Here is a tip (BTW thats one of the best stretching routines) when you strech like that take a HUGE breath (through the mouth) and slowly exhale through the nose..keep doing this as you do all the stretches, what does this do? VERY PROFOUND, its used in western rehabilitation, tantra, yoga , TAO and much more, aside from it carrying blood and nutrients to the muscle (last longer , longevity etc) it will actually put you IN a better mood (yes proven scientifically wont go into a blah why here) try it and see...make sure you keep doing them whilst you do all the stretches Nina is showing you...you will be looser too....When Nina said the body is all connected, BREATH and stretching are ABSOLUTELY connected try it and see
Greetings Miss Strauss . Was my comment highlighted by your wholly talented brains 🧠 ? Cause our world is full of evil doers deceiving the minds of the people. But if it’s a real thing by yourself I m very honored by such lovely fact. Love ❤️ to you and your love ones.
All the criticism from folks that are bedroom players. Do they make a living playing in there room. I bet not. She makes a darn good living. If she could not play or plays sloppy, she would not get hired.
That wasn’t a chromatic scale. You need to incorporate a position shift or you miss a note. If you start on A at the 5th fret and only play 4 notes you miss C#, then continue to miss notes. It is a chromatic type exercise- but the scale needs all 12 tones.
It's been quite a while since you wrote this but, i needed to say something about it since you're completely wrong in what you said. A chromatic scale can go from C to B or from C to G# and it's still gonna be chromatic as long as you play the 8 notes in between. You don't need to play the whole scale to call it Chromatic. I can play C-D-E-F-G and A and whoever hear those notes will instantly recognize it's the C Major scale even though i haven't hit B not even once. The Chromatic scale doesn't need the 12 notes to be chromatic, it only needs the amount of notes you choose to play to be played chromatically, that's it. C to C# is a chromatic run just as C to C# to D to D# is also a chromatic run. You don't need to play all 12 notes the whole time to say you're playing a chromatic scale. It's ridiculous.
No she's not perfect, yes her tone is unfavorable. But yet again, people are not focusing on the point of this video. These are good stretches and great exercises. No matter how "good she is" "or isn't". I demonstrated similar exercises with several others to other players and they help a lot. Plus that stretch is AMAZING. I do it every time I play now. It doesn't matter if you think she's good, can you learn anything from this? It's a lesson. Not a video that says "judge this girl's playing".
A respected physical trainer / weight trainer to pro athletes says that you should not do a hard stretch prior to a workout because it disrupts the nerve-muscle-bone coordination. Your nerves are used to controlling muscles and tendons of a certain length. If you increase that length with a hard stretch the coordination will be off, which will affect your form during the excercise.
I was thinking the same thing. Warm up playing, not stretching. You can stretch after playing if you want to relax but it's not a good ideia to do it before playing or exercising in any way.
Dynamic stretching would be much more beneficial. For guitar warm-up I Do these about 10 repetitions: 1. roll my shoulders (both directions) 2. arm circles much like a swimming motion (both Directions). 3. Then I shake my wrist like I just washed my hands and their are no paper towels 4. Lastly I open and close my hands. Then your standard warm up guitar exercises for about 5 mins. After that I'm as limber as I'm gonna get for that session.
I'm actually a huge fan of her playing, but this video seemed really off. It's like she didn't hear a metronome, was not completely interested, felt bored or something else. I doubt she was feeling nervous holding this lesson, but yeah...mistakes were made.
Playing a lick slowly when you're used to playing it quickly always sounds sloppy. Just like driving, ever wondered why you adjust the wheel more when driving slower over the same route, it's the same. Silly comment like you've been told already.
CHOPERUS23 lol no... Not the same thing with guitar... Now go watch Michael Angelo Batio, George Lynch or Troy Stetina doing super slow exercise licks, they have a perfectly timed precise articulation... Reason being, they practice their licks slowly at first... Nita's practice routines are evident here, she rarely practices slow, probably because she's bored or has a short attention span.
Well, she's clearly not on time with the metronome. They're still good exercises but when she plays with a more stripped down setup, she seems to be very stiff with certain transitions. She's a HUGE legato player, and I think it shows in situations like this.
Thanks for taking the time Nita to show some great basics that really help and the stretches are great too! Thanks!
Wasn't at all expecting to feel that stretch with the neck bending exercise !!! Thanks!
Yeah it's a standard carpal tunnel stretch and very effective. I used it alot 15 years back while playing in a thrash/grind band.
Thanks Nita for a great lesson. Please keep making these videos, you are a great inspiration to us female guitar players! 🙂🤘
It's a good coach who reminds you you're never too advanced to keep working on the fundamentals.
Thank you very much Nita.
the stretching exercise was excellent , thanks
Wonderful tips!
Thanks Nita ,youre awesome
Love your sig guitars.
Thank you!🙂🙂🙂
Thanks for this advice Nita
I think all the criticism of her would hold more water if the commenters usernames weren't LivinInMomsBasement420 or LocalLegionGigsAreAllIPlay6969
out of respect to my late grandfather I opted not to change my name as an adult... seems like respect is a lost virtue.
No problem fuckface!
Master Exploder 🤷🏼♂️
Oh shit is this _THE_ Johnny Dildo?! :O What an honor!
That stretch exercise is actually really good, I'll definitely be using that. Very helpful lesson.

thanks bro, cant believe people dont see the value of this comment!
Great Nita \m/ The Best ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice lesson thanx. 👍🏻
She is so damn amaizing!
Amo a esta mujer
Great stretch exercise!! =)
As somebody who has a bad shoulder (ambulance stretchers with heavy patients ruined that), this actually really helped.
Great instruction Miss Strauss.
Greetings Miss Strauss .

#LivinLavidaNita 🎸
I really wish someone would have showed me how to stretch when I first started playing.
My darling Nita...
That's a good stretch
Figure 3 kinda has an Alison Hell vibe to it.
I’m guessing Jeff used a similar note sequence in the song.
Oh yeah guitar guru
I can’t work out for hell the fingering for the figure 3 exercise 😩
Human body is amazing. Especialy yours.
This is why she is here in the first place. Beauty. And the beauty of her guitar. Where's the skill?
What's the pattern for figure 2?
The most Beautiful Guitarrist in the Cosmos....
How about the whole tone scale.
you could have given her a chance to set up her own settings on the amp. it's not 2007 anymore

All the criticism here cracks me up here, let's face it she can outplay us all. Go Nita....
Nope she can't!!!
@@manuelkettenring4584 she,s in a guitar world vid on you tube,,,,you're at home.
@Manual- Nita plays on stage with Alice Cooper all over the world, you maybe play in front of the mirror in your bedroom.......
Speak for yourself buddy

She's not really in time with the metronome xD
AS usual...
Definitely not :-D But that could be the tension of talking to a camera.
Oh my neck cracked...
ohhh... this aint the JOI i was looking for,
Stretches? Now I have something to do while my amp warms up, rather than just sitting there waiting.

NOOOOOO!!!!! Not figure 1 again! Anything but that!
Chromatic scale is not!
Can I come for some personal hand exercises?
Not the chromatic scale, but that’s ok! 😂
Yeah it is...... What do you think it is?
Why was I actually expecting something different than what 99% of the guitarists I've seen show me?...
About figure 3. I don't think that's how you play "Sweet Child of Mine".
Whatever you say nita.
Why is that Jeff Loomis opening this video music???....
She borrowed so heavily from Loomis he should get royalties.
Все очень плохо. В метроном так не попадать...

That's not even the chromatic scale
She’s an average player in my opinion and this is a case of when someone gets a lucky break
Is it just me.. Or... Even her slower exercise sounds kinda sloppy?
Yep, it's just you, douchebag.
Playing a lick slowly when you're used to playing it quickly always sounds sloppy. Just like driving, ever wondered why you adjust the wheel more when driving slower over the same route, it's the same.

Is this a parody?
OMG that was horrible.
I dont even need to watch to know how sloppy she is. Horrible
Worst guitar tone imaginable! Shame, cause it so distracting from the info being presented.
When you've finished butchering that Ibanez,go and make me a sandwich LOL
She's the one making instructional videos and playing with Alice cooper every night... She could shred the fuck out of you mate
Just here to say Nita I love you so much it actually HURTS. 🫠❤️
