as a long time abuse survivor, this felt incredibly waking
This is the way this song should be played. The bass guitar that haunts your dreams.
No more of that remix please.
Agreed! That first minute is unreal.
Who would have imagined after Joy Division this would be their new sound. Amazing 🤩
They were slowing heading in this direction if I recall interviews but would it have been quite like this idk
Not so new, NO were in existence 7 years by this point.
When we heard this for the first time in the 1980's ... we knew it will be huge!!
The best song ever made, ever!
Bet
I definitely rock my new.order true faith t.shirt. Song was a favorite as a kid, still is. Honestly I'm not sure if I fully understand the songs meaning now any better than I did at 12 yrs old. Thats. N.o :)
@@joshwag9136 awesome! I still rock my
True faith tee too of course! This song was a total life changer!
Yeah it’s my favourite song of all time. Awesome to hear them experimenting with it live for the first time
Hooky just brimming with enthusiasm @1:33 ...
You should read Hooky's book Substance to understand why (and listen to Barney's voice too 😂)
This is the band that made my life happier!!!
Same
I was there!!!
New Order still rocks steady today simply because of their great melodies. So many timeless hits that still makes me wanna dance whenever I hear them. Keep rockin it steady New Order!
I was there! the bass drum almost knocked you over!! and the LAZERS!!! 16 year old lad was then a new order monk!!
New Order's best ever song?
i feel so extraordinary when i listen to this
The music video for True Faith was filmed during this too
Hooky's leg is on it
their best song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why am I about to cry?
Cuz I t touched your teenage soul😢🎉😂
As a scapegoat survivor of narcissistic parent child abuse, this song rings more true than it did whenever I first heard it in 1987! I was nine.
The look on Hooky's face.....
One of the best songs ever! Ive loved them since the 80th
Such a raw and unpolished version, still sounds good with the alternate/messed up lyrics.
They sound great here. Thank you.
Just now, watching again the True official vid I realize the reason for ONLY some shots of this specific track was pro recorded. They used THIS footage for the vid. Chocked. O___O
This song is a great achievement.I"s unique.
Barney hammered here lol
New Order is perhaps the best band I have ever heard in my lifetime. I am a total MUSIC-junkie and they are simply remarkable and the remix of "Bizarre Love Triangle" is the best dancer song EVER----unless you want to compare it to "Blue Monday" or "Substance". God I, LOVE NEW ORDER. CAN;T WAIT FOR THE NEW ORDER/PET SHOP BOYS concert coming up here in a few weeks!!!
I think you meant " Sub-culture )
Oh, wow! This is from the live album (the purple one published by BBC I think, with shots of the whole band on stage). It also has their "encore" of "Sister Ray" with the Star Trek TOS samples at the end, if I remembered it correctly!*
(There's also a small break in the concert where Hooky is playing the bass line to "Dreams Never End". If only they played that there, too!)
*I only had it on cassette tape, with no idea if they ever released it in CD format or not.
How many bands ever debuted a song at Glastonbury?
most I would suggest
Best out of tune vocals ever !!!
he's really nervous. obviously not used to being a front man or lead singer. it's still an incredible song, but there's a reason that singers get treated the way they do. It's hard to stay in tune with vocal chords all the time.
Amazing!
Great upload ! Thank you very much. Cheers
Acojonante!!!
This is so good.
Es uncreible❤❤❤❤❤

Cool Rickenbacker Bass……
Did he ever sing the same lyrics twice?
essas imagens é a do video dvd?
Sim, imagens desse show estão no clip
Wow he was nervous
Has anyone noticed their are two.versions of this song that have a slightly.different chorus. The part where he says to the child I lost replaced by fear was taken out of the u.s radio edit. I have never heard anyone mention this, but I know some stations edited that part, not sure if because of the lyric, or just a way to take more.of the song out. Wish I knew why, I have no clue why this was done?
There're lol
Caught it before you did.
The childhood I lost replaced by fear. Same lyric.
Correct me but did he re-arrange the lyrics from the commercially-released 12"?? I still LOVE NEW ORDER!!!!!!
These were the original lyrics . The released ones were the clean version .
Is this Ian Curtis or Bernard Summer??
Sooo thankful for a response !
Kind regards 😊
It's Bernard Sumner. Joy Division was refounded as New Order after Ian died in 1980. 'True Faith' was released in 1987.
@@gebegebe2114 thank you!
@@Münsterdom13 Bitteschön. :-)
Barney needed a vocal coach.
He got one for Technique.
Hooky looks like hes about to puke
The audience would piss him off at times
You Can't wear a shirt that says DONT DO DRUGS when wrote and played this amazing club cocaine dancing song .. ask Patrick Bateman
Huge New Order fan here....Can't say this was a stellar effort. Singing off key...getting the lyrics wrong....
Yeah I don't know if I would say the lyrics are wrong as much as I would say he kind of mixed the words from the 3rd verse into the 1st but he changed it . I didn't recognize it plus the acoustics are a bit gerbled . I always favored the Shep Pettibone remix of this masterpiece.
Um drugs, anyone?
"Love the beautiful wrinkles", Perry Ellis labels for linen clothes used to say, back in the 80s. Barney just sounds high. Whacked lol.
But then again they did play live as true musicians would.
If they're your lyrics they aren't wrong

Who peed in Peter's Cheerios?
Love it.
But nerves?
Not best ever sounded.
I'd want my money back
Malgrau mi preferas Joy Division, chi tiu kanzono estas tre bela kaj emociema. Dankon pro la kunprofito de tiel grava dokumento.
@You Tube No és español, hermano! És Esperanto!
@You Tube We use Esperanto in several countries. I'm brazilian and I talk about everything to people from more than 50 countries. Esperanto is easyfull language. Of course, big nations don't like this idea. Esperanto is language for future. Now, we have english and USA domination.
Hookie not looking too impressed during the first verse
He wasn't impressed with the bass contribution. Stephen Hague later confessed there should have been more bass. Still in my top 10 NO songs though
@@jonhaigh9530there's enough
Man why does this sound so out of tune lol
They are awful live
@@humanchannel7825 sometimes.
I love the song, but Bernard is really singing very very bad here; missing most of the notes - really sucks, altho it gets a little better in the second half. And the guitarguy is not singing along either. :-/
Welcome to New Order
@@Thunderchild-gz4gc 😂
@@PetaL72that's why we love them
@@PetaL72his singing is good enough. Technique he sounded much better thanks to a few singing lessons.
Peter not feeling it......
He's always been an arse
Problem is Bernie was never meant to be a singer and a band leader. To this day, he still can't manage.
