    Mute groups, subgroups, and dca's would be my top one of the feature requests by far but the others i can see value in as well.
    A few other features, i wish the CQ series had
    1) Low Pass Filters on channels without losing a band of parametric eq.
    2) Option to change the slope of the hipass and low pass filters
    3) Blend knob on the compressors
    4) Key Filter for the gates to have better control on what will open the gates.
    * Even better but related, adding option to set gate to a mode that would be similar to the famous 5054 primary source enhancer or waves primary source expander. Could be so useful tool to have onboard for better reducing unwanted bleed in some channels.
    5) Dynamic EQ: Even if it was just a few bands that could be inserted on some channels, on subgroups, and outputs(at least main LR mix). While at it, include blend knob on it as well. Option to side chain to another input channel wouldn't be bad idea either but even just simple few bands of dynamic eq available would be such helpful tool to have available for some things in certain situations.

    Oh yeah, forgot what about more options on the pickoff points for the aux mixes besides just pre and post fader? Unless the pre fader option is already pre channel dynamics/compression pickup point, adding option for that seems like an essential option to have.
    I don't want any channel compression applies to channels (that may be helpful for the FOH mix) coming through monitor mixes like wedges or iems as will mess with singers sense of their own dynamics, risk leading to straining or developing bad vocal habits and in wedges reduce gain before feedback available. Only compression ever use for monitor mixes we be at output level on such auxes in form of peak limiter set where it would should almost never engage unless was drastic unexpected jump in level where that limiter would provide protection for hearing and or the speakers.
    Of course for auxes used for other things for example, front fill mix, separate live stream mix i can see where may want to be able to have post dynamics pickup point and depending on application pre or post fader may be what would be used.

    I agree with all these feature suggestions. But the DCA/mute groups is the most important. I have a couple things assigned to the soft keys, but it would be nice to be able just to hit a couple mute buttons and be done with it.

    One feature that would be really awesome is the ability to record macros and later recall them . They could be stored on the SD card so you can move them between different mixers and they should be assignable to the soft buttons … e.g. the mute group feature could be implemented by these, my need is to mute/unmute a particular send to aux on a button press for intercom

    Hello Lucas. Sorry for my English. My question is can I send master Left & Right into the out 1-2-3-4-5-6 just to have master left & right into each ear monitor ? Thank you so much.

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      Unfortunately no. There is no dedicated fader to send the master L+R mix to each of the outputs (1-2-3-4-5-6). There may be a workaround for this (Using the CQ4You app) but by default, it's not possible.

    Great Requests! I have a Question: Would you happen to know the Maximum SD card storage capacity that the CQ-18 can handle? What's the maximum storage I can use with SD card and USB Flash drive? In the video, the one scene showed "20GB Available", but I don't know the original capacity ... Thanks in Advance! #Salute Buying mines this week!!!

      I'm using a 32GB SD Card with my mixer... when I first formatted it, it showed me I had 6-8 hours of recording time... not sure about the flash drive through... hope you get your mixer soon!

    Hey how you doing,
    So I am in need of a new mixer ASAP, I play in a 3 piece band (2 Acoustic guitars, Elec bass, and 2 mics) occasionally drums. I am interested in both Allen&Heath QU16 AND CQ18T seeing as the qu is a bit dated,
    What do you recommend me investing in, in 2024!? Thanks for your time!

    • @crosslylucas
      @crosslylucas  3 месяца назад

      Hi, I would say it's a question of probability. From what you are describing, I'd say the CQ series mixers would suit your band best.
      With the QU series mixers, being able to connect to stage boxes is a huge advantage but it's probably unnecessary for your use case.
      Thanks for your comment and good luck 👍

      @@crosslylucas Thanks Lucas you the man :)! You have no idea how tedious it’s been to get a reply on these models.
      Final question, is there a mute button on the CQ to mute all lines/channels, or do you have to individually mute each line?

    • @crosslylucas
      @crosslylucas  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, this is possible to some extent through muting the MainLR.
      1. Go to the cofig page and select one of the soft keys.
      2. Set the Function to be 'MUTE' then select Channel to MainLR
      This will mute the mixer's main left and right XLR outputs similar to muting all the channels simultaneously. I have set mine so that soft key 3 is MainLR mute and Soft key 2 is Multitrack record. Hope this is useful.

    Why bother to let you playback at all if you can’t record along with it?

    • @crosslylucas
      @crosslylucas  3 месяца назад +2

      I think the playback ability is useful for live backing tracks...

    • @SoulfulJim1
      @SoulfulJim1 3 месяца назад

      @@crosslylucas I don’t understand, specifically, what you would use the playback for if you can’t record anything while you’re doing it.

    • @crosslylucas
      @crosslylucas  3 месяца назад +2

      @@SoulfulJim1 I've used the playback feature a lot while using this mixer. When rehearsing, I have the ability to play backing tracks of members who cannot make it to rehearsals. I also use it to "Virtual Mix" before a live show... this is when I playback a multitrack live set through the PA system to get a basic mix going before a show. This saves a lot of guess work and helps eliminate frequency buildup in the venue.
      With that being said, I 100% get where you're coming from. I think this was an missed opportunity that could have been implemented as part of the multitrack recording feature set.

    • @SoulfulJim1
      @SoulfulJim1 3 месяца назад

      @@crosslylucas Thanks for responding. I have 1 more thing I’d like to clarify, if you don’t mind.
      You said you use playback for playing a band members’ part when they aren’t able to attend a rehearsal. When you’re doing that, are you able to record the band also? My understanding is that you can’t (without a DAW), which is exactly what I would like this mixer to be able to do.

    • @crosslylucas
      @crosslylucas  3 месяца назад +1

      @@SoulfulJim1 Yes you are correct. The only way to multitrack the rehearsal is by using a DAW.
