@ MarioinRmd......she is a really nice person...saw her a few months ago at a Guitar Center clinic....spoke with her for awhile while she was setting up....very nice and personable.....
Players like this make it look *soooooooo* easy. Goddamn. Their hands just move so smoothly... here I am grinding out scales for hours and I still feel like a ham-fisted troglodyte.
Have you tried taking real lessons from a real teacher? Not youtube. Not just any teacher you'll have to do research. The right teacher will ask you your goals, and proceed to get you to them. Like "smoother". So part of that is having your fingers in the right place at the right time, synchronizing left and right. The right teacher and your committment worth more than gold. So the 25 bucks a week is easy to part with...should be.
keep going man...every success stories have failures in them. without failure, how can a person learn their craft. I believe you can make it look easy if you don't give up!!
@Noartist There's no doubt youtube can help. But youtube doesn't spot errors, or adjust to your rising/lowering skill set. The right teacher can spot problems and suggestions. I am MOSTLY self taught. But early on I took a few lessons from a real world class guitar player. And I mean REAL lessons...not "how to play song X". I retained about 10% of what he gave me but became about 10 times the guitar player...in just a few lessons. Even to this day his lessons ring through me. Not just ANY teacher...the right one.
Very nice and gracious lady. I had the pleasure of meeting her before a show. Very easy to talk to!! I think it's fabulous what she shares here!!! Thanks, Nita 💖!!
I've been playing this a a goto Riff when I picked up my guitar and didn't associate it with the song I'm 18 until just now.. Its totally made my day..
I saw Alice Cooper (when it was the band's name) in the '70s. The band was with Fo & Eddie at the Baltimore Civic Center. They pretty much played all of Billion Dollar Babies, Schools Out (the song only) and a few from Killer & Love It to Death. The old AC band was incredible not only for the music but their stage show. Micheal Bruce was an animal on the stage. Dennis Dunaway also did a great Billion Dollar Baby bass riff. I can admit that those days are gone (RIP Glenn Buxton). But Alice (now the person) continues to put on a great show. I've read that he always employs a "Hot Chick that can Shred". There is no denying that Nita is Hot. She also can shred, but she is also humble (not stuck up as far as I can tell) and willing to help others out. She does not deserve hate! If you prefer Glenn Buxton, fine but she is doing her best to fill in and doing a darn good job.
I dig Nita and am constantly showing her to my daughter. I grew up on Cooper and for me the I'm Eighteen solo is what I consider to be an iconic solo. It is cool that she is allowed to play her solo, but when it comes down to it, I would rather hear the original.
her solo had no freaking soul! I get it she's a great player but to me she has always been too flashy for the Alice songs. Look at what Keri Kelli, Damon Johnson and Ryan Roxie did with their version of Eighteen solo, it had balls but respected the essence of the song. Anyways, that's just my opinion. I understand that Nita gets a lot of love.
tkzsfen you must not have seen a lot of guitars, because the inlays are not original there are plenty of guitars with those inlays! I saw Kirk Hammett from metellica with those inlays on his guitar 10 yrs ago! If you don't know what you are talking about you shouldn't make dumbass comments!
Tool fanatic God's of the riff no need to be an utter fucking cock Womble with a cactus up his naps eye is there? If they aren't originals then politely point it out instead of being a fuck wit.
Wow amazing!! Before Nita was born, there were other guitar heroes, now people like steve vai are nothing compared to the great Nita Strauss. My favourite guitar heroine!! above men of course!! 😍😍😍
yea i've probably seen all of them lol. when namm is on there's nothing else on my yt feed for a week. are you sure? because that inlay is only on the jiva.
Nita, I think your performance is extremely good. Just a quick couple of questions: 1.)Are you self taught ? 2.)how long have you been playing ? 3.) do you do this for a living ? I believe if someone, like me, were to listen to how and what your explaining. I believe it would open doors for me. Thank you for taking time out to explain in detail. I'm going to subscribe to you. Keep doing what your doing.
She can play well but she would largely be unknown if she's wasn't a cute blonde women. Not knocking her either there are just lot of really talented guitarist out there.
Have not clue why people comment...she nor anti e famous on RUclips ever read what people comment about...grant it she is very talented bad is of course easy on the eyes but she it would be safe to say doesn't give a crap what we write
Awesome nita but im still struggling with the arpeggios in the verses in this track I wish guitar world would tab it in the mag, pssst, lol Then i could bite into this cool lesson
So when she finishes the run on F# on the second fret, that is basically F# locrian. Which is the same as E aeolian. She just runs down the scale. I gotta try that.
What a woman. Beautiful, humble, as geeky about guitars as the rest of us. In love and inspired
Well, she's really a dream, isn't she? A nice player, obviously attractive, and just comes across as really likeable and super chill.

For sure.. The anti-Kardashian approach!
Think exactly the same.
Saw Alice and met her last night, the best guitarist and the nicest person I’ve ever met.
Saw her play with AC when he opened on the Crüe's final tour. She really is an amazing player, especially live!!!
@Dewayne Isaacs WHAT'S HER SMELL LIKE ?? plz
Love that’s she’s down to earth and doesn’t keep all that talent to herself.
Players like this make it look *soooooooo* easy. Goddamn. Their hands just move so smoothly... here I am grinding out scales for hours and I still feel like a ham-fisted troglodyte.

Excellent work! Look forward to more of your lessons.
She's an amazing player.

She will blow you away live
Love this song and thoroughly enjoyed your take.
Helps me not only to learn a solo, but also how I can approach writing solos too. Thank you so much!
10 times better than Alice's last guitarist
Love to see Nita one more time thanks so much for this video pls many many more
Love this tune, Love Nita. This video is a win win!
I've been playing this a a goto Riff when I picked up my guitar and didn't associate it with the song I'm 18 until just now.. Its totally made my day..
You were amazing at the Vancouver show last year and I still have those pics you tossed at me!
Buxton and bruce always that right combination of lead. Never an overkill. Thats what made their riffs iconic.
Such great tone on that guitar!

That was butter. Thanks alot.
I love this song.
Nita, such beauty & grace.
I Love It!!
That descending lick is rad!
That tiny drummer is awesome!
At least an artist that shows how to learn a song the proper way: with a metronome Congrats Nita!
really great guitar tone.

What a great guitarist.
Wow, classic song by a classic player!!
Awesome! Thanks,
WOWW LOVE UR PLAYING 👌
those fretboard inlays are very original!
tkzsfen you must not have seen a lot of guitars, because the inlays are not original there are plenty of guitars with those inlays! I saw Kirk Hammett from metellica with those inlays on his guitar 10 yrs ago! If you don't know what you are talking about you shouldn't make dumbass comments!

Tool fanatic God's of the riff that's a bit fucking harsh
Those EKG inlays are awesome. I'm not saying nobody else ever had them, but her guitar is the first guitar I've seen them on personally.
A tachacardic rhythm. Very fitting.
Even though you love to shred, you have become an awesome rock guitarist.
Ill say it. Nita Strauss is now my celebrity/muscian crush
to me this is extremely awesome.
Wow amazing!! Before Nita was born, there were other guitar heroes, now people like steve vai are nothing compared to the great Nita Strauss. My favourite guitar heroine!! above men of course!! 😍😍😍
Love those pulse inlays. And your playing. And your face.
Nice vibrato combined with the tremolo action.
Plays a lot! Saludos desde Brazil!!!
Thats pretty cool
Great to see the new guitar in action.... :)
is that the jiva or her S5470? if it's the jiva i'm stoked cuz i've been wishing they'd make it purple.
It is her's. The Jiva is not neck through
sad. :(
Yea you can find NAMM 2018 videos on it and she mentions how its bolt on and not neck though like the purple one she is using in this video
yea i've probably seen all of them lol. when namm is on there's nothing else on my yt feed for a week. are you sure? because that inlay is only on the jiva.
That song was out before she was even born! Great playing though!
Nita the best ever. 😍😍
Hell yeah! 🤘🏻
Nita “Rocks” enough said
Such an underrated lead guitarist.

"If less is more, more is even more." Nita Strauss. I will remember that line next time somebody tells me again that I over play.
Go get 'em, tiger!
She kicks ass!!
She is awsome
Very cool
She is hot... but it's almost insulting to mention her looks bc her playing more than speaks for itself.
..And there you have:_ THREE CONSECUTIVE "IDIOT COMMENTS"..
She can play well but she would largely be unknown if she's wasn't a cute blonde women. Not knocking her either there are just lot of really talented guitarist out there.
yeah dude,,,.....ACTUALLY she is THAT good
Please? Most of the women I meet and know say *exactly the same thing about guy players*
It's *OK* to notice someone is attractive.
she super fucking good at guitar
Good stuff. 👍
I love you Nita you fuckin ROCK
I like the bending up thing by pushing down. Have to see if i can do it with a bigsby.
Impressive.
Those inlays are so sweet
Wish her sig model was neck though like this and also had stainless frets which i dont know if her custom in the video has but I love stainless.
Love her playing and attitude a terrific musician and person!
Sweet
Have not clue why people comment...she nor anti e famous on RUclips ever read what people comment about...grant it she is very talented bad is of course easy on the eyes but she it would be safe to say doesn't give a crap what we write

Sweet guitar, I love the inlays.
Man she's badass

what guitar is this with those inlays? I think she had this one before her signature model came out right?
❤❤❤
Awesome nita but im still struggling with the arpeggios in the verses in this track
I wish guitar world would tab it in the mag, pssst, lol
Then i could bite into this cool lesson
How about tuning that thing.
So when she finishes the run on F# on the second fret, that is basically F# locrian. Which is the same as E aeolian. She just runs down the scale. I gotta try that.
Cool woman ...Nita i love you !! \m/
I see orianthi's PRS on the stand behind her. haha
her signature Ibanez is sick
What model of guitar she is using?
15 to 54, that is how long Ive been playing and Im probably as good as she was her first day of playing!
Every time i see her I'm reminded of Laurel from Arrow 😂
