Madame Web is the latest Sony film to cut the legs out from under Marvel. Sony's greed mixed with a general lack of understanding about what makes these characters interesting has lead the studio down a path of making some of the worst comic films of the last two decades... and thats not the worst part. The worst part is... there seems to be no sign that they are going to stop making these cash-grabs anytime soon. Today's video covers the history of Spider-man on the big screen, as well as what misteps Sony has and continues to make with the web-crawlers pantheon of villians. - Игры
Bring back the Sweeney-verse! Am I right boys?!?!
Shiiiiit, make her a well written spider-woman and I’m sold😂
At least she did her research and seemed invested in the movie. I’d say give her another shot.
bring it back hell yeah!😂
Hoo hahs
GREAT KEY ISSUES SONY SPIDER-MAN UNIVERSES. PROBLEMATIC ISSUES
Telling them they were going to be in the MCU is vile 😂😂😂😂

frfrs!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
although being in the MCU nowadays doesn't mean much
I think just about any actor or actress who isn't absolute A-tier would be thrilled to be in a Marvel or DC film. its an instant pathway to near-world wide notoriety. @@spaceguy564
Probably not too hard to trick bimbos
There really isn’t a concept of bad super hero movie fatigue. Really it’s just bad movie fatigue.
Minor difference: new movies should break new ground. That is, there can be comicbook movie (superhero movie) fatigue if the new material is redundant with existing material.
The early MCU worked (IMO) b/c the movies were being used to discuss the post-9/11 world through metaphors that were explicitly about the National Security State. Tony Stark was explicitly a military contractor. Steve Rogers was explicitly a soldier. SHIELD and Nick Fury represented the intelligence community. Natasha Romanoff was a spy. Thor was a metaphor for dealing with European powers. Hulk was a metaphor for atomic weapons. Clint Barton was an assassin who could be a stand-in for a different type of soldier than Steve Rogers.
There have been a ton of superhero films recently that had good to excellent critical response but didn't manage to hit the financial goals set for the films. Its because despite critical reception, people are warry of investing the time and money into comic cinema. The market has been oversaturated with product, and had more misses that hits since the pandemic hit. That, mixed with inflation, has lead to people being less willing to see mid-tier films regardless of genre (which I will agree with). However the pastime of going to the movies isn't affordable anymore. I used to go see a ton of films regardless of critical reception. I simply can't afford too anymore, and I am a rich youtuber (jk im very poor). However the key difference is audiences tend to lump all of MCU or DCEU projects into the same bucket... and either see everything, or universally ignore everything. Anecdotally... a lot of people I know have written of all of superhero cinema right now. They are waiting for a true diamond in the rough to appear."
@@KeyIssues Make movies that cost less. Write better scripts.
It's not like people aren't going to see the movies. But the studios should plan on a box office of $175 million to $400 million, not $600+ million.
Yeah, whoever says “super hero fatigue” is just jumping on a bandwagon. They shut up though once something good comes out. They’ll be back to business once something bad releases
@@KeyIssues After seeing box-office performance, I think it applies not only to superhero movies, but for most IP-based blockbusters that used to be 100% hits and now people are not so interested in them (Fast X, Indiana Jones, Transformers). Disney was a complete loser last year, and now Columbia takes its place (both on their 100th anniversary)
Sony, stop trying to make Sinister 6 happen! It's not going to happen!
Sony- “…no.”
Sony are channeling their inner clownery by trying to make Sinister 6 happen under their dogcrap decisions.
I don't want to see a Green Goblin movie where Norman Osborn is an Absent Workaholic Father who's biten by Some Random Golbin , & turned him into the Green Goblin.
Lmfao!
Or they just decide to turn him into an anti-hero as well and call him the Emerald Elf
@@t.j.1584when Normal dies at the End of the Movie, His Son Harry becomes the New Main Character in the Sequel.
@@t.j.1584& Sony makes a NEW Villian to make The Audience Cheer for Norman.
@@conradojavier7547 Watch that villain be called something like “The Jester”.
They’re relying to heavily on the same trope of something bites a guy and that guy becomes half animal /half human. Spiderman, Morbius, Kraven. I wonder if a rhino will bite Rhino in Kraven? 😮
probably lol
That's literally how the characters have always been what are you on about guy you're cooking absolutely nothing get out of the kitchen😂
Did kraven really get his powers from a fucking bite?
The Lion Man song was magic
Hope it makes the soundtrack... praying.
There is no super hero fatigue there is bad movie fatigue
Trouble is that we're only left with bad superheroes at this point.
@f1jones544 that's subjective
@@f1jones544You’re doing it again, stop giving these studios an EXCUSE. The heroes aren’t bad, The Writing and Movies are BAD!!!
@@Beast_Lee FINALLY someone gets it, I've been saying that exact thing for awhile now

Leave it to Sony to actively try to ruin the franchise by making their own Spider-Manless films & legit trying to ruin Spider-Man 4 by shoehorning Maguire & Garfield's Spiders & turning it into another Multiverse film. SONY ARE THE VILLAINS
Spideyless universe?? Ouch
I can understand them having to keep making something every number of years so they do not lose the rights, but do they have to make movies? Could they have not aimed for a short film or something? That way, they hopefully make something decent since they have to tell their story efficiently and get out of there. If they did make a movie, they should have at least got people that are known for making decent movies on a budget. I would have liked to see what a Madame Web movie made by A24 would have been like.
Exactly
The contracts state that it must be a live-action feature film produced by Sony and Sony alone.
I think fundementally that Sony just wants to have their cake and eat it too. Madame Web isn't interesting, and whoever was saying "yes we can make this into something" has a bright future in sales. They (sony) could have easily made a Spider-Woman film, since Sony owns those rights, and printed money if they did a simple origin story and had her face off against a minor Spider-Man rogue, or even integrated her into the actual MCU similar to how they did with Spider-Man and used one of the character they have the rights to considering he rogues gallery is mostly controlled by Marvel (skrulls, madame hydra, ect). But again... Sony is stupid and greedy and ran by Muppets.
These movies were probably rushed since sony is worried about the expiration date of losing Spider-man. And it seems sony rather lose money than lose the rights to Spider-man.
@@KeyIssues that's the issue Sony is just doing this to keep the rights to the Spider-Man movie rights
And as you said The Spider verse/Miles Morales franchise is what is keeping them afloat that's what's gonna keep the rights with Sony
And they don't touch and let the people behind it create great cinema because it's been universally praised financially, audiences and critics
It's like a gift and a curse
Sweeney-verse when boys? Am I right???
Maybe she should be given a chance to have a Spiderwoman film and re-invent the universe she was in (atleast in some extent) by cutting down any connection to Madame Web and other sloppy mess.
Way ahead of you on ignoring Sony’s Cinematic Universe of Spider-Man Adjacent Characters. I’ve been doing that since day 1 since it was obvious to me what they were doing and how this whole thing was going to be half assed. I continue to have no regrets from my decision
🙏
Sony and Columbia should swallow their money hungry egos and just for once they should let Kevin Feige help them in making a good Spiderman related content either within the MCU or in its standalone universe of sorts (as long as they can enter the MCU in a large crossover event film like Secret Wars or Kang Dynasty).
Spider-Man 3, Tasm 2, Venom LTBC, Morbius, Madame Web. Sony cannot create quality live action Spider-Man movies at all. They always interfere, they always mess with production. Their greatest saving grace in the modern era are the spiderverse movies. One could argue they are 3/8 on good movies (Tasm 1, ITSV, ATSV) since 2012, over a decade ago
What about the first Venom, where does that lie?
@@Channeleven2345789 I haven’t seen it but I feel like it just misses the mark
Agreed
Is there a chillax Spider-Man 3 The amazing Spider-Man 2 and venom let there be Carnage were actually pretty good😂
Yeah they make some dumb decisions and I hope whoever keeps making them just gets fired but those ones are at least pretty good and very much watchable.
And it's not just the spider verse movies it's also the games insomniac Spider-Man 1 and 2 are amazing games
@@JohnDoe-ou7mqlike you, I didn’t mind TASM2... but I can understand the criticism/hate for Venom 1 and 2. It’s just hard for anybody who loved the source material to get on board…
Personally, I loved Tom as an actor for Brock, but to tell the story of Venom with no Spidey? Meh. And don’t get me started on Carnage, they just didn’t do him justice IMO… again, GREAT casting, but crap execution..
...this wheel is gonna change humanity.... WITH IT'S FIST!
What sony should be doing. They should be walking over to Marvel and saying to some Spiderman writers " Hey can you make us some superheroes who have superpowers like Spiderman or could be his friends with powers." Marvel releases the comic. Because that character is in the Spiderman universe because the debuted in a Spiderman comic they get the rights to him. Then they can put that character in the movies.
Love all these Madam Web shit talk videos
Legitimately thinking about pursuing legal action against SONY for releasing this film
I think Sony should hire Mark Web to make the Amazing Spider-Man 3 without all the studio interference. I’m so sick of all the hate that franchise got. I think people were only quick to hate on those films, because they desperately wanted Spider-Man to be in the Marvel cinematic universe for some dumb reason.
Ikr?
I liked the first and third entry a lot. far From home wasn’t good and I’ll die on that hill.
Morbius>>>
I never got a chance to see what Uncle Ben looked like in the MCU. So I am disappointed with the McU Spider-Man and not involving and showing Uncle Ben in the MCU.
If Sony is going to continue with their own superhero universe, MAKE MOVIES ABOUT CHARACTERS PEOPLE WANT TO SEE! Spider-Gwen, Black Cat, and Spider-Man 2099 would make way more money than Madame Web.
Please spread this message to everyone !!!!
“STOP WATCHING any Sony’s Spider Man movies to help them make more money.”
Clearly they don’t care about their audience and movies qualities. They disrespect Stan Lee’s legacy.
Thanks to Madame web and Morbius not a lot of people are going to see Kraven in theaters and maybe Venom 3 as well. After all the sequel Venom 2 made less money at the box office than the first flim. Sequels don't usually make more than the first movie but not a lot of people like the first Venom movie. And it seems they didn't even bother to see Venom 2 in theaters. Imagine how much money Venom 3 will make at the box office.
Sell The Rights to Marvel
Please do! Before they destroy spider man and his characters forever!
Given how trash the MCU has been lately. That's not an option either.
@@marktheshark7588 I rather 20 successful movies and 5 years of misses and varying quality
Then literally 1 successful movie (venom) and nothing but misses right after
I 1000% agree with you
Nah, Sony is too stubborn to give up the Spiderman rights to Marvel Studios.
Now im worried about the kraven the hunter movie
Don't worry, it'll be horrible too.
Just now? Now!?
@@f1jones544 the trailer looks cool & idk if sony is making bad movies to troll us or are they being serious
Sony have to stop making these spider man spin off movies
Sorry best they can do is … like 6 more
What are Sony smoking that makes them think they're cookin?!?!
Honestly I wish it was more fun bad like "The Room" but sadly its a bit too flat and boring. Outside of the villian with his bad ADR 😅. That had me in stitches 🤣.
Hear me out... a standalone "The Wall" film where they just re use the thing cosutme from the 2005 fantastic 4 movie and he gets his powers from falling into a vat of chemicals at some construction site
I won’t give Sony any money
What worries me is what’s gonna stop Sony from trying to take Spider-Man back from the MCU again if they keep having financial bombs? Yeah there was backlash last time but what’s gonna stop them again?
How long until the animated Spider-Man projects get interfered with? And could Sony’s failed universe affect those?
If rumors are to be believed, what sucks even more is that Sony and Marvel can’t decide on the future and direction of Spider-Man 4. Still isn’t the best having the character be shared between two studios especially if they can’t agree.
That’s a great point and a flesh new nightmare I had not considered
After They Are Done With Beyond the Spider-Verse and Kraven the Hunter
They Must Give Up The Film Rights Back To Marvel
I’d genuinely go and see big wheel 😂
If Neil Breen writes, stars in and directs it
I am writing the script, Sony hired me after they saw this video.
@@KeyIssues genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if that’s how Sony hired writers 😂
There is a movie about killer car tire, it's called "Rubber" and might be an inspiration.
@@BloodHoundPL I’ve tried to watch that film so many times 😂 just can’t get past the first 10 minutes without becoming self aware
Their first mistake was making a shared spider-man universe without spider-man.
Edit: Did you not know who madame web was? When i first heard the movie was announced I was confused since madame web was always a supportive character especially in the 90's Spider-man cartoon so i knew it wasn't going to be a Jessica Drew film, so i wasn't hype. Moreso curious and on how the movie was gonna play out(and curiosity killed the cat)
Big wheel when
Probably next summwr
Marvel studios needs to get the rights to all spider-man characters.
Boy I'm glad I spent money and time on Madame Web. It was honestly an experience that I experienced
I am just glad that the team in Sony responsible for these abominations aren't the same people who work on anime. They CAN make good movies. They just don't because why put in the effort when people are paying them to watch a shitty adaptation in name of comic book characters and making money while maintaining the rights to those characters. It's just that the American division of Sony just care about making quick money. Sony owns famous anime animation studios such as Crunchyroll, aniplex, A-1 pictures. They are well known amongst the anime community. If the Japan division of Sony can make amazing anime with great stories, from manga and lightnovels, then the American division of Sony can too.
Sony's American Side should stick to Playstation.
Did you say Far From Home is actual poop?
Yeah it’s not good
@@KeyIssues To each their own I guess, I thought it was fine, but can you really say it’s comparable to most of the Sony Spider-Man movies?
Been waiting on this topic
I dob't want a Doc Oct Movie, or a Bad Bunny Movie.
Even audiences slated the movie.
how much money is sony prepared to lose before they no longer have anymore to keep the spiderman rights?
I actually enjoyed morbius
I'm so happy I didnt join the bandwagon and claim the Venom films were any good. Them shit is trash as bad has morbius imo
Whats the other video that he says is similar at the beginning?
I think my far the biggest failure of this film is making Sydney Sweeney a bookish nerd with giant...glasses. Do the Razzies have awards for casting?
I think if Sony saw the type of treatment she is getting from the media now they would have absolutely turned that character into a like… disgusting parody. I don’t even want to think about it.
the sweeney verse is just her starring in every genre of film
Ayo where you been guys??
I would also like to see the other video by the other creator you shouted out. 😭
Yeah please don’t disrespect Far From Home. It may not have been the best outta the trilogy but it wasn’t terrible
Kraven the hunter will be rated R
I am not sure it's just the usual squeezing the company for all the profit before jumping off, or an utterly spiteful act of 'if we can't have a cinematic universe, no one can'. I also wonder... is there a case for Marvel Comics to be made... that Sony is deliberately damaging the Marvel brand.
Sony is going to make el muerto and hypno-hustler
Hey key issues who wins office mace or senate yoda?
I just hope they both have a great time

Yeah, Sony is bad, but Disney doesn't have any respect for Spider-Man as well. After all, they made him into Iron Man Jr.
However you feel about the MCU Sony right now unless it’s Spider- Verse can’t really do Spider-Man related movie for shit.
He is a good singer... I got a extra Mic for him.
Probably not but they certainly not helping it
Damn I really love your videos. I think you finally said what the truth is. I mean every last word was correct. Thank you. 🙏
Honestly the oh it’s just going to ruin comicbook movies for the future is so stupid and unnecessary since any single spider man film seems to bad expect fit venom and the mcu spider films right now so it’s not going to ruin it
Come on, make a video about how powerful is the incredible jumping man
The only thing good about the spider verse is Sydney Sweeney
Outside of the Spiderverse movies! Yea wit certainty honestly my advice to Sony is just make animation or if they wanna keep the rights to Spider-Man get some competent writers to write their movies 😂. Even Kraven looks stupid it might b fun with that R rating but still Kraven doesn’t have his iconic accent his father does 😂Spider-Man isn’t there .
But it does have Shirtless Aaron Taylor Johnson so my wife is gonna ask me to go see it
@@KeyIssues 🤣ha most definitely itll make something for itself
Sony’s Spider-films aren’t good because the writers and directors haven’t read the comics. If they did, no one would’ve made a Madame Web film.
Not even the f*** actors read em! Jesus!
Ima come back to watch you eat your words when Kraven the Hunter actually is good. :3 ima need a whole video saying how you were wrong :3
