There is a point to be made that the source material isn’t as accurate as some think, since it was written much later by a Maester who used rather unreliable sources in his account of these events. Rhaenys smirked because that's where she wanted to go to free her Dragon and the Crowd she was in was anyway being pushed by the Goldcloaks towards it. She got in without being noticed.
Yeah, whoever decided it was a good idea to have the Coronation above the dragon pit while a dragon rider is in town didn't really think that one through lol
@@flabbergaster1011 yeah, but you're missing my point. None of Alicent's children are going to do what Rhaneys did. It was pretty evident that Rhaenys was leaning towards Team Black. When the throne gets usurped it only takes 1 guard's loyalty to let her out, which is exactly what happened.
Great reaction! It's been really interesting seeing you both grow with these series and become acclimated to the style of writing/storytelling. It's definitely different from others.
I just want to say that Spartan and pudgey’s reactions sums up what I’ve noticed amongst other couples that react to the GOT’s universe, the women follow the story and the connections that the characters have with each other more closely and notice the small things going on more than the men, that isn’t saying that the men don’t care about the story or the connections it’s just they are more focused on the action and the big situations going on, so the women often have a better grasp of what’s going on and are able to predict what’s going to happen better than the men IMO
LMAO Spartan is so innocent, how could Alicent ignore that this dude is touching himself watching her feet, they are sitted 4 feet apart and she took her socks off for him XDD
I think Helaena's prophecy has multiple interpretations. Until the literal beast beneath the boards this episode, I interpreted it as saying there's some danger brewing just out of sight, a forecast of the events to come. It could refer to Viserys's tendency to cover up all the tensions and pretend that everything is alright when it's not. It could also refer to the network of spies under floors and in the walls, a caution against people like Mysaria and Larys.
My possible interpretations of the prophecy: Rhaenys crashing through the dragon pit at the end of the episode on the back of her dragon Meleys, the explosion killing innocent Kingslanding civilians simply for being there. The coming war and conflict. Or, Aegon's tyrannical kingship. I don't know why, but to me I got the strong impression that the prophecy referred to Aegon bringing the kingdom to ruin.
That scene certainly was a bit of a heel turn . . . I guess Alicent and Larys are sole mates. They certainly have a weird socks life, but hey, whatever floats their boot.
It's a shame that people give you flack for missing stuff, everyone is human and we're all here to enjoy your reaction with you so don't be hard on yourselves or take it too seriously. I guess sometimes people want you to have the best experience and not miss anything at all and sometimes come across overzealous. Personally I'm really enjoying the channel and the relationship between you guys, you each appreciate different aspects of the show and bounce off each other really well. Keep it up!
I don't think anyone is "giving them flack" they just are trying to explain things they are missing... Even Spartan said he doesn't mind and can laugh at himself for missing stuff it's not a big deal. Better to tell them what they miss rather than them be confused or out of the loop.

i'm sure a lot of us are very careful not to spoil, it would be nice if the reactors did the same or at least cut the spoilers during the edit. I expect spoilers for GoT from S&P as it is so closely related and they are watching concurrently but spoilers for other shows outside ASOIAF should at least be cut from the edit.
Spartan should really listen to pudgies theories and observations more because she more often than not is right and extremely on point, while spartans are more often than not wrong and way out of field (sorry spartan😂). Spartan said in one reaction that he doesn’t really listen to her or her theories for some reason, like how she realized Joffrey is Cersei and Jaime’s son very early, but he just didn’t listen to her or take her seriously, so he really should listen to her😅
Exactly. Its really cool to see how she picks up on a lot of those things. Even in this reaction, she mentioned that Haelaenas prophecy could mean something more and I think she's right. It probably means 2 things, one would be what we saw and the others would be spoiler that shows up later in season 2
@@Buttcakes15 This was actually hinted at in episode 8 as well. Assault is never ok but when Alicent told him "you're no son of mine" and he responded that he was never enough for her or his father, it was clear that he was a product of severe emotional neglect. I hope that he'll have more nuance than just being Joffery 2.0. I've not read the books but it would be more interesting to see him actually take to being king and actually be somewhat good at it. That would add to the rivalry with Aemond who wants the throne. I'm still team black but it would be nice to see some development with Aegon.
Criston Coles actor said in an interview that he didn't actually best daemon at the tourney, he attacked daemon on his back when he already won, actor said he hopes people picked up on that, that criston was never an honorable fair dude from the get.
I always watch the show twice because you can miss so much in the conversations. I love your reactions so don't worry about missing stuff. Tayla putting the candles in the window was the way that the white worm found out about Viserys death. After watching GOT you learn that you have to listen to the conversations they tell so much.
Yup I caught the candle thing right away but also knew that was the same handmade that we saw in another episode that had previously gone to the white worms home to relay information.
I was blown away by the details in the coronation. It felt like watching Nicholas II being crowned in an Orthodox ceremony with all the hollow pomp & circumstance of a rotting system. It's what I'd always envisioned from a GoT coronation. Tom Glynn-Carney was terrific in bringing out Aegon's fear, hesitation, pride & euphoria all at once. I'm glad they kept much despised Criston putting the Conqueror's crown on Aegon II's head. The Kingmaker is born! What this show does very well is these details, down to locking up servants. Usually these passionate debates, the sense of treachery, the heartbreak are glossed over & we only see the regime change as a "fait accompli". This brings to life the mechanism that historically goes behind a coup, which I assume is as emotionally taxing for the people seizing power. That's why I liked agonized & conflicted Alicent more than her steadfast source counterpart. It's more flesh & blood. She vacillates but her messianic fear for her children fates her to make a cursed gamble. *Jokes aside, Tfw u only support Green Lives Matter King for the extermination of Strong Boys cause ur pro Valeryian blood supremacy.*
The burning building was Mysaria's house. The hooded figure was deff not Otto, but probably one of his lackeys, sent to burn down her house as a meessage for her not to overplay and try to blackmail the Hand again, maybe even to kill her. Or, maybe the lackey was sent by Larys, again on behalf of the queen, without her asking for it.
But Alicent did ask him to do it in that weird feet fetish scene😂 her payment/reward for him to do it was that she let him get off while looking at her feet 😂
@@suddenimpulse030 it ain't much of a spoiler when the obvious is true. Even so it is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Not unlike the kill list for the coming episodes.
The commander of the Kingsguard, Westerling, also plays a very important character in "Outlander"(great show btw) along with the actor who played poor Beesberry who was just killed this episode. I also very much hope they don't kill him off because the actor, Graham McTavish is just awesome.
Larys has a foot fetish , he shares information with Alicent and for an exchange she shows him her feet :D as I understand it has been going on for a long time
22:47 She knows because Talya lit those candles in the window. It was a prearranged signal that the King was dead. 28:42 That's because they are twins. The actors and the characters. 29:10 The one with Rhaenys is Erryk. The one staying loyal to Otto is Arryk. 29:15 No. That's Mysaria's (The White Worm) house. Burned down by one of Larys Strong's men. 29:40 Lol. You're so wrong here. As if Otto is personally going around burning peoples houses down.
This was an amazing episode and I love the ending because we finally got to see Rhaenys's dragon after all this time. The burning house I think was White worm's home and the one walking away was one of the many people Lyvois made to be his assasins. Helena most likely was crying because of what she saw was to come in the war and perhaps those she might loose of her family as well...not a spoiler only guesses at this point. Aegon was crying because he was being forced to do what he didn't want but then he saw how the people cheered for him and he started to like that fact also I am pretty sure he knows that his father's last words were not to make him king so he was upset aboit that as well because he felt like his father never loved him.
I read it Larys as playing Otto, rather Otto and Alicent at the same time. He goes along with Otto and finds info the White Worm, then trades info for feet with Alicent and executes her request.
I don't mind at all if you guys miss out on some information. I'm sort of a fanatic who has seen the show twice, read the books 3 times, and talks about GOT with my therapist, as first time watchers you've caught on to everything so far and quicker than I did the first time around. One of the initial things I liked was when you pause the episode, say your thoughts and continue! I'm really liking everything and the way your channel is progressing!! :) Mysaria is my personal fave in this episode, I'm mad about how the coronation scene went since I didn't get a single "long live the queen" from the books 😤 I would've been shouting 😭#teamblack !!
a cool symbol of this episode also was when dragons are used in war the small folk always suffer(when meleys Rhaenys dragon breaks through the ground of the dragon pit, I would guess like 100 innocent died. So the action was only semi moral high ground.) #teamsmallfolk
Larys has a lightning bug sigil that he created that he has on his cane. He also pinned the sigil to the guys whose tongues he cut isn't before sending tokill his father and brother at Harrenhall. The White Wyrm reminds me of Varys with wanting what is good for the people.
In Westeros Kinslaying is the worst of taboos and not only that she would also be a Kingslayer. She is not the kind of person who would want to be titled a Kinslayer and Kingslayer.
Great reaction again. Pudgey is on it... she sees all the details! Your timing is incredible between the 2 episodes. Alicent knew about Larys... and his foot fetish... its a sort of payment for information and loyalty I guess.
I think Alicent's misunderstanding of King Viserys' final words wouldn't have made a big difference because Otto's plan from the get-go was for his grandson Aegon to usurp Rhaenyra. This is why he installed his loyalist in the small council in the absence of The King.
I think the burning house was Mysaria's, the white worm. Larys offers Alicent to 'take care of the head". Also the guy in the hood i believe is one of Larys' men who burned down Harrenhal and killed Harwin Strong and his father Lionel the Kings hand.
Aegon was crowned in the dragon pit. That's why she was happy to be heading that way. When you guys say no event ever goes well on Game of Thrones, I'm sitting here waiting patiently for you to watch more GOT 🤗
The prophecies are so subtle... I didn't even realize until now but Helaena said in episode 6 that Aemond would "have to close an eye" in order to be a dragon rider.
@@terrytumble162 Yeah it should be Jaehaerys. If they're both girls it'd be a change from the source material, but I don't think they'd change that - I could be wrong but I don't see why they would. Idk why Aemond said that though, maybe he was talking about viable leaders which the children are not? Perhaps he was claiming it in a similar way as when Renly spoke to Ned in GoT S1E7 (no spoilers for season 2+) - he thought he would be a better king in practice even though his claim was weaker. Could be a writing error, or a genuine change, idk.
I feel bad that you guys are getting flack for missing things, I study film and one of the first things we learn is how to become an "active viewer" and constantly work your brain while youre watching a show/film. Pudgey is definitely an natural active viewer but Spartan is not and thats not a bad thing at all!! Even I find myself not being an active viewer a lot of the time because you can become so easily invested that you don't really think about what you watch until afterwards! I know that I would have missed a HECK of a lot if I hadn't watched YT videos on this show. Keep watching how you guys watch and don't worry too much about it because I enjoy that Spartan watches to simply watch and Pudgey catches on and it creates an interesting dynamic between you both and I'm here for it!
Regardless of what Alicent believes to be the truth, Rhaenyra is still the heir, and she still helped Aegon usurp the throne. Even though she has the best of intentions its still treason.
Thing for telling Arrck and Errck apert. Arrck begins with A for Alicent, Aegon, and Aemond. Errck begins with E for... (this one's trickier.) aEmma's daughter. The actress who plays Rhaenyra is named Emma, so that works too.

There is a point to be made that the source material isn’t as accurate as some think, since it was written much later by a Maester who used rather unreliable sources in his account of these events. Which also makes it really cool since the events as laid out in the books and the series can exist side by side (to some extent)😊

36:08 , You already saw Rhaenys Coming to the Wedding of Rhaenyra & Laenor on her Dragon MELEYS in Episode 5. Laenor was on SEASMOKE.
2) The Coronation happened in the DRAGON PIT.
@@WilsonRows "a" dragonrider? all of alicents children ride like the nastiest dragons
When you said "maybe she's comfortable around him" I almost choked on my tea! Lol
Emotional intelligence.
LMAO Spartan is so innocent, how could Alicent ignore that this dude is touching himself watching her feet, they are sitted 4 feet apart and she took her socks off for him XDD
the naivety of the foot scene was... hysterical!
I think I'm in love with the faces Pudgey makes. Great reaction as usual.😆
the guy that was hanged is from a big family house, he doesn't live in King's landing in a small house, this was the white worm house
if Otto is the hand of the king, then alicent is the "foot" of the king. lol
The feet of Harrenhal
That scene certainly was a bit of a heel turn . . . I guess Alicent and Larys are sole mates. They certainly have a weird socks life, but hey, whatever floats their boot.
It's a shame that people give you flack for missing stuff, everyone is human and we're all here to enjoy your reaction with you so don't be hard on yourselves or take it too seriously.
I missed a lot of stuff my first time and I was into it, idk why people expect people to pick up everything in one watch

The building where the coronation was held is the Dragonpit. The dragons of house Targaryen are held inside/underneath it.
LOL @ Spartan this episode. Thinking Alicent is not aware of the foot fetish in that scene. Also, thinking Otto would personally go and burn someone's house down 😂😂

We do keep track of people that continue to do this video after video and will resort to stronger moderation if you ignore repeated warnings. Please respect S&P and others in the community who do not want spoilers for future HotD or GoT events. If they wanted to know what happens in the books community members would read them. Thank you!
i'm sure a lot of us are very careful not to spoil, it would be nice if the reactors did the same or at least cut the spoilers during the edit. I expect spoilers for GoT from S&P as it is so closely related and they are watching concurrently but spoilers for other shows outside ASOIAF should at least be cut from the edit.
The hanging man was the guy they stopped at the gate… the burning house was the White Worms house.
The coronation was *at* the dragon pit, which was why she burst out from underneath.
Spartan should really listen to pudgies theories and observations more because she more often than not is right and extremely on point, while spartans are more often than not wrong and way out of field (sorry spartan😂). Spartan said in one reaction that he doesn’t really listen to her or her theories for some reason, like how she realized Joffrey is Cersei and Jaime’s son very early, but he just didn’t listen to her or take her seriously, so he really should listen to her😅
For real, she really picks up on a lot of nuance plot points
Exactly. Its really cool to see how she picks up on a lot of those things. Even in this reaction, she mentioned that Haelaenas prophecy could mean something more and I think she's right. It probably means 2 things, one would be what we saw and the others would be spoiler that shows up later in season 2
Also in this reaction how she picked up on Aegon never being loved by his family, but when he becomes king he is. I didn’t even notice that.
its not that big of a deal. also having spartan agree with everything she says would be boring, let him have his own reaction lol
Erwin Smith on the shirt? Cool. Btw, he looks like Aegon The Conqueror, ha!

22:50 she knows because Talya lit the candles at the window right after she informed Alicent
It was one of Lary's "busy bees" we saw walking away from Mysaria's burning mansion.
But Alicent did ask him to do it in that weird feet fetish scene😂 her payment/reward for him to do it was that she let him get off while looking at her feet 😂
Mysaria is playing a dangerous game. But I think she knows

@@suddenimpulse030 it ain't much of a spoiler when the obvious is true. Even so it is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Not unlike the kill list for the coming episodes.
Alicent selling her feet is definitely one of the weirdest moments in GOT/HOTD history lol she definitely knew you could see it all I. Her face.
The commander of the Kingsguard, Westerling, also plays a very important character in "Outlander"(great show btw) along with the actor who played poor Beesberry who was just killed this episode. I also very much hope they don't kill him off because the actor, Graham McTavish is just awesome.
Larys has a foot fetish , he shares information with Alicent and for an exchange she shows him her feet :D as I understand it has been going on for a long time
I love how the music that plays during Aegon’s coronation is his mother’s theme music. Truly symbolic of Alicent’s true desires.
Wasn't Otto in the cloak, was one of Larys' henchman burning down Mysaria's HQ.
Alicent was trading for info. She was 100% aware. Definitely considering Rhaenys words tho in that moment imo.
Keep up the excellent work 🤩 🤩
"it's hard to put a leash on a dog when you place a crown on its head." - Tyrion Lannister
I read it Larys as playing Otto, rather Otto and Alicent at the same time.
He goes along with Otto and finds info the White Worm, then trades info for feet with Alicent and executes her request.
It was Mysaria’s house/apartment. Larys said to take out the spiders you have to remove the head. Meaning murdering Mysaria.
I need a poster of Rheanys on that dragon! So badass!!
I love the way Pudgy says "I kneerrrrooowww'

Otto the Hand and Alicent the foot 😂😂😂
😂😂
I actually laughed at the "lost his marble" comment.
the coronation was in the dragon pit and the dragons caverns were beneath it. So Rhaenys sneaked down and due to the big crowds nobody noticed.
a cool symbol of this episode also was when dragons are used in war the small folk always suffer(when meleys Rhaenys dragon breaks through the ground of the dragon pit, I would guess like 100 innocent died.
She is not the kind of person who would want to be titled a Kinslayer and Kingslayer.
as always not only cool reactions, but good discussion about the episode
Great reaction again. Pudgey is on it... she sees all the details! Your timing is incredible between the 2 episodes.
Alicent knew about Larys... and his foot fetish... its a sort of payment for information and loyalty I guess.
It was Mysaria's house that burned. Larys sent someone to do it.
We need “Not your Aegon!” on merchandise 😂
It’s one of Larys silent assassins that burned the White Worms quarters.
The story that's being told in this show is a period in Targaryen history called The Dance of the Dragons.
Meleys, female dragon, is nicknamed the "Red Queen", she's Princess Rhaenys's dragon. 🔥🐲
Also, just a note: the coronation was taking place inside the Dragonpit; that's what the structure they're all standing in is called.
They should have called this episode "The Feet is Strong".
For the Night is dark and full of feet.
Larys burned Mysaria's house. Erryk (Aegon's former guard) helped Rhaenys. Alicent knew about the foot fetish, that's their arrangement.
Alicent knew what she has to do to get the info from Larys, she looked all to familiar. She doesn’t like it but she will do it.
Aegon was crowned in the dragon pit. That's why she was happy to be heading that way.

The prophecies are so subtle... I didn't even realize until now but Helaena said in episode 6 that Aemond would "have to close an eye" in order to be a dragon rider.
We saw Aegon and Helaena's twin children this episode. They are a boy, Jaehaerys, and a girl, Jaehaera.
I wasn’t sure if they were both girls because Aemond claimed he’s next in line for the throne if Aegon dies. Surely it’d be Jaeherys?
@@terrytumble162 Yeah it should be Jaehaerys. If they're both girls it'd be a change from the source material, but I don't think they'd change that - I could be wrong but I don't see why they would.
Idk why Aemond said that though, maybe he was talking about viable leaders which the children are not? Perhaps he was claiming it in a similar way as when Renly spoke to Ned in GoT S1E7 (no spoilers for season 2+) - he thought he would be a better king in practice even though his claim was weaker. Could be a writing error, or a genuine change, idk.
