    If your dm tells you cantrips aren’t spells so they can’t benefit from spell amplifiers just say that makes them an attack right, then pick sharpshooter.

      This is a great point

      Issue though the amplifier at 5th level says your artificer spells are effected not the stuff you get from other classes

    Been looking at playing an artificer artillerist that's a centaur named APC (Armored Personnel Centaur). Her turrets are strapped to the top of her back and she utilizes the cannons as turrets while casting spells with her free hands.

      Well that would be the most intimidating thing to fight ever. You'll send them running without firing a shot

    I’m playing a straight artificer - currently at level 6 and I went artillerist - and I really do like it. I had the idea from day one to multi with divine soul but once I learned more about the campaign & world our DM made it didn’t seem appropriate. I use protector cannon all the time and the 2 barbs & bladesinger love it! ;)
    Thanks for the videos, love your stuff!

      Artillerist is super fun for sure! The super reliable temp hp is really nice. Thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it!

    I generate a tiny Eldritch Cannon with legs so it can hang underneath the flying Homunculus Servant in the form of a quadcopter. This turns the Homunculus Servant into a helicopter gunship with the Eldritch Cannon firing downward from 15' or 20' altitude so that the Flamethrower Cannon has a 15'×15' square area of effect on the ground that can hit multiple enemies. If your DM allows, the small Homunculus Servant might be able to lift the Artificer (if a small creature like a Gnome or Halfling) by means of special straps or as a flying chair.

      You are living so far in the future, it's insane

      There is a great build guide for an artillerist that explains the concept of homonculus carrying the tiny turret and why it is plausible.

    Very nice builds! I liked your wife's build a lot as well!
    Can you elaborate more on the gunslinger/artillerist build?

      @DapperSnapperGaming  2 года назад +2

      Thank you! With Gunslinger, you can add the Repeating Shot Infusion so that you never have to buy ammo again. It also makes it a +1 weapon and you can use all that extra money you saved to build bigger and better guns. I would go level 1 fighter, 2 levels of Artificer and then from there it is really personal preference. I would probably lean more into Fighter myself.

    While you can get some good dpr with an artillerist, my next artillerist is support/utility with very little dpr.

      It is a versatile subclass for sure. It allows for both play styles and does pretty well

    I feel like an artificer with an homunculus and the protector cannon can make a bigger difference to a battle than with a force cannon. With a quick buff hug in round 1, you can throw out scores of temp hp every round. And for that reason alone I think it's the best multiclass for a bladesinger, even without any int attack gimmick. And then a familiar can join the protector hug too. Too many extra hp to ignore. It's more than a moon druid can do over a battle, and more over a day than a twilight cleric, and that's epic.

      It is pretty great to be able to give temp HP every turn. There's not a whole lot of others who can do that. It does work well with Bladesingers since they are squishy and may not always have a great use of their bonus actions otherwise. It's a ton of fun

      @@DapperSnapperGaming the problem is that it isn't really as fun as doing damage, but if you enjoy the subtle background support game, it is by far the best choice. but best of all, you can decide which cannon to use in the moment.

    • @DapperSnapperGaming
      @DapperSnapperGaming  2 года назад +1

      Yes this would be trash if you had to even choose daily. It is way more fun to blow stuff up. I did a Barbarian build that dipped into this for Protector actually so you may wanna check that out

      @@isaacs1052 Tbh the cannon is kinda weak. It should be better then what it is. It’s decent early lvs but It will definitely get weak soon cause it doesn’t do that much more dmg as u go up in lv (which it totally should). And the temp hp one would be good if it went up at all but it doesn’t. Also the fact that it takes an action is dumb. Also making the gun explode should definitely do more dmg (exploding it should do more dmg the shooting it).
      Honestly I think a fix for it would be add your Int mod to it (to the dmg ones) and having the summoning of it as apart of the same bonus action as using it. Or maybe just add one more turret for the final ability u would get in the subclass (u should get 2 at 9th lv and 3 at 15th lv). Idk they definitely could’ve done better with this subclass.

      @@DapperSnapperGaming Bladesinger’s squishy? U can easily fix that by getting the toughness feat (you’ll have as much health or maybe more then the fighter in your group then). And the fact that they can easily get up to 30+ ac without magic items and can have advantage on dex saves (with haste which helps with u having that much ac). And stuff like Mirror image, absorb elements, and false life (just examples) makes them one of the tankiest subclasses (if not the most tankiest).
      Sorry Bladesinger is my fave subclass and just felt like correcting u cause they definitely aren’t squishy lol.

      I'll try to have that by the end of the day. There will be a link in the description once I get that done
