- This is a video of how I learned to wheelie. I am not advising anyone to do this and am not responsible for anything or anyone attempting what I have done. Ride at your own risk! First wheelie is at 4:38
Blurs plate first time around. Second time wide open for all to see.
Cause the second shot was too blurry to make it out.
Warrior Spirit it was readable
😂😂😂
I was thinking the same thing.. :D
Paul Hawkins lmao word
I like the "start small" approach and the different psychological stages you go through.
From start small to eff it
I just bought a street triple R after owning a Honda grom as my first bike, looped the grom maybe 3 times from learning the wheelie and let me say after my first try on the triple I was already getting the front pointed up at the moon, grom made it so much easier to comfortably do clutch ups cause I remember when I got on a mt09 before owning the grom and that bike almost killing me now I can actually wheelie comfortably it’s amazing
This is the best explanation anyone has given. My previous attempts were exactly as you described it at the 4:00 mark. I had hit that psychological barrier and wasn’t giving it enough gas. I wondered if if were RPMs or something else. You’ve described this the exact way someone like me needed it to be described.
You’re a natural teacher dude. Thanks.
Thank you bro it means a lot!
BRO NO ONE ELSE REALLY WANTS YOU TO GET IT. THERE JUST FLEXING A GATE KEEPING. BRO THANKS. LIKE YOU TALK ME THROUGH MIND SET. JUST SAYING YOUR GOING TO GET SCARED AT THESE POINTS HIT HOME. AND FELT BETTER KNW YOU TOOK 4 MONTHS. IT GIVING ME TIME TO STOP RUSHING TO GET. IVE WATCHED ALOT OF VIDEOS. THIS IS THE MOST HELP FULL. IT CAUSE YOU REALLY WANT TO SHOW.. OTHERS COULD HAVE SHOWED THESE POINTS I WAS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND. BUT THEY GATEKEEPING 4 REAL
@sportrider89 why don't you make visa anymore brio?
@@danm1026 Idk just dont ride as much. Got my bike stolen 2 years ago then found it and havent been riding as much as I used to. Also life and idk what to post...Im really into golf now. lol
I don’t have a bike but this was super entertaining while I’m taking a shit. Great video
Ok then
Erik Harton 😂😂😂
I do have a bike but I’m also taking a shit rn
Lol
I’m taking a shit too lmao
So I watched a lot of these videos before and would try to wheelie once in a while, but never managed it, but after I watched this video, I pretty much went out and was able to wheelie straight away, I had the biggest smile on my face, thanks dude, :D
I couldn't help but laugh when you unblurred your license plate before you walked past 😂
Everything he said was spot on! Let me add, that you should try and do the same thing every time, over and over again and listen to the bike how it sounds. It’s all practice
Well said. Listen to the revs. 3rd gear wheelies all day on the R6.
@@just82much72 damn you can get your r6 up in 3rd👋👋👋👋👋didnt think that was possible.
Idk y I’m watching this with no bike 🤣
Did you get a bike yet?
@@stizzystiles4358 I came to ask the same thing 😂
😢😢😢😢😢😔😔😔😔
😂😢
😂😂 lol
Absolutely brilliant, thank you! You describe every emotion I'm going through at the moment, trying to pop that front wheel up on my Daytona 675. Excellent video, thank you
You are so welcome
I definitely like the way you explain clutch up way better than anyone else that I've seen on RUclips. And I've been looking for a while. You just seem super relatable. Thank you

This definitely the best wheelie video on RUclips. I’m trying to learn wheelies it’s great that a video from 4 years can help me today
Rev matching without downshifting
This comment actually helped me a lot lol. Thanks!
This makes so much sense! Thank you!
@@celiafodor9252 yeah it's like rev matching without down shifting but you don't let off the throttle after you release the clutch if that make sense
Nay Say yes that does! I have a liter bike and am worried about looping it.
@@celiafodor9252 me too and hurting the bike. I dont care about me, just the bike.
Great guide.. with an understanding of what beginners are going to feel .. thanks
My first wheelie was on accident. Some neighbors were cheering for me, yelling “Kawasaki!” So i revved for them, but let go of the clutch while the rpms were still high. Popped up for a second and was in a “did that just happen?” State for a minute. Now I brought myself here for better tips when I actually want to learn 😂
Lol I’ve done a few accidental wheelies
Lol
FYI, you didn't blur the plate long enough. I can read it
Great video, simple, basic, easy to understand. And thank you for mentioning the tire temps. This is often overlooked, but super important.

Absolutely the best video about how to wheelie. Greetings from Poland my friend. Stay safe. 💪
Dude- Best all-around wheelie instruction I've seen online or elsewhere. (Period) 😎🤙🏼 Congrats on that and thank you- it's much appreciated!
Thanks thanks. Had to do it....too many bad explanations.
Best tutorial so far, going to try this all week. 2 inches is the goal.
First RUclipsr to explain it’s just a quick clutch in and rev and pop it…. Everyone explains drop a gear rev clutch and shift at the same time. So thank you
Great video! I think this is a great representation on how to do a wheelie with a street bike. Can’t wait to hit balance point. Cheers!
Very helpful man, thanks alot for the very slow-mo, descriptive and personal version, unlike so many tutorials on youtube!!
I bought a wheelie bar to learn, Gave me all the confidence I needed knowing I can’t loop the bike at all
Best vid Ive seen! Excellent throttle control explanation. Described in detail my problems and what I need to correct. Thank you!
Thanks. Means alot!
Anyone had the same feeling while practicing wheelie, like you are so so high with the front wheel so you close your throttle and after your friend telling that, you were only like 7-8 inches from the ground
Just the tutorial I was looking for. Nice job on describing how to “sneak up” on a wheelie.
The details in this video are spot on! Great Video!!!!
The rolling wheelie from walking pace (in the town centre!) - part of a misspent youth I don't regret. Thanks Yamaha for the memories.
First vid to explain the clutch up procedure!
Liked and subbed!
Keeping it real! thank you for speaking the way you did brotha appreciate it🤝🏽👌🏽
I'm so glad I stumbled onto this video! I’ve been attempting to lift that wheel off the ground for the past seven days without success. Actually, I was only succeeding once every ten attempts and was unable to pinpoint my error. Considering I ride a Gixxer 250, I had simply believed it was the bike.
When I push the throttle and almost simultaneously and quickly release the clutch, the bike jumps practically every time, as I figured after viewing your video.
I’m grateful, brother! 🙂
Thanks. Glad I could help.
Phenomenal video! Great hands on instructions!
As soon i saw this video and i just hit the subscribe button man he explained it so well ❤️
you are doing GOD's work here...
many thanks!
I didnt realize until recently that this is how to properly do a wheelie. I started doing them by just twisting the throttle all the way at low speed. It got me used to the feeling of gettin the front wheel up. Now I'm practicing with the clutch.
Every once in a while I just hear mclovin explaining his license except it’s how to wheelie
Flawless video
Man I wanna do it but I’m also scared, loved your explanation, I’m gonna try all this when I finally try it!
I've had my '09 GSX-R 600 for 6 weeks and 2,700 miles. I've watched every Wheelie Tutorial out there, but yours is by far the most comprehensive. Thank you! I'm only doing hops and barely getting the forks fully extended, but I try to practice on every warm day I have. I think I dump the clutch too fast and the bike just doesn't go anywhere. I'll get it soon enough!
NHH223 yeah just make sure u give it more gas (before) u dump the clutch. Thats what really makes it get up. Giving it ⛽️ gas literally. once everybody learns their own bike and learns what rpm range (your) bike gets up then after that it’ll get Easier and easier. I was riding a Kawasaki ninja 600 and after i started focusing on what rpms MY bike got up to then it got super easy. I learned in only like a week and after that it got easier and easier.... but I literally practiced everyday just about for 3months straight. Now I believe with no doubt i can literally do wheelies on (any) bike because it becomes second nature after u learn the best rpm ranges that a bike comes up on.
Try deflating your rear tire a bit. It helps with wheelies.
@@mariajuanasativa3379 No, it helps with balance point. Deflating your tire will actually make it harder to get up but easier to balance.
I’m going to practice in the cold too when I get my bike. I’m going to master a 300cc bike in no time.
This is the realist Explanation anyone gave. Great video bro!
Thanks man. My bike got stolen and I just fixed it up. So should come out with more videos soon. Subscribe plz
The starting small approach is going to save so many people injuries and heart ache. Work your way up gents, don't show off and get into trouble!
This is such a big point. I started popping baby wheelies and progressively started adding more power and getting it higher and higher. This process took me about a month before I started to feel comfortable with the front tire being off the ground.
Love how you covered allot of the mistakes. Great!
It’s never too late to say “ thanks man “ :)
This was the best wheelie tutorial video I’ve come across
Glad it helped!
@@sportrider89 it did, I finally got them down thank you
Much better than the 5 other you tubers videos I’ve watch
That intersection gets worked! Lol
Bro I love this vid n I hate to say it but this the n***a version of it but ur translation was better than any video I’ve watched hope ur safe and ur 12 o’clock by now but this was it for me thanks bra best wheelie vid out
Naw I stopped doing them...got a ticket and dont do them much anymore.
Best beginner tutorial on RUclips!
Really great and impressive tutorial video, thank you very much bro
Amazing explanation. Thank you man
Great wheelie video. I’ll rewatch. Doing a couple lunges and calling it a day isn’t working anymore. Gonna go a lot harder now.
Interesting , informative and entertaining. Thank you , young man.
Thankds and Subscribe!
Nice explanation bro. Reminds me when I so scared to wheelie.
Awesome video feeling informed and ready to try it out
I did this around the neighborhood when I got my first bike it took about a hour and I had it mastered, I have since sold that bike and got a higher CC bike with a extension on it which isn't my style but its keeping me out of trouble because I keep my front tire in the air so this extension has kept me grounded lol no pun intended.
Great instructions bro, but i messed up and did exactly what you said not to do. I was doing the little 1-2 foot wheelies and got anxious to get it up higher then ended it up sending the bike flying 😂. Tore up the whole rear end but luckily i had sliders. Oh well trial and error. I'll get it, appreciate your video bro. I dont think iv seen a better wheelie instruction video on here. 🤙
You know when you walk back around your bike I can read your plate clearly lol
This is the perfect way to explain it this helped me
Awesome video
Very Well explained
Thank you bro 👍🏼
Great video.will start practicing soon.
Hi there Sportrider 89,cool wheelies bro, great teachings ,I've subscribed & take care friend🙂🙂🙂
Great video had trouble with the wheel spinning and you answer my question thank you👏🏽
Glad it helped!
It’s day 3 for me today that I try to learn wheelies. First 2 days I tried doing power wheelies just to get to know the feeling and prepare myself. On day 1 I already managed to lift it off the ground just a little bit. On day 2 it lifted even more. Today I tried clutch wheelies, and one time it went unexpectedly high (in reality just about 10cm) and I was scared but very happy! I am going to continue learning! Keep it slow, brothers! You doing want to ruin yourselves or your bikes! Cheers for the lesson! Very much relatable!
soooo hows your wheelie progress going now!?!?!!?!?
@@gsxrguy I continued training for about 2 weeks and then I almost looped! After that I desided to continue learning after I get a training bike and some better gear, because by that time I was learning on a rented MT-07, so I didn't want to wreck it. I was doing all that while in Thailand for 3 months. This summer I plan to continue with better conditions and equipment!
It's funny cause I rode dirtbikes for about 6 years prior to ever riding a street bike and when I finally hopped on a streetbike I could wheelie with ease. Any dirt riders agree?
I'm about to find out about to buy my first one a 636
I raced dirtbikes for years. I hopped on my gsxr600 and i can get the wheel up but cant hold it like i could on my two strokes.
I have a Crf250l and ride a lot off-road. I do some wheelies but the bike just isn’t great at wheelies because of the power to weight.
I rode supermotos/enduros (ktm 125 exc, ktm 300 exc) for 3 years and wheelied like a boss with them. Scraped the fender all the time and even scraped my backpack cause the fender was worn out. But now I've bought myself a Honda cb 600f hornet and can't wheelie it at all. It's a scary bike IMO to wheelie. I keep slipping out.
@@matiaskarjalainen7968 I wheelied my 125cc 4t pit bike a bit. Power wheelies for days with that short wheelbase. Now I'm learning wheelies on a sports bike with a similiar engine. Easier on juiced up mopeds imo.
thank you! Really good explanations!
great vid, certainly helpful
very instructive. real word lessons. not some perfect lab word like other youtubers.
Thank you for teach Basic Wheelie :)
You can burn out using high revs and clutch slip, you can pop the front tire up with clutch grab and torque pull
I can do a wheelie now thanks to you!!
Great!!! Glad I could help
"Eeuh car" 😂 me too bro
I know what I'm doing tomorrow, cheers bro!
Nate John hey Nate just checking on u to see if ur still alive. How’d it go?
@@bilalabdulla5032 Yeah man I'm alive, doing little wheelies haha
Great video man. 🤟
Appreciate it!
Did my best wheelie by accident. First pull on my new gsxr didn’t know it had a quick shifter. Grabbed the clutch at like 14k rpm and it popped up when I hit the next gear lmao. Tried doing a small clutch up after and was scared to.
Yo bro say “ Saw bruh 😎 “ in ya videos and you’ll officially be a surfer haha 😛 your voice is unique and understandable compared to most tutorials!! Thanks 🙏
Thanks I tried teaching but kids are the worst.
One day they will haha 😂 great 👍 content!!
Looks like you coming down really hard in your wheelies
Love this guy
You can also break your head light stay 😅 lesson learned the hard way. Easy fix though
Experienced the, "Fuck It", today. Thankfully I managed to hold the throttle long enough not to slam down.
My wife's gonna hate you 😆. Thanks for the help
Thanks, I've been doing those little lunges without lifting the front.
Don't forget to subscribe
So basically the movement is like downshifting but without shifting any gears. You rev and pull in the clutch and then let the clutch out in one one movement. If you added clicking down a gear, you just downshifted (maybe a bit aggressively but still downshifting).
Yeah pretty much
Thts a great way to put it...i think i just learned how to wheelie
Yeah but you also do not let go off the throttle, you actually increase the power
“I don’t even have gear” squid confirmed
Cant wait for my test next month think I'll buy a 250 crosser to get used to road riding before I get a super bike maybe one day wheelie for now sensible
Brings back memories
I go with 2nd gear wheelies on the 600... Great video.👍
On 600? 2nd? How? Mph?
Thanks, at least you don't think your Mr.Rossi. Be safe my friend
This is the first “how to wheelie” video I actually agree with or like at all! This is the first video I would even/ever recommend.
I used to tell people if you have to ask maybe you are not ready. but this has changed my mind. you cover a lot of really good points. as long as the “squid” watches the entire video first they have a good foundation. Nice video and thanks for the tips and concern for newer riders.
Thanks a bunch!
We can still see your plate at 1:04...great vid tho...like one of the best I've actually seen.
Great video ..
Nice video helped me out alot bro...hey you should post a video on how to corner...someone mentioned to me know your apex?? Can you talk about that?
Subscribe and I'll try to make a new video.
To wheelie is not only about lifting the front tire. In my opinion you can just properly control a wheelie WITH THE USE OF THE BACK BRAKE, so you can get higher than balance point and do wheelies just endless because behind balance point you will become slower not like him faster but without the use of the brake you will just crash.
Bro you covered this really good thx
Glad you liked it!
Gonna start to wheelie next year
Bro very Informative my tire has slipped before and it scared tf out of me llf
Good video man
What gear are you in with this video?? 1st or 2nd? Since it’s slow 15mph pops.
1st gear
Damn. Will try it tomorrow. Thanks

I try to learn to do wheelies for long time, i just can't manage. I can do power slides when i am exit from a corner, i really love the feeling, i can do stoppie but trying do to wheelies and bring up the front of the bike scares me as hell. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I wheelie using the engine power and my arms, your way is brutal on the clutch
That's called a power wheelie. Yeah I can do that too.. but why do the work when I can let my engine do it? Also they're less consistent.
The clutch it literally doing it's job during this manoeuvre.. you could say the same thing about changing gears using the clutch. Even not using the clutch wears the clutch. Also clutch plates are cheaper then gearboxes
@OxtheGreat yeah that gear shifting, take that with a grain of salt. I did my research. I ride.
thank you awesome video
