thank you for having this step-by-step. Guys, the main thing is that you need the point to be on the closed end. I’d try this out with small patches of parchment before going full-size. If you’re good with tracing, that’s cool, but personally I’m not into having to hold the flimsy paper up and cutting it out from therr.
I've watched 3 other videos (including a Martha Stewart one) and this is the ONLY one that explained how to do this in a way I understood- everyone else rushed
If you use a stanley blade or very sharp knife its much faster than the fold or tracing, put base plate on paper, press down firmly, cut around edge , done
I faced the same problem until I watched this video. The important part for me is when folding into the first triangle (1.50), make sure the pointed end is where the closed end is. Hope this helps.
Would you please show how to line the sides of a springform pan (round and square) and also, how to properly line a rectangular or square pan? I am new to baking. Thank you.
Is there parchment paper aging and quality? Mine was super intent on curcling back into a cylinder during and after the process. Maybe i should buy new paper
Can parchment paper go in the bottom of a toaster ocen, in place of foil. Granddaughter, cooks like 6" individual 🍕? Trying to get rid o foil now that I find it isnt healthy, amazing how much at almost a 75, that I rely on foil as much.
I use this on all my cakes. You mentioned you use it for cheesecakes. How do you remove it from the cheesecake? The cakes I turn upside down when removing from the pan but not the cheesecake. Please advice ( hobby baker here 😁)
@@littlespoonfarm Lol, well said. All the other videos I watched for lining tins are too fast and don't explain about which side to fold from. Consquently, people were having problems ending up with two semi circles of cut paper. Great video. I shall be using your tip when I line my tins. Thanks.
7 years later, and it's still helpful! Thanks for the tip. This will save me so much time

That was absolute magic
you made this so simple, when others made it way too complicated
just use the bottom of the pan to trace a circle. When cutting, cut slightly inside of the line you traced. Perfect fit.
but tracing then cutting along the line takes so much time...whereas here you just snip once across.
Yeah this follow the circle thing worked for me... While this technique which she have showen in this vdo didn't worked for me

What springform pan brands do you recommend?
Which side up which side down?
Thank you
parchment paper n BUTTER paper r same??'plz rep
I think butter paper is wax paper. It's not the same
I ended up to two semi circles...
Mine come out looking like half moons.
Why not just clamp the rectangular paper between base and ring and cut around?
15 sec vid
Can i grease d locking tin
I’ve tried this 5 times and my circle comes out chopped in half 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Skip the talk 1:26
Seriously? Fold it twice. Use a pencil to trace a quarter circle of the pan bottom. Cut. Done. OGM, 4:11 of my life I will never get back.
Sam Tobia too bad you wasted another 2 minutes writing this comment. Take care!
