    Emily is mature way, way beyond her years, has her own sound and such a soothing voice. And its so crystal clear that you never need a word sheet to follow along. She lives for the song when she sings, knows how to get deep inside it, and gives the song exactly what it needs. There's no one I'd rather listen to more than Emily.

    Emily is tops for me, she's recorded over 100 covers here on RUclips and about 6 which she has written herself and not one of them is anything but superb!
    She's got such a wide range to her voice which makes it possible to choose such a wide genre of songs. I just love what she is doing and at 14 is truly remarkable!
    She accompanies herself well on piano and guitar, WOW what a future I can see for her Bravo young lady!

    I saw Gary Brooker in concert about 20 years ago and Emily is truly amazing you should watch her perform Eric Carmen's (I also saw him in concert) "All by myself" and I love Eric but Emily's version is better in my opinion!! Talent like Emily rarely comes around! I'm 72 and through sheer serendipity I watched her do "Across the universe" and that was over a year ago and I've been watching Emily Linge videos everyday for over a year and I watch music videos at least 4 hours everyday and without exception every one of her many videos is a joy to watch!!

    a very well known song in a new dress. that dress fits like a taylor made one, i'd say.
    have you ever been seasick? that line in the song came to mind and i would say, if you ever feel sea sick, you don't do much else than being seasick. we had ocassionally bind people aboard to the mast to prevent them from drowning themselves to death because they felt so seasick they wanted to die

    The Miller's Tale is a part of the Canterbury Tales (Geoffrey Chaucer) from around 1400. Now how that fits the rest of the lyrics is still beyond me, but that's where it came from.

    Watch an interview with Emily. Her normal speaking voice is interesting. She was born and has been brought up in Dubai. Her mother is English and her father is Norwegian. Emily pronounces some words with an English accent that mirrors her mother but other words come out with a distinctive Scandinavian lilt.

    Quite a beautiful version and well sung by Emily but I have to agree with Mike. It's impossible to do it better than PROCOL HARUM. Gary Brooker's soulful voice and piano with organist Matthew Fisher's church-like accompaniment is unbeatable.

    • @MrDaryca
      @MrDaryca 2 года назад +1

      It's actually pointless to compare her voice to Gary Brooker's, apples and oranges, but she sings it beautifully and conveys the feelings so well.

    • @stevegordon8474
      @stevegordon8474 2 года назад

      @@MrDaryca So you think Emily has an apple voice while Gary has an orange voice. No wonder you have difficulty comparing what is essentially just two voices.

    • @MrDaryca
      @MrDaryca 2 года назад +2

      @@stevegordon8474 I have absolutely no problem comparing it, both are beautiful, one belongs to a girl, the other to a mature man. I like both fruits/voices the same :)

    • @stevegordon8474
      @stevegordon8474 2 года назад

      @@MrDaryca Well, I'm glad we cleared that up because you seemed to think we couldn't compare 2 voices when it really just comes down to subjective taste as to which we may each prefer. To use your own terminology, you like the "apple" voice of Emily as much as Gary's "orange" voice whereas I prefer the intensity of Gary's voice over that of Emily. There doesn't seem to be any objective truth over what we individually like as what we like is particular to each of us, though we may agree to like the same thing occasionally if our tastes are similar.

    • @MrDaryca
      @MrDaryca 2 года назад

      @@stevegordon8474 I think it would make sense to compare two tenor voices, but in case of Emily and Gary we can only compare their interpretations. So we are probably talking about the same.

    One amazing young lady. At just fourteen years old Emily is so talented, and what a voice? Can you do a reaction to her cover of The Rose, which the writer Amanda McBroom praised Emily for plus Emily's own personal piano solo which Amanda said she would have to "steal." By the way, Emily's surname Linge, is pronounced "LINGAY." Take care, Mick.

      Hi Mick! I didn’t realize that you commented on this one, or I would have said howdy at the time. I like this couple. I think they’re good people. I sent them an email back when they were reviewing this. I also just sent them a link on Mother’s Day to the radio interview she just did with Mark at the Dubai Eye. Em explained how to say her voice to him because he was saying it wrong as well. 😊 She said that you pronounce the ‘e’ at the end of her surname like you pronounce the ‘e’ in egg.

      @@bradtaggart5509 Hi Brad. Yes, Mike and Ginger, they are quite an interesting couple and can only help Emily fulfil her dreams. I actually mis-spelt the pronunciation of Emily's surname ..... @@michaelcollins4038 Good morning Mick (it’s morning here in Montana) You’re right about her name. The more people say it, right or wrong, the more she gets recognition. I’m glad you asked them to review The Rose. That was quite the feather in Em’s cap to have the songwriter not only compliment her, but say that she was going to swipe Em’s piano solo to use herself on stage. I know that you don’t use Instagram, but when Emily covered ‘Girls Like Me’ and posted it, the songwriter and performer who wrote it, Mary Chapin Carpenter, commented and complimented Em on her performance. The very next song she covered from there, was CCR’s ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’, and yet again the songwriter and performer came on her post and complimented her on her performance of his song.

      @@bradtaggart5509 Thanks Brad. No I don't use Instagram but I have heard both songs on RUclips and are excellent, and it is good to know both songwriters appreciate Emily's covers. Perhaps you can also ask Mike and Ginger to assess The Rose. They might take more notice coming from a fellow American??? I sent my song to Emily via Christine's email address (which you gave me) three months ago but I have not had a reply. Oh, well? Take care.

      @@michaelcollins4038 I believe that they are Canadian Mick, though I’m not 100% sure. And more specifically, I think they are west coast, Vancouver, or perhaps a bit east from there like Calgary,Alberta. I asked them about that in the first email I had sent them about Emily, but I haven’t received a response yet. I am only basing my guess in the western part of Canada because of their accents. I was born and raised in Canada Mick, and moved to the USA when I was 18, and have gone back and forth throughout my life, living in both countries.
