Granite Wide Track Upgrade and Run

- I upgraded the Arrma Granite with the Boost Wide track kit (part number ARA23000) and took it out for a run. It does help with the traction rolling but does not prevent it, it is not a miracle! LOL! It was just a fun run to test it out and a quick chat about the upgrades I have done to it so far. It is pretty much done for upgrades at this point!

Love how that big boy almost jumps right out the track! Great work Addam 🤘🏻
Yeah it is a little much for the little track and it will definitely jump clear off the track on full throttle! It is a blast to rip around in the yard and is the toughest one I have for sure. It is nice to have something to toss around and not worry about it! When I get over to Al's next time it will be on 3s and it can really stretch its legs!
WOW that's wide! Nice run I think it does better just bashing around anyplace than on the track, just take it out go anyplace have fun type of RC!
It definitely has a wide stance now! Yes, it is way better in the yard romping around and is too much for the little track now. I will be taking it over to Al's soon to run on his bigger track and I think it will be a blast out there in his wide open space!
It’s like an angry little dog lol 😂 wow what a beast 👍👍😊 great upgrades Addam.. 😊 Pete
On 2s it is just perfect for fun running and bashing about. On 3s it is an animal! It is fun to send it on 3s at time but most often i run it on 2s just to not stress everything out and beat on it so bad. They are tough and fun trucks!
Awesome truck Addam and it's Al aproved. It runs very nice with the new arms.
Al approved and contributed! LOL! It would still be a Mega 550 if it weren't for him! It was a real blast and not so great on the track but wonderful ripping around in the yard. I will take it over to Al's next time and really open it up with 3s power!
Great upgrade, Addam. That's one fantastic rig right there!
Thanks Fil! One of these with paddle tires would really redecorate the beaches up there!!! They are a blast to run and tough as nails!
@@AddamsPlayground My wife has an Arrma Typhon and it's crazy-awesome. They make great stuff!
Love them trucks and ya its got brakes lol.. Upgrades did pretty good and it looked like ya had some fun for sure.. wheeelllieeee!!!
They are great fun and tough as nails! So far the only thing I have broken on these is a couple axles and those are cheap and easy fixes and a good weak point to break rather than the much more expensive parts. It definitely has some stop to it! It would have done much more wheelies but the grass was still wet out front and it was spinning a lot which also saves on the drive train too! LOL!
He he, great fun, Addam! You're right, 2s is plenty for that small area...
It was a fun run around with it to blow off steam. The 2s works great around here and plenty of power and speed. Once I get it over to Al's place again the 3s is going in an I will really be able to stretch its legs and have fun with it. Plus he has the big track that it would do great on as well!
Wow!! lol it’s so powerful the track can’t hold it! You can tell it would need corners 4x as wide just for it to go around lol - awesome!
Yeah, this one is a big too big fast now for the track. once it is up to 1/4 throttle it has run out of room and is sliding into the pipes! I trying running it a little with the throttle backed off, it helped some but it is more suited for just free running around the yard and goofing around!
man that thing rips . ferocious mate 👍 good work 👍
It is a fun one to bang about and just have a blast with. On 2s it is plenty fun for around here but once I get it back over to Al's I will stick the 3s in there and let it stretch it's legs!!
Very cool mods. I have a little 2wd granite rn and I love it.
Thanks! It would have been much cheaper to get the 3s kit but I started with what I had and went from there! The granite is a great truck and my favorite toss around and bang it up truck as it just takes it all and comes back for more!
G'day Addam🤠👩, Woe that made a huge difference to it mate👌, we're surprised how cheap the kit was!. Going by your out takes it can take a good beating too💪.
Thanks for sharing your video and details mate👍. Ingrid says hello🤩 too. We hope you have a nice weekend Addam🦘🇦🇺
Hey guys! I had a good time out romping it around and the wide track does help keep it from traction rolling most of the time. It is a really fun truck now that it is brushless and a bit more beefed up. It is one of the most fun trucks I have and it is great to have a few that are tough and can take a beating and not need repairs! Take care guys and wishing the both of you a very wonderful weekend!!
The Granite is looking pretty sweet on the track, but it handled the grass area's like a pro. I'm glad you were able to use the electronics. I hope you will bring it over next time let both Granites cut loose.
It will be coming with me next time for sure! On 3s it is going to be a lot of fun out on the back 40 and on your bigger track as well! It is a blast and a tin of fun on the brushless power and the wide track kit does help with the traction rolls. Lots of smiles for sure, thanks a bunch Al! Take care and we will meet up soon!!!
Track looks good all cleaned up.
Good run!
Yeah much better than the jungle it was! LOL! It is too small for this one as as soon as you get on the throttle you run out of room! It was a blast in the yard though! A great fun runner truck that takes a beating and asks for more!
Awesome. Outtakes were a blend of RC So & So with Sparetime RC power. 😂
LOL, little bit! Big thanks to Al for the power plant in this one and it turned it into a whole different machine! It was fun before but many is it great fun now! On2s it just about right for out here, when I get it over to his back 40 the 3s is going to make it a lot more rowdy!!!
Great video Addam that thing is a beast 😁👌
On 2s power it is great fun and rips around well, on 3s power is is nutty and wants to live on the rear wheels! It is one of my favorites to take out and toss around without any cares. It is a tough on and I can romp it around without worrying about it!
I enjoyed the video and it's a great idea. The truck looks great and like a lot fun. When you're in the grass you don't have to worry about if it's a little wet and mud is not an issue. I had a couple of thoughts. A brief project like this would be a great livestream broadcast. You could chat with people and it doesn't take long. When you were driving on your track, which looks good by the way, I thought about one of my experiences. Locally they hold festival each year. They hold tractor pulls and then create a dirt r/c track. The first time I tried racing there I mentioned to my friend that I was struggling. He wasn't. His answer was simple, "turn your speed down." I did and I had more control. I think on your track with a truck with that much crazy power it might help.
I am glad you enjoyed it! It is a lot of fun but a bit much for the little track. It was a handful out on the track and I did turn down the throttle at one point but it felt a bit slow to respond. It is definitely more of a bash around the yard or for something like an 1/8th scale track where there are longer straights and bigger jumps! I have thought about doing live videos and maybe one weekend on evening I may try it. The fear of being live and never doing it before has kept me from doing it. Plus I would never get much work done, I would be too involved with talking probably! LOL! One of these days I will give it a try, maybe a test run in a week or two to see how it goes and go from there!
@@AddamsPlayground I thought like wide track upgrade was simple and a lot of people with a Granite would be interested. When I've watched others do it I lose interest if it's a long process. The people doing them don't worry about responding to every question or comment. I think some viewers watch the video a day or two afterwards to see how it's done. You have shown us. a lot of different and creative paint techniques. Another idea had was to have two or three bodies pre-painted using different techniques. They could be the same or different bodies. You could talk about the different techniques you used, paint colors, etc. Then you could spend your time reacting to viewers comments and questions.
@@michaeldorich4485 Yeah but talking with you guys is the fun part LOL!!
@@AddamsPlayground Yeah, but you have to listen to old know it alls like me. Keep up the good work.
@@michaeldorich4485 I appreciate the ideas and suggestions! LOL!
Nice run Addam! The granite is looking great out there
Thanks! I had a great time with it. It has kind of outgrown my track but it is so much fun just ripping around the yard who needs a track!
@@AddamsPlayground yes I feel like that’s the perfect yard basher how it sits
I kept thinking you were gonna clear the pipe off the jump on your track. Runs good.
It easily would, it was hard giving it throttle out there and not running out of room too fast! It is much more suited to the yard and a bigger track like Al's. I will get it back over to his place soon I hope!
Oh yeah cool, I love my Granite 3s. I've not tried the wide conversion as of yet. I think that this is a definite basher rather than a track car. You can really launch these things if you want to. Great stuff Addam 😁👍👍
It is a really fun one to toss around and not have to worry about anything! It i a big too much for my little track but I had to try it. I really wants to fly even on 2s. I need to get it over to Al's place and really let it eat! Take care Pete!
looks good Addam! super wide now!
It is a wide load now but in a good way!
It's cool they made a kit now to make it easier but I used the arms and turnbuckles off the typhon or big rock works flawless. 👍🏻
This kit may be those all in one box. I suppose about the same prices well. For $30 I has to try it out and it is well worth the price to add the extra stability. I think Al is running the Big Rock arms on his. His is 4s and it is nutty!! 2 and 3 is more than enough for me! LOL! Take care
@@AddamsPlayground Its nice to have the torque but when gets too nutty it starts to become NOT fun for me. Especially when it's on the workbench more than on the dirt. I try to keep my bashing time longer than my bench time. 😂😤
@@SoundStream101 agreed! Speed and power is cool but once it becomes a part cruncher and you spend all your time repairing them the fun fades!
That thing said I’m too powerful for a track. I gotta run! 😀
Yeah it was very hard getting on the gas and not running out of room too fast! It is much more suited to the open area running or a track as big as Al's is. I hope to get back over there soon for some fun!
It seems plenty snotty on 2s! For $30, the wide track looks like a nice upgrade!👍😊
Yeah on 2s it still has plenty of punch and speed, too much for the track (or my skills on the track I guess!). Out in the yard it is a blast and the wide track kit does help with the stability. On 3s it is a animal and wants to live life on the rear wheels!
Must admit, I don't know a huge amount about these modern powerful bashers, other than what I've seen on Pete wylies channel.
But, that's one tough rig, and did look like a lot of fun matey!!
Loving the out takes at the end as well...... nice to know that everyone crashed from time to time, not just me! 😂
👍 👍 👍
They are a nice to have kind of RC. Plenty of power and speed to feed the adrenalin junky side and they are tough as nails so the tumbles and crashes mean very little! I drive the lunch to put a smile on my face but I drive this one angry and not worry about breaking it! LOL! This one and my Typhon 3s are a blast to rip around the yard and then toss on the shelf for next time without having to detail clean it all up which is a bonus as well!!!
That's cool I haven't seen the wide body kit my poor granite is a mess
I had not heard of it before Ericks video and for 30 bucks I had to try it! I bought the Granite not know what to expect and boy do I love it! Tough as nails!
Inspiration for my voltage 🙂
This one is a fun on and one of my favorite bashers to rip around with! It is nice having on I don't have to worry about breaking or tearing up, it just keeps going and going!
Track looks spanky fresh for this one today. 2 s seemed fine for limited space for sure. Cheers!
Yeah it is a little much for the small track now. As as soon as you get on the throttle you run out of room and smack into a pipe! LOL! It was still fun and in the yard it is a ripper! On 3s it is an animal and really rips!
That arrma line up is awesome would have been a handful on the track especially that jump they have so much grunt I've had the bashers out again I'd forgotten how much fun they're that aggressive but still controllable great vid Addam take care mate 👊
They really are great fun and blast to rip around and not have to worry about them. This one is my favorite of the ones I have but the 3s Typhon is right there with it! I think this one just has the "don't care" attitude and will go where you point it! Loads of fun and glad you enjoyed it too!
You need some rc's where your care factor is zero sometimes they're the best fun
@@rcuintheshed6981 exactly! Romp it around and toss it in the corner until the next run! I spend too much time cleaning up the others so it is nice to be fearless with one occasionally!!
Exactly I've got one covered in cow sh@t atm I was like ahhhh better waite till that dries to clean it lol
@@rcuintheshed6981 thankfully not an obstacle I have to deal with here! 😂
Smart upgrades!
Lots of stuff has gone into this one and it is a blast! It is great fun on 2s and on 3s it is just an animal! They are great fun and very tough trucks!
Super nice upgrades 👌😁✅️
The wide track kit really does help keep the traction rolls to a minimum. Converting to brushless and upgrading the rest of it to take that power really turned a fun truck into a little beast. Obviously it would have been cheaper to get the 3s from the start but in the end it is one really fun and tough truck so I aint mad at it! LOL!
Instead of breaking a arm when you hit the pipe you break a pipe with that rig. Look solid
LOL! Yeah, it is tough beast and a bit too much for the little track now! It is hard to get on the throttle as soon as you do you have run out of room! This thing has tumbles and slammed into all kinds of stuff and nothing has broken from that. I have replaced two axles from being a bit too rambunctious with it but those are cheap and easy to fix!
I have brushless senton I race it's wicked 😂.. enjoy it
I would like to go brushless in my Senton too but at this point it is probably cheaper just to but the brushless version! LOL! The #s lineup from Arrma are a blast and don't break the bank. The bigger ones are super cool but hurt the wallet a lot more! LOL!
These "new" RC bashers are a genial idea.. you don't need a track or a proper surface to run and the fun is sure!
I agree, some times it is just fun to go free-range running and let it take you all over the place! It is great fun and super tough so I can go out and toss it around without worrying about scratches and breaking things!
@@AddamsPlayground 👍👋
Nice! Do you find the steering any different since installing the widening kit? I would think that it would be more 'twitchy'?
It drives about the same just a little more stable when turning in the grass where it always wanted to tip over prior. All the geometry is still there just shoved out a little further. Overall no noticeable difference other than most of the tipsiness is gone. It will still roll over but no where near as much as before!
Last
Of all the things you replaced you didn't replace the leaking shocks
No a drop from them yet. So far none of them have leaked for me.
Will that kit work in the Arrma Senton? My Senton is 3s brushless already.
It states it is for the Granite and the Vorteks series of trucks. The biggest thing for the Senton is you are going to run into the tires getting the body. I am sure they would probably fit on there but you would have to find a new body for it or hack the sides of the body out a lot to make it work.
@@AddamsPlayground I already have the Arrma Keaton tires and wheels on it. I did trim the body so they would wok. Looks very cool with them on! But to extend them out as well would be awesome.
@@David-mf9bk As far as I know they should fit on there. You have a monster Senton already! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground It does look really cool. Got the idea from a you tube video i watched. And i was hooked. I love this R/C stuff. Just wish i had your knowledge.
@@David-mf9bk I'm just an experienced idiot! 😂 It takes time and a lot of trial and error is all! Just have fun and enjoy it!
