Credit to Sam and the band for being humble enough to recognize the last record didn’t connect as well and approach things different this time around. Love all the singles from the new one so far.
has nothing to do with being humble. I'm sure as a musician he tried to make every record as good as he can. fans liking it less doesn't mean it's bad. if you hate and distance yourself from your past work, that's something else. but he is not doing that here.
I would be more interested in hearing them revisit The Here And Now and realize that the album wasn't a misstep and is still a pretty awesome record. :)
This is a very self-centered comment. They're free to make music for themselves, not to feed the consumer whatever the almighty consumer wants. Let artists be artists. Let artists be free.
Royal beggars is one of my favorite architects songs. Probably my favorite off of holy hell. I can’t wait to see Architects live, I’ll be seeing them at Inkarceration 2025. Im excited
Lost Forever // Lost Together will always be my favourite Architects album, it's the first one I heard and had the biggest impact on me, it's still a banger!
Great interview, Sam is a boss. Love the chat about laughing in the studio. I laugh all the time listening to these new tunes at the absolute unbridled fury and heaviness in moments!! love it, carry on legends
Been an Architects fan since Hollow Crown, seen them more times than I can count and I can honestly say Blackhole might be one of my favourites they've ever done. So excited!!!
Great interview, shout out to Sam and the band. Tbh, I love Symptoms and the latest singles more than the rest of the discography, it is so fresh and to the point. Hope this era continues for a while 🙏🏻
I don't know why Symptons got so much hate. I really like this album, the guitars are so creative and the vocals are so catchy. But anyway, I'm very happy and looking forward to the new songs and this "return" to the "classic" stuff, while keeping some of the good stuff from the last 2 albums.
11:42 i went to a Hollow Crown show when they were supported by Norma Jean, Lower than Atlantis and Devil Sold his Soul. Absolutely amazing show. That album is the bible!
Awesome video Nik, Sam seems like such a cool guy, hope they come around (Cleveland!) as I'd love to see them live. Have had the new album on pre-order, can't wait.
I somehow never got into Architects or even really knew much about them until Seeing Red. That one won me over & all these new songs are fantastic. Guess I've been missing out.
Look, Classic Symptoms was not my cup of tea, but we wouldn't have gotten Burn Down My House or Be Very Afraid without it Excited for the new record lads
Even tho I don't listen to Archiects that much, they amaze me as a band and Sam especially - I even got a tattoo that also says "have hope" because it really speaks to me, and they all are very inspiring figures! Thanks for the interview! 🙏
Misery Signals mentioned 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 the gods of metalcore were mentioned towards the end of the interview, that's to show that even the actual biggest bands of the genre remembers that OG metalcore band is wild, check out Controller if you can, top tier metalcore.
I actually enjoyed The Here and Now. While it’s not perfect or as memorable as the albums that came after it (up until HH), I found it quite enjoyable. Personally, I liked it more than Classic Symptoms, but music is always subjective. The new material, though? Sounds absolutely smashing!
I love The Here And Now. Was my first Architects album. The Blues is on point. All Our Gods is number 1 but I feel like the new album may finally knock it off the top spot 🤘
30:04 I watch reaction channels from people who listened to rap their whole life and then they start on like all the Nu-Metal bands and I can’t help but bring myself back to that time when first hearing it and feeling that nostalgic aura of being just being in a great time period in the late 90’s early 00’s. Love it.
Another option for Architects album release day - dress up as an Architect. Building plan/blue print (with Blegh drawn out with measurements), yellow hardhat, high vis vest, some pencils and a pair of glasses. Idk that's what I assume an architect looks like lmao
Sam seems like such a cool down to earth guy. Architects is definitely one of the best of all time, This new album is going to be a career defining album if the singles are a precursor of whats to come. 3 of my top 5 favorites all with new albums this year with Architects, Bury Tomorrow, and Spiritbox!!!!!!
11:39 I was one of those 70 for sure lmao. Saw them on tour in Dallas, Tx with Bring Me and Oh, Sleeper and my best friend at the time was given the mic from Sam during the end of Follow The Water. And now I'm realizing "holy shit, that was like 17 years ago" lmao.
Guys, I think Austin is stuck in a Groundhog day endless loop inside a screen. Black Hole is absolutely insane as a music video and a song. Architects killed it on this one
I loved the last record. I'm definetly one of the guys sceaming to a catchy song live, even if it was released the day before the show. For me it's more the new stuff. It's not bad by all means, but doesn't catch me the same way, When we were young or doomscrolling did. Went a little bit in the Linkin Park style, as they are touring with them right now.
Linkin Park definitely led me down the path to loving metal. And I’ve found that a lot of Architects music scratches a similar itch as LP for me. Polaris, as well.
It's weird that when sam sings he doesn't have an accent at-all but when he speaks he haa the heaviest British accent that remainds to us all about the fact that he is actually British. 😂😂😂
You think this is a heavy accent? You should hear Dear Diary by Bring Me. One of the lyrics has Oli screaming at a dog to stfu, in the thickest Yorkshire accent you could get in music 😂
Sam if you're reading this I think the plane crash noise you were looking for is actually the 'Jericho Siren' used on the Stuka dive bomber? I could be completely wrong but as far as I'm aware plane crashes don't have hugely distinctive noises apart from *normal engine noise* --> *Explosion*. The Jericho Siren is the iconic plane diving at you threat noise, I definitely imagine it being sick during a breakdown anyway
To be honest, I actually liked classic symptoms of a broken spirit. Some people might look at it like architects hail to king album, or Metallica’s black album. And I love both of those albums. You can definitely hear a bunch of influences of bands that influenced them. Maybe that’s why I like it, because I grew up listening to a lot of those bands.
I think the style change would have actually done well if Architects made a point to release the lighter style of music as a special project instead of freaking everyone out thinking one of their favorite bands was gone entirely. The other stuff wasn't "bad" necessarily, it was just bad in regard to totally replacing the music we loved.
We are bleghsed today fun metal things peeps
I'm absolutely bleghlighted to watch this!
perfect timing for my architects hyperfixation thank you mr nocturnal
Real
It's so cool to see Nick interviewing so many legends from the metalcore / deathcore scene
What an excellent chat. Sam seems so happy! Wish nothing but the best for him and the boys in Architects and I can't wait for this new album!

I am a random on the internet but I think their last album is one of my favorite of theirs
their last album was my second fav album they've done
Its nice to see nik nocturnal interviewing these small bands like architects and killswitch engage :3
Small bands?
@@joshhill5002 we have a little thing called sarcasm 'round here 😅
😂

Funnily enough, “The here and now” was the first I’d heard of Architects, and was the album that got me into them
Same. It's a great album. I guess the band weren't living up to their potential so don't think highly of it
Same! I was listening to it today. Still absolutely love it tbh
THE YEARS I PUT INTO THIS
Honestly one of my favorites by them
we are the ones, you left out in the rain, come back tomorrow, and we'll be here again
Lost Forever // Lost Together will always be my favourite Architects album, it's the first one I heard and had the biggest impact on me, it's still a banger!

Some people don't like change, they want the same album repeatedly
@@garypasquill2355 and they keep wondering why the genre die over the time.
it was boring, a lot of samey songs. should've been an ep, would've made a bigger impact. burn down my house is one of their best

I still liked Classic Symptoms quite a lot, but a lot of the critiques make sense. It was worth it to experiment with something different.
the energy and happiness from sam made me smile the whole hour !

Can't wait to see both LP and Architects live in Düsseldorf in July!
Damn i wanted too, didn't get a ticket.
This is the most candid "interview" ive ever seen and i love it
Love that band! One of the best chats I’ve ever seen with Sam.
What a great episode! Would love to see Sam back on after you hear the album to discuss the goodness.
Cool down to earth interview ❤
Classic Symptoms is my favorite album of all time! Absolutley phenomenal, especially Spit The Bone!
This was absolutely amazing to watch!! Was good to hear from the legend himself! 🤘🤘
I feel so bleghsed 🙏
And to think i saw this legend 10years ago in a small stage and played 10years later on the mainstage
I fkin love Sam and Architects and this was one of the best interviews ever
I love the classic symptoms album - artists need to experiment! That being said, the new one is AMAZING
As someone with BLEGH tattooed on my arm it is the most profound and thoughtful line I could ever relate to ❤
lovely chat

the fact that he speaks a lot about Bring me, made me joy, I still don't know why
great episode! Sam is effortlessly hilarious, love that

Love Sam and Architects ❤ Thanks Nick🙏
great interview
Chilling with Sam and the boys in a Class 2 hurricane 🎉
I think sam genuinely enjoyed this it didn't seem like he wanted the conversation to end
I’m here in 2025 having only listened to Architects for first time in 2024 when they were supporting Metallica in Madrid. Loving their stuff!
Wish Nik asked him more questions about the new album or the songwriting instead of talking about metalcore memes
It's fun metal things baby

Huge time for metalcore right now 🥹🥹🥹

What the hell, I think Classic Symptoms is a banger album!
Bilmuri (American motor sports style) and architects on a record would be brilliant
Sam Carter does great interviews. I didn't know who Architects were until "Blackhole"
My guy, you are going to have an exceptional time going through their catalogue
a war type music video would be sick
Seeing red came out Dec 4 2023, that show in Paris "a week later" was on Jan 24 2024
Now if we can just get Parkway Drive to do a "return to their roots" style album 🤞
Sams my favorite dude fr
I wish Sam answered "are you doing a spastic mathcore song?" 👀
2025 is new peak for Architects!!!
I see Nik Podcast...I know I'll be laughing for an hour straight
Did Sam just name drop The End? Damn that brings back memories
Sam is the best! ❤
Sam is a legend! He seems so sweet, funny and cool - but then he just fucking rips and is so aware of himself. Architects ==== legendary band
