I love how open she is about how she still makes mistakes. I feel people view these superstars as flawless musicians and seeing her talk about her mistakes so comfortably is really I guess "humanizing" for lack of a better word. Great interview man. They were good questions to ask.
For good guitarists at that level, it's about learning how to recover after a mistake or technical difficulty such as a string breaking in the middle of a solo.
She's not a superstar. She's not a top caliber musician in any way shape or form. She's a pro from the standpoint that she gets paid to play covers in a touring band. I don't consider her playing pro level at all. The guy interviewing her is a better guitar player than she is. Every interview I see her in she's a sloppy mess and her "improvisation" over the chord changes at the end sucked. There's other keys besides E minor Nita. Have a guy a play the same licks and nobody would give a shit. The one question I would have asked is why she needed to fleece her fans on kickstarter for over $100,000 to record a fucking album. She's been making a decent salary with Alice for the last 4 years yet she has the balls to ask people for money to make an instrumental album. Gee, other people seem to be able to do that without holding their hand out. Too many people are blowing smoke up her ass when there's thousands of other professional guitar players out there who who play circles around her and don't get nearly as much exposure because they don't have large tits and a bubble ass and weren't lucky enough to have Kip Winger put in a good word for them. Ooops, run-on sentence. She's a mediocre guitar player at best and we all know it. You know how it is in the music business, lie publicly and shoot it straight privately. Or just use an alias on youtube and be honest publicly. I'm being honest. Gotta keep that smile on your face and only say good things about other players. Never know who's ass you may have to lick to get a break in the future. One big circle jerk.
The Fury dude I think you're getting the wrong impression of me and I may have the wrong impression of her. I may have been mistaken but I thought they were talking about Alice In Chains and she was their fill in I don't really know her outside of this video. If I'm not mistaken then I would personally consider her a pretty big musician. All I know is that i've played many shows and made many mistakes myself and its something that a lot of beginner musicians don't understand that mistakes are a part of the business. I've seen bands quit after one bad show and thats not the way it works. Clearly by what you say a lot of people do actually look up to her so for her to tell her fans to make mistakes but learn from them and continue to grow could be very enlightening for someone that is terrified of playing live out of fear of possibly making a mistake. I also want to say I do understand how you feel. Its frustrating when you see people praising a musician you find awful but the point is people do happen to look up to her and she is making some good points. Just remember there are plenty of people out there that idolize people like Jeff Loomis, or Rick Graham, or Jason Richardson, etc. Music is not lost especially with guys like Music is Win and Adam Neely gaining more traction.
Brad Młodystach I didn't like it all that much either but did anyone here actually meet her, play with her at all, or even do minimal research on her at all? I cant make a judgement based on her actual abilities from one video of a small interview. Also even if she isnt great she seems pretty humble, at least in this video, which is something musicians are lacking today. So at least she is trying to send a good message in this video. Playing guitar has basically become a giant dick measuring contest at this point. Its funny though because imo Yngwie Malmsteen isnt anything special however I'm sure many people disagree and I could see why they would. Its all about opinions and imo shes decent enough to be where she is. I dont think she claims to be some crazy good guitar player, just that she's a professional one. Still fail to see why she is getting so much hate. A lot of musicians are putting raw talent above heart and personally I believe you can get further with heart than you can with just raw talent. If people can't feel what you're writing then you're only going to be appealing to those that put theory above all else and that's totally fine but there is nothing wrong with just having a passion to create music. Its possible to write great music while being a mediocre guitar player with a lot of heart.
@@Khaynizzle7 " Its possible to write great music while being a mediocre guitar player with a lot of heart. " Precisely! When Quincy Jones was quoted bashing the Beatles, particularly Paul, as bad musicians, I was like "So what?" Being a virtuoso only takes you so far...there have been a lot of great songs written by players using 3 or 4 chords while they were just learning to play.
Robert G. You sir.. Have a point there indeed. It's purely speculation but I suspect they misplaced the boggle and yahtzee games that they usually use to name them. Good questions, great players, love the channel Tyler.
I have seen her play with Alice Cooper. 100% energy and talent. Cool and mellow during interviews. There are great guitarists that are total shit heads off the stage. Nita is someone you could hang out with and trust around children 😆🤣. That is rare!
You have a real talent for interviews, Tyler. You allow the interviewee to have the space they need to express themselves, but can rein it in before a rabbit hole opens.
MR Music is win. I am a 63 year old music fan from Sweden, and I just love your intervju sessions whith different kind of People. It gives a depth to The conversation which is really interesting. And I also must say that your playing and personality is inspiring. Thank you. Best of regards: Ulf.
Reiley Williams have a look on utube for Satriani playing a really cheap ass guitar.... and he still sounds awsome. Amazing stuff, havnt got a link but look it up, he's giving a lesson to a young ameture i think. It really is in the hands but your right, you still need quality because people are paying good money to see you and they deserve the best quality hence expensive gear.
Ye that really bugs me when guitarist say that. It just isn't true. Yes phrasing and style of play are a factor but you can't magic a beginner squire+5watt amp pack into a £1000 PRS+marshall stack just by playing it differently lol! I think these guys tend to forget what kind of "tone" low grade equipment really gives you.
Very good interview work. Not a joke, you are very good at this Tyler. You know when to talk, and when to listen, and how to get the best out of your guest. Would love to see you do more.
Tyler kills it with Interviews! From Paul Reed, Mark Tremonti to Nita he really gets inside what makes em tick. Which I see they are very humble beings. Thanks Music is Win!
My band used to practice the entire set in the dark so we'd be ready on game day. It was more for muscle memory than anything. Since then, luminlays have saved my skin on a few dark stages!
When she started talking Simpsons, you can feel the tension in the room xD He just completely forgot he was married xD Loved it dude! Awesome interview!
Awesome, very nice interview (she is so clever), great tone on the guitar, beautiful hard rocker & fitness trainer. She is magic, she is full package. 🤘🏽😎👋🏽🙂🇻🇪
Man she's awesome, I love her and not in a stalker kinda way lol. I like her style and yeah she was very honest in her answers. Gives me hope as a beginner that even the pros get in a funk. I been having fun just playing and discovering things on my own. I might play some of my favourite riffs incorrectly, but it kinda sounds the same. From there though I just makeup my own thing. People ask me if I learned how to play any songs yet? I tell em no, because I haven't finished making them yet lol. I just wanna be able to make sounds that I think sound good. Practice and fun is the best advice.
NIta, about what you were talking about at the beginning of the video, playing in the cold. Been there, done that. I remember back when I was 17. I played a gig at the Norwalk Ice Rink in Norwalk, CA (don't know if it's still there). That was too cold to play in, especially when you're trying to do lead solos. I did two gigs there. The first gig, I was unprepared for how cold it would be, and my fingers basically stuck to the fingerboard while trying to do leads. The second gig, I made sure space heaters were placed right front of me so that playing leads were much less of an issue.
Nita is so cool! It's great that she's doing the RUclips rounds. She does need to work on her vibrato a little, though. Her solo album is outstanding! A must have for guitar nerds.

YAAAAAAAAAH
Lol hell yeah
I was thinking the same thing when she started talking about how saunaie it is in here.
she thinks. he bethan'not hit on this girl ^^.

The whole damn world
Mo Khan, *alright I’m guilty*
Easier to ask, who isn't....... Nobody!
Love Nita. A total pro - very humble as well. Always gracious and sweet in interviews.
She is a legend in so many ways, exactly. I love her.
She is the same way in person face to face also 😎 very down to earth, genuinely kind and humble

Last time I was this early,
I was still having trouble playing scales..
Now I don't thanks to your guitar super system!! Thanks Tyler!
haha
Tyler thinks "remember your married, remember your married"!
*you're
Yes, of course YOU'RE write! ;-)
He scored major brownie points at home by bringing up his wife early in the conversation!
Nita thinks "gawd, I hope he doesn't hit on me".
and he's hoping...maybe if she's hot she'll take off her top....oink...oink
Woah woah woah, hold on...
an Ibanez guitar with an actual name?
What is going on here?
Robert G.
You sir.. Have a point there indeed.

Robert G. There's the iceman and fireman too lol.
I know, but they're too old, so they don't count.

Jake bowens is called titan if im correct so that's that xd
She is AWESOME

And the only medicine is more cowbell!

very cool! really enjoyed her backstories and the sig guitar details.
I can't believe how much better his tone is going through that diezel. I've never heard a small Marshall sound good and this is no exception.
I love the EKG fretboard, really cool touch.
Oh man, I really need that Ibanez...
Nic Wilson Are you sure you want that ibanez.....?
Nic Wilson are you sure its the Ibanez you really want??
Such a talented young lady! Glad she is having such success!
That’s a beautiful signature model ❤
Q: Where does tone come from?
A: The fingers
They're both playing $1,000+ guitars😂
According to Reverb.com Nita's signature is at least 1500 and the AZ model Tyler has is at least 2000
go watcheric johnson play on a guitar thats not his without effects and guess what he still sounds like eric j
Tone comes from the guitar/amp. The "soul/feeling" comes from the fingers.

Great advices for guitar players to keep it simple, practice and have fun. Love it.

"Hi, I'm Nita Strauss. Do you think you can give me some guitar lessons?"...🤯
