I have that same little FPV monitor! Had it for a long time and recently I ditched that little crappy battery and I made a battery pack that has 2 18650s that I strapped to the back giving me 4.5 amps of long lasting power! Have not had to charge it up since I put the 18650s on which was almost a month ago. LOL
For the last seven years, my go to fpv Monitor is my Sharp Vision diversity monitor... Day light viewing capable ultra bright non reflective surface...Unbeatable, doesn't even need a shade in direct sunlight. Mostly use it with a relay like you're doing for Fixed Wing..still got good range using a pair of directional antennas though...Touch wood, it's still working...
I have got it to for checking inave settings. Really sharp and bright, silly money! Ps put a lead with a 1s lion battery on it and it will last a good part of your day!
I use the screen of my old cyclops box goggles in a 3d printed housing... Works good enough... Was basically a freebie because after upgrading to fat sharks I never used that bulky goggles...
Howdy Roger, not sure and I have no idea where the scales are at the moment (think granny nicked them). realistically, 200 grams or there abouts. Would be fine on the top of a Tx. I even considered that myself with a larger screen!
Thanks for the upload @RagTheNutsOff... bought this cheap fpv monitor as well, or its equivalent at least for about $26.00... works great! But can you add a dvr on this? maybe like the RC832?
Hey Chris, yea I looked at using a li-on cell, it would just be odd on the back of it. So just plumbed for the standard cell. Someone else said it lasts all day with a larger li-on cell though. Matt
Howdy, it really depends whether you're in a open area or not. If you are then yea it should be fine. If you're in trees or woodland, then yea you'll have issues as it has no diversity. Saying that the Moneagle I have here I was using it to fly a new quad, not a problem see the FPV footage in this video (skip to the end for the pure footage) ruclips.net/video/DkZBJJyC_kw/видео.html Hole that helps. And no, it won't replace goggles for me. They're nice to have for more relaxed flights (say waypoints for example). Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff Thanks for the reply, I am on a low budget can't afford goggles, so ordered it just now. But yea my area is surrounded by lot of trees so that's makes me worry a little. I am already using that cheap OTG fpv receiver on my phone for fpv but it goes static a lot in between... hopefully this monitor is atleast better than that. Fingers crossed.
A huge tip would be to match the antennas. So if your quad has a dipole, use a dipole. If it has a clover, use a clover on the screen. That will make a huge difference, even a cheapo one! Oh and another note, several people have commented about using a 18650 battery instead so it lasts wayyyyy longer. Hope that helps and for the money, it's really good. Matt
I'll be honest im a noob but I have a question, can I use this monitor and then disconnect the antenna and put this inside a small box with the camera right next to it to monitor 3d print in a box? If so what camera would you suggest that works with this fpv screen ? Thank you much guys!! 😊
Great review, it looks nice. How many frames per second can we get with this ? Is there sound coming out of the screen or is there a possibility to connect headphones ? :)
I have so many tablet screens from 8 to 10 inch tablets, even amoled samsung ones and would prefer to reuse them with a receiver. Might be a good idea for a receiver only solution or comparison cause android 5 and upwards still work great. It should give a better result cause these where 200 - 400€ tablets.
@@EnglishTurbines Of cause it worked cause I used them on the mavic 2 and mini since crystal sky and smartcontroller had died due to planned obsolescence. do you believe you'll get a better picture from a 25$ piece than a.3 year old samsung tab S5 ?
@@typxxilps No, I use a pro FPV monitor with led backlighting which is super bright, even in direct sunlight and no shade at all...It also does not have a shiny reflective glass screen like your Tablets have.
You can get usb receivers for PCs and tablets/phones, downside is that they tend to have about 100ms latency, not so good for hardcore quad racing, but aught to be tolerable for fixed wing and casual cruising..
3 minutes of dead space at the end! Always worth checking your final render before uploading!😉 My short and sweet review of the monitor is here ruclips.net/video/KqaHTShE0f4/видео.html
Anyone worked out how to install the Eachine Pro DVR on this? Ive got the monitor and the DVR so I might have to pull the screen apart and investigate.
@@RagTheNutsOff Ive got 2 of these monitors (one in the post) and Im very impressed with the quality and function. I got both for US$30.00 each and so far no issues at all.
Hey Doug, I was going to cut it some slack as it was so cheap... But even still it works great and didn't need much slack. Only minor gripe is no mounting system. Matt
@@RagTheNutsOff I fly with the FXT Vipers. Not impressed with that monitor... That's fxt. Poor soldering at each VTX. Snugging the antennas broke the connections...
@@dougmcpheters1546 I have Vipers too, love them for Quad flying...Both video recievers eventually failed, but I fitted my 5 inch Little Pilot monitor in it...Works great.

Hey Roddy, I can't argue with the price on that screen at all. Was using it with another screen in the house to fly that quad around. Matt

Appreciate the review brother. I'd like to get into FPV a bit, but need to do it on the cheap.
