Hey guys...I was thinking about doing a followup to show how the round head and bare bulb look on a subject/model. Let me know if that interests you at all. Especially if you're a model in the NJ?NYC area. lol...
But mostly I wanna see how it does bare. Because I feel like it is soft enough to really be used run and gun without modifiers. Plus I tried it in a softbox and nothing compares to the barebulb.
yes, interested. I just bought ad200 and tested the bare bulb. Planning to buy the round head for the convenient of carrying it around. Will love to see your live test followup. How about with the bare bulb with the dome difuser?
after using these items for some time now, I agree the Bulb works great inside softboxes and with umbrellas etc. The Dome seems to work great when your pointing the light directly at the subject/talent either in front or as a backlight/hairlight. Also when its windy and your at a beach.
Hello, I happen to own the rogue flash gels, and they fit perfectly on the round head, and it can be hold with the gel holder magnet that comes with the accessory kit for the round head.
Just wondering if is there a way of making the fernel heads brighter compared to round heads to use then in an umbrella softbox rather than using AB2 heads with 2 flashes. was told the round heads are brighter as far as modeling light
If your looking for precut Gels check out a company called flash Gels they make em for all the godox lights and for the round head even easier to sandwich with the magnetic ring
It's so funny that your gear just pops off like live fish 😂🤣. Scared me though, lol! Good review Omar! I actually bought 2 AD200 Pros from Adorama, and I really love it.
Very helpful to see the light spread from the dome diffuser - hm, bare bulb all the way. Would like to see the spread from one of those domey-pointy thingies for speedlights. Budget may not allow for an AD200, what with horse trading for another body.
Issues with the pronunciation of the word Godox? I have used my flash calling it Go-dox and God-ox and have found it works great either way I pronounce it.
Are you enjoying the roundhead? I find that I am using modifiers too much to take advantage of it. I think maybe a magmod may be better so I can just pack the frenel head and the magsphere.
Hi Omar, how about the result between round head+dome and bare bulb+softbox? are they similar? if similar, I think I'll go with round head+dome since it's more practical
Great video Omar. Question, which trigger do you use with the flash? It looks like you have the XProS. Did you have to get a Fuji specific version of the trigger or will the Nikon version work?
Great video - THANKS! Question (can't seem to find the answer) -- Does this fresnel attachment or round head have any sort of ZOOM? I have the Godox TT685 and can adjust it to 12 degrees lens field of view equivalent width, great for real estate photography. Alas, I need the POWER that the AD200 offers but do not want the th light to be too concentrated in the center. Thanks again.
@@hallomarvin42 Thanks, but I actually found something GREAT that I have been experimenting with on my regular flash; I think these will work with the AD200. The first one is the FStoppers "flash disk" which a sort of lolly pop looking attachment (I have a 13 dollar knock off). The second one - I just received this - is the new Fotodiox "dome" attachment that looks like an ostrich egg (also very cheap). I can't say enough good things about the later, especially. Both of these things are CRAZY-looking, but perform extremely well. If the fresnel head/body of the AD200 is about 2x3 inches (around 50x75mm) they will fit. That will solve some of the angle of field needs, but not all; I still need something to lighten the front of a backlit home from time to time...set off a flare in the yard, maybe?
I honestly don't get the round head attachment... surely godox could have achieved the same thing by releasing a variant of the AD-S2 reflector to go over the bare bulb but with say a magnetic circular rim at the top?
Hey Omar, thanks for the video. I watched Robert Hall comparing the H200r and the bare bulb in a softbox and the difference with the light spread is negligible and also there is no light loss with the H200r, did you test this?
I think it's pretty close, with the bare bulb having a bit more. I'd check out Robert Hall Photography's site. He does some great tests with data and numbers
I am a long time subscriber (and I will be till the end of RUclips) so I knew You drop all the stuff all the time but Omar God! (See what I did there). I was just waiting for You to drop the bulb...or drop the mic ( see what I did there)

Yes I would love to see it. Specially in a softbox to see which gives the best light.
Oh yes, that would great. Thanks please!
But mostly I wanna see how it does bare. Because I feel like it is soft enough to really be used run and gun without modifiers. Plus I tried it in a softbox and nothing compares to the barebulb.
Yes, I would like to see how the Round Head compares to the small reflector that you can buy for the AD200.

Loved this video!! This is precisely what I was searching for, and you didn't disappoint!!!!! New Subscriber
Thanks for showing the AD200's ability to power a 7-foot umbrella. I always wondered about that.

Appreciated this video. Thanks for posting.

I think the photo samples you flashed in the beginning were great. Would love to know what modifiers you used.
I was thinking about buying that kit for my 200’s but you just saved me $$$.
I do like now worrying about the head. I'm going to do more tests with light on a subject.
Omar Gonzalez Photography I’ll be much thankful! Do you think the amount of light loss goes beyond .5 (at 1 meter) of a stop?
Very helpful, Omar. Your the best, thanks.
Soon the ad200pro is coming out. It suppose to have better color corrections. I use the gels but for sundown situations.

Is the round head better than the barn door kit that is magnet

How is the brightness on the modeling lamp for the round head?

Does the metal cover at 6.23 also serve as a snoot? I noticed the hole on the end.

can the "Flashpoint S-R1 Round Head" fit the fresnel ad200 head? its only $6

AerialLensVideo no, it doesn’t. The fresnel head has a spread that equals 35mm on the 685. Don’t know about the round head though.

Hey, just a warning...putting a gel directly on the bulb is a good way to melt them permanently! You've been warned :-)
I honestly don't get the round head attachment... surely godox could have achieved the same thing by releasing a variant of the AD-S2 reflector to go over the bare bulb but with say a magnetic circular rim at the top?
Do the rogue gels cover the round head, if you sandwich em between the head and the ring?
It's a darn good thing you're a photographer and not a diamond cutter. 🤪
Or surgeon. That didn't work out.

LOL !!!
Hey Omar. there's a S-R1 round head for speedlights to be used with these modifiers.
Just got mine with the round head! Love it! :-)
Benjamin Kanarek Magnets are the future!! Lol.
It's not because you don't use the speedlight head you have to throw it :-). great video and godox. I love it
I am interested in this system. How do you get it to work with Fuji cameras?
Hey Omar, I also noticed that the round head stops firing after 40-45 flashing.... Just doesn't work. Have u come across such issues with that?
how the f (for friend) ad200 was connected to all of this?
I went with Magmod . Easy to gel but more expensive
Ed Krisiak same here. I love it
same
seamless Omar, seamless :-)

Nice review
Get two?
Maggrid + Magsphere problem solved.
$200
drop expert
I would really like to know and learn what these actually DO in real life. 🤪
round one sucks taking all the power away , bare bulb plus diffusion best in my opinion
Oh, dear don't damage them, you make me jump lol!

Did they find the Bible ?
That Godox dome looks useless!
