I was watching a baker using these type of liners and I thought I'd search 1st to see if there's a tutorial before I look to buy them. You didn't disappoint, so easy and so clearly explained, thank you so much!💖
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I was planning to make bigger cupcakes but the only available ready made liners in our place are 3ounce- liners. This is my solution!
Brilliant instruction! Showed this to one of my kids who complained that she couldn't make muffins for her sleepover because we're out of liners and the shops are already closed. Also: it is sooo nice to see beautiful nails without any bits of plastic glued to them. Double inspiration for my teenager. Thanks!
2:08 "It always feels a lil' kinky the first time you do it" 2:48 "Massage it from the top to the bottom" 3:07 "Give it a good rub" 4:05 "The flaps are just humongous..."
Thank you for this video. The first time I watched it I couldn't watch it with the sound on because of my location. Your hands were so expressive! 2nd time through with sound your instructions were great. Thanks. Love learning new things in baking
For those who can't find a tapered cup to fit their muffin trays, I was able to do this by drawing a circle with a compass that matches the diameter of the bottom of the muffin slot and then followed her instructions on how to fold the four creases by hand. Thank you so much for sharing this @iconicake! You are lovely. :)
Thank you for your simple and clear instructions. If your technique is followed exactly, the result is very nice. I looked at other videos on the topic and yours gives the best result.
I was just looking to buy some of these cupcake liners and I stumbled on to your tutorial…. I’m so glad I found your site… You did a great job explaining and demonstrating each step…I can’t wait to try it out… thank you so much…
Thank you, this is so easy and so much better using parchment paper while the commercially available cases are such a waste where much of the muffins and cakes stick to them. Great idea - keep it up!!
The easy method if you are not really a perfectionist, is to eyeball the paper over the glass, then put another glass over it. If you have sturdy plastic beakers (used for picnics and around pools) then even better.
Having a blast with this. Just made two if them....feel like a kid again doing crafts! Got the right size glass at a thrift shop. Thanks so much for sharing so clearly your diy guide. I've always thought muffins at the coffee shop look so beautiful in these papers and enjoyed peeling down the top to dive in for a bite. Looking forward to my first batch of muffins done in these tulip papers!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’m so glad you enjoyed making them, I love making them myself because they do give off bakery vibes! Enjoy ❤️❤️❤️
I highly recommend this procedure if you want to make yourself absolutely CRAZY! First, there’s the issue of the parchment paper, itself, that has been on a roll ad Infinitum and won’t lie flat as you attempt to measure and cut it. Secondly, as equally frustrating is attempting to fit the buggers in the muffin tin! Forget it! I’ve got more worthwhile projects to do with my time. I’ll continue to buy the cupcake papers and put my efforts and attention on making the better quality muffins! Hope this helps.
Actually, the mission is for gratification not madness 😂 Firstly, it depends on the parchment you use. Yes, if it’s rolled - you will need to roll it the opposite direction to make the paper less curly just like any paper that’s curled. Secondly, if you followed the first step mentioned above, having them fit in the muffin tin wouldn’t be an issue if you were using a cup that fits comfortably in it. If you’d like to keep purchasing cupcake liners and focus on making better quality muffins - that’s not a bad idea either! The muffins need to be the star of the show after all! 🧁✨
I use an old quilting rotary cutter to cut the 6-inch squares and use white parchment paper because that's what I have. Thank you for showing me how to fold them.
thanks for giving me a proper tutorial. i just watched another who just jammed the paper into the pan & it was such a mess and ppl were commenting with compliments. i was gobsmacked 😂
You are a born genius. Thank you for your natural touch of art with my best wishes for all that is best for the admirable craftsmanship you do and share. God Bless always
thank you for this video‼️ i’m from japan and grew up doing origami (folding paper) so with your explanation, turns out making this was easier than i thought!😊 easy but look elegant 🫶🌹 i love it. i hope you have happy holidays❤
So creative you are. I am so impressed. Thank you so much cos I will no longer need to share my wallet with the paper cup manufacturers anymore. Two thumbs up to you!!
I really like this! Muffins come out of the paper so much better this way than store bought packs with tiny pleats. They tend to tear apart the muffin when you remove it. But, you need a static pic for 15 + seconds at the end, so your thumbnails don't obscure seeing the end of your video.
@@Iconicake I wouldn't say 'messed up'. I'd say, 'Who knew?!" Darn RUclips doesn't tell you the details! 🙂 Good video! Thanks for the tip! Now my muffins [& cupcakes] don't get torn apart!!!
What size paper squares would you use for a muffin pan ~ not a cupcake pan ~ a muffin pan? Thank you for showing us how to fold them! You are fun to watch! Great for when you discover you’re out of liners after mixing up the recipe!
It would really depend because muffin pans can come in a variety of sizes 🙈 my suggestion is would be to find a cup that fits comfortably in your muffin pan and start with a parchment paper that is 12x12 inches. It sounds massive but if your muffin liners are too tall, you can cut down the length then unfold the sheet to find the approximate square of the parchment you need. This way, you can cut out all the other squares in the correct size without having to waste paper from constantly trimming of the tops! I hope that helps!
Thank you for this tutorial I will not be buying those cup cake liners anymore, awesome share, thumbs up from my small kitchen here, more power to your channel!

"The first time you do anything it feels a bit kinky" 🤔 that's the phrase of the year!
Hahaha I’ll never live this one down 🙈🤣😂
Can i use watercolor/acrylic on the outside of the paper or would it be toxic?
Parchment paper is waterproof, therefore there is no way to paint on it. Acrylic paint on the other hand is not foodsafe and could also potentially cause fire. Best to stick with just parchment paper and decorate the actual cake itself :)
