    Sliding doors scare me. Had one explode into a million pieces as my father and I were removing it to replace the roller wheels. I thought the entire frame was strong enough to prevent the glass from bending and shattering, but it's not. I got cuts on my face and hands and learned a valuable lesson to wear safety glasses, like yall did in the video. Your video gives me more confidence in tackling future repairs, as I had no prior knowledge on sliding doors. Thank you.

    My door doesn't seem to lift enough to clear the frame, I have a fridge coming and I can't get the thing out without destroying it 😫

    • @frugaldiy1
      @frugaldiy1  2 года назад

      David, first, make sure the rollers are in the fully retracted position. If they are, and it still won't lift out, use a pry tool at the bottom of the door to lift it out.

    • @davidp5841

      @@frugaldiy1 neither the door or the fixed panel come out, wound the wheels up but the the door is physically too big to fit over the track, I have no idea what brainiac assembled it the first time

    • @frugaldiy1
      @frugaldiy1  2 года назад

      The rollers at the bottom of the slider panel often bind over time and won't retract fully. That's what happened to us. You can use a large screw driver or flat bar to pry the slider up and out of the tracks. The stationary panel may just be stuck in place and need a little "persuasion" to slide over so you can pull it out.
