    ACS or ZL1Addons rock guards.. What's your preference or what do you run??

    Thanks for this vid. Just got my ZL1 and became aware of the rock pitting problem. This vid leaned me towards the ZL1. Thanks again, very informative!

    Aside from the front splitter, whole front bumper, whole hood back to the windshield, front fenders and A-pillars, I did PPF behind the front tires from the door line down including the side skirts and behind the rear tires. I love it because you can't even tell or see it on the car, it adds tremendous protection and I honestly don't know if I'd like my Camaro to have "mud flaps"...AKA rock guards.😖😫. MAYBE someday, but right now I just can't fathom mud flaps on a sports car...🙃😂🤣. Props to you and those that can though!! 😁👍👊. Great video also!!! If the day comes when or IF I decide to get them, I'll definitely come back to this video! 👍👍👍👊👍

      Haha, thank you! I don't mind them as they don't like.. hang down a foot below the car, ie Subaru style. They just protrude a tad from the fender and hang down like an inch, and they curve with the fender contour and help deflect stuff tossed from the tires. I also have car PPF'd in all of the "impact zones", such as the hood, front end, splitter, side skirts, etc. I now need to get the carbon fiber stuff PPF'd and ceramic coated :D

      @D3RPZILLA Agreed 👍. ESPECIALLY about the Subaru style ones!!! 🤢🤮. Yeah. They're not THAT bad... maybe they'll grow on me at some point. 😁. I also believe in the ceramic coating! 🙌👍. My ZL1, Trail Boss, and my wife's Traverse are all ceramic coated. 😁😁

    I’ve got the same and I agree with you on the screws for the rear. I wish they would’ve put the hex head on instead of the Phillips. I see them stripping out or getting stuck in there and being a pain in the ass in the future.

    • @D3RPZILLA
      @D3RPZILLA  Год назад +2

      Yeah, exactly! The philips head screws is just.. lazy, lol.. They def should have gone with something better, lol. Optimal would of been the same t15 screws but a longer version so it looks the same, or, some 7mm hex heads with a larger washer type base to bite into the rock guard a little stronger. The washer they provided seems almost pointless, lol.

    I just bought a used 2020 satin gray ZL1 a few months ago, and I was floored by price of ACS rock gaurds! Only reason I even considered them is because of the slight gap for the rear with the ZL1 Add-ons version, but $400 is ridiculous. Even though you have aftermaerket rear diffuser, Seeing how small the gap will be for rear is all the convincing I need to go with ZL1Addons! Thanks bro!

      No problem man, glad to help! I've been completely happy with the zl1addons rock guards thus far. They still look good and are holding up nicely. Haven't noticed any gap issues really overall and one could always use some black silicone if needed.

    Great video, brother! Beautiful Camaro and sorry about the highway incident. Just ran into this video because I bought the same rock guard and haven't installed them yet. Did you have any fear about the clips on the front set scratching into the paint and creating a rust issue?
    Also, what side marker set did you get? They look really nice!

    • @D3RPZILLA
      @D3RPZILLA  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! :) And no, no issues with the rock guards or any problems with the paint from the clips. I will need to pull the front rock guard off sometime soon to swap out my carbon fiber side skirt cover and will double check but I think it will be fine. As for the side markers, they are Diode Dynamics, amzn.to/3tJlOI6. There are cheaper options but Diode Dynamics is worth the money, IMO :)

    Yo man hope ur doing well? question- for zl1 with supercharger and u being someone that is trying to keep the car in its best condition , what is ur rule of thumb for when it’s allowed out the garage in the regards of temp?(obv tires r useless until 60degrees outside, but more so my question is curious ab ur opinions on the mechanical parts of the car and the under hood/ under carriage itself and what u think is the A OKAY to be like “it’s prob fine to drive , is there a certain temp that u say it’s fine ??, like an example response to this confusing question would be like I don’t take the car out no matter what if it’s raining”, I don’t take it out under 32 no matter what”etc

    • @D3RPZILLA
      @D3RPZILLA  Год назад +1

      Thanks man! Doing good, hope you are as well!
      As for me... Main thing I avoid is it being to cold. Summer tires and cold (like under 40F or so) is bad news.. unsafe and it can drastically reduce tire life with cracking and other issues.
      I also TRY to avoid rain but have driven in some a few times when it hits unexpectedly, lol. I don't mind the rain to much unless it's super strong rain... but the side effect means car will be dirty as f and I'll need to clean it again soon :-/ Def don't blast through some big ass puddles or anything, haha.
      The big thing is to avoid road salt if you live in a region that salts the roads before/during/after snow, so if you must drive on the road once the snow melts and it warms a bit and there is salt residue is to be sure to wash the car top, bottom, and underside as good as you can to make sure no salt lingers.
      Hope that helps! :D

      @D3RPZILLA  Год назад +1

      @@c4sare4kiddos no problem! And yeah.. sand or salt, pick your poison! Lol. Def if you plan to keep it long term, if you haven't already, look into getting paint protective film on at least all of the impact areas and ceramic coating on top :D Helps a ton in preventing the day to day rock chips and what not especially on your bumper. You are right about the sad extinction of cars like these, sadly :*( I'm sure within 20 years or so it will be like in the movie Minority Report with the cars. I bet they can just lock them down during the next quarantine, cap the top speed to something like 85, cap the max acceleration, and give us manual control only on rare occasions, lol.
