Im so in love with the fact that canonically this man cant walk for shit. Like he will teleport even if hes a meter away. Like even the scan says hes just not built for walking. That is stupidly adorable, that mister superior alien race will instantly colapse if he goes for a light jog.

Kinda felt like a PTSD flashback
You know, Al-An's body is so expressive to make up for his obvious lack of capability to express how he feels vocally. During his explanation, aside from his body's natural color fade in and out, he continues to change color to show us just how he feels. At one point, when talking about how he failed to secure the containment by not following the directive, he flickers red for a brief moment. Makes you wonder if there was a heavy disagreement between Al-An and the one who issued the directive. Or if he's just angry with himself for being so stubborn at the time.
Or maybe red is regret or guilt

I love that he turns blue when waving at Robin
I prefer the concerned "No!" and Allan's calm "very well." when asked about the memories and them being friends. The whole thing felt more personal, like you were meeting a friend for the first time you'd been long distance communicating with. I'm not against how they're explaining the story in this game more directly but I definitely like the more intimate mood his awakening presented that brought about a sense of curiosity in what he really means to do next but also a sense of peace that he seems to actually be genuine.
He took time to make his explanation after saying strange things on our journey. I was scared that when I made his body, he would do something against me because I’m not useful anymore
@@JacobTheRandom I think everyone felt that, and the character immediately thinks that too and outright says it. It kinda established this "... You're... really a friend?" kinda moment too.
The fact that Al-an didn’t betray us is honestly nice

@@Genghis_Khan552Plus, even with the possibility of betrayal, Al-an’s been waiting for so long probably sitting with guilt and enough reflection to just act decent enough when there’s potential help.

If you think about it. Maybe the aliens are some how related to humans. What if they were like evolved from them or maybe interacted with them. Because how would the PDA know how to translate it perfectly with no struggle. Also they share similar looking bodies

You know.. I wonder if the reason why hes so adamant on her finishing his body BEFORE he tells the full story behind everything and what happened in the Disease Research Facility.. is because hes scared. He might be thinking "what if she stops building my body out of fear? Hatred for what I unleashed?" And good GOD I feel bad for him if so.
Okay, that makes a lot of sense actually. I read a fanfic from an author who preferred Robin to know the truth before they built his body so her trust in him was more established/stronger implied. Which is understandable because, the canon conversation where he confesses his mistake while his body was being built did feel pretty awkward even though it was understandable.
Edit: Both yours and that author’s perspectives are valid so, yeah.

This game was the perfect roller coaster of emotions. Unique in so many ways. I don't even know how many thousands of times i've immagined meeting an alien in my life, it is probably my first or second best desire. This game basically captured the moment so perfectly, it was just right, everything i wanted. I think i'll be dreaming of this scene my whole life. The design and tech is also exactly as i wanted, powerful, fast, efficient, resistant, immortal, cool, expressive, strange, different, feels far but not too much, actually could almost be realistic, and most importantly, he is big enough to give the best hugs in the galaxy. I wish i could get adopted by one. Only thing that is not perfect is that i would have made the upright part of the body smaller, since biologically speaking it would make no sense to be that high, unless it was genetically modified by them to be that way.
This really is a great game!! I have had a lot of fun with both releases though I did miss having all the crafting from the first one. Great effort and imagine this title being incredible with an A list budget

tbh I never wanted to interact with the Precursors. I loved the mystery behind them in the first game and how the more you investigated and explored, the more you learned about the history of what happened to them. The second game takes that all away by literally having a precursor explain everything to you.
Yeah the writing was not good. Nor was the witty quips being forced on me from my character, rather than my character being voiceless like Gordon Freeman, a vessel for myself.
And especially having to look at my own player model through the spy penguin to see the ape like player model. The original had an ape player model that you just never saw. It's playing into your own strengths.

I'm really happy Robin didn't berate Alan for the accident, she could tell he was desperate to find a cure and while his hypothesis was correct, the risk outweighed the reward and led to the disaster, no one is immune to mistakes, not even alien robot centaurs

I have no idea why no one answered after 1 year. But no, basically it's a sort of "save" of AL-AH. You can view it as a USB. Except that it floats and allows AL-AN to talk to Robin when she enters the facility
