- Junior and the Hemmings Garage gang return with rare parts to get the ’32 Ford Model B pickup back on the road during the depths of our Vermont winter.
With a host of helpful partners, the team gets the pickup running and takes it for a parking lot blast in anticipation of it becoming our shop truck in and around town, but not before our hands-on fabrication and repairs on this episode of Hemmings Garage presented by POR-15.

I think that truck is gold just the way it sits. Maybe put the hood on . Perhaps do some sand bag hammer and dolly on the sheet metal. It doesn't need anything else. Anyone can modify a vehicle, not many are in the shape to be left alone.👍
It's a classic - keep it stock!
I love it just as it is.
A lot of us do! 🤘
Keep it stock! I had a '33 Model B pickup that I restored when I was a teenager in the 70's and it really is such a nice little truck. Yours is an amazing slice of history
That thing is awesome!!
🤘🤘🤘 glad you're liking it!
I'd leave it as original as you can. It's a survivor and a piece of history. Cool as is.
So Cool!
😎😎😎
It's good to have friends with a 1932 Ford parts stash and are willing to help. I still think that a warmed up or better still, full out Model B engine would be the way to go. Thank you for bringing these videos to us.
Thank you for watching and supporting us! We appreciate it.
Just make it roadworthy. Its cool as is. 😊
😎😎😎
I would leave it stock. I love this truck!
Whats your favorite feature about it Joe?
Warm up that 4-banger so the vehicle can sustain legal freeway speeds.
Keep it stock/survivor, mechanically sound but totally stock
We shall see. 👀👀
Bone stock
leave it stock!
Keep it stock as much as possible. But it needs to be a driven vehicle on modern roads. Minor modifications for dependability on the road is acceptable. Love the old cars!!!
Cool and fun as hell.
"Dr." Stoner, lol.
😂😂😂
Leave it as stock as possible, keep it road worthy and enjoy it this summer. Then decide a plan of action for your ultimate Mode B. If you get tired of the truck give me a shout out and we might be able to make a trade.
Keep it stock and show your viewers that for a reasonable amount of money you can get into the car hobby and have a pretty cool ride.
Thanks for the suggestions, we do appreciate it! 💪
We have plenty of hot rods, but not as many of cool original rides lIke this. And I am a hot rod lover as well!
Please keep this truck stock!!!!!
Just my humble opinion. And this is coming from a guy that has a 32 pickup thats far from stock.. but with all early Ford parts.. With the resources y'all have available you should keep it fairly stock. Just not many left in such a condition as the one you have there.
Love hot rods, but this one deserves to be preserved as is. Minimal body and mechanical as required. Keep it for its simplicity.
Love the banger look. Perhaps an upgrade higher compression head and a transmission upgrade to a 4x4 t-5 and shortened torque tube. That way you retain the standard look but the benefit of better fuel and synchro transmission.
Keep it as is
Period correct hop up: 2 Down draft Stromberg 81 carbs, Winfield 3/4 race cam grind, high compression head, lightened flywheel, headers, reverse eye front spring and keep the mechanical brakes
If we could source an original Winfield cam, we'd build the whole car around it!
THIS is where its at.
So many in the past butchered those old rigs up trying to soup them up. If you have something decent to work with, id keep it stock. There's plenty of already hacked up stuff out there to hot rod if that's your pref.
Make and old school period correct hot rod with the 4 banger or maybe drop a SBC in it, those are two options that most average joes would do and can get some inspiration from.
I'm "liking" your comment, Connor...but don't think for one sweaty second that I support your SBC comment! ;-)
I'd like to see you build a warmed over Model B engine. Would you please get the battery off the firewall and back where it belongs. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the support!
Keep it original! We need to preserve our heritage, these vehicles are becoming harder and harder to find in original condition.
Dare to be different! Don't chop it and don't hot rod it! Those are super cool just the way they are!
I'd say keep it stock 🤌
Restore as stock
Any more progress on the pickup guys?
flathead V-8 juice brakes
Keep it stock. It's totally awesome the way it is . My father has two model A's 1929 and a 1930. He has modified his to use them as tractors. I learned to drive on his 1930 when I was 9 and been driving and working them my entire life. I know these old ford's well and love to run them. Trust me when I say KEEP IT STOCK and leave the patina as it is. You'll thank me later.
Keep it stock
be cool ti see hot with the flat head v8 and super charged
Restore it as original. Don't hot rod it. There is enough road junk being produced out there.
Dang, Martin...that's a little severe!
You could mod it into a V8 if you can find a flat head! The model B's are cool with the 4 banger but a pickup needs a V8!
Hot rod pick up put a Ford motor😮 ln
Carlos, I'm a HUGE fan of doing anything BUT another bellybutton Chevy motor in this thing...
I think if It has to end up a hot rod, i needs a hopped up 'banger or if you absolutely must mess with it further, a 48-53 Flathead. @@danielstoner2843
Please don’t
Leave it be for a few months and then Rod it 🏁
NOW you're talkin...
🤘🤘🤘
Adjust the brakes, clean off the mouse whiz, and that's all you need to do.
👀👀
Leave it stock, pound out the dents as best you can and leave the patina.
Restore it don't ruin it..
Restore it to original.
Leave it stock! Too many Hot Rods out there. You guys are young enough that don't know about some parts, the next generation will wonder what it should be like.
Leave it stock. A piece of history maybe hotrod the banger engine. Please please dont put sbc in it.
Noted!
Put a 2.3 cosworth
