#NikNocturnal #Trivium #Metal
the guy is so busy and organized that made me question my existence 🤣 so much discipline 👏
I know what you mean
He's half Asian! Bastards! LOL
I think he's just built that way tbh. I recall him saying on a stream way back something along the lines of "I have to be super busy. When I do all of the things, it's the minimum requirement for me to not lose my mind".
Man, I appreciate Matt's honesty with him talking about him navigating adhd, ocd, and anxiety. I got diagnosed recently with adhd and bipolar as an adult in my thirties, and hearing how he embraced it and became determined to turn it into a super power is really inspiring. He's absolutely sincere and it's refreshing!
Matt Heafy new linkin park vocalist confirmed
Oh i wish
aged like milk
Woulda been better than who they actually went with 🤷♂️
@@embracehorizons SSHHHH!! The galactic confederacy is listening!
Oh I wish
Matt seems such a genuinely sound dude. Looking forward to seeing them live again (with BMFV).
Seeing them with Bullet in Birmingham on the 31st January 😁
it's amazing that Matt is bringing back the Ascendency scream, the chef's kiss would be bringing back the Ascendency singing live
You need to go see it Liv as they are playing it in full live
Yeah riffs and solos like Ascendency would be cool too
@@sho3688 really!? Cuz playing that album in full would get me to go to a trivium show again.
@@DamageInc86 touring with BFMV. Trivium is playing Ascendancy in full and BFMV is playing The Poison in full
@@dragonblazer96 right now!?
My 12yo son was born with ears that stick out like open car doors. He loves metal so I'm glad he has a guitar earo to look up to.
Matt's one of the coolest people in the industry and his outlook on the adversity Trivium's gone through is genuinely inspiring.
Didn’t know you moved to Orlando !! That’s my hometown! I met Matt recently at a local hangout after having drinks.. super chill and awesome, maybe I’ll see you around now haha
I wish I could talk to Matt about anxiety because I hear a lot of myself in the way he describes his anxiety.
Same!
@@rebekahcarter8120 maybe I’ll start a podcast and work it up until I get to the point where I can interview him haha.
My anxiety has been bad a for a while now. I hope you are doing well Rebekah!
Im so happy to see them with Bullet next year. What a great dude
always cool to see matt on again gotta get corey in the rest of the guys some point.
Matt is such an awesome person besides just being super talented. 🤘
In my head I was like Matt say departure or declaration over and over and he said both then I accidentally woke my house up with the yes I just yelled
When they do North America, I'm definitely going.
There supporting bullet for my Valentine next year in the uk so glad I going next year
@@lem-koopz5468It's co-headline I believe
Tickets are on presale now.
Damn so cool to know that one of Matt's favourite tracks off Ascendancy is also my favourite. Departure just has a different vibe altogether. Whole album is an actual masterpiece. No skips, just let it play. Still listen to it regularly to this day. Thanks Nik for getting Matt on here again and thanks Matt for being a great role model to young musicians and people in general. Will always look up to him.
Great interview. Heafy really brought the Beefy to “Fall Forever.”
My heart is so full after watching this. Makes me super grateful for guys like Matt & Nick in the scene.
I was literally just listening to Until The World Goes Cold 0:01
I’ve been very critical of Matt’s vocals over the last 10 years or so. I know why he has been being cautious with his voice, but it almost felt “phoned-in”. Glad to see he’s finally able to get more aggressive with his delivery again.
Once I borrowed my dads pickup truck to help my friend moving. He has sirius xm, so I tuned in on liquid metal, thinking it's the only radio channel which I would love the music. Turns out I didn't know any songs and my non-metalhead friend headbanged for the entire time because Matt played anime metal theme songs. It was a nice change of pace.
Love this Trivium was the 1st band I hopped in the mosh pit to, core memory 🤣
Damn, the bullying stuff takes me back. I’m a millennial, same age as Matt…. We were all such dicks to each other, like in general. So much “pulling yourself up by dragging others down” energy. I’m so glad that’s just rightly seen as unacceptable, juvenile, shit behaviour these days.
Right!?! We were so full of hate and ill will for anything that we didn't like back then. It was just so stupid.
Its insane how slept on newer trivium is.
20:44 Thats M. Shadows, really lol
I was at the SF show at Slim's in 05 with COB and Amon Amarth that Matt talks about. That crowd was fucking rough on them, but they still kicked ass! I tried to give em as much love as I could, but yea that crowd was rough. Look at em now.
I never knew he liked the times he came here to Buenos Aires that much! I was there in 2012 but sadly couldn't make the last one. I hope Trivium comes back soon I'll be the first to buy the ticket
Amazing interview. One could learn so much from Matt, dude is an amazing human being. Respect from 🇬🇪
Ascendancy was my jam in high school. I worked so hard to learn that riff around 2 min mark lol
Can't wait to see you guys in Dusseldorf 🤘🤘
Fingers crossed for an Edmonton announcement! Trivium usually comes here, so hopefully that tour does.
Sweet interview.
Love Matt
Matt does a good job DJing on Sirius
19:32 Hi, Matt! 👋
I am going to 4/5 dates on the UK tour, its going to be INSANE
@matthewkheafy if you are seeing this please bring this tour in Greece!!
Just went and listen the song! Bad ass! Matt long time fan! I have always loved your vocals and lyrics! Big influence on my own writing and playing! I mean ember to enferno! From the beginning! I’ve loved trivium!
Hope theres a wichita, kansas, usa or kansas city, or oklahoma city/tulsa stop!
3:06 At my kickboxing club, there's always Metal ☺
I did not expect Matt Heafy to shout out Rodrigo Y Gabriella but I'm all for it
Also, stoked for upcoming Australia shows announcement
I see two beautiful souls!
Just ordered my ticket for the tour with bfmv! Exited af
Going in Feb next year in the uk
Is the Poisoned Ascendancy tour coming to NA!? I would love to see you guys in Oregon
next year, yes. They just haven't announced any NA dates yet.
Is there some wonky label stuff that keeps the vocals off of Fall Forever on Spotify?
Release your guys song on Spotify please
No more Europe shows? Gotta come to sweden
3:16 😂
nik is so shocked with matt's holy shit routine..lol
To Matt's take on terrible music in martial arts gyms it is generally true. Although I did go to a kempo school and they often just played metal. It was way more enjoyable to throw kicks at somebody when I'm being screamed at 😂
Queenkin Park!
when 2 nice guys talk each other "you're the best" "noooo you're the best!" ad infinitum lol.
nah seriously this is amazing though
Ok, time to get busy
BRAZIL MENTIONED 😁
mogged by hermanos 😭
xD funny that the only bone I ever fractured was a finger and it was from training BJJ
Rashomon is great btw❤
22:14 In Flames?
Jiu jitsu and guitar are not natural friends unfortunately. And what he says about the music taste in jiu jitsu school is absolutely true.
Minirock
Heard some of the rabbit hole “tangents” that Matt goes down when he’s very passionate about something and instantly knew he had ADHD.
Ju Jitsu is not for me… I prefer Muay Thai
Nik, to this fvcking day, still looking malnourished, come up from the goddamned basement and help me split wood.
22:00 I feel like it's just a massive generational difference. Gen X and older always go yeah, i've got mine, so fuck you, and they pull the rug. Meanwhile, a lot of younger people just hype each other up. Like why wouldn't you? There are so many absolutely unbelievably new artists, and that just never would have happened without the support
I saw a quote somewhere. Just because you win doesn’t mean I always lose. I took it as someone’s success should be celebrated and it doesn’t mean I’m any less successful
GREATEST 2 SHOWS OF THEIR LIFES ARE BUENOS AIRES? I WAKE UP, ANOTHER CORONACIÓN DE GLORIA
Oh boy, they definitely gotta play in Orlando for this. I’ll be there if they do. It’ll be the 7th time since 2006.
I nearly jumped when this interview came up on my recommended hahaha Matt is such a genuine, humble, and accomplished artist, though the most telling thing is his attention to the supporting and up-and-coming groups; a true mentor and leader-by-example in every respect. The chemistry here is immaculate and I’m thrilled about the mind-blowing collab. The best interviews aren’t nearly long enough and huge thanks to Nik and Matt for taking the time out to just chat and share
It's funny that Matt mentioned people not paying attention to them because I remember going to a gig in Melbourne back in 2010 (best thing my mates ex ever did for him) and this guy in front of us went mental for "Forgiven Rival" and "As I Lay Dying", he then sat down for "Trivium", then the crowd sang the entire Sinner album as it played over the speakers and when "Disturbed" came out that guy that went mental earlier grabbed his shit and left
3:10 it should be Sepultura🥋
Vengeance Falls is a 10/10 record. Top 3 Trivium record easily.
Yeah I don’t understand the hate for it, very dark theme with the lyrics it’s just such a badass album especially with the bonus tracks included, the only albums I like more than VF are Ascendency and Shogun
@@robmart116 Heafy's voice on Vengeance Falls is perfect.
Please bring Matt back soon, this was such a fun interview!
Holy fuck I can't wait for this tour
Submitting my request now to collaborate on a song with Matt!
Nik pales his skin and darkens his eyes for videos right?
Waiting for the tour! Amsterdam, let's go🤘
Matt should colab with Will Ramos for real
My BJJ master also choose very bad songs for the training hahaha I guess it's mandatory? xD
The only time I've had the pleasure of seeing Trivium live was in Omaha Nebraska with Coheed and Cambria and Slipknot in 2008, when they were doing Shogun. It was a sick show. That's also the show that I first discovered Coheed and Cambria, and they became one of my favorite bands of all time.
Mark Hunter still streaming
Got my tickets for Ascendency Poison tour, so hyped 😁😁😁🤘
Matt is the best. I’ve been a fan since ascendancy. Saw him in Massachusetts in like 06 I think? His voice was wrecked. He could barely talk on stage but when the song started he gave it all. I have been so impressed by him since.
3:45 isn't Phil Labonte also on twitch?
I can relate to Matt so much. An SSRI has been hugely helpful to me. It's definitely not a cure all or the only tool but it has been so good at taking the edge off & letting me focus on other coping strategies.
Damn, Matt's diagnosis and his description of his symptoms makes me really think I need to see a doctor haha
As if there was any question that he's one of the real ones: man's packing multiple tourniquets on tour. He's the guy, man.
I broke that same finger and it didn't heal straight so I had to relearn a lot of chord positions
at 15:00 Nik looks so in awe of how detailed Matt's schedule is
this is so wholesome to watch. Matt is such a gem.
Should have Travis join for Pull Harder if there’s a show in Orlando.
