  • I was thinking about a few different patterns to post today, and although I had some new ones ready to go, I kept coming back to the beanie I made over the summer. It’s thick and warm, and I can’t get over the looked of the raised ribbing!

    Thank you, 😊 nice&simple. I finished my hat 😁, but I finish mine with sl row because we started with hdc row at the beginning, so to match the pattern when we fold and sew both sides, the next row should be sl row. It works beautifully and looks seamless.

    I am a watcher and rarely comment, but I had to say the suggestion to turn your work to see back loop better is so on point. I listened but was still doing it old school, but once turned the work stitch is so easy to see.

    if you are using the SAME yarn as in the video and crochet with more tension ( tighter stitches) , then either use a larger hook than an 8mm and / or chain more than 18 chains ....I have small adult head and this was more like a little skull cap , it did not cover even the tops of my ears , the ribbing was very dense and well defined but it was small , i gave it to a 4 year old & yes i used Bernat softee chunky yarn

    It would have been beneficial for newbies to see exactly how you joined the seam! Js

    I wish you would have shown how you sewed the sides together. That would’ve helped.

      all you do is fold the left and right sides together like your going to zip them up, you see that the links match up with the opposite side of the material and you simply do a "Shoe-Lace" type of join

    Very nice clear tutorial! I think I'll have to undo some of mine, the ribbing is not as even.

    What is the weight of the yarn? 5? 6? And what size head will this hat fit? Many beanie tutorials give a dimension. For example 22”-24”

    • @ArchPendragon
      @ArchPendragon 3 года назад +2

      typically what I did was just wrap it around my head as I was making the rows. so I could get a good idea of what type of fit I wanted. You can also go back through the bottom border and crochet a single crochet or half double 2 times around the bottom to give it a bordered edge type of feel that you can fold up if you want.

    This is like the 5th pattern that I've looked at. I've only made afghan up to now. My question is how to count the rows being that they are ribbed?

    I was trying this with a size 5.5 crochet bc it was the biggest size I have at the moment and I noticed how wrong I was with it bc when skipped to the end of the vid, it was not long enough to be on my head lol

    Explanation wasn't clear at all. You rushed through the end and after all the work was done jow do I finish it. How did you saw it. With a needle or a slip stich with a hook??

      @@ShehlaAhmed Why did you switch and not tell us? Why did you recommend an 8 if that's not what you were going to use? Any reason why you didn't include that in your answer? It's confusing.
