Harbor Freight Portland Pressure Washer FOAM CANON Review 63254

- Here is a little follow up from my other video, first part being about the nozzle adjustment, in my initial video I said it wasnt adjustable, but now it seems to work much better.
Then I show you how the supplied foam canon thing works, Im happy with it, but I dilute my soap 50%, otherwise it seems hard to get off if you dont use a mitt. But Im just using regular car wash soap, some other stuff may work better.

Harbor Freight
Bought mine 3 years ago, I've used it half a dozen times. It's very handy, but the pressure tube in the handle popped loose, creating a big leak. I took the handle apart, cleaned everything up, put some silicone grease on all of the seals and put everything back together. It now works better than it did when I first bought it
Same happened to me only when attaching the soap cannon. It gets jammed to where you have to take the handle apart to release it, and that's when I realized the pressure tube was apart from that. I've used the presser washer around 20 or so times with this being the only issue. Still comes apart with the soap cannon so I stopped using it and just use the sprayer.
WOAH! this whole time I've been using like 1/4 soap and 3/4 water and thought it wasn't getting too foamy because it wasn't a great foamer. Definitely using more soap next time thank you!!!
I'm wide awake looking through a harbor freight catalog...I think you've sold me. Picking one up in the morning. Do my house, porch, and car. Thanks for the video. Well videos. This is the second one I've watched.
Thank you for taking the time to do this, it was very helpful. Although I'm still struggling with trying to get the soap container to easily click on place.
For basic home use this looks perfect
For sure
I got mine a month ago n im happy as i can be with it 79$ well spent
PW56 N progress same
That is probably one of the most straight forward and great videos I've seen demonstrating harbor freight pressure washer .thank you sir 👀👍. And I guess I didn't need to buy foam Cannon 😂
Always excellent quality of videos !👍
Much Appreciated!
Great review ! Picking up mine today 👌🏽
Awesome. Enjoy!
Great review, had a bunch of questions on this particular model and everyone of them was answered! Thank You.
I’m so glad. I try! Thank you
Looks like it works pretty good. Thanks for the video!
Your welcome!
Great video! Thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to opening mine out of the box this weekend!
Nice, best of luck!
Cheers for featuring our music John ! :D
Thanks!
Damn, that looks pretty sweet. I think.
I had the Harbor Freight Pacific Hydrostar pressure and it worked good until the gun started leaking badly. There was no replacement gun. This Portland is the same exact parts. The gun and hoses are identical. The Hydrostar had 1650 psi compared to this Portland. I believe it's all the same manufacturer. Upon winter storage you have to run a special solution through it to prevent the O-rings from damage. Great for the price, but get the extended warranty.
what solution do you run through it? Can you just take it apart and grease it?
nice harbor freight portland presssure washer
Is that the stock foam cannon that came with the pressure washer? If so, it's different than all the others I've seen that come stock which are a straight slim bottle and also the foam Cannon does not work like yours. It doesn't foam at all. It basically pushes soapy water out. Feeling cheated here... Sure I'm not the only one
Yes. It’s the factory one. Check my unboxing video.
I have the same problem did you ever figure out how to fix it
These Portland pressure wash work pretty well, but you have to be aware of quality for the price. My work well for a while then I was getting leaks an the wand an at the high pressure hose connection coming out of the unit at front bottom, used Teflon tape around threads an stopped leak,I leave my high pressure hose permanently connected now to front of unit, also if you have a to long of a water supply hose your unit may cycle on momentarily after releasing trigger, a shorter length hose will remedy that situation also turn water supply fully open an squeeze trigger (machine off) letting air out of unit after all air is out then you are okay to start up an use.
thanks for review..was going to pick one up today to wash our new 50th anniversary edition Camaro...Love the truck, except there was one thing wrong with it....Its a FORD....LOL just kiddin..Thx again looks like it will work perfect for what i need
Should work great for knocking the rust off it. lol. Thanks! :)
JohnVH Life lmao..that was a good one👊👊
Great video!! Now I will for be going to go grab my self one!
Thanks for the review
Thanks for the follow up video with the soap 😊
nice lookin truck
Thanks!
Bought mine on sale and I think it was around $75 OTD after my old one quit working. While its not the stongest pressure washer in the world, it gets the job done and the foam cannon thing was a nice addtion above the old on I had. I just squirt about 3 spoonfuls worth of dawn in the cannon and fill it with water. It gets the job done and for $75 I cant complain. Its washed my RZR probably 5 or 6 times (2-3 hours each time) and its still going strong.
James4wd did the foam cannon come with it? Mine came only with a soap dispenser.
@@berryross8246 it's the same one in the video, dawn soap makes it foamy.
James4wd mine doesn’t spray like yours and the bottle looks different.
great review i sure glad thoe i went with the sunjoe spx3000 than the portland thoe i dont like how they force you to use there foam cannon or if you want to use your own you have to buy a new hose cause the end of it is not normal cause my amazon basics foam cannon was 12 dollars and it does great
Great and clear videos bro. .....great demo on all from beginning to end i appreciate it......and I have to sat this!!!!!.....these negative comments etc.......those $!@#......get on my #!$@'n nerves.......good product for the price and good demo.....
Thanks!
Just picked one up, but my soap cannon just trickles out yet soap level goes down to near empty, even rushing, just half the car.
Appears they've revised the soap cannon in the past few years(and clearly not for the better) New ones don't have the green tip like the one in the video. Very bummed about that. Pressure washer works fairly well tho.
Mines too..... I wonder what kind of cannon this guy is using....... pressure washer is great but the foam cannon soap comes out very watery
I'm going to try using a more higher quality soap
@@flyby1708 I tried it with car wash soap, and water alone...same result. Just trickles out of the nozzle with no pressure behind it like this guys. Going to experiment a little next time I use it this week. If I find a better result, I'll share it here.
@@gardenstateflatlandb please do I will be looking forward to it. Just want the soap to come out like this
I’m using the stock one. And thick soap. No problems. Maybe they’ve changed it since I got one
Love this pressure washer but am really disappointed in the soap dispenser, it empties out real fast.
Sadly my foam cannon did not work, bought a cheap one off of amazon.
My portland 1750 pressure washer foam cannon didn't come with that green tip 🤔🤬
On the camper sun with oxiclean in the cannon does a great job
Good idea, thanks!
Nice vid bro👌🏻
Thanks!
JohnVH Life how much did u bought that one for?
Dont remember now, it was under $100
Great video how long does the foam cannon last with full of soap in it to empty and what’s the shooing distance you would say
Doesn't look last more than about 30 seconds so you have move fast.
that's soapy , what brand of soap are u using ...
I dont even know, some stuff I bought like 4 years ago, the label is gone on it.
JohnVH Life
how's it holding up, just got mine today.
kind of iffy if i should return it and get the ryobi 1600
Great! I pressure washed my three wheeler a couple weeks ago with it. So far so good!
JohnVH Life
thanks... i'll take my chance and keep this one. There's also a lot negative reviews on other brands that's around the same price....
Has yours ever had small patches of soap spray when on rinse mode
Nope
Is that a special soap spray gun because mine just pours the soap out like a gush
No. Stock one.
Oh, is there a spray control for the soap spray that your doing because mine is gush gushing not spraying
Did you thin the soap?
JohnVH Life I put in a quarter of turtle soap and the rest water
@@chicanopridealvarez1385 Thats why, you only put soap in the soap dispenser, no water..
Can you use other foam canon attachments on it?
I have not tried, so I dont know. Id guess it has its own mounting system.
JohnVH Life did yours come with the foam cannon? Mine only sprays suds and not foam without much pressure. Mines doesn’t have the green tip on the end as well.
@@berryross8246, same here. There are 2 item #'s on these washers. I've read the only difference is the bottle that comes with it. One is smaller & works more like a foamer & the other is the bigger kinda suddsy one that sucks
Does anyone know if this Harbor Freight Portland Pressure Washer can work with any other attachments? Namely, I'm looking at getting the Sun Joe Deck and Patio attachment. Thanks!
Also, as some others have commented, get the extended warranty, I've had my pressure washer for about a year and on the fifth use, it gave out. Took it apart and found the metal screws holding the compressor together just broke apart. Had to purchase screw extractors (from Harbor Freight) and get replacement screws from Home Depot. Anyway, I got it working again and now want to powerwash my driveway with a surface cleaning attachment.
good job, but I would avoid scrubbing by hand because it can cause light scratches over time. Just use a regular hose to wet the car and let is soak, then use the foam thing and let it soak. After that you can use the pressure washer from a safe distance to clean everything off.
How the hell do you remove it? I tried to put the foam cannon on mine and damn it’s hard to remove!
I think you push it in and turn it
This! I just got mine. I didn't want to break it lol
nice harbor freight
@JohnVH Life, hi, would you like to review the new MJJC foam cannon pro? Thank you.
I would love to
@@JohnVHLife That's great. May i send you an email first?
@@MJJCvideo Yes please, contact me on Facebook @ JohnVH Life facebook.com/Johnvh-Life-114663753994674/
What brand of soap do you use? I have the same washer and forgot it came with the foam bottle. I have had ghe washer for over 2 years and use ig regularly to wash my semi truck
Just some normal car washing soap I had here
Do you have 2 separate washers when u sprayed the camper?
Nope, same one!
how much soap should i put in there about a 3rd? and the rest all water? for the dispenser
I just put it half full and put a little water with it. Im just using normal car wash soap.
My nozzle lasted 45 minutes....It went pop and began to leak like a sieve. Any suggestions on replacement?
return it at the store
What brand soap did you use?
Not sure, some stuff Ive had laying around for years
Can't this thing produce thick foam?
Any trick?
Probably with the proper soap.
@@JohnVHLife you mean more soap and less water in the soap bottle?
The more soap the more foam but it also depends on the type of soap used
Ever used an extension cord with it? I know it says not to in the manual but Incase the need would ever arise is it possible?
A lot actually. Not sure why that’s not ok
@@JohnVHLife right on, I just don't trust myself with electricity all that much lol
I have used a Graco Airless paint sprayer with a 50 ft. heavy duty drop cord. No problems ever. These units operate on a similar system. If it is a problem I don't know why. I'm going to use mine with a 25" cord with 10 gauge wire. It may trip a breaker but I doubt it. To me heavy duty drop cord mean a heavier gauge wire. You have a ground fault supplied cord with the unit, you can plug your extension cord into a ground fault plug, then you have your circuit breaker in your house breaker box. I'm not an electrician but painted a lot of houses using airless equipment.
Have you tried connecting this to the amazon foam cannon or any other foam cannon? I've been trying to look for fittings that would make this possible.
I have not, but I thought I read that someone has done it. I do not know what would be involved in that.
where did you get your foam cannon? i have the same exact pressure washer, but it did not come with a foam cannon.
Mingle soap cannon plus attatchments 26 dollars and it comes with the bayonet style metal wand the soap cannon and all the angle attachments bought the Portland 2 days ago used it for 5 min to make sure it worked the little mini foam cannon is nice but I like the ones that produce ALOT of suds also picked up chemical guys pink
Will it fit all standard size foam cannon quick disconnect....
Not sure sorry
No you will have to change out the wand. The Ryobi one works with the Portland gun.
Do you know how long it will run before shutting off? If running non stop.
Shut off on its own? Im assuming it will be a long time! Ive pressure washed my travel trailer with it and ran for a long time
JohnVH Life ok thanks for the reply. I used a few others for car wash fundraiser and after bout an hour or so they cut off. Was just wonder if that one has the same problem. Might be just a safety feature tho.
+Dallas Burns I have not held down the trigger for an hour straight yet. But I have used it for an hour.
Great video!
Is it possible to adjust the pressure down a good bit? I'd like to get one, but also need to use it to clean a mini split A/C unit, and have to spray those metal fins at no more than about 150 psi. Can the nozzles be interchanged or pressure adjusted that far? - Thanks!!
+Futur Foto thanks! On the foam canon no. But on the pressure washer wand you can adjust the fan super wide, which seems to make it less powerful.
Thanks for your help and information!
What soap did you use? Mine isn't that high pressure with the soap cannon on and it's more like diluted soapy water. I want that heavy soap covering.
Just some stuff I had laying around. It isn’t anything special.
@@JohnVHLife thanks. My unit doesn't distribute soap like yours did. I was hoping for the same results as you had.
how much soap are you putting in the foam cannon?
I fill it most the way up
@@JohnVHLife Yea thats ridiculous and waaaaaay too much soap. Chemical guys calls for like an ounce per gallon....this product is garbage
Haha, I guess you dont know how these work.
@@JohnVHLife Not the cheap ones, correct.
@@calsup02 you can buy the chemical guys foam cannon but need to buy a separate nozzle attachment in order to use it. mine works great
hello, i left you a big like, please stop by and show some love
You got it!
Wow that's loud.
It makes a little noise, I dont think its too bad
I cant watch this. My ocd is going crazy!
haha! why?
all over the place with the soap. lol
YOU NEED TO LEARN TO USE A PRESSURE WASHER SOMEDAY. TRY WATCHING OTHER VIDEOS, MAYBE YOU WILL GET A CLUE.
What soap brand did you use ?
Just whatever I had laying around
