen too dim? Pretty much the only big thing I'm worried about is the screen.
just buy both and have the best of both worlds. no need to bash each other.... thumbs up if you agree....
does the Nexus 6 have slow motion video recording option?
Personally I prefer the Nexus 6. This is mainly because I started out with a Samsung phone and now I'm using Motorola. I do have an IPod that I used when I didn't have the best phone but now I would much rather be using my Moto G 4G
nothing like iphone 6 plus all the tech reviewers are saying that nexus 6 camera isnt good in low light and the battery life isnt that good ...
I currently have the iPhone 6 and I'm tempted to trade it in for a Nexus 6... Android OS > iOS. iPhone hardware > Nexus hardware
Nexus hardware > iphone hardware. And yes trade it in.
XboxHackingTricks you think so? the camera is the only thing that's really holding me back..
The nexus 6 has a 13 MP camera, and can record in 4K. While the 6 plus only has an 8 MP camera, and records in 1080
XboxHackingTricks Don't just cite megapixels because it doesn't tell the whole story.
I would like to choose Nexus 6, the only issue here is I have zero idea about when it's available in China.
Choose*
Im an IT student and i "usually" navigate on the net. Problem is i think nexus 6 is really big. Dunno, coz i really grown up with ios devices. It's really obvious that nexus won the battle. I have 500 euro budget, which phone shall i get?
Nexus 6
Dude big screens are amazing
Especially amoled and 2k
I own the Nexus 6 and am missing the iPhone's look and feel.. The Nexus 6 feels to me more like a toy, while the iPhone looks somehow "professional", which is more my thing. Would love to see this device (especially its outer apperance) with Android because im in Google's ecosystem and don't ever want to leave it, therefore I would never buy an Apple device.
Ha I know it's been a few months, but you wouldn't have happened to heard of the htc a9, have you?
Nexus 6 all the way! Google and android all the way! Android 5.0 is the smoothest os out right now. Whith the new added animations everywhere and colors the new material design for 5.0 is a boss!
I was doubting between note 4 and iPhone 6+, I ended up choosing the latter and to be honest I don't regret it
Great choice. You have saved yourself a lot of troubles ;-)
The photos used for comparing the camera of iphone 6 and nexus 6 looks the same as shown in the comparison video of nexus 5 vs nexus 6. Ironic!
I like videos like this. There's no bias at all.
What screen protector is that on the 6 plus?
Great Comparison! both of the devices are on the top of the line of their platform.
Which one would you get if you could only gave one phone? That's the question I need answered.
Whats the song played at the end of the video?
Very nice comparison! Lots of thanks.
I only wish you had mentioned the price difference too. Nexus 6 sells for $699 (64GB) compared to $849 for iPhone 6+ (64GB).
Great video, really enjoyed the comparison. I've seen and played with the new iphones (6, 6+) and both of them are really nice but I have invested into the android ecosystem and I have really enjoyed the new Motorolas (x), now having the option to have a nexus be a Motorola is a beautiful thing.
