  • **Update Question 8:
    Uptodate:
    "While in the past V/Q scan was the preferred mode for imaging patients with suspected PE (during pregnancy), we now use CTPA as the primary imaging modality. This preference is based upon the practical rationale that CTPA is more readily available than V/Q scanning, may provide an alternate diagnosis in 12 to 13% of cases, is associated with lower doses of radiation than in the past and has better interobserver agreement for radiologists than nuclear scans."
    50 high yield pulmonology questions to help you prepare for your Pance, Panre and Eor’s. Pance review. Pance Renal review.

    In didactic year right now, my main exams before x-mas break are tomorrow morning. I was told recent studies show CTA has around 10x less radiation to the fetus compared to V/Q scan. Not sure how recent the studies are but I’m assuming PANCE will not be updated and I will be picking V/Q scan every time. Thank you for everything Mr. Cram The Pance you are the GOAT.

    These videos have been great! I have a quick question on the NAEPP asthma guidelines you mentioned. Since they are from 2020 and the NCCPA blueprint was last updated 2019, is that information considered "too new"/ how does it change from previous? Thanks, keep up the good work.

    • @cramthepance
      @cramthepance  2 года назад

      Thank you! From what I understand, the boards update about every 2 years. The good part is, the bulk of asthma questions seem to come from step 1 and step 2 in severity level, and the new 2020 NAEPP guidelines are very similar to the 2007 guidelines in this area. Good luck in school and let me know if you have any other questions!
