I lived in Sheffield for a number of years as a young lad in the 90’s. I worked as a sales guy at PC World. Naz came in one day and I sold him a computer. We spoke about his family and mine and he invited me outside in the car park to sit in his convertible Bentley GT with a PlayStation 2 installed in the front console. But when we spoke, in the store; I remember saying that his angles and dips were incredible and that I couldn’t see how he got power punches from them. Then I remember looking at the size of his hands and thinking,, one clip from those at any angle, for most of us is going to be felt….just genetics, but great memories… he was a very kind and humble guy x
Great times to be young in the 90s with Tyson, Nas ,Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, Julian Jackson ,Benn, Eubank ,Watson, and so many more like Holyfield, Bowe ,Lewis & so on,as I said great times to be young as the boxing was electrifying back then .
nazz,,for a short career it was an epic one...he is the hardest puncher in feader, weigt history,is not just when named, knocking guys out he was excited,,all eyes on him I'm always his number one fan (barera,Who) I'm Mexican Filipino before the pacman there was Prince nazeen named my best power puncher boxer I'm happy to live it in Prince nazeen hamed era

you've got no nose for a reason twat. He killed himself to make the weight by the last HALF HOUR and had a broken hand. With Ingle still in his corner he'd have wiped the floor. end
@@dandan4066 LMAO!! How do you explain the fact he didn't touch Barrera? It's funny how he fought other inferior boxers with that so called " broken" hand and had no problems knocking them out! His downfall or mistake was accepting to fight a TRUE professional boxer and after getting a taste of fighting one of the big boys he wanted no more part of them so he retired!!
Round 2 against Alicea. Thats the best head movement/elusiveness ive ever seen from any boxer. And the finish was exceptional. Went to his head a bit but being that young, being that good you cant really blame him.
After his fight against Steve Robinson in September 1995, where he won the WBO title, Naseem broke 3 fingers in his right hand, which dogged him from then onwards. It obviously led to his depression, weight gain and lack of interest in the sport. He lost his prime that night. He was a featherweight boxer who generated power in his punches like a super middleweight, which is Brendan Ingle's style - Using the hips and footwork for defence and offence.
anyone says anything bad about the prince is a obvious HATER.. what a talent and the arrogance obviously a act... hence the retirement after first loss.. the act was gone, broken, finished ..The persona beat so much as the man.. naseem the legend
سبحان الله العظيم الذي وهبه هذه القدرة والقوة والارادة والسرعة والحكمة لله الفضل من قبل ومن بعد سبحانك يالله ما اكرمك يا ذو الجلال والإكرام والحمد لله رب العالمين
Probably not. He was in training when that was filmed, in between his fight with Molina and Boom Boom I think. Also, at least then, he was known to be a devout Moslem who didn't drink. Not that it would shock me, he wouldn't be the 1st or last religious guy to be full of shit behind closed doors, but there were no stories of him drinking even when he was publicly hanging out in bars and acting up before his 1st kid was born. He did get popped for weed in prison in 2007, but claimed it was 2nd hand. LOL.
I enjoyed every minute with naz and all the lads that day in the ring hope that he's healthy and good just found this and it's brilliant to look bk at that day in jail god bless everyone ❤
Some irony...they show Naz in prison, and say "but unlike Mike Tyson, it's just as a charitable guest". 10 years later he'd be there as an inmate. Also, he said in an article right about 1996, that he'd probably choose to be home and cancel a fight if his wife was going into labor. But he missed his 3rd child's birth while behind bars. Just goes to show, never believe your own hype because it can all come crashing down in a blink.
And one more thing, that is sad, which is that it was one year later that he and Brendan Ingle broke apart, so much for him being like a 2nd father, and the promise that they would never ever break up.
I Loved To Watch Naz !!! Fight Cool Dude BUT...Beating Kelly Was Not A Great Feat...Kelly Had A Glass Chin & No Heart!!! Barrera - Morales- Marquez & A. Nelson Would Have Pummeled...& Put Him Sleep!! Good Nite Sweet Prince!!! For Real’s...Mate
sure the boy had talent but it becomes so clear in this documentary that he was fighting nobodies...... and his own mouth destroyed him, if he had been a little bit less arrogant he would have got up from his defeat like any other boxer. Karma knocked this guy on his ass
InvertedbraiN1, how can you say he was fighting nobody's? He beat 2 World Champions and a former World Champion! Steve Robinson, Tom Johnson and 4 or 5 more were good fighters, he would have beaten Barrera if he hadn't had the break up with Brendan Ingle, a broken hand and the struggle to make the weight for the fight. The match making is down to the promoters, so the Azumah Nelson fight may never have happened because Nelson would have wanted too much money, Wayne McCullough wouldn't even fight Naz. As for the arrogance part, this was only his showman side, just like Ali back in the day, he was a nice guy away from the cameras, met him a good few times. Come on man, give the guy some due respect.
Rocky fish ya he lost to one of the best in the world no shame in that he also came in to camp off an injury and overweight... that 1 loss on his record is the only knock on him.. he was arguably the hardest hitting featherweight of all time hes never been knocked out and he was boxings biggest draw at the time he put the lighter divisions on the map!! What have u accomplished in your life to call someone a coward? U just sound like a hater nobody claimed he was the g.o.a.t. but he sure as hell entertained people and boxing misses him
3:00 - “In the summer of 96 Naz went to prison, just for a charity gig….you understand?!” In the summer of 06 Naz went to prison again, just for dangerous driving that left the victim with fractures to every major bone in his body!!
in answer to wendalboy this fool is not in the hof because he never beat a fighter that wasnt past his best the featherweight division of that time was bereft of talent all thegreat fighters were at junior featherweight until berrera stepped up followed by marquez and morales that is why he retired rather than face them

Zain hussain after reading a lot of these comments both pro and con I believe the prince deserves to be in the hall of fame . Yes he ducked some people but he had talent and was special. The prince in his prime would have beaten Berrera. Berrera was great though and was a champion. Prince didn't train enough or take Berrera seriously and it cost him. I think his style would beat Floyd Mayweather Jr in his prime.
Where in the name of God do they find the guys for this fool to fight, his fav phrase is , ( I'm not making any excuses but ) he's a self absorbed opinionated prick , who was whipped by the first decent pro who was not past his best , although Berrera was not in his prime , he did not need to be , to beat this cheater , who had been under wrapping his hands for years , it was like been hit by bare knuckles , until he was caught 3 times and officially warned before the Berrera fight who's team had been warned and demanded his hands be rechecked ???
