I have them, after trying 4 times, I finally got them on right. I used the factory retainers. For the fronts I pulled every fender liner pin I could find to work with the material more and that finally allowed me to get a pin through on the bottom.
glad to hear you had success !! :) I wish these kits were easier to install .. it's insane that we need to buy a part and still have to innovate our own solutions :X
I totally understand your frustration. I purchase a different brand for my Gen6 Camaro. The front guards came with aluminum rivets requiring holes in the fiber wheel well. They didn't work for crap! I ended up drilling the fender's lip in three places.
I got the zl1 addon guards and i like them except the rear, the fact there is nothing holding the top part on but tape doesnt work, the tape just comes off
not sure what was going through my head haha I saw something I hadn't seen before and my mind melted for a brief moment :O love your comments because you always catch the good times :D haha
This reminds me of my continued issue with *Tire Rack*, regarding a rear set of wheels 15x8 and tires P245/60R-15 that I was told would be a 'guaranteed fit*. Well, it wasn't a guaranteed fit because it rubbed and I had to modify my rear suspension make it work. If they did not guarantee the fit I wouldn't have an issue but, since they guaranteed the fit I feel I should be reimbursed the damage tire.
there are always going to be "problematic" companies unfortunately :X we all just need to stay vocal with each other and always share experiences so these companies don't get away with nonsense !!
Now that they have been on the car for a while, how did the tape hold up? I feel like that would give up over time. I don't like the Tape design other then that they are awesome looking.
Where these the deluxe or standard ones? I just ordered a set of the deluxe for my 392 hoping they work out because they are a bit thicker than the standard.
Exactly!!...Look at that car!! Just Nasty!! I ordered those last Friday knowing the others wasn't working correctly. Thanks for posting the new ones and how to install. But that one pin how did you modify or could you just reuse the original?
WB that one pin is just a longer push pin I had laying around from my strut tower bar install. a hardware store, home depot or anything like that should have a regular pin like that but if you push HARD enough the ones in the kit paired with the stock ones should be amazing and work fine
lol that's not old bud lol you'll get it !! do you have an instagram started yet for your vehicle ?? it's great for posting the pictures, sharing with other people and even meeting people who share YOUR interests :)
I found a forum once that listed the following Trim Retainer clips .. you can get them on amazon or ebay I believe but the part number is #454910B and they are called GM Panel Trim Retainer Black (mine came in a pack of 20) and that's what I used since it seemed like it was more "grabby" .. I feel like longer and wider clips are needed to properly grab the fender wall behind the splash guard .. they clips sent with many of these kits are too thin and not long enough to give enough room to expand the back end far enough .. a combination of these clips and the stock clips worked for me but as I mentioned I had overhang and that killed the deal :( seems like it was only me that had that overhang issue though lol my luck
HonestlyOCD Thanks again. I picked up the clips from my local parts store and some servo tape from the hobby shop. I don't think they will be falling off anytime soon. I always appreciate your videos and opinions. Keep them coming!!
it's all your fault!! Bought Jlt splash guard because of you!! I lost my passenger side when it rained. Haha. I'm with you it being to thick and I got the new version and added my double sided tape. Was a b*tch to install with their cheap clips
sorry !! LOL trust me, if I had known I wouldn't have even bought them haha I got caught up in the fact that they "looked cool" and ignored my gut screaming not to buy these .. I ended up selling the JLTs to an instagram follower but I warned him beforehand lol hopefully he has some success because I certainly didn't :O
Put 2 on and "THESE ARE THE BEST!!!!" LMAO. You crazy mane! 😂😂😂 yea definetly ordering mines. Tried of tire shine slinging all over the quarter panels. 👍✌
Thanks for doing this video. I had a different brand (might have been JLT, I forget) for my 14 Charger R/T and I had the same experience as you. The clips and tape were such garbage I just ended up not even using them. I just checked ZL1 Addon's site and they actually still have these for the 14 Chargers. Ordered and done.
Well for over 200 bucks I don't think thats a affordable option. Plus you don't get just the rock guards. Maybe they should just promote them alone. So if you know them suggest that
I checked them out lol the splash guards they sell are a LOT more money and I'm sure they give better protection but I didn't really like that look for me my paint isn't aggressive enough to pull that off :O that kind of goes with the rest of their kits too .. they are awesome kits for that aggressive look and styling but on Octane Red I feel a sleek look would work best :) you'll hopefully see within the next month what's coming and I for sure want to hear back from you on whether or not you think I did a decent job :) thanks for the suggestions !!
JLT splash guards sucks, I just tore apart my new 18 hellcat and these things suck, the clips are junk they don't sit flush, waste of my money. UPDATE: Emailed JLT and expressed my frustration in their product. JLT replayed and after having these splash guards sitting in my garage for the past few months JLT has offered to take them back and refund my money 100%. At least they stand by their products.
Burnin' through mommy's money awfully quick there sonny. Just kiddin'....nice ride...though my SRT in Billet is nicer and I didn't waste my time with JLT. Brotherhood Of Muscle...
Hey can you give an update on how these have held up? I'm about to grab all four for my 392 scat charger
I have them, after trying 4 times, I finally got them on right. I used the factory retainers. For the fronts I pulled every fender liner pin I could find to work with the material more and that finally allowed me to get a pin through on the bottom.

At 6:40 I can tell if you were going to loose it because of those counter sync holes then realized what they were?
not sure what was going through my head haha I saw something I hadn't seen before and my mind melted for a brief moment :O love your comments because you always catch the good times :D haha

My front factory pins will not go in with the guards. How?
Now that they have been on the car for a while, how did the tape hold up? I feel like that would give up over time. I don't like the Tape design other then that they are awesome looking.
Only clip that went back in all the way was the bottom inner one for me
Still watching video and love it so far!
thanks for the support !!
Compared the the Rally Armor mudflaps that I put on my STi, these look like a breeze. Ordering mine soon.
Where these the deluxe or standard ones? I just ordered a set of the deluxe for my 392 hoping they work out because they are a bit thicker than the standard.
JLT guards on my SRT Challenger were a breeze, I see they fixed a couple issues you were having before, great video.
Are these the standard ones, or deluxe?
i got a set of front guards for cheap. only installed once for a few mins.. lol
those fit a challenger sxt too right?
Exactly!!...Look at that car!! Just Nasty!! I ordered those last

thanks a lot for the support !! glad it worked out for you :D
Buy your splashguards from Mopar. Their pricy but they fit right the first time.
it's all your fault!! Bought Jlt splash guard because of you!! I lost my passenger side when it rained. Haha. I'm with you it being to thick and I got the new version and added my double sided tape. Was a b*tch to install with their cheap clips

ZL1 add-ons front ones are garbage they got rained on once and they are already separated and coming away from the fender. Fucking bullshit
Burnin' through mommy's money awfully quick there sonny. Just kiddin'....nice ride...though my SRT in Billet is nicer and I didn't waste my time with JLT.
Brotherhood Of Muscle...
FalcondRippr you wouldn't have mentioned "mommy's money" if you were kidding in the first place lol
Relax...even though he's got the nicest Charger you can get I still like to make fun of him. Too bad he's not my little brother...
