Ok, I understand how to hook up the drum kit to the computer...you mentioned hooking up a music source to the Aux-in...this allows you to mix the drum sounds with the music...so my question is this - when mixing the music and the drums and listening through your headphones, does the mix go to the computer? Or, how do you have "only" the drums go to the computer without the music? Hope I didn't confuse you...
Hey! no not confused at all. I no longer have this setup but from what I can remember is, when I used my recording software (Audacity) I was able to record the drum track track and the song at the SAME time on different tracks. So both the drums and song goes to my computer! I was able to hear both my drums and song because my headphones were connected to my m-audio interface. The interface was like the middleman. The drums and music would go through the interface then straight into my computer. Therefore I was able to record everything perfectly! Hope this really helps!
How do you split the drum kit tracks? How do you like put your snare bass and toms and hi hats and cymbals on like different tracks if you can help please? Thank you
Hi Holly! I actually no longer have my interface or drums but the one I was using was a $100 m-audio interface at the time. I have heard the Scarlett red or red Scarlett interfaces are very nice and promising. I think they range from $200-$300 (or more). I hope this sorts helps! Keep up the covers as well
Thank you so much! This helped me out a lot!! I will be getting an interface in about a week so I needed to know how to use it lol.

I don't split, it's all one track. If I had an acoustic kit it would have been much easier to do that.
Creationsofb OK thanks
Could you please recommend a good interface (not too pricey)? Thanks
