People referred these places because they thought they were good to them.

Not sure if it's inbreeding or what but the food so far has been "sack", only thing worse is the driving out here. I know I'm from the capital of "road rage" but DAMN! 😂 In my experience there's some pretty good oriental food and some decent Mexican food but the BQ is lacking, unless you know someone that known someone that cooks in the backyard.

I would give Heaterz in Alton IL a try if you’re around the area, it’s just across the bridge from STL. The building is in kind of rough shape imo, not terribly though(it’s an old building, it was a place called Mini Coral before) but I personally love their jumbo chicken tenders & sidewinder fries. I usually get em Nashville mild(I believe the mild is more of a rub or something, but the hot is a sauce) and I get some of the stl spicy bbq, & house sauce on the side for dipping lol. I haven’t tried a whole lot of their other stuff yet though.

Come to Jacksonville Florida. Check out the Soul Food Bistro. They have a good ole oxtail dinner. Also go to Saint Augustine to Harrys Seafood. Their food is off the hook. Both places I promise you will love.❤❤❤
Check out a place called SweetArt Cafe. Owned and operated by black couple that have put in a lot of blood sweat and tears. I’m not even much a sweets person but I’ll binge myself into diabetes if I lived closer. She’s a hell of a baker and he’s a badass artist and their place has a good vibe.
Try creole with a splash of soul. It’s in St. Louis. They have good soul and creole food. They also have this thing called soul food Sundays. You should give it a try before you leave
